Abstract

This article aims to describe: (1) the structure of people's belief of agriculture expression and prohibition of farming in Kanagarian Lagan Hilir Punggasan Kecamatan Linggo Sari Baganti Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan : (2) to describe the social function of people's trust expression prohibition in Kanagarian Lagan Hilir Punggasan Kecamatan Linggo Sari Baganti Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. This research type was qualitative research with descriptive method. Informant in this research was determined by purposive sampling technique, that is by determining informant first. The background of this research was in Kanagarian Lagan Hilir Punggasan Kecamatan Linggo Sari Baganti Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. The instrument of this research was the researchers themselves recorders. The research data was collected through two stages, namely the recording of the oral tradition of the people's belief in the prohibition expression and the environmental stages of storytelling, the data validation using triangulation technique. Data were analyzed through the following steps: (1) data inventory stage, (2) stage of coverage, (3) data analysis, (4) stages of data analysis and discussion phase, (5) stage of reporting. The result and findings of agriculture expression and prohibition of farming in Kanagarian Lagan.Keywords: structure, social function, expression of prohibition

Abstract

This thesis aims to describe the structure and function of social beliefs of the people expression prohibition of pregnancy, child birth and childhood in Village Tungkal III districtsTungkal Ilir districtTanjung Jabung Barat Province Jambi. The data source of this research was obtained from one main informant and three supporting informants. The place of this research is in Village Tungkal III districts Tungkal Ilir districtTanjung Jabung Barat ProvinceJambi.Data collection techniques in this study were conducted using observation, interview, and record techniques. Based on the results of the study concluded the following points. First, the structure of people's confidence in the prohibition of pregnancy, childbirth, and childhood in Village Tungkal III districts Tungkal Ilir district Tanjung Jabung Barat Province Jambi consists of 2 structures, namely two-part structure and three-part structure. Meanwhile, for the social function of people's trust in the expression of prohibition in Village Tungkal III districts Tungkal Ilir district Tanjung Jabung Barat Province Jambi is to strengthen the emotions of belief, as a system of imaginary projections, educate, prohibit. Keywords: foklore, structure, social function, expression of prohibition

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the representation of (1) personality pleasure, (2) recreational prestige, (3) group fun, (4) juvenile delinquency, (5) hypoactivism, and (6) urban teenage cultures in a teen lite novel, The Unfunniest Comedy by Wiwien Wintarto. The data are the phrase, clause, sentence, that shown a problem of urban teenage life in a teen lite novel, The Unfunniest Comedy by Wiwien Wintarto. The results of the study are (1) the representation of personality pleasures in novel is depicted by reading tabloids and watching movies, (2) the representation of recreational prestige in a novel are teenagers shopping activities, houses in residential areas, luxury restaurants is visited for meals, their owned vehicles , cinema as a place of entertainment that must be visited, and work in the entertainment industry, (3)  the representation of group fun in a novel are teenagers who can be told an opinion in a group and set up rules in association, (4) the representation of juvenile delinquency  in a novel is against the status of skipping school and leaving training obligations, (5) the representation of hypoaktivism in a novel is teenagers’ dependency on others in daily activity, (6) the representation of cultural in this novel is teenagers’ behavior that mimics their idol. Keywords: novel, teenlit, urban teenagers

Abstract

This article is purposed to describe social structure and function of prohibitive proverb about death and funeral custom of Jorong Koto Panjang society at Sungai Tarab village Tanah Datar regency. Literature used in this study was folklor theory. This study was qualitative study with descriptive method and content analysis which was explained facts that determined in study object to describe structure and function of prohibitive proverb about death and funeral custom of Jorong Koto Panjang society at Sungai Tarab village Tanah Datar regency. this study was conducted by anlysis study object with these measures: (1) describe structure of prohibitive proverb, (2) describe funcion of social believe in prohibitive proverb. Structure in this prohibitive proverb consisted of two parts which were double structure and triplet structure. Double structure was causal and effect, and triplet structure was sign, conversion, and effect. next, function of social believe was used to increase faith, imaginary projection system, education, prohibition, and instruction. based on data analysis, the conclusion was prohibitive proverb about death and funeral custom of Jorong Koto Panjang society at Sungai Tarab village Tanah Datar regency had 36 proverbs that consisted of 34 double structure proverbs and 36 triplet structure proverbs with function as prohibition and increasing faith, four function as imaginary projection system, 12 as education, and 31 as instruction.Keywords: structure, social function, expression of prohibition

Abstract

The problem formulation in this research is how is hedonism in novel metropop Cewek Matre by Alberthiene Endah. The purpose of this study were (1) describes the form of behavior of hedonism in the novel metropop Cewek Matre by Alberthiene Endah; (2) to describe the cause of hedonism behavior in novel metropop Cewek Matre by Alberthiene Endah; and (3) describe the impact of hedonism behavior in novel metropop Cewek Matre by Alberthiene Endah. The data source of this research is novel metropop Cewek Matre by Alberthiene Endah. Data were collected by using descriptive method and triangulation technique as data validity. The research findings that form of hedonism behavior found as many as 40 data. The cause of hodonism behavior was found to be 46 data. Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the form of violence against women; (2) to describe the causes of violence against women; and (3) to describe the impact of violence against women in the drama of Marsinah monologue by RatnaSarumpaet. This research type is qualitative research by using descriptive method. The data in this study are sentences and direct speeches of figures that can be interpreted or interpreted as violence against women. Sources of data in this research is the script of Marsinah monologue drama Menggugat works RatnaSarumpaet. The research stages are done by following steps: (1) reading drama script and (2) inventorying data. After data is collected, then analyzed by the following steps: (1) classifying data; (2) to interpret data; and (3) make a conclusion. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the indicators of violence against women in Marsinah monologue drama Scriptures sued by RatnaSarumpaet include: (1) violence against women is divided into five, namely exploitation, powerlessness, marginalization, cultural imperialism, and violence. Violence is divided into two, namely physical violence, including persecution, rape and murder, and internal violence, including humiliation and threats. (2) the cause of violence against women is divided into two, namely internal and external factors; and (3) the impact of violence against women is divided into two, namely the impact of violence against the physical, including fractures, bruises, and severe injuries, and the impact of nonphysical violence, including fear, humiliation and low self-esteem. Keywords: violence, women, Marsinah Menggugat

Abstract

This research aimed to describe profile of female characters in metropop novel Sunshine Becomes You and In a Blue Moon by Ilana Tan, from basic human attitude of love, beauty, misery, outlook on life, responsibilities, and hopes. Data  in this research is a word, phrase, clause, sentence, which can be formulated as profile of female characters. Source of data in this research is metropop novel Sunshine Becomes You and In a Blue Moon by Ilana Tan. This research is a qualitative research and using descriptive analysis method. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that basic human attitude wasfound on two female main characters in both novels. Then, after a comparison between the two characters, it can be concluded that the characteristics of the profile of female  in novels by Ilana Tan has a tendency to fight for the basic attitude of love that is family-oriented and opposite sex. The basic attitude of love family-oriented, including the type of storge love. Meanwhile, the basic attitude of love that is oriented in the opposite sex, including the type of mania love. Furthermore, the profile of female characters in novels by Ilana Tan also has a tendency to fight for basic attitude-oriented outlook on life reflections / thoughts by themselves. outlook on lifeoriented reflections including the type of pragmatism.Keywords: Profile, female,characters, basic human attitude

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the structure and social function of folklore Pakubuean Tagak legend in Kampuang Tanjuang Malai V tribal district Batang Gasan Padang Pariaman. This study is a qualitative research with descriptive methods that describe the data contained in the object of research, the theory used, data analysis, and so on. To find out the structure and social function of the folklore of Pakubuean Tagak legend researchers conducted a study by interviewing several informants who knew the story. This research was located in Kampung Tanjuang, Batang Gasan District, Padang Pariaman District. This research was conducted in several stages: (1) recording stage then transcribed the data and transliterated the data. (2) classifying data based on the theory that has been determined. Based on the results of the study of folklore structure, The first is the structure of folklore Pakubuan Tagak legend contained in Kampuang Tanjuang Nagari Malai V Suku District Batang Gasan Padang Pariaman District. Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the pleasures of the personality, (2) describe the prestige of recreation, (3) describe the pleasure of the group, and (4) describe juvenile delinquency in novel teenlit Love in B Minor by Anindita. The data of this research is the element of the novel teenlit Love in B Minor by Anindita. The source of this research data is novel teenlit Love in B Minor by Anindita. Data analysis technique is done through four stages, namely first, inventory. Second, identifying and classifying data through speech / action of characters and narrators abstracted as urban teen profile data covering personality fun, recreational prestige, group fun and juvenile delinquency. Third, interpret the data. Fourth draw conclusions and make a report. The results include 14 personality pleasure data, 8 recreational prestige data, 10 joy group data and 2 juvenile delinquency data in novel teenlit Love In B Minor by Anindita.Keywords : urban teenagers, teenlit novel, literature

Abstract

Upaya dalam mendapatkan bahan bakar alternatif melalui pengembangan diversifikasi produk briket tebu tibarau. Salah satu bahan potensial sumber energi terbarukan yang dapat diolah menjadi bahan bakar briket yaitu tebu tibarau. Ketergantungan terhadap energi bahan bakar minyak (BBM) sebagai kebutuhan utama dapat dikurangi penggunaannya oleh masyarakat menengah ke bawah. Upaya dan inovasi briket tebu tibarau yang dihasilkan sebagai bahan bakar alternative sehingga mempunyai karakteristik terhadap kualitas dan performa yaitu nilai kalornya. Sebelum dikembangkan sumber potensi ini, diperlukan adanya tahapan ujicoba dan evaluasi sesuai tatanan alur pengembangan produk bahan bakar briket. Melalui teknologi proses pembuatan produk briket dengan kompaksi dan optimalisasi kandungan komposisi terhadap penggunaan perekat yang bermacam jenis sehingga diperoleh nilai kalornya. Dari penelitian ini dapat dihasilkan suatu pengembangan model produk briket tebu tibarau yang direkomendasikan sebagai bahan bakar alternatif. Karakteristik nilai kalor briket tebu tibarau yang maksimal dengan perekat inggu diperoleh sebesar 14608,36 kJ/Kg pada komposisi 80% : 20% dan densitasnya sebesar 302,98 Kg/m3. Penggunaan perekat dari jenis tanaman inggu dapat memperbesar karakteristik nilai kalor briket tebu tibarau sehingga dapat dinyatakan bahwa penggunaan perekat dapat mempengaruhi karakteristiknya. Perbandingan massa bahan baku (tebu tibarau) dengan perekat tapioka, besaran partikel, gaya penekanan (kompaksi), dapat mempengaruhi nilai kalor dan densitas briket tebu tibarau.
