Abstract

The population welfare can be measured by the Human Development Index (HDI). The province of Bali continues to experience an increase in HDI from year to year. However, upon detailed examination of each regency and city within it, disparities can be observed, especially between the Sarbagita region and non-Sarbagita regions. This research aims to analyze the factors influencing the population welfare in regencies/cities of the Bali Province. An associative quantitative approach is employed by gathering data published by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Health Office of the Bali Province. The research method applied is panel data regression, involving a series of statistical tests such as the selection of panel data regression models followed by t-test, F-test, and R Square test. This data analysis is expected to provide a comprehensive understanding of the influence of population ratio to community health centers, maternal mortality rates, student-to-teacher ratio at the high school level, percentage of population aged 15 years and over who completed tertiary education, Gini ratio, and poverty depth index on the population welfare in the context of the Bali Province. The statistical tests conducted will provide validity to the relationship between the variables under investigation. The results of this research are expected to contribute to understanding the factors influencing the population welfare in the Bali.

The objective of this research is to examine the simultaneous and partial influence of business capital, labor, working hours, income level, and regional origins on the revenue of ornamental plant business performers in East Denpasar District. A sample of 80 respondents was utilized, and multiple regression analysis techniques were employed. The research's findings that business capital, labor, working hours, education level, and region origin have a significant effect when considered simultaneously (f). While the partial test results (t) state that business capital and labor have a positive and significant effect on revenue, while working hours and education level partially have no positive effect and are unable to significantly increase revenue, and regional origins partially is statistically insignificant to increase the revenue of ornamental plant businesses in East Denpasar District of Denpasar City.

Abstract

Ideal number of children is the number of children desired by couple of childbearing age who are able to be cared for and given a decent life. The higher the responsibility for the child's value, the higher the encouragement to plan the ideal number of children. This study aims to analyze the views of couples of childbearing age in determining the ideal number of children in Kuta District both simultaneously and partially. The data in this study uses primary data obtained from interviews with 98 respondents who were used as research samples and secondary data in this study, namely data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency in Kuta District totaling 6.427 people. The results of the study show that based on data on economic conditions, cost of living, education level and socio-cultural level have a simultaneous effect on the ideal number of children in Kuta District. Economic conditions partially have a positive and significant effect on the number of ideal children in Kuta District. The cost of living, education level and socio-cultural level partially have a negative and significant effect on the ideal number of children in Kuta District. The sociocultural variable acts as a moderating variable that weakens the influence of education level on the ideal number of children in Kuta District. The results of this study provide implications for the importance of integration between education and local socio-cultural values in making rational decisions about the number of children.

Abstract

Food security has become a global problem in the midst of a war which resulted in an increase in fuel prices followed by an increase in the price of basic necessities, especially our main staple food, namely rice. Overcoming this, the government is expected to pay attention to the welfare of farmers so that farmers are still able to produce to be able to meet food needs in the country. This requires the government's attention in providing counseling and training to farmers in increasing their ability to adopt technology to be applied in the agricultural sector so that production output can be increased and maintain sustainability in the domestic agricultural sector. Technology adoption theory is the main focus in improving the welfare of farmers, this is due to the benefits of information technology as a supporting sector in the production process so as to be able to increase output in a shorter span of time. The higher the ability of farmers to adopt technological developments, the higher their ability to cultivate production land which is able to increase production yields so that it will be followed by an increase in farmer welfare.

Abstract

The lontar leaf stitching home industry is a micro-enterprise that produces various types of crafts made from lontar leaves, commonly used in traditional and religious ceremonies. This industry plays a significant role in the local economy and cultural preservation. The objectives of this study are: (1) to analyze the simultaneous effect of capital, raw materials, working hours, and business duration on the income of lontar leaf stitching home industries in Sibetan Village, Karangasem Regency; and (2) to analyze the partial effect of capital, raw materials, working hours, and business duration on the income of these industries. The population of the study consists of all 50 lontar leaf stitching home industries in Sibetan Village. A saturated sampling technique was used, meaning the entire population was taken as the sample. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the assistance of SPSS version 26. The results show that capital, raw materials, working hours, and business duration simultaneously have a significant effect on income, accounting for 96.8 percent of the variance. Partially, each of these variables also has a positive and significant effect on income. It is recommended that artisans manage their capital efficiently—including utilizing financing from village credit institutions (LPDs)—select quality raw materials, optimize working hours, and leverage business experience through support from village-owned enterprises (BUMDes) to expand marketing and increase income.

Abstract

Traditional markets such as Badung Market in Denpasar City remain central to community economic activities. However, despite infrastructure modernization and the adoption of digital technology, income disparities among traders persist. This study aims to analyze the influence of capital, working hours, business duration, number of buyers, digital technology, and business location on traders’ income at Badung Market. The research employed a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis. A total of 88 respondents were selected through stratified random sampling based on business location, with data collected through observation, structured interviews, and in-depth interviews. The results reveal that all independent variables simultaneously have a significant effect on traders’ income. Partially, the variables of capital, working hours, business duration, number of buyers, and business location exert a positive and significant influence. Conversely, digital technology shows a negative and insignificant effect. These findings indicate that although digitalization has been introduced, its utilization remains limited due to traders’ low digital literacy and constraints in technology adoption. The study highlights the importance of strengthening traditional factors such as capital and location, while also emphasizing the need for guidance in the effective use of digital technology in line with traders’ capacities.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to understand the progress of inclusive economic development in Badung Regency in Bali Province through the analysis of the Inclusive Economic Development Index (IEDI). The research is motivated by two things, first, the issue of inclusivity is an issue amidst the rapid pace of economic development in Badung Regency. Second, the analysis of IEDI data is not yet widely known and used in regional development policy formulation. The method used in this research is descriptive statistics and a literature study. The results of the analysis show that from 2012 to 2021, the average IEDI value for Badung Regency was 5.85 with a decreasing trend. This condition indicates symptoms of widening economic development gaps at a high rate of economic growth. Through this research, it is hoped that analysis of development can be carried out from a comprehensive perspective, later on policy formulation is expected to be oriented towards inclusive economic development.
