Abstract

This research examines religious life in Matotonan Village, Mentawai Islands, from 1997 to 2023, focusing on the relationship between Muslim and Christian communities and the traditional Arat Sabulungan activities. The Matotonan community exhibits a peaceful, respectful, and cooperative religious life. Tolerance is reflected in collective efforts to build public facilities, social gatherings, and mutual respect in practicing their faiths. Arat Sabulungan activities, known as Liat Pulaggajat, involve all villagers regardless of religion, where Muslims and Christians mingle. Although they do not meet during religious rituals, this does not lead to conflict. Social tolerance is evident in important ceremonies such as births, deaths, and marriages, which involve mutual aid and cooperation. In conclusion, harmonious religious life has been well-established in Matotonan since before 1997, with the community united in social interactions despite religious differences.

Abstract

Current problems in various regions make the world of higher education think of doing many things. The most pressing problems now are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT), which is increasingly troubling, drugs and other immoral acts that are increasingly worrying about the world of higher education. This is the problem that makes education in Indonesia focus on the character field. One program that can strengthen the national identity in higher education in learning Minangkabau Culture. The purpose of this study is to apply Contextual Learning (CTL) in learning character values ​​in Minangkabau culture and strengthen the national identity of students. The method used in writing is a literature study, the author tries to develop a contextual learning model which is examined from various relevant references. The results of this study were to use CTL learning to provide independence for students to identify character values ​​derived from the values ​​of life in the family environment or in the community in the Minangkabau community. Besides this learning model instills character values ​​directly through habituation that applies in Minangkabau cultural customs by participating in community activities, including collaborative activities or community meetings that are able to foster a character of tolerance and cooperation. Through CTL in learning Minangkabau Culture that contains character values ​​found in the family or Minangkabau community that can be a reinforcement of national identity. Keywords: contextual learning, character values, identity and Minangkabau culture ABSTRAK Permasalahan yang terjadi saat ini di berbagai daerah membuat dunia pendidikan tinggi berpikir untuk melakukan banyak hal. Masalah yang paling mendesak saat ini adalah Lesbian, Gay, Biseksual dan Transgender (LGBT), yang semakin meresahkan, obat-obatan dan tindakan amoral lainnya yang semakin mengkhawatirkan dunia pendidikan tinggi. Inilah masalah yang membuat pendidikan di Indonesia fokus pada bidang karakter. Salah satu program yang dapat menjadikan penguatan dalam identitas kebangsaan dalam pendidikan tinggi pada pembelajaran Budaya Minangkabau. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menerapkan pembelajaran kontekstual (Contextual Learning/CTL) dalam pembelajaran nilai-nilai karakter dalam budaya Minangkabau serta memperkuat identitas nasional mahasiswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan adalah studi literatur, penulis mencoba mengembangkan model pembelajaran kontekstual yang ditelaah dari berbagai referensi yang relevan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah menggunakan pembelajaran CTL untuk memberikan kemandirian bagi mahasiswa untuk mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai karakter yang berasal dari nilai-nilai kehidupan di lingkungan keluarga atau di masyarakat dalam masyarakat Minangkabau. Selain itu model pembelajaran ini menanamkan nilai karakter secara langsung melalui pembiasaan yang berlaku dalam adat budaya Minangkabau dengan berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan masyarakat, termasuk kegiatan kerja sama atau pertemuan warga yang mampu menumbuhkan karakter toleransi dan kerja sama. Melalui CTL dalam pembelajaran Budaya Minangkabau yang berisi nilai-nilai karakter yang ditemukan dalam keluarga atau masyarakat Minangkabau yang dapat menjadi penguat identitas bangsa. Abstract

This community service aims to describe the process and impact of creative training in an effort to preserve culture through repackaging the indigenous knowledge of the Mentawai people into educational and socialization media. The background of this research is based on concerns about the fading of local cultural values due to the flow of globalization and the lack of documentation and delivery of indigenous knowledge to the younger generation. The method of implementing this activity is carried out to provide solutions in order to overcome partner problems. Through needs analysis, work plans, activity implementation and evaluation. Activities realized in community service include: providing material on creative training in an effort to preserve culture through repackaging the indigenous knowledge of the Mentawai people. Based on the results of technological guidance, descriptions of the results and discussions of this activity, it can be concluded that with this creative training, the Mentawai people, especially the younger generation who participated in creative training involving local artists, traditional figures, and youth, were able to create educational media such as documentary videos, cultural infographics, and interactive performances that are easy to understand and interesting for teenagers. In addition to increasing awareness of the importance of cultural preservation, this activity also encourages active community participation in the process of inheriting indigenous values. Thus, repackaging indigenous knowledge through a creative approach is an effective strategy in maintaining local cultural heritage in the modern era.

Abstract

The growing use of digital learning media calls for a deeper investigation into its effects on students' psychological aspects, particularly metacognitive ability, learning interest, and activeness. It aims to compare students’ metacognitive ability, learning interest, and activeness before and after implementing digital learning media. This study focuses on 80 10th-grade students in the Excellent Class at Islamic High School (MAN) 2 Banyumas during the 2023/2024 academic year. Using a descriptive comparative quantitative approach with a survey method, data were collected through non-probability sampling with a saturation (census) technique. The results show significant differences in all three aspects after the implementation. Specifically, students' metacognitive ability improved by 19%, learning interest by 37%, and learning activeness by 31%. These findings confirm that digital learning media have a positive impact on students’ learning experiences. It enhances their ability to monitor their learning, increases their engagement, and encourages more active class participation. The results highlight the value of digital tools in supporting modern education. However, further research is needed to identify specific causal factors contributing to these improvements, such as interface usability and the integration of interactive learning features. Additionally, long-term studies are recommended to examine the sustainability of these benefits over time and how digital media can be continually optimized to support student development.

Abstract

Educational transformation in the digital era demands the integration of technology into the teaching and learning process. This article describes a community service activity at MAN 2 Payakumbuh, which implemented three technological components—online attendance, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Geschool learning platform—using the Love-Based Curriculum (KBC) approach. This activity aimed to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and humanization of the learning process. The Community Service method used was a participatory and collaborative approach with the school for two months. These activities included: a. Teacher workshops on the use of online attendance applications and Geschool. b. Training on AI Education Tools such as ChatGPT, Canva AI, and AI for creating teaching materials. c. Introduction and mentoring for the implementation of KBC, through character development based on the values of love, empathy, and spirituality in learning. An evaluation of this activity was also conducted. The results showed that the synergy between technology and the values of compassion in education had a positive impact on student learning motivation, teacher engagement, and improved classroom management.

Abstract

Antrean panjang di layanan kesehatan seperti rumah sakit atau Puskesmas sering menyebabkan waktu tunggu yang lama dan mengurangi kenyamanan pasien. Hal ini disebabkan oleh penumpukan pasien dan kurangnya sistem manajemen antrean yang efisien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang aplikasi antrean berbasis web guna mendukung proses pendaftaran dan pengelolaan layanan secara lebih efisien dan terstruktur. Sistem yang dirancang memiliki dua antarmuka utama, yaitu untuk pasien dan petugas. Melalui antarmuka pasien, pengguna dapat melakukan pendaftaran antrean secara online, memperoleh nomor antrean beserta estimasi waktu layanan, serta memantau status antrean secara real-time. Sementara itu, antarmuka admin memungkinkan petugas untuk melihat dan mengatur antrean, memanggil nomor, mengelola status layanan, dan mengakses riwayat kunjungan pasien. Metode penelitian meliputi analisis kebutuhan dan perancangan sistem. Hasil dari perancangan menunjukkan bahwa sistem ini mampu menyediakan fitur-fitur utama seperti pendaftaran online, penomoran otomatis, pemantauan antrean, dan manajemen layanan. Diharapkan, penerapan sistem ini dapat meningkatkan keteraturan, transparansi, dan efisiensi pelayanan di Puskesmas

Abstract

Dalam rangka upaya penyelamatan lingkungan di Desa Sekat Baru, Kecamatan Bantan, Kabupaten Bengkalis, kegiatan pembinaan dan pengelolaan lingkungan difokuskan pada penguatan kapasitas pemerintah desa dan masyarakat, khususnya mereka yang tergabung dalam kelompok peduli kebakaran. Program ini bertujuan untuk membekali mereka dengan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang diperlukan untuk mengelola dan menjaga lingkungan sekitar secara lebih efektif, serta memitigasi dampak dari kebakaran hutan dan lahan yang sering terjadi di wilayah tersebut. Kegiatan pembinaan ini dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan metodologi yang mengutamakan keterlibatan aktif peserta. Salah satu metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, yang menjadi sarana untuk menyampaikan pengetahuan dasar terkait pengelolaan lingkungan yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Dari 12 jenis pelayanan dasar pada SPM tingkat kesehatan kabupaten/kota, hanya 24,75% pelayanan pemeriksaan dan pengobatan penderita hipertensi yang memenuhi target 100%. Angka prevalensi hipertensi di Sumatera Barat berdasarkan hasil pengukuran pada penduduk umur ≥18 tahun ke atas adalah 25,16%. Bukittinggi menempati urutan 4 tertinggi di Sumatera Barat setelah Kabupaten Solok, Kabupaten Tanah Datar, dan Kota Sawahlunto. Maka dari itu diperlukan pelayanan dan edukasi ke masyarakat pentingnya pemeriksaan rutin, pencegahan serta pengobatan hipertensi khususnya di kota Bukittinggi. Metode yang dilaksanakan oleh pengabdi adalah dengan melakukan pelayanan gratis dan penyuluhan hipertensi ke masyarakat di Lapangan Wirabraja kota Bukittinggi. Hasil yang didapatkan yaitu pelaksanaan pelayanan kesehatan berjalan dengan baik, dan masyarakat mulai memahami tentang penyakit hipertensi, apa faktor risiko dan gejalanya. Serta pengetahuan masyarakat untuk melakukan pola hidup sehat yaitu pembatasan konsumsi garam dan alkohol, peningkatan konsumsi sayuran dan buah, penurunan berat badan dan menjaga berat badan ideal, aktivitas fisik teratur, serta menghindari rokok.

Abstract

This paper explores the role and identity of the Jalur Shaman within the Pacu Jalur rowing tradition inKuantan Singingi Regency, Indonesia. While the original approach adopts a historical-biographicalmethod, this revision reframes the study through a discourse-analytic lens to better interrogate how theshaman’s role, ritual language, and spiritual objects function as symbolic practices. The central figure,Jasri, a renowned shaman, guides the spiritual preparation of rowing teams through ritual prayers,protective symbols, and oral transmission of traditional values. Drawing from interviews and culturalobservation, the study investigates how speech, artifacts, and biography co-construct the Jalur Shaman'slegitimacy. Adopting theoretical insights from Critical Discourse Analysis and Ritual Theory, the studyanalyzes prayers as performative speech acts and the shaman’s tools (e.g., knives, necklaces) as culturaltexts encoding meanings of defense, identity, and cosmological belief. The article reveals how theauthority of a shaman is not inherited, but constructed through community narratives, ritualperformance, and symbolic alignment with ancestral power. Findings suggest that the shaman’s discoursesustains a sacred space where tradition is enacted, remembered, and renewed. Beyond preservingheritage, Jasri’s role reflects resistance against modern secularization and provides a platform forcollective spiritual identity in the postcolonial context. The study recommends incorporating discourse-sensitive approaches to analyze spiritual roles in Indigenous communities and preserving oral texts as partof intangible cultural heritage. Future research could explore the tension between institutional religiousframeworks and localized spiritual discourse in similar traditions across Southeast Asia.
