Abstract

In 2019, the government has taken policies as an effort to optimally handle the Covid-19 storm so that it does not spread widely. The pattern of transmission of the Covid-19 virus can be through the air and can be transmitted if health protocols are not carried out properly. The level of incidence of Covid-19 has become a major problem for all communities in various regions in Indonesia, including in the Parigi area of Parigi Moutong Regency. In the last week, it was discovered that a new variant of Covid-19, the "Omicron" type, has been endemic in various regions. The preliminary observations show that 75% of the public do not understand the ways and benefits of consistently implementing the Covid-19 health protocol, and 62% do not understand the risks faced if they are not disciplined with the Covid-19 health protocol. To anticipate the rate of spread of the Covid-19 virus, it is important to educate the public regarding health protocols. This activity has been carried out from June 12 to 18, 2021, using the Focus Group Discussion Method (FGD). The target is 5 health cadres and 75 people. This activity was carried out in Salabia Village, Tinombo District, Parigi Moutong Regency. This education regarding the implementation of the Covid-19 health protocol was enthusiastically welcomed by the public and health cadres. This activity is carried out to ensure that the public and health cadres are broad-minded so that they can independently implement the COVID-19 health protocol correctly with discipline and consistency.

Abstract

In Indonesia, achieving the proportion of timely provision of MP-ASI still needs to improve. Providing nutritious food for children and families is inseparable from the culture of the local community, especially the provision of complementary foods for breastfeeding, but cultural principles often contradict the principles of health. This study aims to ascertain the community's cultural norms regarding administering MP-ASI to infants—the cross-sectional design of this study's quantitative descriptive methodology. The population is 231 people. A sample of 148 people was determined based on the Slovin formula. The questionnaire measurement scale uses a Likert scale approach (1-5). Odds ratio analysis is used to analyze data. The study's findings revealed that most mothers with good knowledge in responding to their culture also had good complementary feeding (98.5%), where the odds ratio obtained was 19.950 with a P value. 0.002, with a Lower Bound value of 2.981 and an Upper Bound of 133.533. A good mother's attitude in responding to its relation to her culture mostly shows the proper complementary feeding (94%), with an odds ratio of 4.762 and a significance level of 0.038, a lower bound of 10.90 and an upper bound of 20,813. The cultural determinants of providing complementary feeding (MP-ASI) are in the mother's knowledge and attitude. The knowledge aspect contributes more than the mother's attitude towards proper complementary feeding practices in the local culture.  Keywords: Behavior, complementary feeding, culture, knowledge

Abstract

Introduction: The demands of patient needs for the quality of health services at the Bulili primary Healthcare have continued to increase since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic where the number of patient visits has decreased significantly. Return visits by patients at primary Healthcare are an indication of low public confidence in the quality of health services provided. This study aims to evaluate the quality of health services at the Bulili Primary Healthcare by focusing on patient assessment after the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This study using a quantitative descriptive design influenced by Donabedian's quality framework, the study examined variables such as effectiveness, efficiency, patient-centeredness, timeliness, safety, and equity. Data were collected from 44 patients through structured interviews and analyzed using Anova to explore the variability and significance of service quality dimensions. Results: The results showed a significant difference (P-Value: 0.008) in patient needs in the aspect of health service quality at the Bulili Primary Healthcare. Service effectiveness and efficiency, timeliness of service, patient-centered care, fairness or equity in care vary widely and have the greatest influence on quality needs in patients. Punctuality, and postulate or equity in service delivery, require urgent improvements to meet the need for quality of care in patients. This study also identifies potential areas for further research in the development and implementation of strategies to improve service quality in primary healthcare that can be widely adapted. Conclusion: The conclusion is the need for a responsive and patient-centered approach in the setting of equity or equity, timeliness, effectiveness and efficiency, and patient-centered care.

Abstract

United Nations & AIDS (UNAIDS) in 2019 stated that 38 million individuals in the world were suffering from human immunodeficiency virus or HIV. Since it was discovered in 1987, the number of HIV cases in Indonesia until mid-2020 was 436,948 cases, of which 64,990 people have died. This study aims to assess the quality of health services with the service quality (SERVQUAL) analysis model on voluntary HIV counseling and testing. A quantitative study was conducted with a descriptive observational analytic approach and a cross-sectional design on 120 respondents. The variables were measured using a service quality questionnaire and Likert scale. The results showed a difference between the expectations and perceptions of respondents on the service quality of voluntary HIV counseling and testing. The statistical analysis (p=0.000) shows that the health services for voluntary HIV counseling and testing have poor quality. However, the respondents gave good scores on responsiveness and assurance of the services. Managers and relevant authorities need to plan and pay special attention to other yet optimal variables.
