Abstract

This study aimed to mitigate risks in rice supply chain using the Fuzzy- Analytical Hierarchy Process (Fuzzy-AHP)) approach, focusing on Kebonagung Bulog Warehouse, Malang. With rice being a staple food in Indonesia and increasing consumption, effective supply chain management is critical for ensuring food security. The research identified and prioritizedkey risks faced by actors in the rice supply chain, including supply, quality, storage, and environmental risks. Data were collected through purposive and snowball sampling methods, involving rice processing industries, Kebonagung Bulog Warehouse, and traders. Fuzzy-AHP method was employed to prioritize risks, with supply risk being the highest for rice processors and traders, and quality risk for Kebonagung Bulog Warehouses. Supply risk for rice processors and traders was primarily caused by inconsistent raw material availability due to fluctuating harvest yields and supplier unreliability. Quality risk for Kebonagung Bulog Warehouse occured due to improper handling and prolonged storage, leading to deterioration and reduced rice quality. Risk mitigation strategies include formal partnerships, regular evaluations, strict supplier selection, and improved quality management practices. These findings offer a framework for improving risk management in rice supply chains and enhancing food security in Indonesia.

Abstract

The pandemic has shifted societal behavior towards a healthier lifestyle, with 7 out of 10 people in Indonesia desiring healthy food. Malang City, as one of the cities in East Java with many universities, has a significant Gen-Z population influencing the economic activities in the healthy food sector. This study explores the relationship between Perceived Risk and Purchase Decisions and the moderating role of Electronic Word of Mouth (E-WOM) among students in Malang City. Using quantitative methods and SEM-PLS analysis with 100 101 students from Universitas Brawijaya as respondents gathered through questionnaires, this study found that Perceived Risk significantly affects healthy food purchase decisions, and E-WOM is a significant moderating variable in this relationship. The study provides strategic recommendations for marketing and policies related to healthy food, including financial risk control through regular product price evaluations, the creation of social trends to reduce negative stigma among Gen-Z, improved production and delivery efficiency to speed up product reception, and maximizing the role of E-WOM through promoting positive reviews and educational content on social media to build a positive image and increase consumer loyalty.

Abstract

Indonesia has many villages with the potential to become tourism villages, one of which is Tulungrejo Village in Bumiaji District, Batu City. This village has the largest apple orchard covering approximately 900 hectares and has also developed strawberry-picking agrotourism. Such potential highlights the need to strengthen the capacity of tourism actors, particularly in tourism services and interpretation. The empowerment program aims to: (1) identify the potentials and challenges of fruit-picking tourism; and (2) enhance the cognitive and affective capacity of tourism actors through socialization. Social mapping was conducted using observation, interviews, focus group discussions (FGD), and ranking methods. The results show promising potentials such as an active community, high enthusiasm, and strong tourism appeal, while the challenges include a lack of collaboration, limited tourism management skills, and inconsistency in standard operating procedures (SOP). The program involved 13 participants and was carried out using a mezzo-level approach through socialization and practical activities. Pre-test and post-test evaluations indicated an increase of 17% in cognitive aspects and 9% in affective aspects, but the results did not meet the minimum target of 60%, suggesting that the program has not been fully successful. Nevertheless, the applied method proved to be quite effective and may serve as a foundation for future program development. Recommendations include encouraging tourism actors to establish communication with POKDARWIS and Karang Taruna, and to prepare for professional certification; the village government is encouraged to provide continuous mentoring, training, and infrastructure support; and future facilitators are advised to strengthen material on stakeholder roles, adopt participatory approaches, and adjust evaluation indicators to match participant backgrounds.
