Abstract

This study aims to find out the relationship between reading interest and reading habits with the writing skills of the explanatory text students of class V SD N Bugel 02 Salatiga 2022/2023. This research uses a quantitative approach to correlational research models. This research sample is students of class V SD N Bugel 02. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires and tests. The validation used is expert validation and instrument validity test. Data analysis was carried out by descriptive statistics and multiple correlation analysis. The results of the study indicate that students’ reading interests are low, students’ reading habits are low, and student’s writing skills of the explanatory text are moderate and all three have strong, positive, and significant correlations. It is hoped that this research can provide information regarding students’ reading interests, reading habits, and the writing skills of the explanatory text. These results should be taken into consideration by teachers and schools to improve the efforts that have been carried out by not only considering the application of literacy but also the cultivation of interest and habits in students so that in the future students can implement these experiences as supporting efforts writing skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the guided inquiry learning model to improve students' understanding of biodiversity concepts in Grade V in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) lessons at Tirtoyoso State Elementary School in Surakarta. This research method used a classroom action research design conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of two meetings. The research subjects were 21 fifth-grade students at Tirtoyoso Surakarta Public Elementary School in the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected through observation, documentation, interviews, and tests. This study consisted of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed a significant increase in students' understanding of biodiversity concepts. The average score in cycle 1 increased to 71.19 with a classical mastery level of 61.90%. In cycle 2, the average score increased to 81.19 with a classical mastery level of 85.71%. These results indicate that the guided inquiry learning model is effective in improving students' conceptual understanding because it transforms the learning process into an active and student-centered one, where students are directly involved in the discovery process.

Abstract

This study aims to improve mathematical reasoning skills in the subject of perimeter and area of flat shapes through the application of the Means Ends Analysis (MEA) learning model to fifth-grade students at Trombol 2 Public Elementary School, Mondokan, Sragen, in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research method used was qualitative, specifically Classroom Action Research, which was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle included the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. There were 16 students participating in the study. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, documentation, and tests. Data validity was tested through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The data analysis technique referred to the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed improvement in each cycle. The average pre-action test score was 35.5 with a classical mastery level of 0%. In cycle I, the average test score was 66 with a classical mastery level of 37.5% in the first meeting and increased to 74 with a classical mastery level of 62.5% in the second meeting. In cycle II, the average score increased to 80.5 with a classical mastery of 81.25% in the first meeting and reached an average score of 84 with a classical mastery of 87.5% in the second meeting. Based on this data, it can be concluded that the mathematical reasoning skills of fifth-grade students at Trombol 2 Public Elementary School, Mondokan, Sragen, in the 2024/2025 academic year improved after the implementation of the Means Ends Analysis (MEA) learning model.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this research is to improve the reasoning skills in the plan figure by applying Means Ends Analysis learning model. The subjects of this research were students of IV class at SDN Serengan II Surakarta in the 2018/2019 academic year, totalling 28 students. This research is a Classroom Action Research with three cycles. Data collection techniques are using observations, interviews, test and documentation. Data validity tests are using technique triangulation. Interactive model of Miles-Huberman was used to data analysis technique. The initial condition of reasoning skills of IV class the average value class score of 32,64 with 0% in classical completeness. The first cycle began with the first learning resulting in increased 7,14% with 41,00 of average, second learning was 21,43% with 49,14 average. The study continued with second cycle with percentage 57,14% with average 68,79, second learning was 50% with 72,68 average. The study continued with third cycle with the percentage was 78,57% with 77,07 average, second learning was 85,71%  with 81,21 average. Based on the results, it can be concluded that through the application of the Means Ends Analysis model can improve the reasoning skills in class IV SDN Serengan II Surakarta 2018/2019 academic year.

Abstract

Abstract. The goal of this research is to increase critical thinking skills in social science learning by applying ARIAS learning model. This study is Classroom Action Research and have two cycles. The subjects of this study were students of the 4th A students at SD Negeri 01 Papahan Karanganyar in the 2019/2020 academic year, totalling 25 students. This study uses data collection techniques in the form of interview, observation, and tests, with data analysis of content validity and triangulation. 72% of classical completeness is obtained in the 1st cycle, and the research continued in the 2nd cycle with a result of 80% classical completeness. Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that the critical thinking skills in social science learning on 4th A students of SD Negeri 01 Papahan karanganyar in the 2019/2020 academic year can be improved through the ARIAS learning model. This research is expected to make teachers more skilled in applying the ARIAS model to improve student’s critical thinking skills

Abstract

The purpose of this research is analyze the implementation of the School Literacy Movement and describe the supporting and inhibiting factors of implementation School Literacy Movement. The approach used in this research is a qualitative case study method. The subjects in this study were teacher and students of fourth grade. Research data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The validity test of research data using source triangulation techniques and technical triangulation. Data analysis techniques use an interactive model consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results obtained show that the implementation of the School Literacy Movement at Tegalrejo Number 98 Surakarta Elementary School in reading literacy and numeracy is quite good which can be seen from the three stages of implementing the School Literacy Movement which include the habituation stage, the development stage, and the learning stage carried out. Reading literacy and numeracy literacy activities at Tegalrejo Elementary School in improving students' reading and numeracy skills are carried out according to the literacy schedule. Reading literacy is carried out on Tuesday and Friday, numeracy literacy is carried out on Wednesday before learning for 15 minutes. In addition, this study found supporting and inhibiting factors of literacy and numeracy in the implementation of the School Literacy Movement. Implementation of the School Literacy Movement is an effort to foster a positive culture in students.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to (1) describe the implementation of Project Based Learning model, and (2) improve high-level thinking skills in science learning. The research is a collaborative classroom action research that conducted in two cycles. The subjects were teacher and students of V grade SDN Ngabeyan 01 Kartasura Sukoharjo. Both qualitative and quantitative data are employed. Data collection techniques used observations, interviews, and tests. Data validity testing technique used triangulation. Data analysis technique used interactive analysis. The result conclude that, (1) the implementation of Project Based Learning model in science learning appropriate the steps: (a) determining basic questions, (b) planning projects, (c) compiling project schedules, (d) supervising the project, (e) testing outcomes, and (f) evaluating; (2) the implementation of Project Based Learning model can enhance high level thinking skills on science learning in V grade SDN Ngabeyan 01 Kartasura Sukoharjo showed the satisfaction percentage of the HOTS test in cycle II was 83.33% for questions C4, C5, and C6.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to increase students' understanding of economic activities by utilizing natural resources. Subject of the research were 20 student from grade 4 at Palur 04 elementary school. This research was conducted in 2 cycles, each of which consisted of planning, implementation and reflection. In this study, researchers also collected data, the first was observation, then researchers conducted interviews with students and teachers, then used tests and used several documents to support research. In the data validities test technique, researchers used triangulation then source triangulation techniques. then for data analysis techniques, researchers use comparative descriptive techniques and critical analysis techniques. This study revealed that students' understanding of concepts improved after using a mind mapping model. it can be seen through the average value obtained. Scores obtained by students before applying this mind mapping model get an average value of 67.25 with a percentage of 40%. then continued with the first cycle, where the average score of students increased by 73.45 (65%). because it has not yet reached the indicator, the second cycle increases again, which then increases to 80.20 (90%)

Abstract

this study set out to ascertain the extent to which the Jigsaw Cooperative Learning model, with the use of diorama, influenced the social studies learning outcomes pertaining to local studies including local materials studied by four fourth-grade elementary school students. This research is classified as quantitative since it uses a pretest-posttest control group design and a quasi-experimental methodology.  The sample was selected using the cluster random sampling approach and subsequently split into experimental and control groups. In this study, a learning outcome test is used to collect data, which is subsequently analyzed using Mann Whitney. The result showed that student with Jigsaw cooperative learning model had better learning outcomes than student whit team tournament model. The control group received an average score of 75, whereas the experimental group received an average score of 85. The results of hypothesis testing indicate that the use of diorama media in conjunction with the Jigsaw cooperative learning paradigm significantly affects social studies learning outcomes for local cultural information.  A significance level of 0.05 is used in this investigation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the analysis of students' critical thinking skills in social interaction material in social studies learning for class V SD Negeri Bojong 03, Kawunganten District, Cilacap Regency for the 2021/2022 academic year. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data sources of this research include the results of students' thinking ability tests, the results of student and teacher interviews, and documentation of the results of students' answer sheet. The subjects in this study were 3 students who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using tests, interviews, and documentation. The data validity test technique used triangulation. The data analysis technique in this qualitative research uses data analysis techniques using the Miles and Huberman model which consists of collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the percentage of explanation indicators was 55.56%, interpretation indicators 77.78%, analysis indicators 55.56%, evaluation indicators 66.67%, inference indicators 55.56%, and self-regulation indicators 88.89%. The most dominant indicator is self-regulation indicator. While the lowest indicators are three indicators, namely explanation, analysis and inference. The average percentage of critical thinking skills of fifth grade students at SD Negeri Bojong 03 Kawunganten is 66.67%. Based on this percentage, it can be said that the analysis of critical thinking skills of fifth grade students at SD Negeri Bojong 03 Kawunganten is in the medium category.Keywords: critical thinking skills, elementary school
