Abstract

ABSTRACT Observation of the crescent moon is a crucial method in determining the beginning of the Hijri month. Along with the development of technology, the use of modern optical aids such as ioptron telescopes and CCD cameras has become a promising alternative to improve observation accuracy. The main problem in this study is how effective the use of ioptron telescopes and CCD cameras is in rukyatul hilal. The main problem is then formulated into several sub-problems or research questions, namely: what are the results of using ioptron telescopes with CCD cameras in rukyatul hilal, and what is the success rate of using ioptron telescopes and CCD cameras in rukyatul hilal. This study aims to examine and analyze the effectiveness of using modern technology in rukyatul hilal. This type of research is a type of field research while the nature of the data collected is quantitative descriptive with the research approaches used are: theological normative sharia, and astronomy. The data sources in this study are based on the results of observations and documentation analysis supported by document studies. Data processing and analysis techniques are carried out through three stages, namely: data collection, data processing, and data presentation. The results of the study show that first, the results of observations using a telescope combined with a CCD camera are able to record crescent images quite well in favorable weather conditions. Second, the use of telescopes and CCD cameras in rukyatul hilal quantitatively is relatively low, namely 21.4% of 28 observations that meet the criteria with a total of 41 observations from 2021 to 2024. The implications of this study are: 1) It is necessary to develop a more comprehensive crescent observation methodology. 2) An evaluation of the effectiveness of optical instruments in rukyatul hilal is needed.

Abstract

Issues concerning Indigenous women have gained increasing attention in global discussions on human rights and Indigenous Peoples. However, a significant gap persists in International Relations scholarship, particularly within Feminist International Relations, which has not systematically examined the lived experiences of Indigenous Papuan women within global Indigenous rights discourse. This study analyzes the forms of marginalization faced by Indigenous Papuan women in patriarchal social structures and explores how these experiences intersect with international Indigenous governance frameworks. Using a qualitative descriptive case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and analysis of academic and policy documents. The analysis draws on patriarchy theory, Feminist International Relations, and Indigenous rights frameworks. Findings show that Indigenous Papuan women experience multi-layered marginalization rooted in entrenched local patriarchal norms and reinforced by limited representation in global governance arenas. This is reflected in restricted decision-making power, limited access to land and economic resources, inadequate education and healthcare, and minimal formal leadership roles. Despite these constraints, they demonstrate resilience through community-based economic initiatives, land and environmental advocacy, legal literacy programs, and grassroots diplomacy.Theoretically, this study advances Feminist International Relations by positioning Indigenous women’s local experiences as constitutive of global politics and exposing how global governance reproduces intersectional marginalization.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh latar belakang pendidikan dan pengalaman kerja terhadap etos kerja pegawai pada Kantor BAZNAS Kota Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain asosiatif kausal. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh pegawai yang berjumlah 30 orang, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampling jenuh sehingga seluruh populasi dijadikan sampel penelitian. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linear berganda untuk mengetahui pengaruh secara parsial maupun simultan antara variabel independen terhadap variabel dependen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial, latar belakang pendidikan tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap etos kerja pegawai dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,611 (>0,05). Demikian pula, pengalaman kerja juga tidak menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan terhadap etos kerja dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,133 (>0,05). Secara simultan, kedua variabel tersebut hanya mampu menjelaskan sebesar 12,1% variasi etos kerja pegawai, sedangkan sisanya sebesar 87,9% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar model penelitian. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa etos kerja pegawai tidak hanya ditentukan oleh latar belakang pendidikan dan pengalaman kerja, tetapi lebih dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain seperti motivasi kerja, gaya kepemimpinan, serta budaya organisasi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan perhatian lebih terhadap faktor-faktor tersebut guna meningkatkan etos kerja pegawai secara optimal.
