Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui topik yang di butuhkan untuk mengembangkan buku cerita dwibahasa anak-anak yang dapat digunakan sebagai media pengajaran membaca di SDN 3 Banjar Jawa, (2) mengetahui nilai-nilai yang dibutuhkan dalam buku cerita dwibahasa anak-anak untuk mengembangkan karakter siswa dan (3) mengetahui kualitas dari buku cerita bilingual anak-anak yang di kembangkan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SD di SDN 3 Banjar Jawa. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dengan menggunakan lembar observasi, wawancara, kuesioner, ceklis, rubrik, dan catatan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian R & D (penelitian dan pengembangan) yang diikuti beberapa prosedur berdasarkan model dari Sugiyono (2009), yaitu mengidentifikasi potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, merancang produk, validasi desain produk, revisi produk desain, uji coba produk, dan revisi produk. Dengan demikian pada akhir penelitian ini, ada prototipe dari buku cerita dwibahasa anak-anak. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada tiga jenis buku cerita dwibahasa anak-anak yang dikembangkan dengan tema pengenalan, sekolah dan keluarga. Setiap buku cerita dwibahasa anak-anak terdiri dari empat belas sampai dengan lima belas halaman dan pendidikan karakter dimasukkan ke dalam cerita. Pada kualitas media, ditemukan bahwa buku cerita dwibahasa anak-anak yang dikembangkan dikategorikan sebagai media yang sangat baik. Dengan demikian, buku cerita dwibahasa anak-anak sangat tepat untuk digunakan sebagai media untuk mengajar membaca pada siswa kelas IV SD.Kata Kunci : buku cerita bilingual, pendidikan karakter, membaca, mengajar bahasa Inggris untuk anak-anak This research aimed to (1) know the topic that are needed to develop a bilingual children storybook at SDN 3 Banjar Jawa, (2) know the values are needed to develop the student’s character in the bilingual children storybook and (3) know the qualities of the developed bilingual children storybook. The subject of this research was the fourth grade students of elementary school at SDN 3 Banjar Jawa. The data of this research were obtained by using observation sheet, interview guidelines, item of questionnaire, checklist, rubric, and notes. This research was R & D (research and development) which followed several procedures based on Sugiyono, (2009) model namely identifying potency and problem, collecting data, designing product, validating design product, revising design product, trying-out product, and revising product. Thus, there was a prototype of bilingual children storybook in the end of this research. The result of this research showed that there were three kinds of character bilingual children storybook developed with the theme introduction, school and family. Each bilingual children storybook consisted of fourteen up to fifteen pages and was inserted character education in its story. For the quality of the media, it was found that the bilingual children storybook developed was categorized as excellent media. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan jumlah awalan dan akhiran, jenis item derivasi dan infleksi, dan morfologi menyerupai awalan dan akhiran di Bali Baturinggit Dialek. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Tiga informan sampel dari Dialek Bahasa Bali Baturinggit dipilih berdasarkan kriteria yang ditetapkan. Data dikumpulkan berdasarkan tiga teknik, yaitu: observasi, teknik perekaman, dan teknik wawancara (mendengarkan dan mencatat). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada empat awalan dan lima akhiran yang ada di Dialek Bahasa Bali Baturinggit. Awalan {ma-}, {n}, {pa-}, dan {ka-}. Akhiran {-ang}, {-in}, {ne}, {-e}, {-an}. Awalan dan akhiran bersifat infleksi adalah: awalan {ma-}, {n}, dan {-pa} dan akhiran {-ang} dan {-in}. Awalan dan akhiran bersifat derivasi adalah: awalan {ma-}, {n}, dan {ka-} dan akhiran {-ang}, {-in}, {ne}, {-e}, dan {-an}. Item morfologi menyerupai awalan dan akhiran adalah: proklitika (Ja-) dan (kelo-), dan enklitika (-nane).Kata Kunci : Kata kunci: Dialect Bahasa Bali Baturinggit, awalan dan akhiran derivatif, awalan dan akhiran inflektif, proklitika, dan enklitika. This study aimed to describe the number of prefixes and suffixes, the types of prefixes and suffixes, and the affixes-like morpheme found in Balinese Baturinggit Dialect. This research is a descriptive qualitative study. Three informants’ sample of Balinese Baturinggit Dialect were chosen based on a set criteria. The data were collected based on three technique, namely: observation, recording technique, and interview (listening and noting) technique. The results of the study show that there are four prefixes and five suffixes existing in Balinese Baturinggit Dialect. The prefixes are {ma-}, {n-}, {pa-}, and {ka-} and the suffixes are {-ang}, {-in}, {-ne}, {-e}, {-an}. The prefixes and suffixes that belong to derivation are: prefix {ma-}, {n-}, and {pa-} and suffix {-ang} and {-in}. The prefixes and suffixes that belong to inflection are: prefix {ma-}, {n-}, and {ka-} and suffix {-ang}, {-in}, {-ne}, {-e}, and {-an}. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan jenis pencampuran bahasa yang digunakan oleh penduduk desa Nusa Sari dan juga cara peduduk desa Nusa Sari untuk menggunakan pencampuran bahasa tersebut dalam berkomunikasi dengan orang lain di masyarakat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Narasumber dalam penelitian ini adalah dua keluarga yang terdiri dari lima anggota keluarga. Data dikumpulkan berdasarkan tiga teknik, yaitu Observasi, Wawancara, dan Dokumen Teknik. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan beberapa instrumen, yaitu: pedoman dalam wawancara, perangkat perekam, catatan dan pena. Dalam menganalisa data, menggunakan tiga domain: Persahabatan, Pertetanggaan, dan Keluarga. Ada tiga proses dalam menganalisis data: data reduksi, penggambaran data, penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada tiga dialek yang digunakan oleh penduduk desa Nusa Sari dalam komunikasi sehari-hari, seperti dialek Nusa Penida, dialek Jembrana, dan Bahasa Indonesia. Tapi dialek utama yang digunakan adalah dialek Nusa Penida dan dialek Jembrana karena Bahasa Indonesia memiliki frekuensi rendah untuk digunakan di masyarakat desa Nusa Sari. Ada dua jenis pencampuran bahasa yang digunakan oleh penduduk desa Nusa Sari, seperti Insertion dan Alternation. Sementara itu tidak ditemukan adanya penggunaan dari Congruent Lexicalization di dalam penelitian ini.Kata Kunci : jenis-jenis pencampuran bahasa, dialek Nusa Penida This study aimed to discover the types of code mixing used by Nusa Sari villagers and also the way Nusa Sari villagers used the code mixing to communicate with other people in the community. This study was a qualitative research. The informants were two families consisted of five family members. The data were collected based on three techniques, which were Observation, Interviewing, and Document Technique. The data were collected by using some instruments, namely: interview guideline, recording device, note and pen. The data were analyzed through the use of three domains: Friendship, Neighborhood, and Family. There were three processes in analyzing the data: data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing and verification. The results of the study showed that there were three codes spoken by Nusa Sari villagers in their daily communication, such as Nusa Penida dialect, Jembrana dialect, and Bahasa. But the major codes used were Nusa Penida dialect and Jembrana dialect since Bahasa had a low frequency in the community of Nusa Sari village. There were two types of code mixing used by Nusa Sari villagers, such as Insertion and Alternation. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan menulis teks recount siswa kelas 10 dengan menggunakan strategi kombinasi Idea-Details dan P.O.W.E.R.S. di SMA Laboratorium UNDIKSHA Singaraja. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian Post-test Only Control Group. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi kelas 10 di SMA Laboratorium UNDIKSHA Singaraja. Kemudian, teknik random sampling digunakan untuk memilih sampel dalam penelitian ini. Ada dua kelompok sampel yaitu kelompok eksperimen yang diajar dengan menggunakan strategi kombinasi Idea-Details dan P.O.W.E.R.S., dan kelompok kontrol yang diajar menggunakan strategi mengajar menulis konvensional. Data penelitian diambil dari hasil post-test yang diselenggarakan setelah dua kelompok tersebut belajar dengan strategi yang berbeda selama 6 kali pertemuan. Setelah itu, data penelitian dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis statistik inferensial. Hasil dari analisis statistik deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen memiliki kemampuan lebih baik daripada kelompok kontrol dimana nilai rata-rata kelompok eksperimen (88,85) lebih tinggi daripada nilai rata-rata kelompok kontrol (78,29). Kemudian, pada analisis statistik inferensial, menunjukkan bahwa the observed t value yang sejumlah 3,240 (tobs) lebih tinggi dari t critical value yang sejumalah 2,06 (tcv) pada level standar alfa (α = .05). Hal ini berarti hipotesis nol ditolak atas hipotesis alternatif. Kesimpulannya, hal ini memastikan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signikan pada kemampuan menulis teks recount siswa kelas 10 dengan menggunakan strategi kombinasi Idea-Details dan P.O.W.E.R.S.Kata Kunci : Strategi Idea-Details, Strategi P.O.W.E.R.S., Teks Recount, Kemampuan Menulis This study was aimed at investigating whether or not there was a significant effect on the tenth grade students’ writing achievement in recount text by the combination of Idea-Details and P.O.W.E.R.S. strategy at SMA Laboratorium UNDIKSHA Singaraja. Post-test Only Control Group Design was used as the research design. The population for this study was tenth grade students in SMA Laboratorium UNDIKSHA Singaraja. Then, simple random sampling technique was used in selecting the sample. There were two groups of sample, namely experimental group which was taught by the combination of Idea-Details and P.O.W.E.R.S. strategy and control group which was taught by conventional teaching writing strategy. The data for this study were gathered through the post-test which conducted after those two groups were given different treatment for six meetings. After that, the research data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics analysis and inferential statistics analysis. The result of descriptive statistics analysis showed that the experimental group had better performance in writing where the experimental group’s mean score (88.85) was higher than the control group’s mean score (78.29). Furthermore, in inferential statistics analysis, it was found that the observed t value of 3.240 (tobs) was higher than the t critical value of 2.06 (tcv) at standard alpha level (α = .05). It means the null hypothesis was rejected in favour of the alternative hypothesis. Therefore, it could be confirmed that there was a significant effect on the tenth grade students’ writing achievement in recount text by the combination of Idea-Details and P.O.W.E.R.S. strategy.keyword : Idea-Details strategy, P.O.W.E.R.S. strategy, Recount Text, Writing Achievement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi penggunaan tehnik Think Talk Write dan Mind Mapping dalam menulis paragraf deskriptif untuk kelas delapan di SMP Laboratorium Undiksha Singaraja. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian perbandingan. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampling acak sebagai tehnik menentukan sampel. Kelompok 1 diajarkan dengan menggunakan tehnik Think Talk Write dan Kelompok 2 diajarkan menggunakan tehnik Mind Mapping. Data dari penelitian ini didapat dari melakukan tes tulis. Nilai rata-rata kelompok 1 = 86.0, sedangkan kelompok 2 = 75.6. Kemudian data terseut di analisis menggunakan formula uji t. Hasil test menunjukkan bahwa nilai Sig. = 0.605, lebih tinggi dari 0.05. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 (tobs = 7.375). Ini menunjukkan Sig. (2-tailed) kurang dari tingkat alpha standar yaitu 0.05. Jadi, hipotesa alternatif diterima. Ada perbedaan yang signifikan pada penggunaan tehnik Think Talk Write dan Mind Mapping tehnik dalam menulis paragraf deskriptif. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran kolaboratif memberikan efek yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa.Kata Kunci : mind mapping, pembelajaran kolaboratif, think talk write This study aimed to investigate the use of Think Talk Write and Mind Mapping technique of teaching writing descriptive text to the eighth-grade students of SMP Laboratorium Undiksha Singaraja. The study was a comparative study. This study uses cluster random sampling as the sampling technique. The group 1 was taught by using Think Talk Write technique and the group 2 was taught by using Mind Mapping technique. The data of the test were collected by administering a written test. Abstract

This study aimed at exploring the phonological and lexical variation viewed from age differences which occurred in Lemukih and Galungan village. This research was a descriptive qualitative research. There were 10 informant samples from both Lemukih and Galunganvillage were chosen based on predetermined criteria. The data were collected based on researcher as the main instrument and four other additional instruments namely: observation, interview, word list and recording. The results of the study show that, 1) there is an indication of phonological variation such asunpacking,haplology, syncope, aphaeresis and apocope, 2) there is an indication of lexical variation such as semasiological variation,onomasiological variation,formal variation and contextual variation, 3) the reason of a tendency of dialect variation viewed by age differences in both Lemukih and Galungan dialect is the development of the technology which leads to the broader access into villages and begin to imitate dialects outside of one’s villages Kata Kunci : dialect,phonological variation, lexical variation, age differences This study aimed at exploring the phonological and lexical variation viewed from age differences which occurred in Lemukih and Galungan village. Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari teknik perancah terhadap kemampuan siswa untuk menulis teks deskriptif dan untuk menggambarkan komponen mana yang sebagian besar dipengaruhi oleh teknik perancah pada tulisan siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah Post-Test Only Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah delapan siswa kelas VIII Negeri 2 Selat dan sampel penelitiannya dipilih dengan menggunakan Cluster Random Sampling. Sampel terdiri dari 68 siswa. Kelas VIII D ditugaskan sebagai kelompok eksperimen yang diajar dengan menggunakan teknik "Perancah" dan kelas VIII E sebagai kelompok kontrol yang diajar dengan menggunakan "teknik konvensional". Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa siswa dalam kelompok eksperimen lebih baik daripada siswa dalam kelompok kontrol. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil statistik deskriptif yang menunjukkan skor rata-rata kelompok eksperimen adalah 79,71 sedangkan skor rata-rata kelompok kontrol adalah 75,35. Hasil uji t juga menunjukkan bahwa nilai tob lebih tinggi dari pada tcv. Nilai tob adalah 3,098, sedangkan nilai tcv adalah 1,668 (α = 0,5). Artinya ada pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan siswa antara siswa yang diajar dengan teknik perancah dan mereka yang diajar dengan teknik konvensional. Oleh karena itu hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima. Kata Kunci : Kata kunci: teknik perancah, teknik konvensional, kemampuan siswa Abstract This study was aimed at investigating whether or not there was a significant effect of the scaffolding technique on students’ ability to write descriptive text and to describe which of the component writing that mostly affected by the scaffolding technique on students writing. This research design was Post-test Only Control Group Design. The population in this study was eight grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Selat and the samples of study were selected by using Cluster Random Sampling. The samples consisted of 68 students. Class VIII D was assigned as the experimental group which was taught by using “Scaffolding technique” and class VIII E as the control group which was taught by using “conventional technique”. The result of the data analysis showed that students in the experimental group performed better than the students in the control group. It was proven by the result of the descriptive statistics that showed the mean score of the experimental group was 79.71 while the mean score of the control group was 75.35. The result of the t-test also showed that the value of the tob was higher than the tcv. The value of the tob was 3.098, while the value of the tcv was 1.668 (α = 0.5). It means that there was a significant effect on students’ ability between the students who were taught by using scaffolding technique and those who were taught by using the conventional technique. Abstract

Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kualitatif deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk menganalisa karakteristik dan faktor yang menyebabkan Bahasa Inggris Pidgin yang digunakan oleh para pedagang di pantai Tulamben. Subyek penelitian ini adalah tujuh pedagang berusia antara 35-45 tahun. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa peneliti sendiri, alat perekam, lemba robservasi, dan daftar wawancara. Data yang terkumpul dianalisa berdasarkan langkah-langkahan alisa yang diajukan oleh Gale, dkk (2013). Analisa karakteristik Bahasa Pidgin di dasarkan pada teoriIsa, Halilu, & Ahmed (2015) dan Holmes (1992). Sedangkan analisa factor penyebab Bahasa Pidgin didasarkan pada teori Richard dan Schmidt (2002 dalam Setiyono, 2012). Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa Bahasa Inggris Pidgin di pantai Tulamben sudah memenuhi criteria untuk bias diangap sebagai Bahasa Pidgin dengan mempertimbangkan fungsi bahasa, struktur bahasa dan ucapan yang digunakan. Sedangkan factor penyebabnya di identifikasi ada tiga faktor, yaitu factor bahasa, ekonomi dan pendidikan. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut maka disarankan kepada Pemda Karangasem untuk menyediakan pendidikan informal kepada para pedagang tersebut untuk meningkatkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris mereka menjadi Bahasa Inggris standar. Kata Kunci : pantai Tulamben, pidgin This study was a descriptive qualitative study aimed at analysing the characteristics and factors creating Pidgin English used by sellers in Tulamben Beach. There are seven sellers aged 35 – 45 years old as the subjects of this study. The instruments of this study were the researcher, recorder, observation sheet, and interview guide. The collected data were analyzed based on the steps of data analysis proposed by Gale, et al (2013). The analysis of characteristics of Pidgin is based on the theory proposed by Isa, Halilu, & Ahmed (2015) and Holmes (1992). Meanwhile, the analysis of factors creating Pidgin is based on theory proposed by Richard and Schmidt (2002, in Setiyono, 2012). This study found that Pidgin in Tulamben Beach has fulfilled the criteria of being pidgin which were considered from its language function, structure and pronunciation. There were three factors creating Pidgin in Tulamben, namely language, economic, and educational factors. Related to these findings, it is suggested that the government of Karangasem Regency should provide the sellers informal education in order to improve their English to be Standard English. keyword : pidgin, Tulamben beach

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis jenis dan sumber kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa-siswi untuk Tour dan Travel-Sun Lingua College (SLC) Singaraja pada Tahun Akademik 2017/2018. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Ini menggunakan purposive sampling dan subjeknya terdiri dari 24 siswa dan 1 guru tour dan travel. Data dikumpulkan melalui rekaman, penyebaran kuesioner dan wawancara dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan Surface Strategy Taxonomy oleh Dulay, Burt dan Krashen (1982). Ini tentang mengidentifikasi kesalahan, mengklasifikasikan kesalahan, menghitung kesalahan, menganalisis kuesioner dan hasil wawancara, melaporkan hasil analisis dan menarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada empat jenis kesalahan: kelalaian, penambahan, misformasi dan salah urut, yang dilakukan oleh siswa-siswi. Jumlah kesalahan total adalah 520 yang terdiri dari 43,9% kesalahan kelalaian, 30,8% kesalahan misformasi, 18,9% sebagai penambahan kesalahan, dan 6,6% kesalahan salah urut. Penelitian tersebut menemukan bahwa sumber kesalahan adalah kesalahan antarbahasa serta kesalahan intrabahasa.Kata Kunci : tata bahasa, kesalahan-kesalahan, kesalahan antarbahasa, kesalahan intrabahasa This study aimed at analyzing the types and sources of errors committed by the students of Tour and Travel–Sun Lingua College (SLC) Singaraja in Academic Year of 2017/2018. This study is a descriptive qualitative research. It applied purposive sampling and the subjects of which consisted of 24 students and 1 tour and travel teacher. The data were collected through recording, distributing questionnaire and interview and analyzed by using Surface Strategy Taxonomy by Dulay, Burt and Krashen (1982). It was about identifying the errors, classifying the errors, calculating the errors, analyzing the questionnaire and the result of the interview, reporting the result of the analysis and drawing the conclusion. The results of the study show that there were four types of errors: omission, addition, misformation and misordering, committed by the students. The total numbers of errors were 520 which consisted of 43.9% in omission errors, 30.8% in misformation errors, 18.9% in addition errors, and 6.6% in misordering errors. The study found that the sources of errors were interlingual error as well as intralingual error.keyword : grammar, errors, interlingual error, intralingual error

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis syok budaya yang dialami oleh orang Denmark di Singaraja. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Peneliti menganalisis fungsi bahasa dari culture shock, bagaimana cara mengatasi budaya Bali, dan bagaimana caranya beradaptasi dengan budaya. Ada dua bentuk di culture shock, diantaranya adalah verbal komunikasi dan non-verbal komunikasi. Subjek di dalam penelitian ini adalah tiga orang Denmark yang tinggal di Singaraja. Data ini diambil melalui wawancara semi-struktur dan semi secara tidak terstruktur Data tersebut diperoleh melalui wawancara dan rekaman suara. Teori yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data adalah teori dari Pederson (1995). Hasil dari penelitian ini terbukti bakwa ada dua puluh syok budaya di verbal komunikasi dan non-verbal komunikasi dari orang Denmark di Singaraja. Ada sepuluh syok budaya in verbal kommunikasi dan sepuluh syok budaya di non-verbal komunikasi. Fungsi bahasa yang ada di verbal komiunikasi adalah sapaan, pengenalan diri, menanyakan informasi, makanan orang Bali, rumah orang Bali, transportasi, hubungan antara manusia, waktu, kebersihan, dan pemerintahan. Fungsi bahasa yang digunakan di non-verbal komunikasi adalah melambaikan tangan, menyentuh kepala, memberi jempol, banyak senyum, interaksi mata, jarak, berjabat tangan, sapaan, berpelukan, dan perbedaan antara tangan kanan dan tangan kiri. Ada beberapa cara orang Denmark mengatasi syok budaya, diantaranya adalah dengan bertanya ke orang Bali, pemandu wisata, membaca buku, dan menyesuaikan dengan budaya Bali. Kata Kunci : Syok Budaya, Non-verbal komunikasi, Verbal Komunikasi. This study aimed at analyzing the culture shock phenomena experienced by Danish tourists in Singaraja. This research was a descriptive qualitative research. The researcher analyzed the language functions of culture shock, how to adjust the culture, and how to adapt the culture. There were two forms, namely verbal communication and non-verbal communication. The subjects of this research were three Danish tourists who live in Singaraja. The data were obtained through semi-structure and semi-unstructured interview. The interview guide and voice recorder were used to collect the data. The theory was used to analyze the data was from Pederson (1995). The results of this study show that there were twenty phenomena of culture shock in verbal and non-verbal communication experienced by the Danish tourists in Singaraja. Ten culture shock phenomena were in verbal communication, and ten culture shock phenomena in non-verbal communication. The language functions of the culture shock in verbal communication were related to greeting, introduction, asking information, Balinese food, Balinese house, transportation, human relation, time management, cleanness, and government. The language function of culture shock in non-verbal communication were related to waving hands, touching head, giving thumb, more smiling, eye contact, space, shaking hand, greeting, hugging, and the different between right hand and left hand. The Danish tourists adjust their culture shock, such as asking information to local people, tour guide, reading Bali culture, and organized based on rules in Bali. keyword : Culture Shock, Non-verbal Communication, Verbal Communication.
