Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari perbedaan fonologis dan variasi leksikal pada dialek di desa Tigawasa dan dialek di desa Dencarik. Penelitiaan ini di disain secara deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan 3 informan di tiap-tiap desa. Dimana diantaranya, 3 informan di desa Tigawasa dan 3 informan di desa Dencarik. Semua informan dipilih sesuai dengan kriteria yang sudah ditentukan. Penelitian ini menggunakan 3 instrumen di dalam mengumpulkan data. 1. Peneliti, 2. Lis kata atau daftar kata dari Swadesh dan Nothofer, dan 3 .Perekam suara. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menggunakan 4 teknik dalam mengumpulkan. 1. Observasi, 2. Merekam, 3. Mencatat, dan 4. Interview. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa ada 6 indikasi variasi fonologis, yaitu syncope, apocope, prothesis, epenthesis, paragoge, dan haplology. Hasil selanjutnya adalah adanya 4 indikasi variasi leksikal, yaitu semasiological variation, onomasiological variation, formal variation and contextual variation. Kata Kunci : dialek, variasi fonologi, variasi leksikal Abstract This study aimed at exploring the differences of Tigawasa and Dencarik dialect viewed from phonological and lexical variation. This research was a descriptive qualitative research. In this research, there were 3 informant samples from Tigawasa village and 3 informant samples from Dencarik village. All of the informants were chosen based on a set of criteria. The obtained data were collected based on three instruments, namely: researcher, word lists (swadesh and nothofer) and recorder. This study also used four techniques namely: observation, recording, note-taking, and interview. The results of the study show that, 1) there were 6 indications of phonological variarion, such as; syncope, apocope, prothesis, epenthesis, paragoge and haplology, 2) there were 4 indications of lexical variation, such as; semasiological variation, onomasiological variation, formal variation and contextual variation. keyword : dialect, phonological variation, lexical variation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan persamaan fonologis dan leksikal antara dialek Perean dan dialek Taro. Penelitian ini didesain dalam bentuk penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan karakteristik sinkronis. Data yang telah diperoleh dalam bentuk kata diidentifikasi dengan menggunakan daftar kata Swadesh, daftar kata Nothofer, dan daftar kata Holle. Data didapatkan dengan menggunakan teknik observasi, rekaman, dan catatan. Dalam mengumpulkan data, dipilih tiga narasumber pada setiap dialek. Hasil dari penelitin ini menunjukan bahwa ada 46 fonem yang telah dibuktikan sama di antara kedua dialek. Mereka adalah: 1) enam vokal /ʌ/,/i/,/u/,/ɛ/,/ɒ/, and /ə/; 2) delapan diftong /ʌɪ/, /ʌu/, /ʌɛ/, /ʌɒ/, /ɪʌ/, /ɪu/, /uʌ/, and /ʊʌ/; 3) lima geminates /ʌʌ/, /ɪɪ/, /ʊʊ/, /ɒɒ/, and /əə/; 4) sembilan belas konsonan /p/, /b/, /t/, /d/, /k/, /g/, /ʔ/, /s/, /c/, /j/, /l/, /h/, /m/, /n/, / ñ /, /ŋ/, /r/, /w/, and /y/; and 5) delapan konsonan kluster /kl/, /bl/, /ml/, /kr/, /pr/, /mp/, /mb/, dan /ŋkKata Kunci : diftong, fonologi, geminate, kata, konsonan, konsonan kluster, Perean Dialek, Taro Dialek, vokal. This research aimed at describing the phonological and lexical similarities between Perean Dialect and Taro Dialect. This research was designed in the form of descriptive qualitative study which has synchronic characteristics. The obtained data was in the forms of lexicon identified by using Swadesh’s, Nothofer’s, and Holle’s Wordlist. The data were collected through observation, recording, and note taking techniques. The sources of data were three informants from each dialect were selected by using a set of criteria. The results of this research show that there are 46 phonemes have been proven the same from both dialects. They are: 1) six vowels /ʌ/,/i/,/u/,/ɛ/,/ɒ/, and /ə/; 2) eight diphthongs /ʌɪ/, /ʌu/, /ʌɛ/, /ʌɒ/, /ɪʌ/, /ɪu/, /uʌ/, and /ʊʌ/; 3) five geminates /ʌʌ/, /ɪɪ/, /ʊʊ/, /ɒɒ/, and /əə/; 4) nineteen consonants /p/, /b/, /t/, /d/, /k/, /g/, /ʔ/, /s/, /c/, /j/, /l/, /h/, /m/, /n/, / ñ /, /ŋ/, /r/, /w/, and /y/; and 5) eight consonant clusters /kl/, /bl/, /ml/, /kr/, /pr/, /mp/, /mb/, and /ŋk/. From the three wordlists, this research found that there are 1297 words which were exactly the same and 181 words which were similar from both Perean Dialect and Taro Dialect.keyword : consonants, consonant clusters, diphthong, geminate, lexicon, Perean Dialect, phonology, Taro Dialect, vowels.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki pengalaman budaya yang dialami oleh sukarelawan guru bahasa Inggris dan gejala syok budaya yang dihadapi oleh sukarelawan guru bahasa Inggris di Bumi Sehat’s Youth Center. Peneliti menggunakan metode fenomenologis dan pendekatan kualitatif untuk mengetahui jawaban permasalahan dari penelitian ini. Data diambil dari tiga sukarelawan guru bahasa Inggris melalui wawancara dan kuesioner. Analisis tersebut menunjukkan bahwa ada sepuluh pengalaman budaya yang dialami oleh sukarelawan guru bahasa Inggris di Bumi Sehat’s Youth Center. Relawan guru bahasa Inggris mengalami pengalaman budaya yang mengacu pada kejutan budaya (fisik, kognitif atau perilaku) saat mereka masuk dalam budaya atau lingkungan baru yang dimana lingkungan mereka berbeda dengan kota asal mereka. Kesepuluh pengalaman budaya yang dialami oleh sukarelawan guru bahasa Inggris adalah makanan yang berbeda, dua masalah orang Bali, lingkungan, transportasi, perbedaan budaya, masalah tidur, depresi, laju kehidupan, dan iklim. Di sisi lain, relawan guru bahasa Inggris mengalami gejala syok budaya dalam dua minggu pertama. Semua relawan guru bahasa Inggris merasa rindu rumah dan salah satu dari mereka jatuh sakit.Kata Kunci : pengalaman berbudaya, syok budaya The study aimed at investigating the cultural experiences that experienced by English teacher volunteers and the symptoms of culture shock faced by English teacher volunteers in Bumi Sehat’s Youth Center. The researcher used phenomenological method and qualitative approach in finding out the answer of the problems of the study. The data were taken from three English teacher volunteers through interview and questionnaire. The analysis reveals that there are ten cultural experiences that the English teacher volunteers experienced in Bumi Sehat’s Youth Center. The English teacher volunteers experienced the cultural experiences that refers to culture shock (physical, cognitive or behavior) when they were entering in a new culture or environment where was different with their home town. Those ten cultural experiences that experienced by English teacher volunteers are different food, two Balinese people problems, environment, transportation, cultural differences, sleep problem, depression, pace of life, and climate. On the other hand, English teacher volunteers were faced symptom of culture shock in first two week. All of the English teacher volunteers were felt homesick and one of them get sick.keyword : cultural experience, culture shock

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki strategi komunikasi yang digunakan oleh penjual di dalam berkomunikasi dengan turis di pantai Lovina. Penelitian ini berbentuk deskriptif melibatkan qualitative dan quantitative analisis. Penelitian ini bertempat di pantai Lovina, kabupaten Buleleng. Objek dari penelitian ini adalah strategi komunikasi yang digunakan oleh penjual di pantai Lovina. Narasumber terdiri dari dua penjual. Dari hasil menunjukkan bahwa, ada delapan jenis strategi komunikasi yang digunakan oleh penjual di pantai Lovina. Jenis strategi komunikasi tersebut adalah approximation, foreignizing, code switching, code-based confirmation check, omission, topic avoidance, message abandonment, dan circumlocution. Jenis strategi komunikasi yang paling sering digunakan adalah approximation. Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa ada dua alasan utama mengapa para penjual menggunakan strategi komunikasi ketika mereka berkomunikasi dengan para turis.Kata Kunci : strategi komunikasi, penjual, orang asing This study aimed to investigate the communication strategies used by shop keepers in communicating with tourists in Lovina Beach. The study was in the form of a descriptive study involving qualitative and quantitative analysis. The study was conducted in Lovina beach, Buleleng regency. The objects of this study were communication strategies used by shop keepers in Lovina Beach. The informants of this study were two shop keepers. The result of analysis showed that there were eight types of communication strategies applied by the shop keepers in Lovina beach. Those types of communication strategies were approximation, foreignizing, code switching, code-based confirmation check, omission, topic avoidance, message abandonment, and circumlocution. The type of communication strategy used most frequently was approximation. Abstract

This qualitative research describes Phonological system of Balinese language. The aim of this study was 1) To find out the vowel phonemes of Balinese language in Pedawa Dialect and their distribution, 2) To find out the diphthong Balinese language used in Pedawa dialect, 3) To find out the consonant phonemes of Balinese language in Pedawa dialect and their distribution, 4) To find out the consonant clusters that are used in Pedawa dialect. The main instrument was the researcher, and the researcher also used the other instruments namely, recorder and a word list. The data were gathered by conducting observation, recording and interview techniques. The result of this research can be describe that (1) there were 28 phonemes of Balinese language in Pedawa dialect. Those phoneme were /ʌ/, /i/, /u/, /e/, /o/, /ǝ//p/, /b/, /t/, /d/, /k/, /g/, /ʔ/, /s/, /c/, /j/, /l/, /h/, /m/, /n/, /ñ/, /ŋ/, /r/, /w/, /y/ /ʌi/, /ʌe/, /ʌɛ/ that consist of 6 vowels, 3 diphthongs and 19 consonants. Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalsis fenomena geger budaya yang dialami oleh siswa asing yang datang ke Bali untuk belajar tentang budaya Bali di UPT Bahasa Undiksha yang merupakan i salah satu tempat untuk belajar bagi para siswa asing. Di sana mereka belajar tentang budaya, bahasa,makanan khas Bali, dan lain-lain. Peneliti membatasi penelitian pada analisis fenomena geger budaya yang berhubungan dengan komunikasi verbal dan komunikasi nonverbal. Desain dari penelitian ini adalah desain penelitian deskritif kualitatif. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah tiga siswa asing yang belajar tentang budaya di ULB Undiksha Singaraja. Peneliti mengumpulkan data dengan menggunakan wawancara terstruktur dan tidak terstruktur. Selain itu peneliti juga mengumpulkan data dengan cara memberikan kuesioner kepada tiga siswa asing yang belajar di UPT Bahasa. Instrumen utama dari penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri. Instrumen-instrumen lain yang digunakan adalah pedoman wawancara, perekam suara, kuesioner dan catatan. Teori yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data adalah teori dari Pedersen. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada sebelas fenomena geger budaya yang ditemukan dalam komunikasi verbal dan lima fenomena dalam komunikasi nonverbal. Dari semua fenomena geger budaya, siswa mengalami geger budaya pada kebiasaan penduduk lokal,transportasi dan pasar tradisional. Selain itu para siswa asing mempunyai cara untuk mengatasi geger budaya tersebut seperti meminta informasi kepada penduduk lokal, mengikuti dengan hal yang sama, mecari solusi dengan cara mereka sendiri dan saling menghormati antar sesama budaya. Data dari hasil observasi, wawancara dan pemberian kuesioner menyatakan masalah dari siswa asing dalam beradaptasi dengan lingkukan baru selama belajar di UPT Bahasa Undiksha Singaraja dan tinggal di Bali. Kata Kunci : Kata kunci: Geger budaya, komunikasi verbal, dan komunikasi nonverbal Abstract This study aimed at analyzing the culture shock phenomena experienced by foreign students who come to Bali to study about culture especially in UPT Bahasa (Language Service Unite) Undiksha as one of the places for foreign students. In UPT Bahasa they study about culture, Bahasa Indonesia, Balinese food. The researcher limited her study to an analysis of the culture shock that is related to verbal communication and non-verbal communication. The design of this study was a qualitative research design. The subjects of this research were three foreign students who studied about Indonesian culture in UPT Bahasa Undiksha. The researcher collected the data by using semi structured interview and semi unstructured interview. The researcher also gave questionnaire to those three foreign students. The main instrument of this study was the researcher herself. Other instruments were interview guide, voice recorder, questionnaire, and note. The data in this research were analyzed with Pedersen’s theory. The result of this research showed that there were ten culture shock phenomena of verbal communication and five culture shock phenomena in non-verbal communication. From all the culture shock phenomena, the students experienced culture shock in the habit of local people, transportation and the traditional market. , The foreign students had some ways to overcome the culture shock such as by asking information to local people, trying to do something, thinking about the solution by themselves to overcome the culture shock, and respecting the different culture. The data from observation, interview and questionnaire revealed that the foreign students adapted to the new environment during their studies in UPT Undiksha and during their stay in Bali. keyword : Keywords: Culture shock, non-verbal communication, verbal communication.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis perbandingan gegar budaya yang dialami turis Belanda dan turis Denmark selama tinggal di Singaraja. Penelitian ini menganalisis gegar budaya terkait dengan komunikasi lisan dan tidak lisan. Data dianalisis berdasarkan teori dari Pederson (1995). Penelitian ini mengacu pada peneilitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah tiga turis Belanda dan tiga turis Denmark. Peneliti mengumpulkan data dengan teknik wawancara terstruktur dan tidak terstruktur. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam komunikasi lisan, ada lima persamaan gegar budaya dialami turis Belanda dan Denmark yaitu menyapa, perkenalan, pertanyaan pribadi, merekomendasikan, dan membuat janji. Dalam komunikasi tidak langsung yaitu tersenyum, kontak mata, interaksi sentuhan, jarak, bersendawa, dan gerak-gerik kepala. Perbedaan keduanya adalah turis Belanda mengalami enam gegar budaya, diantaranya mengingatkan, berterima kasih, menawarkan, meminta maaf, mengundang, dan bersiul. Sementara turis Denmark mengalami lima gegar budaya dalam menyarankan, menghakimi, melarang, menolak, dan memotong pembicaraan. Dalam komunikasi tidak lisan, turis Belanda mengalami lima gegar budaya, diantaranya dengan dua tangan menyapa, menggeretakkan jari tangan, tersenyum, makan dengan tangan, dan mengedipkan mata. Sedangkan, turis Denmark mengalami tujuh gegar budaya, yaitu melambai, penguatan, bersalaman, mencangkupkan tangan, memeluk, dan penggunaan tangan kiri kanan. Untuk mengatasi gegar budaya, mereka menayakan informasi kepada pemandu atau orang local, meniru, dan menyesuaikan diri sesuai aturan yang ada di Bali. Masalah dari turis Belanda dan Denmark adalah meniru budaya baru. The result of this study shows that in verbal communication, there are five similarities of culture shock experienced by Dutch and Danish tourists, namely: greeting, introducing, asking personally, recommending, and making appointment. In non-verbal communication, there are five similarities of culture shock phenomena, namely: smiling, eye contact, touch interaction, space, belch, and head movement. However, Dutch tourists experienced six culture shock, namely: reminding, thanking, offering, apologizing, inviting, and whistling, while Danish tourists experienced five culture shock, namely: suggesting, judging, prohibiting, refusing, and interrupting. In non-verbal communication, Dutch tourists experienced five culture shock, namely: two hands greeting, snapping fingers, smiling, use hand in eating, and winking. Danish tourists experienced seven culture shock, namely: waving hands, thumb reinforcement, smiling, shaking hand, covering hands, hugging, and the right and left hand. To overcome the culture shock phenomena, they conducted something as follows: asking information to their tour guide or local people, imitating the local people’s habits, and organizing themselves based on the rule in Bali. Dutch and Danish tourists’ problems were in copying the communications of new culture. keyword : Culture shock, differences, similarities.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan sebuah video instruksional pembelajaran berbasis Inquiry yang dilengkapi dengan buku manualnya berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini dan menggambarkan fitur serta kualitas video yang dikembangkan termasuk buku manual. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Penelitian D & D yang mengadaptasi model Dick dan Carey. Data dari penelitian ini akan dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Subyek penelitian ini adalah tiga guru bahasa Inggris SMP di Kabupaten Buleleng yang bertujuan untuk mengumpulkan data analisis kebutuhan dan dua dosen Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris UNDIKSHA untuk mengumpulkan data tentang kualitas produk yang dikembangkan. Selain itu, objek penelitian ini adalah video pembelajaran berbasis Inquiry. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi, daftar periksa, catatan, pedoman wawancara, dan rubrik penilaian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata dari kedua ahli adalah 4,4; oleh karena itu video instruksional ini termasuk dalam kategori baik. Perbaikan produk yang disarankan dari hasil penilaian ahli meliputi perbaikan pada beberapa bagian video seperti kualitas audio, kecerahan, dan stabilitas beberapa adegan. Maka dari itu, produk ini sudah dikategorikan sebagai produk yang bagus.Kata Kunci : Kurikulum 2013, Video Instruksional, Pembelajaran Berbasis Inquiry, Pembelajaran Berpusat pada Siswa. The purpose of the present research was to develop an Inquiry-based learning instructional video supplemented with its manual book based on the needs analysis conducted in this study and describe the features as well as the quality of the developed video including the manual book. This research employed a D&D Research Design adapting Dick and Carey model. The data would be analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The subjects of this study were three junior high school English teachers in Buleleng regency to gather needs analysis data and two lecturers of English Education Department UNDIKSHA to collect data about the quality of the product developed. Besides, the object was Inquiry-based learning instructional video. The instruments used in this study were observation sheet, checklist, note, interview guide, and scoring rubric. The results of this research showed that the mean from both of expert judgments was 4.4; therefore this instructional video belonged to the good category. Suggested product improvements from the expert judgments result included fixing some parts of the video such as the audio quality, brightness, and stability of some scenes. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan video instruksional Pengajaran Bahasa Berbasis Tugas yang dilengkapi dengan buku panduannya berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini dan menggambarkan fitur serta kualitas video yang dikembangkan termasuk buku manual. Penelitian ini menggunakan D & D Research Design yang mengadaptasi model Dick dan Carey. Data akan dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Subyek penelitian ini adalah tiga guru bahasa Inggris SMP di Kabupaten Buleleng untuk mengumpulkan data analisis kebutuhan dan dua orang dosen Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris UNDIKSHA untuk mengumpulkan data tentang kualitas produk yang dikembangkan. Selain itu, objek dari penelitian ini adalah video instruksional Pengajaran Bahasa Berbasis Tugas. Penelitian ini menggunakan lembar observasi, daftar periksa, catatan, pedoman wawancara, dan rubrik penilaian sebagai instrumen untuk mengumpulkan data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata dari kedua penilaian ahli adalah 4,5; Oleh karena itu video instruksional ini termasuk dalam kategori baik. Peningkatan produk yang disarankan dari hasil keputusan ahli mencakup prbaikan di beberapa bagian video seperti kualitas audio dan stabilitas beberapa adegan. Maka dari itu, produk yang di kembangkan sudah dikategorikan sebagai produk yang bagus.Kata Kunci : Kurikulum 2013, Video Instruksional, Pengajaran Bahasa Berbasis Tugas, Instruksi yang berpusat pada siswa (SCI). This present research was aimed at developing a Task-based Language Teaching instructional video supplemented with its manual book based on the needs analysis conducted in this research and describing the features as well as the quality of the developed video including the manual book. This research utilized a D&D Research Design adapting Dick and Carey model. The data would be analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The subjects of this research were three junior high school English teachers in Buleleng regency to gather needs analysis data and two lecturers of English Education Department UNDIKSHA to collect data about the quality of the product developed. Besides, the object was Task-based language teaching instructional video. This research used observation sheet, checklist, note, interview guide, and scoring rubric as the instrument to collect the data. The results of this research showed that the mean from both of expert judgments was 4.5; therefore this instructional video belonged to the good category. Suggested product improvements from the expert judgments result included fixing some parts of the video such as the audio quality and stability of some scenes. Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan awalan dan akhiran dari bahasa Bali lisan di desa Penyabangan yang memiliki proses derivasi dan infleksi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Dua contoh informan dipilih berdasarkan kriteria. Data dikumpulkan berdasarkan tiga tehnik, yaitu: observasi, tehnik perekaman, dan tehnik wawancara. Beberapa instrument yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data yaitu peneliti itu sendiri, alat perekam digital, kamera, list pertanyaan. Ada tiga proses dalam menganalisis data, diantaranya data reduction, data display dan conclusion drawing.Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa ada dua jenis awalan di bahasa Bali lisan di desa Penyabangan: awalan {me-} dan {N-}. Ada tiga jenis akhiran di bahasa Bali lisan di desa Penyabangan: akhiran {-ang}, {-in} dan {-e}. Awalan dan akhiran di bahasa Bali lisan di desa Penyabangan yang memiliki proses derivasi yaitu awalan {me-}, {N-}, dan akhiran {-ang} dan {-in}. Awalan dan akhiran di bahasa Bali lisan di desa Penyabangan yang mempunyai proses infleksi adalah awalan {N-} dan akhiran {-e}, {-ang} dan {-in}. Kata Kunci : Awalan dan akhiran, Bahasa Bali lisan di Penyabangan, Morfologi derivasi,Morfologi infleksi Abstract The study aimed at describing the kinds of prefixes and suffixes of Balinese language spoken in Penyabangan village which has derivational and inflectional process. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. There are two informant samples chosen based on a set of criteria. The obtained data are collected based on three techniques, namely: observation, recording, and interview techniques. The instruments used to collect the data are the researcher, digital recorder, camera, and question list. There are three steps of analyzing the data, those are: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verifying. The results of this study show that there are two kinds of prefixes of Balinese language spoken in Penyabangan village; prefix {me-} and {N-}. There are three kinds of suffixes of Balinese language spoken in Penyabangan village; suffix {-ang}, {-in} and {-e}. Prefixes and suffixes Balinese language spoken in Penyabangan village that have derivational process are prefix {me-}, {N-} and suffix {-ang} and {-in}.
