Abstract

The study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of guided training techniques in learning creative writing through whatsapp media during the corona pandemic (covid-19). The population in this study were students of the Indonesian language and literature education study program, Sanata Dharma University totaling 17 people who took creative writing classes. The method used in this research is experiment. Researchers use quasi-experimental methods or pre-experimental design. The experimental design used in this study is one-group pretest-posttest design. Researchers only use one group without requiring a comparison group. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used in this study is descriptive statistics. Based on the results of the study note that the learning of creative writing using guided training techniques through whatsapp media is carried out according to the principles and characteristics of interactive learning. Then there are differences in the average value between pretest and posttest. Posttest value is greater than pretest (75.05> 66.58). This shows that the use of guided training techniques in learning creative writing through whatsapp media is effective. Keyword: effectiveness, guided training techniques, whatsapp media, creative writing  AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan teknik latihan terbimbing dalam pembelajaran menulis kreatif melalui media whatsapp. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program studi pendidikan bahasa dan sastra Indonesia, Universitas Sanata Dharma berjumlah 17 orang yang mengikuti kelas menulis kreatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen. Peneliti menggunakan metode eksperimen semu atau pre-Experimental design. Desain eksperimen yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini yaitu one-group pretest-posttest design. Peneliti hanya memakai satu kelompok tanpa memerlukan kelompok pembanding. Sementara itu, teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah statistik deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa pembelajaran menulis kreatif menggunakan teknik latihan terbimbing melalui whatsapp dilakukan sesuai prinsip pembelajaran interaktif. Kemudian terdapat perbedaan nilai rata-rata antara pretes dan postes. Nilai postes lebih besar daripada pretes (75,05 > 66,58). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan teknik latihan terbimbing dalam pembelajaran menulis kreatif melalui media whatsapp efektif. Kata kunci: efektifitas, teknik latihan terbimbing, media whatsapp, menulis kreatif

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki dua tujuan yakni mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang terdapat dalam tradisi lisan Teda pada upacara Padede Uma Kalada dan merumuskan strategi preservasi tradisi lisan Teda melalui ranah pendidikan. Analisis nilai kearifan lokal dalam penelitian ini dikaji dengan menggunakan perspektif ekolinguistik metaforis. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah metode simak, wawancara etnografis dan studi pustaka. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan lima nilai kearifan lokal, yakni nilai ketaatan, religius, persatuan, rekonsiliasi dan syukur. Upaya preservasi nilai kearifan lokal dalam tradisi lisan Teda melalui ranah pendidikan dapat dilakukan melalui kegiatan kurikuler dan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler. Kegiatan kurikuler dapat dilakukan melalui kegiatan pembelajaran bahasa dan sastra serta muatan lokal. Sementara itu, kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dapat dilakukan dengan membentuk kelompok minat dan bakat yang mengikutsertakan unsur kebudayaan di dalamnya. This research has two objectives namely to describe the values of local wisdom contained in the Teda oral tradition at the Padede Uma Kalada ceremony and to formulate a preservation strategy of the Teda oral tradition through the realm of education. The analysis of the value of local wisdom in this study is studied using a metaphorical ecolinguistic perspective. The methods used to collect data are observation, etnography interview methods and literature review. Based on the research results, it was found that there were five values of local wisdom, namely the values of obedience, religion, unity, reconciliation and gratitude. The preservation of local wisdom values in the Teda oral tradition through the realm of education can be done through curricular activities and extracurricular activities. Curricular activities can be carried out through language and literature learning activities as well as local content. Meanwhile, extracurricular activities can be carried out by forming interest and talent groups that include cultural elements in them.

Abstract

It is always possible to combine the field of language with other fields which may be irrelevant, but there is a possibility to develop the fields synergistically. Cyberpragmatics can be seen as a transdisciplinary field, because it includes complex dimensions, namely language, pragmatics, technology, media, internet, and possibly other dimensions as well. This article aims to describe contexts in cyberpragmatics. The data was collected from utterances in various domains which contained context entities. The substantive data source was taken from authentic texts in various social media which also contained context. As for the locative data source, it was from social media that could be reached within the time of research. The data was collected by applying listening method and interview method. The researcher also used his intuitive judgment given the fact that he is a native speaker of Indonesian language. The data analysis method applied in this research is distributional analysis method in order to reach the linguistic aspects of this research. The dominant analytical method used is the extralingual type of extralinguistic method of analysis. The analysis showed that various pragmatic contexts were found, which include social context, societal context, cultural context, and situational context. The diverse contexts may change and shift over time. The context of the past cannot be the same as the context of the present and future. The elements and functions of the context will definitely shift and change so that the meaning of speech intentions in cyberpragmatics will also change.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the virtual external context landscape in a pragmatic study with a cyber perspective. The research problem of cyber pragmatics is formulated as follows: How is the virtual external context landscape in the perspective of cyber pragmatics? The object of this research is the manifestation of the virtual external context landscape in the perspective of cyber pragmatics. The data of this research are utterances which contain the virtual external context landscape. The data sources of this research are natural texts which contain data about the virtual external context landscape as the source of the substantive data. The source of locational data is natural texts obtained from social media Twitter. The data collection method applied is the see method. The techniques used for listening are recording techniques and note-taking techniques. The last step in data collection is typification so that data types are produced that are ready to be subjected to data analysis methods and techniques. There are two methods applied to analyze the research data, namely the distributional method and the equivalent method. The distributional method is used to reach the linguistic aspects, while the equivalent method is used to reach the external linguistic aspects of this research. The results of this cyber pragmatics research show that the manifestation of the virtual external context landscape is different from the conventional external context landscape. Differences in landscape manifestations can occur in the elements of the context which are the impact of technological developments. In addition, differences in landscape manifestations can also occur in aspects of these context elements as a result of the development of information technology and digital technology as well as internet technology. The landscape aspects of the context elements must be well formulated so that the meaning of speech intentions in the cyber pragmatics perspective can be carried out properly. Inaccuracy in the formulation of the virtual external context landscape will cause the meaning of speech intent to give rise to many misunderstandings. The results of this study are expected to contribute a lot to the development of pragmatics so that pragmatics develops not only systemic pragmatics, general pragmatics, and pragmatics in a culture-specific perspective, but also pragmatics (cyberpragmatics) whose development still needs to be encouraged in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract The objective of this research is to describe the triadic functions of the situational context in the perspective of cyberpragmatics. The research data include excerpts of natural utterances from social media containing triadic meanings and embedded in the situational contexts. Thus, the digital data sources were taken from the utterances in the social media, especially Twitter and  Instagram. The data were collected by applying the observation method and interview method. The observation method included involved interview and uninvolved interview techniques. The interview methods were face-to-face and indirect interviews and the techniques were prompting, recording, and note-taking. The triadic utterances and their situational contexts were identified, selected, and classified into types of data. Further, the types of data were analyzed. The data analysis was carried out using the identity method, particularly the extralingual identity method. The results of the research show that there are five types of triadicity found in the situational context of the cyberpragmatics. They are the triadic function of situational context: (1) to determine the pragmatic meaning of an utterance, (2) as the background of the pragmatic meaning of an utterance, (3) to emphasize the pragmatic meaning of an utterance, (4) to explain the pragmatic meaning of an utterance, (5) to explicate the pragmatic meaning of an utterance. Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan fungsi ketriadisan konteks situasi dalam perspektif pragmatik siber. Data penelitian ini berupa cuplikan tuturan natural manusia yang mengandung makna triadis di dalamnya dan berbalut konteks situasional di sekelilingnya. Data dikumpulkan dengan menerapkan metode simak dan metode cakap. Metode simak yang diterapkan berjenis libat cakap dan non-libat cakap dengan teknik rekam dan teknik catat. Adapun metode cakap yang diterapkan adalah metode cakap semuka dan metode cakap tansemuka yang disertai dengan teknik pancing dan teknik catat serta teknik rekam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan lima ketriadisan fungsi konteks situasional dalam pragmatik siber, yakni: (1) Ketriadisan fungsi konteks sebagai penentu makna pragmatik tuturan, (2) Ketriadisan fungsi konteks sebagai pelatar belakang makna pragmatik tuturan, (3) Ketriadisan fungsi konteks sebagai penegas makna pragmatik tuturan, (4) Ketriadisan fungsi konteks sebagai penjelas makna pragmatik tuturan, (5) Ketriadisan fungsi konteks sebagai pemerinci makna pragmatik tuturan. Kata Kunci: function triadicity, situational context, cyberpragmatic perspective

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to describe the emoticon manifestation as a context of pragmatic meaning in the study of cyberpragmatics. The research data is in the form of utterances in which emoticons are the background for describing certain purposes. The data were collected using the reading method accompanied by note-taking techniques. The data collected were then classified and typified. The data that had been typified was validated by applying the expert triangualation method. In addition to expert triangulation, the authors also carried out theoretical triangulation. The analytical method used in this research was the contextual analysis method or equivalent analysis. The steps used in the analysis were sequentially selection, classification, interpretation. The results of the research on the function of emoticons as context were presented as follows: (1) Emoticons provide an illustration of the pragmatic meaning of being happy; (2) Emoticons emphasize the purpose of laughter; (3) Emoticons provide an illustration of the affirmation of the pragmatic meaning of happiness; (4) Emoticons illustrate the pragmatic meaning of doubt; (5) Emoticons provide an overview of the pragmatic meaning of smiling activity; (6) Emoticons describe a person who is feeling shy; (7) Emoticons illustrate the pragmatic meaning of a secret sense; (8) Emoticons describe the pragmatic meaning of feeling disappointed; (9) Emoticon background pragmatic meaning is very disappointed; (10) Emoticons illustrate the pragmatic meaning of liking something. Keywords:

Abstract

The Javanese phatic marker ‘sampun’ draws several interpretations to researchers. The variety of interpretation poses communication problems in the daily communication, especially for people that do not fully understand the Javanese language and culture. The data consisted of excerpts of utterances transcribed from the recording tape of full conversations containing the phatic ‘sampun’ as discourse markers. The data gathering methods employed in this research were observation and speaking methods. Both types of data gathering methods employed the basic and advanced techniques in their elaboration. After being classified and typified properly, the data was analyzed using the distributional analysis method and pragmatic identity method commonly used in a linguistic research. The research showed the following results namely (1)the cultural context to emphasize intention, (2) the cultural context to emphasize the speaker’s hope and expectation, (3) the cultural context to emphasize the speaker’s intention to convince the hearer, (4) the cultural context to emphasize the speaker’s intention to question the hearer, (5) the cultural context to emphasize the speaker’s intention to agree, (6) the cultural context to convey disappointment, (7) the cultural context to emphasize the speaker’s inconvenience.

Abstract

Abstrak Pengalaman masyarakat leluhur Nias terhadap alam menciptakan beragam leksikon tumbuhan obattradisional dalam li niha (bahasa daerah Nias). Kearifan leluhurnya dalam menggunakan alamseharusnya tetap diteruskan oleh generasi penerus agar tetap menjadi kekayaan dan ciri khas yangmelekat bagi masyarakat Nias. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui leksikon tumbuhan obattradisional dan mendeskripsikan makna leksikon tumbuhan obat tradisonal yang digunakan dalamtuturan masyarakat Nias. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulandata berupa studi pustaka dan wawancara. Data berupa leksikon tumbuhan obat tradisional. Datadianalisis dengan tahapan: identifikasi data, klasifikasi, dan interpretasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkanterdapat leksikon tumbuhan obat tradisional dalam bahasa Nias yaitu langu wato , giti-iti, sofö-söfö, manaze, mali-mali, mboli, nduru-nduru, go’o, manawa danö, mbala. Sepuluh leksikontersebut ditemukan dalam tuturan masyarakat Nias dan mengandung makna teguran atau nasihat,sindiran, ajaran hidup, dan amarah atau kekesalan.Kata-kata kunci: ekolinguistik, leksikon, tumbuhan obat tradisional   Abstract The ancestral experience of Nias community on nature has created a variety of lexicons oftraditional herbal medicine in li niha (Nias regional language). Wisdom of ancestral in the useof nature should have been passed on by succeeding generations to remain a wealth andcharacteristic inherent to Nias community. The purpose of the study is to know about lexiconsof traditional herbal medicine and to describe the meaning of the lexicons of traditional ofherbal used in utterance of Nias community. The research using a qualitative approach withdata collection techniques of library studies and interviews. The research data is lexicons oftraditional herbal medicine. Data analyzed with steps: data identification, classification, andinterpretation. The research results show the lexicons of traditional herbal medicine in niasare langu wato, giti-iti, sofö-söfö, manaze, mali-mali, mboli, nduru-nduru, go’o, manawadanö, mbala. Ten lexicon is found in utterance of Nias community and contains the sense ofreproof or advice, insinuation, life lesson, and anger or resentment.Keywords: ecolinguistic, lexicon, traditional herbal medicine

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memerikan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal dalam tradisi lisan Takanab berdasarkan perspektif ekolinguistik. Perspektif ekolinguistik didukung dengan studi etnografi komunikasi. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan menggunakan metode simak, teknik catat (linguistik). Metode dan teknik itu dipadukan dengan metode percakapan etnografis, teknik rekam (etnografi). Dalam analisis data digunakan metode padan ekstralingual, teknik analisis kontekstual. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh hasil bahwa kearifan lokal dalam tradisi lisan Takanab termanifestasi melalui kearifan local berwujud nyata (tangible) berupa batu dan air, kain tenun motif, dan rumah adat; juga melalui kearifan lokal tidak berwujud nyata (intangible) berupa bidal, perumpamaan, petuah, dan syair. Setiap wujud kearifan lokal itu memanifestasikan nilai-nilai luhur yang mencerminkan penghayatan budaya kolektif masyarakat Dawan.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to describe the types of triadicities of pragmatic contexts on impolite utterances in the Indonesian language in culture-specific perspective. The research data were the natural utterances in a culture-specific domain intrinsically containing triadicity of pragmatic contexts. The data were collected and presented through the observation methods, both through the engaged conversation technique and uninvolved conversation technique. The data gathering techniques being applied in the observation method were the recording and note-taking techniques. In addition to the conversation technique, an interview technique was applied both the face-to-face and indirect conversations. The data gathering stage was completed when the data was ready to be analyzed. Data analysis was carried out using the identity method, especially the extralingual identity method. This aligned with the contextual analysis in pragmatics in which contextual aspects must be identified. The results of the study showedthat there were 10 types of triadicities of pragmatic contexts on impolite utterances in the Indonesian language in culture-specific perspective. They were triadicities of pragmatic contexts in: (1) pretense, (2) association, (3) taboos, (4) taunting, (5) arrogance, (6) pleonasm, (7) puns, (8) insults, (9) teasing, (10) interjection. The findings of research bring the significant contribution to the development of pragmatics, particularly the culture-specific pragmatics AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan tipe-tipe ketriaditisan konteks pragmatik dalam bahasa Indonesia dengan perspektif kultur spesifik. Data penelitian berupa tuturan-tuturan natural manusia dalam domain kultur spesifik yang secara implisit mengandung triadisitas konteks pragmatik tersebut. Data dikumpulkan dengan menerapkan metode simak, baik simak libat cakap maupun simak bebas libat cakap. Teknik pengumpulan data yang diterapkan adalah teknik catat dan teknik rekam. Selain teknik-teknik tersebut, diterapkan pula teknik wawancara, baik yang sifatnya semuka maupun tidak semuka. Tahap pengumpulan data dipandang selesai ketika data benar-benar telah siap untuk dianalisis. Selanjutnya, analisis data dilakukan dengan menerapkan metode padan, khususnya padan yang bersifat ekstralingual. Metode tersebut selaras dengan metode analisis kontekstual dalam pragmatik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 10 jenis ketriaditisan konteks pragmatik dalam bahasa Indonesia dalam perspektif kultur spesifik. Kesepuluh jenis tersebut adalah ketriaditisan konteks pragmatik dalam tuturan yang mengandung makna: (1) kepura-puraan, (2) asosiasi, (3) tabu, (4) ejekan, (5) kesombongan, (6) pleonasme, (7) lelucon, (8) hinaan, (9) godaan, (10) interjeksi. Temuan penelitian ini diyakini dapat memberikan kontribusi signifikan bagi pengembangan ilmu pragmatik, khususnya pragmatik dalam perspektif kultur spesifik.
