Abstract

Tourism development in Sanur has reshaped the economic and social dynamics of coastal fishing communities. This study analyzes how tourism influences gender role transformation and the welfare of fisher households using a quantitative design with survey data from 120 respondents. Multiple regression results show that tourism significantly contributes to livelihood diversification and increases women’s participation in income-generating activities such as small trading, culinary services, and tourism support services. These changes positively affect household welfare, with livelihood diversification acting as a key mediating factor. However, the shift in gender roles remains limited, as cultural norms continue to restrict women’s involvement in major household decisions. The findings highlight that while tourism enhances economic resilience, it does not automatically create gender equality. Therefore, gender-inclusive policies, training access, and support for women’s entrepreneurial activities are essential to ensure that tourism growth leads to more equitable and sustainable welfare outcomes in coastal communitie.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to make a list of rules governing the existence and use of watersheds (DAS) in Ubud, try to internalize externalities of watershed utilization, and examine the role of stakeholders in managing watershed utilization in the tourism sector. The sample was selected through ABGC snowball sampling (Academic, Business, Government, and Community). Two types of data are used. Direct observation and in-depth interviews were used to collect primary data. Secondary data is taken from satellite imagery and MAPID.id. The analytical techniques used in this research include stakeholder analysis, descriptive analysis, and literature review. As a consequence of this study, the Tri Hita Karana idea, which was later ratified in a local regulation, was taken into consideration by the management of the Ayung Watershed in the tourism business. Rafting excursions are the only direct use of the Ayung watershed. In addition, the agropolitan and agro-tourism zones of Payangan Regency use water from the Ayung River. To combat the negative externalities associated with the use of the Ayung watershed for tourism, Tri Hita Karana is used. Stakeholders who have great influence and interest in protecting the Ayung Watershed include agriculture, LMDH Pesanggem, and Perhutani.

Abstract

As a provincial capital that depends on tourism, the development of Denpasar City’s SMEs, especially in the tourism support sector, is growing rapidly. Coupled with technological advances, the development of SMEs must be able to adapt, one of which is by implementing e-commerce. This research aims to 1) explore the e-commerce needs of SMEs in Denpasar City and 2) analyze the factors that influence the use of e-commerce among SMEs in Denpasar City. The research was conducted on SMEs in Denpasar City with 140 respondents. A mixed-method approach was used to answer the research objectives. The research results show that e-commerce is a marketing medium for Denpasar City SMEs, primarily through Shopee and TikTok. Analysis using Atlas.ti indicates that human resources are still the main obstacle to implementing e-commerce in Denpasar City. Related to the factors that influence the decision to implement e-commerce, business duration, income, knowledge, technology, and product type are variables that significantly influence the implementation of e-commerce in Denpasar City. These results can be a reference regarding increasing SMEs’ capacity, especially regarding human resources and capital. Training, mentoring, and access to capital can raise SMEs’ awareness of the importance of technology in promoting and selling goods and services to increase income, which will lead to empowerment and prosperity.

Abstract

Farmers’ welfare remains a central issue in Indonesia’s rural economic development, particularly during periods of global economic volatility and increasing climate-related production risks. This study analyzes the determinants of farmers’ welfare in Indonesia from 2020 to 2024 using the Farmers’ Terms of Trade (NTP) as the welfare indicator. Monthly macroeconomic agricultural data were examined through multiple linear regression to evaluate the effects of the Farmers’ Received Price Index (IDTP), Farmers’ Paid Price Index (IDBP), Household Consumption Expenditure (KRT), and Production and Capital Input Costs (BPRB). The results indicate that IDTP has a significant positive effect on farmers’ welfare, demonstrating that higher commodity selling prices enhance purchasing power and income stability. Conversely, IDBP, KRT, and BPRB show significant negative impacts, indicating that rising input prices, increasing living costs, and higher production capital burdens reduce farmers’ net income and welfare. These findings are reinforced by recent empirical evidence that climate vulnerability and agricultural extension performance mediate the effectiveness of price incentives and cost management strategies. Policy implications highlight the urgency of stabilizing output market prices, improving access to cost-efficient inputs, strengthening adaptive capacity to climate impacts, and enhancing the institutional performance of agricultural extension systems. Strengthening these support mechanisms is essential to advancing inclusive and sustainable farmer welfare in Indonesia.

Abstract

The development of information technology forces all sectors to develop and adapt. It is the same with the tourism sector in Bali which is starting to experience a fairly rapid development of technology adoption. This research aims to (1) explore the role of social media and online travel applications in current Bali tourism and (2) predict the number of foreign tourist visits to Bali Province. This study uses a quantitative approach using the province of Bali as the research location, considering that Bali is one of the leading tourism destinations in Indonesia. The results of the analysis show that the use of information technology, especially social media, makes it easier for tourists to access information related to tourist destinations. with existing developments, it is predicted that there will continue to be an increase in the number of tourist visits every year. This must be followed by the development of the tourism supporting sector and the improvement of all related facilities. In addition, health and safety issues must be a top priority.
