The learning process in the Society 5.0 era requires students to develop critical thinking skills. Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) play a crucial role in shaping students into creative, analytical, and independent learners. These skills involve the ability to analyze, evaluate, and generate new ideas. However, many students struggle with HOTS-based learning patterns because they are accustomed to conventional teaching methods. Students who are unprepared for HOTS-based learning find it difficult to adapt to the demands of critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. This descriptive comparative study aims to evaluate students' learning skills based on HOTS and examine gender-based differences in these skills. The population of this study consists of 879 students from Junior High School Number 30 Padang, with a sample of 265 students selected using stratified random sampling. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire measuring students' abilities in three sub-variables: completing assignments, answering exams, and participating in learning activities. Descriptive statistical analysis shows that students' mastery of HOTS-based learning skills is 77% in completing assignments, 77% in answering exams, and 76% in participating in learning activities. The results of an independent t-test indicate that female students demonstrate better mastery of HOTS-based learning skills than male students. These findings highlight the importance of schools enhancing students' HOTS-based learning skills to improve academic outcomes and better prepare them for future challenges.

Abstract Job satisfaction is an important thing to be achieved by people who are in the work phase. This is because job satisfaction will lead to the achievement of comfort in work and will also have an effect on the good results of the work. One profession that requires job satisfaction is TPQ teachers. TPQ teachers are educators who deliver their students to skills in religion and society. Therefore, he must have job satisfaction to deliver students to these skills. However, what happened in the field was that not many religious scholars were interested in becoming TPQ teachers. And there is an assumption that TPQ teachers in some areas are not so prosperous. And how job satisfaction TPQ teachers have had so far.  This research is classified as a type of descriptive research. Researchers distributed the instrument in the form of a google form to several TPQ teachers in the city of Bukittingi and found a research sample of 100 TPQ teachers selected with total sampling techniques. The data was processed using descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The results showed that the job satisfaction of TPQ teachers was generally in the satisfactory category. Based on the results of this study, services can be provided to improve job statisfaction. With individual counseling services, it is hoped that TPQ teachers' job satisfaction can be further increased. In the implementation of individual counseling, several professional techniques will be applied. AbstrakKepuasan kerja adalah hal yang penting untuk dicapai oleh orang yang berada di fase bekerja. Hal ini disebabkan karena kepuasan kerja akan mengantarkan pada tercapainya kenyamanan dalam bekerja dan juga akan berefek pada bagusnya hasil pekerjaan tersebut. Salah satu profesi yang memerlukan kepuasan kerja adalah guru TPQ. Guru TPQ adalah pendidik yang mengantarkan siswanya kepada keterampilan dalam beragama dan bermasyarakat. Maka dari itu ia harus memiliki kepuasan kerja untuk menghantarkan siswa pada keterampilan tersebut. Namun yang terjadi di lapangan tidak banyak sarjana agama yang tertarik untuk menjadi guru TPQ. Dan adanya anggapan bahwa guru TPQ di beberapa daerah tidak begitu sejahtera. Dan bagaimana kepuasan kerja yang dimiliki oleh guru TPQ selama ini. Penelitian ini tergolong pada jenis penelitian deskriptif. Peneliti menyebarkan instrument dalam bentuk google form kepada beberapa guru TPQ di kota Bukittingi dan didapati sampel penelitian sebanyak 100 guru TPQ yang dipilih dengan teknik total sampling. Data diolah menggunakan teknik analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepuasan kerja guru TPQ pada umumnya berada pada kategori memuaskan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini layanan yang dapat diberikan untuk meningkatkan kepuasan kerja guru TPQ adalah pemberian layanan bimbingan konseling. Layanan yang dapat diberikan untuk meningkatkan kepuasan kerja guru TPQ adalah layanan konseling perorangan. Dengan layanan konseling perorangan diharapkan kepuasan kerja guru TPQ dapat lebih meningkat. Dalam pelaksanaan konseling perorangan pun akan diterapkan beberapa teknik professional.  Â

The underlying issue of this study is the increasing prevalence of bullying as a concerning social problem in education, which negatively impacts victims, including a tendency toward self-harm behavior as a maladaptive coping mechanism. This research aims to analyze self-harm behaviors among university students who are victims of bullying and to examine gender differences in these behaviors. The study employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The sample comprises 261 university students who experienced bullying, selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected using the Self-Harm Inventory (SHI) and analyzed descriptively and comparatively. The findings reveal that 70.93% of students exhibit low levels of self-harm behavior. However, significant gender differences were observed, with female students showing higher levels of self-harm compared to male students. This study concludes that although the majority of students fall into the low self-harm category, the moderate category requires special attention, particularly among female students. Based on these findings, it is recommended that universities adopt strategic measures to prevent bullying through both preventive and curative approaches. Recent information in this study reveals that, the implementation of effective counseling services and program interventions can be a significant effort to reduce the impact of bullying and self-harm behavior among students.

This study aims to describe and examine the relationship between father involvement and student self-control, based on the persistent issues of truancy and low self-regulation among students. The research employed a quantitative method with a descriptive correlational approach. The study population consisted of students from MTsN 6 Padang City during the 2024/2025 academic year, with a sample of 266 students selected through stratified random sampling. The research instruments used were the father involvement scale and the self-control scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment correlation. The results revealed that: (1) 34.96% of students exhibited a moderate level of self-control; (2) father involvement was also at a moderate level, with 33.08%; (3) there was a significant positive correlation between father involvement and students' self-control, with a correlation coefficient of 0.398. These findings affirm that father involvement makes a meaningful contribution to strengthening student self-control. This study has implications for family counseling services aimed at improving self-control among students with low levels of father involvement.

Penelitian ini bertujuan menggambarkan perilaku konsumtif siswa SLTA pengguna TikTok. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif, penelitian melibatkan 282 siswa yang dipilih dengan purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan skala perilaku konsumtif berbasis teori Lina & Rosyid (1997) yang meliputi pembelian impulsif, pembelian berlebihan, dan pembelian tidak rasional, dengan reliabilitas Cronbach’s Alpha = 0,951. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa perilaku konsumtif secara keseluruhan berada pada kategori sedang (51,77%), dengan 28,36% siswa memiliki tingkat pembelian impulsif tinggi–sangat tinggi dan 29,41% menunjukkan pembelian tidak rasional tinggi–sangat tinggi. Temuan ini mengindikasikan perlunya intervensi edukatif dari guru bimbingan dan konseling untuk mendorong kebiasaan konsumsi yang lebih bijak di kalangan siswa.

This study aims to examine gender differences in assertive behavior among firstborn students and to analyze the implications for school guidance and counseling services. The research employs a quantitative descriptive comparative approach with 60 respondents (30 male and 30 female firstborn students) selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using a validated assertiveness scale covering seven aspects: expressing feelings, rejecting requests, initiating interactions, expressing personal opinions, defending personal rights, requesting changes in others, and facing criticism. Statistical analysis revealed that male firstborn students demonstrate higher levels of assertiveness than their female counterparts across most indicators. These findings suggest that gender plays a significant role in shaping assertive behavior among firstborns, likely influenced by sociocultural expectations and familial roles. The results underscore the importance of implementing gender-responsive guidance and counseling strategies in schools to foster healthy communication, self-confidence, and emotional resilience among students, particularly those experiencing role pressure as firstborns.

This study aims to see how group guidance with a client-centred therapy approach in early childhood improves prosocial behaviour. This study uses library research method. Data analysis in this study used a narrative synthesis analysis. The results of this study indicate that prosocial behaviour is behaviour that is displayed when interacting with other people where children spontaneously help others. Prosocial behaviour is displayed by early childhood to the friends, parents, teachers and the surrounding community. Group guidance with a client-centred therapy approach provides counselling techniques to make early childhood become individuals who can understand their potential and actualize their social relationships. In the implementation of group guidance, early childhood will interact and communicate with each other; the counsellor can ask them to practice these prosocial behaviours. Either by answering questions if (...) then (...) or by telling how he should act when faced with a situation that requires displaying this prosocial behaviour.

Rapid advances in information and communication technology not only offers unprecedented access to information but also presents significant challenges, especially misleading content in social media. This condition requires students as social media users to develop good information literacy skills. The purpose of the study is to assess the level of information literacy of students to face and fight misleading content in social media. The researchers used a mixed research method, using a validated questionnaire based on Eshet's (2004) digital literacy framework and interviews as research instruments. 35 students were selected through a saturated sampling method. This study assesses 3 main indicators, namely: the ability to access and understand digital information, critical evaluation and analysis of digital information, and responsible digital participation and communication. The research findings revealed that English Language Education students at IAIN Takengon show relatively low ability to deal with misleading content in social media. This study provides implications that there needs to be an integration of the curriculum with various skills (critical thinking, lateral reading and others); educational institutions, especially universities, pay attention to information literacy by providing training to lecturers, providing facilities and supporting tools; and for social media users, especially students, to be more active in dealing with misleading content

Kekerasan dalam Rumah Tangga (KDRT) merupakan salah satu masalah sosial yang meresahkan di seluruh dunia. Dampak yang dirasakan oleh korban tidak hanya penderitaan fisik dan seksual namun juga penurunan kapasitas mereka untuk bekerja, mengurus keluarga, memberikan kontribusi kepada masyarakat, dan bahkan meninggal dunia. KDRT merupakan masalah serius yang dapat berdampak signifikan pada kesejahteraan psikologis anak-anak yang menjadi korban. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan secara faktual kondisi psikologis anak korban KDRT. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif menggunakan intrumen berupa instrumen untuk mengidentifikasi korban KDRT yang dilaksanakan terhadap anak korban KDRT di Sumatera Barat. Pengumpulan data dari seluruh anak korban KDRT di Sumatera Barat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian jika dilihat dari bahwa sebagian besar skor jawaban responden berada pada kategori sedang (61,83%). Namun demikian, skor jawaban responden yang berada pada kategori tinggi (23,42%). Sementara itu, terdapat skor jawaban responden yang berada pada kategori rendah (14,74%). Berdasarkan paparan data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebaran data kondisi psikologis anak korban KDRT di Sumatera barat dominan berada pada kategori sedang. Dengan demikian, diperlukan langkah-langkah yang lebih efektif dalam melindungi anak-anak ini serta memberikan dukungan psikologis yang tepat guna untuk membantu mereka pulih dari dampak psikologis yang mereka alami akibat kekerasan dalam rumah tangga.
