Abstract

Abstract “Kerupuk Puli” or commonly referred to as “LEMPENG” are one type of cracker originating from the residency of Madiun. These crackers come from rice and use garlic as a flavoring. The savory taste and crunchy texture make the number of people who consume these crackers increase. In bu Iis’ business, the most conspicuous problem is in the cutting process. Cutting this dough is a production stage that requires precision, accuracy, and hygiene. Bu Iis' business still uses manual or human hands and a knife to cut so that the speed and accuracy of the size and cleanliness when cutting the cracker dough is not guaranteed. To overcome this problem, Bu Iis' business must get a touch of appropriate technology in the form of a cracker dough cutting machine. The cracker cutter is done manually, in 1 minute only about 10 slices of crackers are produced. But when done using a cracker cutting machine, it can produce 30 pieces of crackers per minute. With the help of this tool, the production process for cutting cracker dough can be done faster, so as to increase the production capacity of crackers.

Abstract

Abstrak Beberapa pondok pesantren di Indonesia mewajibkan santrinya menguasai bahasa asing selain Bahasa Arab. Salah satu pondok pesantren yang mendorong dan mendukung santrinya untuk menguasai bahasa asing adalah Pondok Pesantren Bumi Sholawat (PPBS) Sidoarjo. Melalui penguasaan Bahasa Inggris santri di PPBS diharapkan memiliki wawasan internasional dan bekal untuk menghadapi tantangan masa depan. Kegiatan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dilaksanakan secara baik di PPBS. Meskipun demikian, santri PPBS harus tetap meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa Inggrisnya. Salah satu cara untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan berbahasa adalah melalui pembelajaran, pelatihan, pendampingan, dan tes. Tes yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah tes yang mirip dengan tes kemahiran Bahasa Inggris internasional yang akan diikuti oleh santri ketika mereka sudah berada di kelas XII SMA. Hasil tes menunjukkan bahwa 40% santri atau 16 santri mencapai tingkat advance atau mahir yang merupakan tingkatan tertinggi dalam tes ini. Selanjutnya 43% santri atau 17 santri berada pada tingkatan high intermediate. Lalu, sekitar 17% santri masih belum memenuhi standar minimal skor yang harus dicapai. Dengan demikian 83% atau 33 santri dari 40 santri yang mengikuti kegiatan ini telah memenuhi standar minimal skor yang ditetapkan. Bahkan ada santri yang bisa mencapai tingkat mahir atau advance.

Abstract

Pondok pesantren memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk karakter dan kompetensi generasi muda melalui sistem pendidikan berbasis boarding school yang mengintegrasikan kurikulum formal dan kepesantrenan. Dinamika kehidupan di pesantren yang menuntut kedisiplinan dan keseimbangan antara akademik dan kegiatan kepesantrenan dapat menjadi tantangan bagi sebagian santri, yang berpotensi memunculkan gejala academic burnout. Kondisi ini ditandai dengan rasa lelah secara emosional, menurunnya semangat belajar, serta berkurangnya kepercayaan diri dalam menghadapi tantangan akademik. Jika tidak dikelola dengan baik, hal ini dapat memengaruhi kesejahteraan akademik dan psikologis santri. Untuk mencegah hal tersebut terjadi di Pondok Pesantren Al-Amin, program pengabdian kepada masyarakat mengusulkan intervensi berbasis bimbingan klasikal dengan metode Scavenger Hunt. Bimbingan klasikal bertujuan memberikan pemahaman mengenai academic burnout, sementara Scavenger Hunt dirancang untuk menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang lebih interaktif dan menyenangkan. Program ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran santri terhadap academic burnout serta membekali mereka dengan strategi yang dapat diterapkan untuk menjaga keseimbangan akademik dan kesejahteraan psikologis.

Abstract

Pelatihan pemahaman lintas budaya menjadi langkah strategis dalam meningkatkan kualitas layanan pariwisata yang inklusif dan ramah budaya. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman anggota Pokdarwis di Kota Mataram mengenai budaya Jerman, guna menghadapi tantangan interaksi antarbudaya dalam konteks pariwisata internasional. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan partisipatif selama dua hari yang mencakup sesi pengenalan budaya, simulasi layanan wisata, dan diskusi reflektif. Kegiatan ini melibatkan lima Pokdarwis dengan total sepuluh peserta. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta terhadap nilai-nilai budaya, etiket wisata, dan strategi komunikasi lintas budaya. Pelatihan juga memunculkan inisiatif peserta dalam mengembangkan narasi wisata berbasis potensi lokal yang sesuai dengan karakteristik wisatawan Jerman. Program ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap kesiapan Pokdarwis dalam menyambut wisatawan mancanegara dan memperkuat citra pariwisata Kota Mataram sebagai destinasi berkelas internasional.

Abstract

The rise of bullying and violence in Islamic boarding schools, especially in the Mojokerto area, shows the need for more effective prevention efforts. Although some Islamic boarding schools have implemented character learning and internal policies, specific steps to protect students are still limited. This problem is the background for the emergence of a student-friendly Islamic boarding school mentoring program at the Al-Amin Islamic Boarding School in Mojokerto. The implementation of the service program at the Al-Amin Islamic Boarding School in Mojokerto is carried out through three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The data collection method was carried out by a mixed method which included participatory observation, structured interviews, documentation, and questionnaires, with the main focus on preventing bullying and sexual violence, establishing student-friendly Islamic boarding school and increasing the capacity of administrators, caregivers, and ustaz/ustazah. The "Student-Friendly Islamic Boarding School Assistance" activity has succeeded in building a socio-cultural model that focuses on creating a boarding school environment free of bullying and sexual violence through education, peer support, workshops, and the Islamic boarding school's internal system. The results of the evaluation showed an improvement in all aspects of knowledge, from the category of sufficient in the pre-test to very good in the post-test, with an average score of 4.4–4.5. This program is effective in increasing participants' understanding and awareness related to sexual violence, bullying, and the concept of student-friendly Islamic boarding school The implementation of the program faces several challenges. However, the enthusiastic response of participants and the support of caregivers opened up opportunities for program development, so that other Islamic boarding school could be replicated as needed.

Abstract

Teacher well-being is a crucial determinant of educational quality, yet many educators particularly those working abroad. They face challenges that compromise their physical and psychological health. This community engagement program (PKM) conducted by Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa) at Sekolah Indonesia Makkah (SIM), Saudi Arabia, aimed to enhance teacher wellness through integrated fitness and counselling training. Using a hybrid model that combined online lectures and offline practice, 23 teachers participated in structured physical exercise sessions, health education, and guidance and counselling workshops. Baseline assessments indicated that 78% of participants rarely engaged in exercise and 65% were dissatisfied with their physical condition. Post-intervention data revealed substantial improvements: 87% of teachers began exercising weekly, reported higher energy and motivation levels, and demonstrated greater awareness of wellness in teaching. Counselling competence also improved markedly, with 90% of participants able to apply preventive and developmental guidance strategies in classrooms. Qualitative feedback emphasized increased collegiality, emotional resilience, and a stronger sense of community, culminating in the establishment of a Teacher Fitness Club as a sustainable outcome. The study concludes that integrating physical and psychological well-being training strengthens teachers’ professional capacity, fosters holistic education, and exemplifies the transformative role of universities in global community partnership.
