Abstract

Its natural, cool, and green environment, Batu Kuda Manglayang also attracts tourists with its long-standing legend. A tourist attraction is an attraction that has its own value so that it attracts tourists to come to a location. One of the main factors in tourism growth is the provision of tourist facilities. However, Batu Kuda Manglayang still faces a number of common problems related to facilities and infrastructure. Improving the quality of damaged or under-functioning facilities is one way to make visitors happy with the tourist attractions and services of Batu Kuda Manglayang. This study uses a quantitative methodology combined with a descriptive strategy. This study focuses on the quality of tourism (X) which is an independent variable consisting of two dimensions, namely facilities (X2) and attractions (X1). The variable of tourist satisfaction (Y) is the dependent variable. The indicators used to measure tourist satisfaction are the adequacy of expectations, interest in returning to visit, and the desire to recommend. Based on the results of the research that has been conducted, namely: Batu Kuda Manglayang provides camping, picnic, trekking, and cultural sites and other tourist attractions. Tourists can get satisfaction from the various attractions available. Thus, there is a fairly close relationship between the attraction variable and the tourist pleasure variable. 2) The variable of tourist amenities has a significant influence on tourist satisfaction, at least in part. This can increase tourist satisfaction if the facilities are sufficient and clean. 3) In Batu Kuda Manglayang, both attractions and tourist facilities have a significant influence on visitor satisfaction.

Abstract

The implementation of collaborative governance in managing the creative economy sector has become increasingly essential, particularly at the local level where multiple stakeholders interact. This study explores the role of collaborative government in the activation process of the Creative Center Purwakarta (CCP), a collaborative space established to support creative community activities in Purwakarta, West Java. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, the research involved ten key informants, including government officials, CCP managers, members of creative communities, and residents directly engaged in the use of CCP. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews and document analysis. The findings reveal that although the government has provided facilities and regulatory support, collaboration remains limited to administrative coordination and has yet to fully foster participatory and innovative synergy. Personal engagement strategies, the government's facilitative role, and the ability to adapt to policy changes emerged as key factors driving effective collaboration. The study concludes that the successful activation of CCP requires a dialogic collaborative structure, facilitative leadership, and governance that is responsive to local policy dynamics. These findings offer practical implications for local governments in strengthening creative ecosystems and contribute to the theoretical development of collaborative governance in the creative economy sector.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the behavior of fear of missing out in culinary tourism, related to anxiety or fear of missing out on something that is popular. As a result, Tourism Industry Study Program students tend to follow trends, buy goods that are not really needed, or do activities that are actually undesirable, so as not to feel left behind. The qualitative method with a phenomenological approach is used to focus on a deep understanding of the individual's subjective experience of a phenomenon. The data analysis technique used is Interpretative phenomenological analysis, which is a method that focuses on an in-depth exploration of how participants understand their personal experiences. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with informants. Data collected from key informants is more accurate and valid because it is in accordance with the phenomenon experienced directly. The results of the study show a change in fear of missing out behavior towards consumptive behavior, shown by the existence of social media promotions and consumption trends that encourage impulsive behavior and social anxiety. Thus, it is hoped that Tourism Industry Study Program students can face challenges in balancing modern social pressure and social media with values to prioritize life balance and build healthy relationships without relying on social media.

Abstract

Margawindu Village in Sumedang Regency possesses considerable geotourism potential along with a locally cultivated honeybee product known as Teuweul honey. However, this potential has not yet been optimally integrated into the development of sustainable educational tourism. This community service program aims to implement sustainable geotourism by empowering local MSMEs engaged in Teuweul honey beekeeping through a participatory and community-based tourism approach. The method involved field observations, focus group discussions, thematic training, mentoring, and participatory evaluation followed by strategic recommendations. The results indicated a significant increase in community capacity in terms of environmental conservation and tourism interpretation, the rebranding of Teuweul honey with strong local identity, and the development of an educational tour package titled “From Hive to Nature” that combines ecological, economic, and educational values. Despite existing challenges such as infrastructure limitations and the need for digital marketing skills, the program successfully laid the foundation for an inclusive and locally driven sustainable geotourism model. Continued cross-sector collaboration and stakeholder engagement are essential to ensure the program’s long-term sustainability.

Abstract

Sumedang Regency, rich in geological and cultural heritage, holds significant potential for geotourism development, yet faces challenges in delivering meaningful visitor experiences. This study aims to explore tourists’ perceptions of geotourism development in Sumedang from a social tourism perspective, focusing on their emotional, cognitive, and cultural interactions with key sites. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with eighteen tourists, participatory observations, and visual documentation, including photographs and visual interpretations. Analysis revealed three main themes: the natural beauty of sites like Mount Tampomas and Jatigede Reservoir lacks educational narratives, limited infrastructure hinders access and diminishes satisfaction, and tourists desire greater involvement with local culture and narratives. These findings highlight the need for enhanced interpretive media and community engagement to transform superficial experiences into meaningful ones. The study, limited to domestic tourists and a short observation period, concludes that Sumedang’s geotourism can thrive by integrating geological education, improving infrastructure, and empowering local communities as storytellers. These insights contribute to understanding geotourism as a socially constructed process and offer practical strategies for sustainable destination development in Sumedang.
