Abstract

Penelitian keragaman zooplankton di Sungai Pepe telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari-Februari 2016. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji jenis dan keanekaragaman komunitas zooplankton di perairan Sungai Pepe. Penelitian ini bersifat explorative. Teknik yang digunakan untuk pengambilan sampel adalah metode sampling dengan menetapkan dua stasiun penelitian. Stasiun A sebagai bagian hilir Sungai Pepe yang berlokasi di daerah Sangkrah dan stasiun B sebagai bagian hulu Sungai Pepe yang berlokasi di daerah Banjarsari. Hasil identifikasi zooplankton ditemukan sebanyak 12 genus dari 5 divisi utama yakni Ciliophora (2 genus), Rotifera (5 genus), Arthropoda (1 genus), Protozoa (3 genus) dan Platyhelminthes (1 genus). Kelimpahan zooplankton (N) berkisar antara 32sel/liter sampai 40 sel/liter. Indeks keanekaragaman (H’) berkisar antara -1,21 sampai – 1,69 yang mengartikan komunitas biota tidak stabil. Indeks kemerataan (E) berkisar antara -0,52 sampai – 0.70 yang mengartikan kemerataan spesies rendah. Indeks dominansi berkisar antara 0,47 sampai 0,27 yang berarti tidak ada spesies yang mendominasi dalam perairan tersebut. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa dibutuhkan perhatian khusus agar komunitas zooplankton di Perairan Sungai Pepe dapat distabilkan dengan mengurangi pencemaran lingkungan.

Abstract

Lichen is an association of fungi and algae, morphologically and physiologically unified as a single entity. Lichen is categorized as plants characterized by a thallus-like form. The aim of this research was to investigate the thallus morphology of lichens along the hiking trails of Bukit Mongkrang, Tawangmangu District, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java Province. The research utilized an exploratory method involving exploration of locations to obtain necessary samples. Purposive sampling was employed to select research locations comprising three stations at varying altitudes. Subsequently, lichen morphology samples were identified. The results revealed three types of thalli: Crustose, Foliose, and Fruticose, with Foliose being the most dominant type at 335 individuals, and Crustose the least at 132 individuals. The most dominant surface morphology of lichen thalli was Maculae details in the species Polyblastidium albicans (Pers.) S.Y. Kondr, Lokos & Hur, while the least common surface detail was Cephalodia in the species Lepraria casiella R.C. Harris. Lichen reproductive structures identified included two types: sexual and asexual. Sexual reproductive structures consisted of Apothecia, Perithecia, and Pycnidia, while asexual reproductive structures included Isidia and Soredia. The most dominant sexual reproductive structure found was Apothecia in the species Lecanora glabrata (Ach.) Malme, and the least common was Pycnidia in the species Anaptychia palmulata (Michaux) Vain. Morphological differences among lichen types were influenced by variations in altitude, air temperature, humidity, and light intensity. Lichen was most abundant at elevations ranging from 1,712 to 1,844 meters above sea level.

Abstract

Indonesia is experiencing a rise in natural disasters due to its geographical position within a tropical region, with the Upper Solo River watershed exhibiting a heightened risk of flooding. This region has already suffered numerous floods due to excessive precipitation and insufficient drainage. Susceptibility, hazard, and risk studies have been conducted to investigate this phenomenon but have been limited to specific regions within the catchment area. This study aims to construct a GIS-based flood risk model using Open-Access Spatial Data (OASD) based on diverse physical characteristics, urbanization levels, and population. We used several OASD, including SRTM, Sentinel 2 MSI, GPM v6, NASA-USDA Enhanced SMAP Global Soil Moisture Data, GHS-SMOD R2023A - Global Human Settlement Layers, and GHSL: Global Population Surfaces 1975-2030 (P2023A). The model integrates the risk parameters to identify flood risk using a weighted overlay in ArcGIS. The results demonstrate spatial heterogeneity in flood risk throughout the watershed. The result also reveals that Surakarta City, with a high proportion of its area in the 'High' (57.3%) and 'Very High' (29.54%) risk categories, is at the highest risk of flooding within the watershed. The study enhances understanding of this topic by comprehensively evaluating flood hazards, vulnerabilities, and risks. It highlights the significance of utilizing low-cost OASD to improve flood preparedness and response strategies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan materi pembelajaran IPA tentang mengenal permukaan bumi berbasis aplikasi Wordwall untuk siswa sekolah dasar. Materi ini dikembangkan dengan memanfaatkan fitur-fitur interaktif dalam aplikasi Wordwall, seperti permainan teka-teki, kuis, dan latihan soal. Pengembangan materi ini didasarkan pada analisis kebutuhan dan kurikulum IPA yang berlaku, serta disesuaikan dengan karakteristik siswa sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Tahapan penelitian meliputi analisis kebutuhan, perancangan materi, pengembangan materi menggunakan aplikasi Wordwall, implementasi materi dalam pembelajaran, dan evaluasi untuk perbaikan materi. Materi pembelajaran yang dikembangkan meliputi pengenalan bentuk permukaan bumi, jenis-jenis bentuk permukaan bumi, serta proses-proses yang terjadi di permukaan bumi. Materi disajikan dalam bentuk permainan, kuis, dan latihan soal interaktif yang menarik dan sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa sekolah dasar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa materi pembelajaran IPA tentang mengenal permukaan bumi berbasis aplikasi Wordwall efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan minat belajar siswa. Materi ini juga dinilai praktis dan mudah digunakan oleh guru maupun siswa dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Masalah lingkungan merupakan masalah kritis bersama yang dihadapi dunia saat ini. Melalui pendidikan lingkungan dalam mata pelajaran IPA dan Biologi, siswa diberikan pemahaman terhadap masalah-masalah lingkungan yang merupakan bagian dari proses pembelajaran mereka. Salah satu permasalahan lingkungan yang paling mengancam kelangsungan stabilitas biosfer adalah perubahan iklim. Salah satu bentuk pengamatan langsung di alam untuk mengintegrasikan pengetahuan lingkungan sebagai upaya pelestarian alam adalah pengenalan konsep stok karbon pohon. Salah satu metoda pendugaan stok karbon pohon sederhana yang bisa diaplikasikan pengukurannya di alam oleh siswa adalah metode secara tidak langsung dengan pendekatan ekuasi allometri. Tujuan: Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk mengenalkan konsep stok karbon pohon dengan sasaran guru IPA dan Biologi tingkat SD dan SMP se Jawa Tengah. Metode dan Langkah Kerja: metode pengabdian dilakukan dengan metode daring menggunakan aplikasi zoom untuk kegiatan sinkron dan metode diskusi secara asinkron dengan menggunakan aplikasi schoology. Metode pengumpulan Lembar Kerja Peserta (LKP) juga dilakukan dengan aplikasi schoology. Guru diberikan pengenalan-pengenalan mengenai konsep dasar stok karbon, metode pengukuran diameter pohon setinggi dada (dbh), konsep allometri dan praktek pengukuran dbh pohon langsung di lapangan seperti pekarangan sekolah, pekarangan rumah, kebun dan lahan lainnya yang ditumbuhi pohon. Pengabdian ini dihadiri oleh 47 peserta Hasil: Dari hasil evaluasi tugas LKP, sebanyak  95% guru sudah memahami konsep stok karbon namun baru 77% guru yang menguasai teknis estimasi stok karbon pohon sederhana. Rekomendasi: Diharapkan melalui kegiatan ini, guru dapat mengaplikasikan praktikum estimasi stok karbon pohon di sekolah sebagai bentuk kegiatan pengayaan yang bersifat kontekstual. Introducing the Concept of Tree Carbon Stock as a Climate Change Mitigation Effort to Science and Biology Teachers in Central Java  Environmental problems are a common critical problem facing the world today. Through environmental education in science and biology subjects, students are given an understanding of environmental issues that are part of their learning process. One of the environmental problems that most threaten the stability of the biosphere is climate change. One form of direct observation in nature to integrate environmental knowledge as an effort to conserve nature is the introduction of the concept of tree carbon stocks. One method of estimating simple tree carbon stocks that can be applied for measurement in nature by students is the indirect method with an allometric equation approach. Objective: The purpose of this service is to introduce the concept of tree carbon stock with the target of science and biology teachers at the elementary and junior high school levels throughout Central Java. Working Methods and Steps: the service method is carried out using an online method using the zoom application for synchronous activities and asynchronous discussion methods using the Schoology application. The method of collecting Participant Worksheets (LKP) is also carried out using the Schoology application. Teachers are given introductions to the basic concepts of carbon stock, methods of measuring tree diameter at chest height (dbh), allometry concepts and the practice of measuring tree dbh directly in the field such as schoolyards, house yards, gardens, and other land overgrown with trees. This service was attended by 47 participants. Results: From the evaluation results of LKP assignments, 95% of teachers have understood the concept of carbon stock, but only 77% of teachers have mastered the technique of simple tree carbon stock estimation. Recommendation: It is hoped that through this activity, teachers can apply the practice of estimating tree carbon stocks in schools as a form of contextual enrichment activities

Abstract

SMP Muhammadiyah 7 (Mutu) Program Unggulan Colomadu, Karanganyar, Jawa Tengah berorientasi pada lingkungan dengan adanya program Jumat Bersih dan partisipasi pada kegiatan Bank Sampah. Walaupun sudah ada program berbasis lingkungan, kesadaran siswa terhadap isu lingkungan belum maksimal. Adanya usaha dari pihak sekolah untuk berpartisipasi dalam program Bank Sampah kelurahan belum memiliki rencana pengelolaan maksimal karena belum adanya usaha untuk memanfaatkan potensi sampah menjadi  barang yang memiliki manfaat lebih. Solusi yang ditawarkan: Dibutuhkan mekanisme pengelolaan sampah berbasis komunitas siswa peduli lingkungan. Pada kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini, program pemulihan sampah difokuskan pada pemanfaatan sampah kering anorganik. Program yang ditawarkan adalah pembuatan dan pemanfaatan bata ramah lingkungan (eco brick). Nilai manfaat: Tambahan wawasan mengenai pengelolaan sampah sederhana bagi guru dan siswa yang menunjang materi kurikulum di sekolah khususnya Kelas VII Kompetensi Dasar 3.7. Interaksi antara Mahluk Hidup dan Lingkungannya. Metode Pelaksanaan dnegan transfer of knowledge and technology dengan tahapan. Pengabdian dilaksanakan sebanyak 13 kali pertemuan, dilaksanakan setiap akhir pekan dengan metode sosialisasi (kegiatan hibrid daring dan luring), pelatihan pembuatan eco brick dan pelatihan pembuatan berbagai produk dari ecobrick. Hasil kegiatan: Siswa menyetorkan sampah plastik ke sekolah. Setelah disetor, setiap hari Sabtu, siswa bersama tim membuat ecobrick dan menimbang untuk kontrol kualitas. Dari 4 minggu penyetoran, didapat total 123 buah ecobrick dengan total berat 28,7 kg. Pada akhir fase kegiatan, siswa membuat 5 buah produk terdiri dari 3 rak buku dan 2 kursi. Kegiatan ini mampu menginisiasi siswa SMP Mutu Colomadu untuk menghasilkan produk dari sampah kering sebagai usaha untuk pilih pilah dan pulih sampah. Student Empowerment of SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Colomadu Karanganyar on Waste Recycling Program  SMP Muhammadiyah 7 (Quality) Colomadu Excellence Program, Karanganyar, Central Java is environmentally oriented with the Clean Friday program and participation in Waste Bank activities. Although there are already environmental-based programs, students' awareness of environmental issues has not been maximized. The existence of an effort from the school to participate in the village Garbage Bank program does not yet have a maximum management plan because there has been no attempt to utilize the potential of waste into goods that have more benefits. The solution offered: It takes a community-based waste management mechanism for students who care about the environment. In this community service activity, the waste recovery program is focused on the utilization of inorganic dry waste. The program offered is the manufacture and use of environmentally friendly bricks (eco-bricks). Value of benefits: Additional insight on simple waste management for teachers and students who support curriculum materials in schools, especially Class VII Basic Competence 3.7. Interaction between Living Things and Their Environment. Implementation method with the transfer of knowledge and technology with stages. The service was held for 13 meetings, held every weekend with socialization methods (online and offline hybrid activities), training on making eco-bricks, and training on making various products from eco-bricks. Result of activity: Students deposit plastic waste at school. After being deposited, every Saturday, students and their team make eco-bricks and weigh them for quality control. From 4 weeks of deposit, a total of 123 eco-bricks were obtained with a total weight of 28.7 kg. At the end of the activity phase, students make 5 products consisting of 3 bookshelves and 2 chairs. This activity was able to initiate Colomadu Quality Middle School students to produce products from dry waste in an effort to sort and recover waste

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) di Panti Asuhan Putri Aisyiyah Bekonang Sukoharjo, memberikan keterampilan hidup yang bermanfaat bagi anak-anak panti, sekaligus mendukung upaya pelestarian lingkungan. Komunitas sasaran dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah anak-anak Panti Asuhan Putri Aisyiyah Bekonang yang berjumlah 27 orang yang terdiri dari dua latar belakang pendidikan yaitu siswa SMP dan SMA. Metode pengabdian adalah pendekatan edukatif yang dilakukan melalui berbagai aktivitas, seperti sosialisasi mengenai Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA), praktik langsung penanaman TOGA, pembuatan produk berbasis TOGA dan sosialisasi dan praktik pengemasan produk. Indikator keberhasilan diukur dengan pre dan post-test yang mengukur pengetahuan anak panti terkait TOGA, cara penanaman, pengolahan dan pengemasan produk.  Kegiatan   pemberdayaan anak panti melalui TOGA terlaksana dengan baik. Dari kegiatan ini, peserta sudah mampu menciptakan empat produk hasil TOGA yaitu minuman herba (kunyit asem dan wedang jahe), teh kelor, dan rempeyek herbal yang dikemas dalam bentuk kemasan siap jual. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan rata-rata peserta terkait TOGA sebesar 12.47 %. Peningkatan ini berdampak pada minat anak panti untuk melanjutkan kegiatan inovasi TOGA ini sampai pemasaran. Empowerment Innovation at the Aisyiyah Bekonang Orphanage: Fostering Autonomy Through TOGA Cultivation and Processing  This community service aims to develop Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) at the Women Orphanage of Aisyiyah, Bekonang Sukoharjo, providing useful life skills for orphanage children, as well as supporting environmental conservation efforts. The target community in this service activity is the 27 children of the Putri Aisyiyah Bekonang Orphanage, consisting of two educational backgrounds, namely middle school and high school students. The service method is an educational approach carried out through various activities, such as socialization about Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA), direct practice of planting TOGA, making TOGA-based products and socialization and product packaging practices. Success indicators are assessed using pre- and post-tests that evaluate orphanage children's understanding of TOGA, as well as their skills in planting, processing, and packaging products. Empowerment activities for orphanage children through TOGA were carried out well. From this activity, participants were able to create four TOGA products, namely herbal drinks (turmeric tamarind and ginger tea), moringa tea, and herbal peanut brittle packaged in ready-to-sell packaging. The evaluation results showed that there was an increase in the average knowledge of participants related to TOGA of 12.47%. This rise affects the desire of orphaned children in continuing TOGA innovative initiatives through marketing.

Abstract

Lichen is a combined organism between algae and fungi. Lichen has various body shapes, one of which is foliose. Lichen is found living epiphytic on the stems of tea plants. This study aims to determine the types of epiphytic lichen foliose on tea plants in Ngargoyoso, Karanganyar, Central Java. The method used is an exploratory method with purposive sampling techniques. Sampling was carried out at three stations with different altitudes. Station 1 (900 m asl), Station 2 (1.000 m asl), and Station 3 (1.100 m asl). The study results obtained a number 12 species of lichen foliose consisting of Parmotrema tinctorum (Delise ex Nyl.) Hale, P. austrosinense (Zahlbr.) Hale, P. reticulatum (Taylor) M. Choisy, P. hypotropum (Nyl.) Hale, P. perlatum (Huds.) M. Choisy, Flavoparmelia soredians (Nyl.) Hale, F. caperata (L.) Hale, Hypogymnia physodes (L.) Nyl, Physcia stellaris (L.) Nyl, P. aipolia (Ehrh. ex Humb.) Fürnr, Heterodermia japonica (Satō) Swinscow & Krog, and Dirinaria applanata (Fée) D.D. Awasthi. The most dominant species found at all three stations were Parmotrema austrosinense (Zahlbr.) Hale with a total of 104 colonies. The least encountered species was Physcia stellaris (L.) Nyl with a total of 3 colonies.

Abstract

Ethnobotany is the relationship between humans and natural resources to meet needs such as food, medicines, traditional ceremonies, and other community life. Tea plants are plants that have a high selling value and have many health benefits. This study aims to determine the ethnobotanical aspects ethnobotanical of tea plants based on local wisdom in Ngargoyoso District, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java. This type of research is qualitative using data collection methods with surveys and interviews conducted by finding reliable informant sources. The data analysis used qualitative descriptive means. The results showed that there were 48 out of 50 people liked tea drinks, 37 people used tea plants as drinks, and 13 people used them as medicine. The level of knowledge of the Ngargoyoso people on the ethnobotany of tea plants is relatively low. The parts of the tea plant that can be used are young leaves, old leaves, young stems, and old stems.

Abstract

Technological advancements require teachers to create learning media that align with technological progress and the demands of the times for students. One educational tool that meets the technological demands of modern science education is the Android-based Smart Apps Creator (SAC). SAC proves highly effective for developing specialized educational applications, particularly for the diverse subject of Natural Sciences at the elementary level. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Android-based learning media using SAC in enhancing the science learning outcomes of sixth-grade students, focusing on the human locomotor system. Descriptive statistical analysis was employed as the research method. The findings indicate an improvement in students' learning outcomes regarding human locomotion, with the average pre-test score rising from 62.04 to 84.43 in the post-test.
