Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of habituation of discipline character in grade V students of SDN Kalisari through the concept of habitus and arena Pierre Bourdieu. A qualitative approach with phenomenological design is used to delve deeply into the experiences of principals, teachers, and students towards the habituation practices that take place. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed inductively based on the Miles and Huberman steps. The results of the study showed that routinely habitual practices such as morning prayers, Asmaul Husna readings, dhuha and dzuhur prayers, flag ceremonies, gymnastics, and class pickets succeeded in forming an automatic pattern of disciplined behavior. This process occurs through the gradual internalization of values so that the discipline evolves from external obedience to internal awareness. The difference in the level of discipline between students is influenced by variations in initial habitus, especially family support and home environment. Habituation has proven to be more effective than the reward-punishment approach  because it is able to instill values, strengthen self-regulation, and reproduce cultural capital through the example of teachers and the structure of school activities. The novelty of this research lies in the use of Pierre Bourdieu's concept of habitus and arena as an analytical framework to explain the process of internalizing the character of discipline through habituation in elementary schools which has been studied more normatively and descriptively.

Abstract

Mathematics learning on plane geometry area in elementary schools still faces challenges related to students’ low conceptual understanding, as instruction often emphasizes procedural use of formulas. This condition raises the question of how learning media can be developed to support students in constructing a better understanding of plane geometry area concepts. This study aims to develop and analyze the effectiveness of constructivism-based interactive PowerPoint learning media in improving elementary school students’ understanding of plane geometry area. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The learning media were implemented with 17 randomly selected fifth-grade elementary school students. Data were collected through pretest and posttest and analyzed using the normalized gain (N-Gain). The results indicate an improvement in students’ conceptual understanding, with the average pretest score increasing from 50.12 to 69.18 in the posttest. The obtained N-Gain value of 0.38 falls into the moderate category. These findings suggest that constructivism-based interactive PowerPoint media can be used as an alternative learning medium to support students’ understanding of plane geometry area concepts more effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing parents in choosing tutoring services and their impact on elementary school students' cognitive load. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving parents, students, and tutors. The results show that psychological factors are the most dominant in influencing parents’ decisions, especially expectations for children's academic improvement. Social and economic factors have less influence. Parents generally have positive perceptions of tutoring effectiveness, as it improves students’ understanding and learning motivation. Furthermore, tutoring does not significantly increase cognitive load, as students remain able to focus and maintain a balance between study and rest. However, emotional conditions and learning methods play an important role in managing students’ cognitive load. These findings indicate that proper instructional strategies are necessary to optimize learning outcomes without overloading students cognitively.

Abstract

Fires are a common disaster that can cause significant damage. Most fires are caused by negligence, such as failure to inspect gas stove hoses and unsupervised risky activities. Additionally, the public’s lack of knowledge and awareness regarding fire prevention and initial response poses a major challenge. Therefore, this activity aims to enhance the public’s knowledge and preparedness in preventing and managing stove fires in Sumber Village, RT 07/RW 01, Sukorejo Subdistrict. This activity also aims to provide education on the causes and risks of fires, improve understanding of preventive measures, train participants in simple initial fire response, and foster public awareness of the importance of safety regarding fire risks. This activity employed educational and participatory methods through lectures, demonstrations, and interactive discussions, supplemented by evaluations to measure improvements in community understanding. The results of the activity demonstrated increased knowledge, participation, and community awareness regarding fire prevention and initial fire response; thus, it can be concluded that the activity was successfully implemented and received a positive response from the community.

Abstract

Abstract: Misconceptions are often the cause of low student mathematics learning outcomes. In this study the authors seek to uncover the factors that cause students' misconceptions about plane shapes. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. This research is based on the problem that there are still many students who are wrong in answering several questions in the form of stories. In this study two students were taken using a purposive sampling technique as research subjects. From the research results, it was found that the cause of students' misconceptions in answering non-routine questions was the low understanding of students' definitions. The low understanding of definitions occurs because learning only relies on one teaching material in which the teaching material has very little information. In addition, the lack of use of teaching media by teachers results in students not being able to recognize other forms of flat shapes according to the definition. Apart from that, the lack of examples of flat shapes given makes students' understanding of definitions shallow. When given a flat shape with a different shape, students experience confusion. Abstrak: Miskonsepsi sering menjadi penyebab rendahnya hasil belajar matematika siswa. Dalam penelitian ini penulis berusaha mengungkap faktor-faktor penyebab miskonsepsi siswa tentang bangun datar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Penelitian ini didasari oleh permasalahan bahwa masih banyak siswa yang salah dalam menjawab beberapa soal berbentuk cerita. Dalam penelitian ini diambil dua orang siswa dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling sebagai subjek penelitian. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa penyebab miskonsepsi siswa dalam menjawab soal nonrutin adalah rendahnya pemahaman siswa terhadap definisi. Rendahnya pemahaman definisi terjadi karena pembelajaran hanya bertumpu pada satu bahan ajar yang mana bahan ajar tersebut informasinya sangat sedikit. Selain itu, minimnya penggunaan media ajar oleh guru mengakibatkan siswa tidak mampu mengenali bentuk bangun datar lainnya sesuai definisi. Selain itu, minimnya contoh bangun datar yang diberikan membuat pemahaman siswa terhadap definisi menjadi dangkal. Ketika diberikan bangun datar dengan bentuk yang berbeda, siswa mengalami kebingungan.

Abstract

Pendekatan STEM PJBL merupakan pendekatan pembelajaran yang memadukan beberapa disiplin ilmu dan dikombinasikan proses pembelajranya menggunakan model project. Melalui ppendekatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir, oleh karena itu penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan steam dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimental with one group pretest-posttest dengan populasi siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Data penelitian diambil dengan menggunakan instrumen angket berpikir kritis dan observasi. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa pendekatan STEAM mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis anak kelas V SD. Peningkatan tersebut tercermin pada indikator berpikir kritis yang menunjukkan peningkatan dibandingkan pembelajaran yang tidak menggunakan pendekatan STEAM. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata persentase setiap indikator pada saat pre-test sebesar 43,56% dan setelah dilakukan treatment diperoleh hasil post-test setiap indikator dengan persentase sebesar 65,98 sehingga jika dilihat dari rata-rata persentase tiap indikator terjadi peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis sebesar 22,42%.

Abstract

The problem of interrelationships between steps in solving mathematical problems is still a challenge in learning at the elementary school level. Many students have not been able to formulate solutions logically and completely due to a lack of reflective awareness of their thinking process. This study aims to describe the process of implementing reflective learning through mathematics learning journals and to analyze its impact on the interrelationships between students' thinking steps in problem solving. The study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method which was carried out in two cycles on fifth grade elementary school students with a total of 26 students as subjects. The instruments used included observation sheets, interview guidelines, problem-solving tests, and reflective journal assessment rubrics. The results showed that the implementation of reflective journals gradually increased the clarity of the sequence of steps (from 60% to 75%), the rationale for strategies (35% to 60%), and the identification of difficulties (25% to 55%). The average problem-solving test score also increased from 68 to 82. These findings indicate that reflective learning through learning journals is effective in strengthening logical understanding between steps and encouraging students' metacognitive awareness in solving mathematical problems.

Abstract

Penggunaan gadget pada anak sekolah dasar di era digital memberikan dampak terhadap perkembangan pengetahuan dan mentalitas anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak penggunaan gadget terhadap pengetahuan dan mentalitas anak sekolah dasar serta mengetahui peran orang tua dan guru dalam mengarahkan penggunaannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini terdiri atas anak sekolah dasar, orang tua, dan guru yang dipilih sesuai dengan kebutuhan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan gadget secara terarah dapat membantu anak memperoleh informasi, memahami materi pembelajaran, meningkatkan kemandirian belajar, serta memperluas wawasan melalui sumber digital. Namun, penggunaan gadget yang berlebihan tanpa pendampingan dapat menyebabkan anak kurang fokus dalam pembelajaran, terbiasa memperoleh informasi secara instan, serta mengalami perubahan pada interaksi sosial dan kontrol emosi. Dampak penggunaan gadget dipengaruhi oleh pola penggunaan, durasi, jenis aktivitas digital, serta pendampingan dari orang tua dan guru. Guru dan orang tua memiliki peran penting dalam memberikan aturan, arahan, pengawasan, dan pendampingan agar gadget digunakan sebagai media pendukung pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, penggunaan gadget pada anak sekolah dasar perlu diarahkan secara bijak agar mampu memberikan manfaat positif bagi perkembangan pengetahuan, cara berpikir, dan mentalitas anak.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis Augmented Reality (AR) bernama RUANG AJAIB pada materi bangun ruang serta mengetahui tingkat kelayakannya. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan 4D yang meliputi tahap define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas seorang ahli media, seorang ahli materi, satu guru kelas V, dan 21 siswa sekolah dasar. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, angket, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis secara kuantitatif menggunakan rata-rata skor serta secara kualitatif melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media RUANG AJAIB berhasil dikembangkan sesuai kebutuhan pembelajaran geometri di sekolah dasar. Validasi ahli media memperoleh rata-rata skor 4,4 dan ahli materi 4,6 dengan kategori valid. Respons siswa memperoleh rata-rata skor 21,19 dengan kategori positif. Media ini membantu siswa memvisualisasikan bangun ruang secara nyata, interaktif, dan menarik sehingga mendukung proses pembelajaran matematika. Dengan demikian, media RUANG AJAIB dinyatakan valid dan layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran geometri bagi siswa kelas V sekolah dasar.
