Abstract

Based on observations of the learning outcomes of class 1 students at Kaliwareng State Elementary School, it is known that the achievement of Mathematics scores is still low. The average score obtained was 58.6, while the KKM that had to be achieved was 60. Only 11 children or 42% completed their learning scores, the learning scores obtained were very worrying. Based on the background of the problem, the problem formulation in this research is: Can the use of smart ladder media improve student achievement in learning mathematics on addition and subtraction material in class 1 of Kaliwareng State Elementary School? After conducting research using Smart Ladder media, student learning completion reached 80%. The use of smart stairs can actually improve student learning outcomes. The indicator of success, namely the percentage of students who have completed learning, has been achieved after learning actions were carried out using smart stairs. In learning, the result was an increase in scores, namely from 42% with an average score of 48 in the pre-cycle to 66% or an average score of 59 in the level of completeness, and then reaching an average score of 80.7 (93% in the level of completeness). This is because by using Smart Ladder media, students are more active in learning, and students' learning independence increases. So that students' absorption capacity also increases.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the collaboration skills and scientific literacy of fifth-grade elementary school students through the implementation of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach in science learning. The study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The participants were 25 fifth-grade students from a public elementary school. Data were collected through observations, scientific literacy tests, documentation, and teacher reflection notes. Collaboration skills were measured using observation sheets, while scientific literacy was assessed through tests based on OECD indicators, including explaining scientific phenomena, evaluating and designing scientific investigations, and interpreting scientific data and evidence. The results showed a gradual improvement in students’ collaboration skills and scientific literacy from the pre-cycle to the second cycle. The percentage of students categorized as good and very good in collaboration skills increased from 32% in the pre-cycle to 76% in the second cycle. Meanwhile, the proportion of students achieving high and very high levels of scientific literacy rose from 40% to 80%. These findings indicate that the STEM approach is effective in fostering collaborative, contextual, and meaningful learning experiences. Therefore, the STEM approach is recommended as an alternative strategy in elementary science education to enhance students’ collaboration skills and scientific literacy.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kreativitas siswa kelas III MI Muhammadiyah Sambongsari pada pembelajaran IPA yang masih didominasi oleh metode pembelajaran konvensional sehingga kesempatan siswa untuk memperoleh pengalaman belajar secara langsung masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan peningkatan kreativitas siswa melalui penerapan metode outdoor learning dan  mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mendukung serta menghambat pelaksanaannya pada pembelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif yang didukung data kuantitatif sederhana menggunakan subjek 30 siswa kelas III MI Muhammadiyah Sambongsari. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, serta evaluasi hasil karya siswa, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif berdasarkan perkembangan yang terjadi pada setiap siklus. Penerapan outdoor learning dilaksanakan melalui tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, serta refleksi secara berulang pada beberapa siklus. hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kreativitas siswa yang ditandai dengan meningkatnya partisipasi aktif, keberanian mengemukakan gagasan, kemampuan mengeksplorasi lingkungan, dan  keterlibatan siswa pada pembelajaran IPA. dengan demikian, metode outdoor learning dapat dijadikan alternatif pembelajaran yang efektif dalam mengembangkan kreativitas siswa melalui pengalaman belajar yang aktif, kontekstual, dan  bermakna.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of a simulation-based Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in improving the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah Kranggan on fraction topics. The research employed a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design. The quantitative phase used a one-group pretest-posttest design involving nine students as research participants. Research instruments included a critical thinking skills test, observation sheets, and interviews with teachers and students. Quantitative data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test, while qualitative data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results revealed that the students' mean pretest score of 45.56 increased to 82.22 in the posttest, representing an improvement of 36.66 points. The paired sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference in critical thinking skills before and after the implementation of the learning model. Observation results showed increased student participation, collaboration, and engagement during the learning process. Interview findings further indicated that simulation activities helped students understand fraction concepts more concretely and enhanced their learning motivation. Therefore, the simulation-based Project-Based Learning model was proven effective in improving elementary school students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Background: The objective of this study was to analyze Worked Example Fading (WEF) implementation and evaluate its effectiveness in reducing instructional dependency while enhancing mathematical problem-solving abilities among fifth-grade elementary students. Method: This Classroom Action Research (CAR), utilizing the Kemmis and McTaggart model, spanned two cycles at SD Muhammadiyah Kabupaten Batang, Indonesia. Data were gathered via classroom observations, field notes, and Polya-based problem-solving tests. Crucially, the newly developed Worked Example Dependency Assessment (WEDA) monitored real-time trajectories of cognitive independence across five core dimensions: initiating problem solving, procedural independence, transfer ability, mathematical reasoning, and learning persistence. Result: The findings indicated that: (1) Baseline data showed acute dependency with 31.25% classical mastery. (2) Cycle I abrupt fading caused cognitive bottlenecks, though mastery reached 56.25%. (3) Cycle II adaptive micro-fading with self-explanation prompts minimized extraneous cognitive load, achieving an 82.10 average and 87.50% mastery. (4) WEDA evaluations unraveled a systematic mechanism of change, proving that procedural independence liberated working memory capacity for higher-order mathematical reasoning and far-transfer tasks. Implication: Elementary teachers should transition from rigid direct instruction to dynamic micro-fading strategies that shift cognitive agency to students. Furthermore, policymakers should champion process-oriented formative frameworks over purely summative assessments. Novelty: This study uncovers the dynamic, longitudinal cognitive transition from dependence to autonomy by operationalizing the novel WEDA process-based assessment framework in an authentic classroom

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are a crucial pillar of regional economic development, including in Caruban Village, Ringinarum District. One growing MSME is Abon Buana, which faces challenges in expanding its product promotional reach to compete in an increasingly competitive market. Utilizing digital marketing is a strategic solution to increase promotional effectiveness while expanding its target market. This study aims to analyze the role of digital marketing in developing promotional activities for Abon Buana. The method used was descriptive qualitative through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the implementation of digital marketing, particularly through social media (Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp Business) and marketplace platforms, contributes significantly to introducing products to the wider public, increasing interaction with consumers, and strengthening brand image. Creative content strategies tailored to local and global consumer trends have proven effective in attracting buyers. However, challenges include limited technology management capabilities, consistent content creation, and the need for ongoing mentoring. Thus, digital marketing plays a crucial role in strengthening the promotion of Abon Buana's MSMEs in Caruban Village, Ringinarum District, while also opening up opportunities to increase competitiveness in a broader market

Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of creative thinking skills as one of the essential competencies in the 21st century that should be developed through higher education learning processes. One learning model that has the potential to facilitate the development of creative thinking skills is Project-Based Learning (PjBL). This study aimed to analyze the creative thinking skills of students in the Elementary School Teacher Education Program (Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar / PGSD) in the Learning Innovation course through the implementation of the PjBL model. The study employed a quantitative descriptive method supported by qualitative data. The participants consisted of 30 fifth-semester PGSD students at Muhammadiyah University of Kendal Batang selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and interviews. Data analysis was conducted descriptively to describe students' creative thinking skills based on the indicators of fluency, flexibility, and originality. The findings revealed that students' creative thinking skills improved across all indicators after the implementation of PjBL. The percentage of fluency skills increased from 65.63% to 82.50%, flexibility from 61.56% to 78.44%, and originality from 61.67% to 82.08%. The highest improvement was found in the originality indicator, with an increase of 20.41%. Observation and interview results indicated that project-based learning provided students with opportunities to engage in discussions, exchange ideas, receive feedback, and reflect on and revise the projects they developed. These findings suggest that the implementation of PjBL is associated with a tendency to improve students' creative thinking skills during the learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menggambarkan penggunaan media video interaktif dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) dan menganalisis peningkatan hasil belajar siswa kelas V MI Muhammadiyah Gempolsewu. Rendahnya capaian belajar IPA dipengaruhi oleh penggunaan metode ceramah yang dominan serta terbatasnya variasi media pembelajaran, sehingga siswa kurang aktif dan tidak antusias selama pembelajaran. Penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dilakukan dalam dua siklus yang mencakup tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 25 siswa kelas V, terdiri atas 15 siswa laki-laki dan 10 siswa perempuan. Data dikumpulkan melalui lembar observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa, pedoman wawancara, serta tes formatif berbentuk soal uraian pada materi siklus air dengan kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM) 70. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan peningkatan hasil belajar secara bertahap. Pada tahap pra-siklus, ketuntasan klasikal tercatat sebesar 58,4% dengan 6 dari 25 siswa mencapai ketuntasan. Setelah media video interaktif diterapkan pada siklus I, persentase ketuntasan meningkat menjadi 72,6% dengan 14 siswa tuntas. Pada siklus II, ketuntasan mencapai 84,2% dengan 21 siswa tuntas dan telah melampaui indikator keberhasilan sebesar 80%. Peningkatan tersebut didukung oleh antusiasme siswa, kemampuan guru dalam mengoperasikan media, dan ketersediaan sarana prasarana sekolah. Adapun kendala yang muncul berupa gangguan teknis perangkat serta durasi video yang perlu disesuaikan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa media video interaktif efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas V dan dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran inovatif untuk membangun pengalaman belajar yang aktif, kontekstual, dan bermakna bagi siswa sekolah dasar.
