Abstract

The purpose of this research was; to determine the effect of traditional game based learning on the social skill students; and to find the different effect of traditional game based learning and expository learning on social skills students. This type of research is quantitative method with pre-test post-test control group design. Samples of this research were the fourth grade students of SDN Cieurih with 30 students as experimental group and SDN Cipicung with 25 students as control group. Data collection techniques used non-test techniques, including interview guides, observation guidelines, and documentation. The results showed that; there is a significant influence on learning that using traditional game to social skill of students, this is based on independet ttest result 0.00 < 0.05, and N-Gain 0.40 which is in medium category; and there is a very high average, high, sufficient, and low average difference in the social skills of students on traditional game-based learning with expository learning. This is evidenced by the acquisition of one way ANOVA test results of 0.00 < 0.05. Furthermore, post hoc test to determine the most significant group, obtained the largest mean difference in very high group, that is 31.333. The social aspect of tradisional game in social science learning were discussed.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the increase in science cognitive of students using snake ladder media. This study is quantitative research design by applying Pre-test – Post-test Control Group Design. The initial stage in the experimental class treated using snake ladder media, whereas, the control class treated by simple experiment. The subjects of the study were 65 Elementary school students who were participated in the implementation of this study with the population of Gugus Pattimura in Mejobo, Kudus. The data collection technique was using the learning outcomes test techniques with multiple choice type questions. The data analysis technique applied was quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results of this study indicated that there is an increase in the acquisition of science cognitive of students using snakes ladders media. The average pre-test scores were 60, meanwhile, the average post-test scores 72. The gain score of the pre-test and post-test data is 0.3 in moderate criteria. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of snakes ladders media can income students science cognitive.

Abstract

This study was based on students' low interest in learning. The renewal of learning is needed to improve students' interest and scientific literacy. The purpose of this study was to examine and analyze the effectiveness of the guided inquiry-based of interactive media to increase interest and student learning outcomes. The method used in this research was true experimental design with a form of pre-test and post-test control group design. Population in this study were students of Elementary School Pati Kidul 01. Meanwhile, sample in this study was 88 students that consists of 30 students VA as a trial class, 28 students VB as an experimental class, and 29 students VD as a control class. Student learning interest data were collected using questionnaire and analysis technique used the T test. Simultaneously, Student learning outcomes data were collected using performance tests and analyzed using the effect size and descriptive statistics. The results in this study show that guided inquiry-based of interactive media effectively increases student interest in learning as well as their science learning outcomes. It can be concluded that research on guided inquiry model which was applied to the development of interactive media has been able to increase student interest and science learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Guided Inquiry Model with SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) vision on communication skills and understanding the concept of science. This research design is quasi-experimental design. The data were obtained from a test and the experimental report assessment rubric. The analysis data was used quantitative analysis technique i.e effect size test, N-gain test, average difference test, and simple linear regression test. The result of the effect size value of the experimental class is 1.30 in the high category, while the control class is 0.59 in the moderate category. The mean score of the students' experimental reports was higher classically in the experimental class, namely 71 and 60 in the control class. The guided inquiry learning model with SETS vision is effective in improving students' understanding of science concepts. This is indicated by the average N-gain experiment 57.80> 39.70 N-control control and the average difference test results show the value of Asymp Sig. (2-tailed) of 0,000. (0.000 <0.05). Learning that familiarizes students with scientific thinking, finding concepts and connecting concepts with everyday life and communicating their thoughts both orally and in writing trains reasoning skills. This reasoning ability can develop communication skills in students and build understanding of concepts. This study concludes that learning the SETS Vision Guided Inquiry Model is effective in improving communication skills and understanding of science concepts

Abstract

Science is one of the most important subjects at every level of education. Based on initial observations at SD N Kandang Panjang 02 Pekalongan through interviews with science teachers, information was obtained that learning has not yet led to fostering student independence. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of learning video-assisted discovery learning on learning outcomes and student independence. This study uses a true experimental design research model in the form of pretest - posttest control group design. The Effectiveness of the Learning Video Assisted Discovery Learning Model on Science Learning Outcomes and Independent Characters of Grade V Elementary School Students. The research sample was a fifth-grade student, consisting of an experimental class and a control class with a total of 28 students in each class. The research hypotheses were tested using two-tailed t-test analysis. The results showed that the control class only got an average score of 30,93 while the experimental class only got an average score of 30,68. This means that the pretest scores of the control class and the experimental class have not yet reached the minimum completeness criteria. After teaching and learning activities were conducted using the discovery learning model assisted by learning video, the control class has obtained an average score of 76,46 and the experimental class has obtained an average score of 85,04. The student learning outcomes enhancement is shown by the normalized N-gain score of the experimental class students of 0,913 and the control class students of 0,838 that included in the high criteria. The percentage of discovery learning models assisted by Interactive Learning Videos, directing students to be more active and fun so they can build their knowledge. This research concludes that learning with discovery learning models assisted by interactive learning.
