Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan tugas berbasis modified free inquiry pada praktikum asam basa terhadap peningkatan pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan proses sains siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 2 Temanggung tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling, karena populasi berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest group design. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan metode tes, observasi, angket, dan dokumentasi. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa adanya pengaruh penerapan tugas berbasis modified free inquiry terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa sebesar 31,36% dan terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa sebesar 27,04%. Uji N-gain untuk pemahaman konsep siswa sebesar 0,72 dan keterampilan proses sains sebesar 0,66. Hal ini berarti terdapat peningkatan pemahaman konsep dalam kategori tinggi dan peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa dalam kategori sedang. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan penerapan tugas berbasis modified free inquiry pada praktikum asam basa dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan proses sains siswa.This research aimed to determine of the implementation of task based on modified free inquiry in acid-base practicum in increasing students’ concept understanding and science process skills. The population in this research was students of XI IPA SMAN 2 Temanggung in academic year 2013/2014. In selecting the sample, the researcher used cluster random sampling technique because the population’s distribution was normal and homogeneous. Design used in this research is  pretest-posttest group design. Data collection in this research was using test, observation, questionnaire and documentation. The result of data analysis indicated that there were an effect of the implementation of task based on modified free inquiry in acid-base practicum toward students’ concept understanding was obtained 31,36% and 27,04% for science process skills. N-gain test for students’ concept understanding was obtained 0,72 and 0,66 for science process skills. This means there is an increased students’ concept understanding in the high category and science process skills in the middle category. Based on the result of data analysis, it can be concluded that the implementation of task based on modified free inquiry in acid-base practicum increase the students’ concept understanding and science process skills.

Abstract

Difficulties experienced by chemistry teachers in Islamic Senior High Schools due to limited laboratory facilities and learning supports encourage the implementation of this activity. A character-based PBL-Green Chemistry learning model is expected to increase students’ creativity and characteristics. The method used in this activity was seminar and workshop, followed by participant feedback. Participants were then divided into groups to develop a PBL-green chemistry lesson plan together with the project products in accordance with the selected topic. These were given feedback and assessment from the team. Opinions and responses of participants to the enforceability of this activity has been done by distributing questionnaires filled out by the participants. This activity was able to increase the ability of 66.7% of chemistry teachers in Demak designing a character-based PBL-green chemistry learning design in chemistry topics at good category. This activity was able to grow the participants’ commitment to continue to create and innovate for the national education in Indonesia. However, the seriousness of teachers in trying to be creative with the project products still needs to be improved.

Abstract

The partnership between farmers and commodity associations in food, horticulture, and plantation sectors holds significant potential to strengthen farmers' bargaining position in Jombang Regency. This initiative highlights various challenges farmers face in marketing their products, particularly regarding price negotiations and limited market access. By implementing partnership strategies through commodity associations, farmers are expected to optimize their bargaining position in both local and regional markets. The outreach method involved organizing meetings between farmers and commodity associations. These meetings aim to facilitate stakeholder dialogue to discuss marketing strategies, fair price setting, and strengthening distribution networks. Additionally, training is conducted to enhance farmers' capacity to negotiate and understand market dynamics. The results of this outreach activity indicated an improvement in farmers' understanding of marketing strategies and price negotiation. Moreover, farmers' access to local and regional markets has increased through networks built with commodity associations. This is reflected in farmers' increased incomes and the stability of agricultural products in Jombang Regency. The partnership between farmers and commodity associations (Comas) effectively enhances farmers' bargaining position. With strong collaboration between both parties, farmers can gain more significant benefits regarding fair prices and broader market access, thus improving farmers' welfare and food security in the Jombang Regency. Kemitraan antara petani dengan asosiasi komoditas pangan, hortikultura, dan perkebunan memiliki peluang besar untuk memperkuat posisi tawar petani di Kabupaten Jombang. Inisiatif ini menyoroti berbagai tantangan yang dihadapi petani dalam memasarkan produk mereka, terutama dalam hal negosiasi harga dan keterbatasan akses pasar. Dengan menerapkan strategi kemitraan melalui asosiasi komoditas, diharapkan petani dapat mengoptimalkan posisi tawar mereka di pasar lokal maupun regional. Metode pengabdian ini melibatkan penyelenggaraan pertemuan antara petani dan asosiasi komoditas. Pertemuan tersebut bertujuan untuk memfasilitasi dialog antara pihak terkait guna membahas strategi pemasaran, penetapan harga yang adil, serta penguatan jaringan distribusi. Selain itu, dilakukan pelatihan untuk memperkuat kapasitas petani dalam bernegosiasi dan memahami dinamika pasar. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan dalam pemahaman petani mengenai strategi pemasaran dan negosiasi harga. Selain itu, terdapat peningkatan akses petani ke pasar lokal dan regional melalui jaringan yang dibangun Bersama asosiasi komoditas (Askom). Hal ini tercermin dari peningkatan pendapatan petani dan stabilitas harga produk pertanian di Kabupaten Jombang. Adanya kemitraan antara petani dan Askom merupakan strategi efektif dalam meningkatkan posisi tawar petani. Kerjasama yang kuat antara kedua belah pihak, petani dapat memperoleh manfaat lebih besar dalam hal harga yang adil dan akses pasar yang lebih luas sehingga meningkatkan kesejahteraan petani dan ketahanan pangan di wilayah Kabupaten Jombang.

Abstract

Jadam Organic Farming is realized through a combination of natural traditional farming principles with modern scientific practices and innovations. The magnitude of this activity is carried out as an alternative effort for farmers so that they are not dependent on chemical pesticides and use environmentally friendly pesticides. The Agribusiness Clinic Meeting activity was held at the Jatigedong Farmers Group Association, Jatigedong Village, Ploso District, which was held on May 11, 2023. The 4 stages carried out in this program are Problem Identification, Socialization of Jadam Sulfur Organic Pesticides, Application, and Evaluation. After studying and participating in various stages or training activities related to the management of Jaddam Sulfur Organic Pesticides, the Jatigedong Farmers Group, Jatigedong Village, Ploso District, is increasingly productive in producing organic pesticides. The crop yields are increasing and of high quality, although at first, there werestill obstacles that were not optimal. Jadam Sulfur is one of the pesticide formulations that is suitable for use and has good effectiveness in controlling several plant pests. Pertanian Organik Jadam terwujud melalui kombinasi dari prinsip-prinsip pertanian tradisional alami dengan praktik dan inovasi ilmu pengetahuan modern. Besarnya kegiatan ini dilaksanakan sebagai upaya alternative bagi petani agar tidak ketergantungan terhadap pestisida kimia dan menggunakan pestisida yang ramah lingkungan. Kegiatan Pertemuan Klinik agribisnis dilaksanakan di Gabungan Kelompoktani Jatigedong Desa Jatigedong Kecamatan Ploso, yang dilaksanakan pada 11 Mei 2023. 4 tahapan yang akan dilaksanakan pada program ini yakni Identifikasi masalah, Sosialisasi pestisida organik jadam sulfur, Aplikasi, dan Evaluasi. Setelah mempelajari dan mengikuti berbagai tahap atau kegiatan pelatihan terkait pengelolaan pestisida organik jaddam sulfur, kelompok tani Jatigedong Desa Jatigedong Kecamatan Ploso semakin produktif dalam menghasilkan pestisida organik. Hasil panen tanaman semakin bertambah dan berkualitas, meskipun pada awalnya masih mengalami kendala dan belum maksimal. Jadam Sulfur adalah salah satu formulasi pestisida yang layak digunakan dan memiliki efektivitas yang baik untuk pengendalian beberapa hama tanaman.

Abstract

Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) is highly favored among people with high economic status. In addition to being rich in various minerals and vitamins, lettuce is often used as a garnish in culinary dishes. This study aimed to determine the relationship between fertilizer types and planting media composition on the growth and yield of lettuce. The experiment was designed using a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors: fertilizer type (J) and planting media composition (K), with treatments repeated three times. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by the least significant difference (LSD) test at a 5% significance level. The results indicated a significant interaction between treatments on parameters such as plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, and root length. The combination treatment J3K3 yielded the best results. Fertilizer type significantly influenced plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf area, crown fresh weight, root length, and crown dry weight, with J3 (vermicompost fertilizer) being the most effective. Planting media composition significantly affected the number of leaves, stem diameter, and leaf area, with K3 (a composition of 1 kg of beach sand and 5 kg of organic fertilizer) producing the best outcomes. Sayuran selada (Lactuca sativa L.) sangat popular di kalangan masyarakat dengan ekonomi tinggi. Selain, kaya akan berbagai mineral dan vitamin, selada kerap dijadikan sebagai garnis disetiap hidangan makanan. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui apakah jenis perlakuan pupuk dan komposisi media tanam berhubungan dengan pertumbuhan dan hasil selada. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap dua faktor (RAL) yakni Jenis pupuk (J) dan komposisi media tanam (K) kemudian perlakuan diulang sebanyak tiga kali. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan metode analysis of variance (ANOVA) yang dilanjutkan dengan uji beda nyata terkecil (BNT) 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat interaksi nyata antar perlakuan terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang dan panjang akar. Perlakuan kombinasi J3K3 menunjukkan hasil terbaik. Perlakuan jenis pupuk berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang, luas daun, berat segar tajuk, panjang akar, dan berat kering tajuk, dengan perlakuan J3 (pupuk kascing) yang terbaik. Perlakuan komposisi media tanam memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah daun, diameter batang, dan luas daun, dengan komposisi K3 (komposisi 1 kg pasir pantai + 5 kg pupuk organik) menunjukkan hasil terbaik.

Abstract

Optimal growth of Land spinach in an aquaponic system requires the selection of superior varieties and appropriate substrates. Aquaponic systems combine aquaculture and hydroponics and offer a sustainable approach to organic crop cultivation. However, studies on substrate interaction and variety in water spinach growth are still limited. This study aims to evaluate the effect of interaction between substrate and water spinach variety on plant growth and yield in an aquaponic system, focusing on potential applications in modern agriculture. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used in this study with three levels of substrate, namely rockwool (M1), cocopeat (M2), and a mixture of cocopeat-charcoal (M3). Three levels of variety, namely Bisi (V1), Shanghai (V2), and Bangkok (V3), are repeated three times. Data analysis showed no significant interaction between substrate type and variety on plant height growth, dry weight, stem diameter, and leaf area at various stages of observation. These results indicate that the aquaponic system does not explicitly require certain water spinach varieties for different substrates, making it easier for farmers to manage cultivation. These findings support the flexibility of aquaponics practices, making them more efficient and easy to adopt in modern agriculture. The study confirms that aquaponics systems allow a versatile approach to kale cultivation without the constraints of a particular substrate or variety. With the efficiency offered, this system could be an innovative solution to increase sustainability and productivity in future agriculture. Sistem akuaponik, yang memadukan akuakultur dan hidroponik, menawarkan pendekatan berkelanjutan untuk budidaya tanaman organik. Namun, studi tentang interaksi substrat dan varietas terhadap pertumbuhan kangkung masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh interaksi substrat dan varietas kangkung terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman dalam sistem akuaponik dengan fokus pada potensi penerapan dalam pertanian modern. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem akuaponik tidak secara khusus memerlukan varietas kangkung tertentu untuk jenis substrat yang berbeda, sehingga mempermudah petani dalam pengelolaan budidaya. Temuan ini mendukung fleksibilitas dalam praktik akuaponik, menjadikannya lebih efisien dan mudah diadopsi dalam pertanian modern. Studi ini menegaskan bahwa sistem akuaponik memungkinkan pendekatan serbaguna untuk budidaya kangkung tanpa batasan susbstrat atau varietas tertentu. Dengan efisiensi yang ditawarkan, sistem ini dapat menjadi solusi inovatif untuk meningkatkan keberlanjutan dan produktivitas dalam pertanian masa depan.

Abstract

The application of plant-growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) offers an eco-friendly approach to enhancing crop growth and productivity. This study assesses the effects of PGPR derived from bamboo roots on growth metrics (e.g., stem diameter and branch count) and yield traits (e.g., pod count, fresh and dry pod weights, and harvested bean weight) of mung bean (Vigna radiata L.). Bamboo roots were selected as a unique source of PGPR because it fosters a favourable environment for beneficial microorganisms, enhancing nutrient absorption in plants. Conducted under controlled conditions, this experiment followed a completely randomized design, tested six PGPR dosage: 0 ml/polybag (H0), 10 ml/polybag (H1), 20 ml/polybag (H2), 30 ml/polybag (H3), 40 ml/polybag (H4), and 50 ml/polybag (H5) applied weekly. Results revealed significant growth promotion during the late vegetative phase, with H3 yielding optimal outcomes improved stem diameter, branch number, pod count, and seed dry weight. Higher dosages (H4, H5) negatively impacted growth, potentially due to microbial competition, nutrient imbalance, or stress. This eco-friendly method demonstrates the potential of bamboo-derived PGPR to boost mung bean productivity, supporting food security and profitability. Further studies should investigate its long-term effects and adaptability across diverse crops and farming systems, enhancing its utility for sustainable agriculture.

Abstract

The productivity of tomato plants is influenced by various factors, including climatic elements such as light intensity, humidity, rainfall, and temperature. These elements play a crucial role in supporting the growth and development of tomato plants. This study aims to analyze the impact of climatic factors on the productivity of tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum) in Nganjuk Regency. The research was conducted from January to March 2023 using a descriptive-analytical method. Secondary data collected include tomato productivity from 2013 to 2022 and climatic factors such as solar radiation, air temperature, humidity, and rainfall during the same period. Data analysis was performed using descriptive and quantitative methods, including correlation and regression tests. Climatic data were sourced from BMKG Nganjuk, while productivity data were obtained from BPS Nganjuk Regency. The analysis results indicate that, spatially, climatic factors significantly affect tomato productivity. However, when analyzed simultaneously, climatic factors show no significant relationship with tomato productivity in Nganjuk Regency. Specifically, solar radiation accounts for 41.6% of the productivity variance, air temperature contributes 40.9%, and humidity influences 41.8%. Produktivitas tanaman tomat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, termasuk unsur-unsur iklim seperti intensitas cahaya, kelembapan, curah hujan, dan suhu. Unsur iklim memainkan peran yang sangat penting dalam mendukung pertumbuhan dan perkembangan tanaman tomat. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mempelajari bagaimana unsur-unsur iklim mempengaruhi produktivitas tanaman tomat (Solanum lycopersum) di Kabupaten Nganjuk. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada periode Januari hingga Maret 2023. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analitik. Data sekunder yang dikumpulkan mencakup produktivitas tomat selama tahun 2013 hingga 2022, serta data unsur iklim yang meliputi radiasi matahari, suhu udara, kelembapan udara, dan curah hujan tahun 2013 - 2022. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mengaplikasikan metode deskriptif dan kuantitatif. Rekapitulasi data sekunder terdiri atas data iklim dari BMKG Nganjuk dan data produktivitas tomat dari BPS Kabupaten Nganjuk. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan teknik uji korelasi dan regresi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa secara spasial, unsur iklim memiliki hubungan dan pengaruh nyata terhadap produktivitas tomat. Namun, secara simultan, unsur iklim tidak memiliki hubungan maupun pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap produktivitas tomat di Kabupaten Nganjuk. Secara rinci, radiasi matahari memberikan pengaruh nyata sebesar 41,6% terhadap produktivitas tomat, suhu udara sebesar 40,9%, dan kelembapan udara sebesar 41,8%.

Abstract

Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) is highly favored among people with high economic status. In addition to being rich in various minerals and vitamins, lettuce is often used as a garnish in culinary dishes. This study aimed to determine the relationship between fertilizer types and planting media composition on the growth and yield of lettuce. The experiment was designed using a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors: fertilizer type (J) and planting media composition (K), with treatments repeated three times. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by the least significant difference (LSD) test at a 5% significance level. The results indicated a significant interaction between treatments on parameters such as plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, and root length. The combination treatment J3K3 yielded the best results. Fertilizer type significantly influenced plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf area, crown fresh weight, root length, and crown dry weight, with J3 (vermicompost fertilizer) being the most effective. Planting media composition significantly affected the number of leaves, stem diameter, and leaf area, with K3 (a composition of 1 kg of beach sand and 5 kg of organic fertilizer) producing the best outcomes. Sayuran selada (Lactuca sativa L.) sangat popular dikalangan masyarakat dengan ekonomi tinggi. Selain, kaya akan berbagai mineral dan vitamin, selada kerap dijadikan sebagai garnis disetiap hidangan makanan. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui apakah jenis perlakuan pupuk dan komposisi media tanam berhubungan dengan pertumbuhan dan hasil selada. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap dua faktor (RAL) yakni Jenis pupuk (J) dan komposisi media tanam (K) kemudian perlakuan diulang sebanyak tiga kali. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan metode analysis of variance (ANOVA) yang dilanjutkan dengan uji beda nyata terkecil (BNT) 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat interaksi nyata antar perlakuan terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang dan panjang akar. Perlakuan kombinasi J3K3 menunjukkan hasil terbaik. Perlakuan jenis pupuk berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang, luas daun, berat segar tajuk, panjang akar, dan berat kering tajuk, dengan perlakuan J3 (pupuk kascing) yang terbaik. Perlakuan komposisi media tanam memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah daun, diameter batang, dan luas daun, dengan komposisi K3 (komposisi 1 kg pasir pantai + 5 kg pupuk organik) menunjukkan hasil terbaik.
