Abstract

Cosmetics are needed by the public, such as hand and body lotions and face brightening creams, and there are many misuses of hazardous chemicals in cosmetics, including lotions and face brightening creams. Sodium hypochlorite, a  hazardous chemical, can cause skin damage, such as irritation, rash, hypersensitivity, and burns. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of sodium hypochlorite compounds and sodium hypochlorite in hand and body lotion cosmetics and face brightening cream. The method used in this research was qualitative analysis with color reaction and quantitative analysis with iodometric titration. The results qualitatively showed that color changes occurred in all samples. NaOCl concentration in hand and body lotion at 0.2% concentration showed an average NaOCl concentration of 3.263 % ± 0.25 and face brightening cream concentration at an average concentration of 10 mg showed NaOCl levels of 88.933 % ± 7.57. Based on this, it was concluded that in the samples of hand and body lotion and face brightening cream, sodium hypochlorite compounds with different levels. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan bagaimana bentuk nilai kepercayaan terhadap teman sebaya dalam lingkungan pendidikan dimana kepercayaan sangat dibutuhkan dalam rangka menjalin hubungan interpersonal dan melakukan adaptasi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan model deskriptif kualitatif, dalam pengumpulan data sampel ditentukan melalui pusposivesampel melalui responden terpilih, yang kemudian dilakukan dengan melakukan wawancara mendalam terhadap kepercayaan teman sebaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukan (1) Untuk menumbuhkan rasa percaya serta pembentukan karakter seseorang harus memiliki nilai-nilai kepercayaan, yaitu: Jujur, Bertanggung Jawab, Disiplin, serta Suka Menolong. (2) kepercayaan merupakan suatu fenomen dinamis yang terjadi secara intrinsic pada suatu keadaan alamiah, dimana kepercayaan merupakan hal yang menyangkut masalah mental didasarkan oleh situasi seseorang dan konteks sosialnya.

Abstract

Free radicals are known as an atom that does not have an electron pair and is unstable and only has one electron. Free radicals will act quickly to find their electron pairs. Jasmine leaves are rich in polyphenol antioxidants. Apart from jasmine, one type of plant that is suspected of being an antioxidant is moringa (Moringa oleifera, Lamk). Moringa plant has been known for centuries as a multipurpose plant full of nutrients and medicinal properties. Moringa leaves contain primary metabolites such as protein, fat, carbohydrates, various minerals, vitamins and amino acids. Rosella flowers contain many secondary metabolites, including polyphenols and falvonoids. The purpose of this study was to determine the highest antioxidant activity in tea from several tea brands (moringa leaf tea, rosella flower tea and jasmine leaf tea) using the DPPH method with tea brewing standards in accordance with those regulated in SNI 01-1902-1995 with levels constant temperature. Quantitative test results showed that the IC50 value of Rosella flower tea was 148 ppm (moderate antioxidant), the IC50 value of jasmine tea was 80 ppm (strong antioxidant) and the IC50 value of Moringa leaf tea was 88 ppm (strong antioxidant). Keywords: Antioxidant, Rosella flower, Moringa leaves, jasmine, Tea Abstrak Radikal bebas dikenal sebagai suatu atom yang tidak memiliki pasangan elektron dan tidak stabil serta hanya memiliki satu elektron. Radikal bebas akan cepat beraksi untuk mencari pasangan elektronnya. Daun melati kaya akan antioksidan polifenol. Selain tanaman melati, salah satu jenis tumbuhan yang diduga sebagai antioksidan adalah kelor (Moringa oleifera, Lamk). Tanaman kelor telah dikenal selama berabad-abad sebagai tanaman multiguna padat nutrisi dan berkhasiat obat. Daun kelor mengandung metabolit primer seperti protein, lemak, karbohidrat, berbagai mineral, vitamin dan asam amino. Bunga Rosella banyak mengadung senyawa metabolit sekunder antara lain polifenol dan falvonoid. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan tertinggi pada teh dari beberapa merk dagang teh (teh daun kelor, teh bunga rosella dan teh daun melati) menggunakan metode DPPH dengan standar penyeduhan teh sesuai dengan yang diatur dalam SNI 01-1902-1995 dengan tingkatan suhu yang konstan. Hasil uji kuantitatif menunjukkan bahwa nilai IC50 teh bunga Rosella 148 ppm (antioksidan sedang), nilai IC50 teh melati 80 ppm (antioksidan kuat) dan nilai IC50 teh daun kelor 88 ppm (antioksidan kuat). Abstract

One of the drugs commonly used by the general public is paracetamol. This drug has relatively mild side effects compared to other drugs, so it is common to be prescribed for compounding pulmonary drugs for patients with certain doses There are two grinding methods used, namely a mortir and a blender. The purpose of this study was determined the variation effects in the dissolution speed and particle size on decreasing levels of paracetamol potency in each grinding methods. UV-Vis Spectrofotometer was used as quantitative methode.  Based on the results, the percentage level of solubility velocity were in mortar: 70.54% aquadest, 115.49% ethanol, 96.10% acetone, 113.20% NaOH. In the blender: 65.44% aquadest, 88.14% ethanol, 48.31% acetone, 98.20% NaOH. Meanwhile, for variations in particle size, the mortar obtained: mesh20 101.82%, mesh40 117.73%, mesh80 80.91%, mesh100 113.20%. In the blender obtained: mesh20 96.98%, mesh40 88.40%, mesh80 69.06%, mesh100 99.11%. Furthermore, the statistical analysis by two-way anova obtained a significance value of 0.059 for variations in dissolution speed and 0.659 in particle size. In conclusion, there was an effect of variations in solvents but did not show an effect of variations in particle size on decreasing levels of active drug ingredients.

Abstract

Sibutramine HCl was known as one of the anti-obesity drugs known for its appetite-suppressing properties. The aims of this research were to analyze pharmaceutical chemicals content in slimming herbal remedies available in the East Lombok district market and to analyze the value and validation parameters for analyzing method of sibutramine HCl in these remedies using UV-Visible spectrofotometry. The method used qualitative analysis using thin-layer chromatography (TLC) and quantitative method used spectrophotometry UV-Visible. The method was validated to meet the specified requirements, including linearity, Limit of Detection (LoD), Limit of Quantification (LoQ), precision, and accuracy. The results of this research were, in qualitative analysis, 2 out of 5 samples were identified to contain sibutramine HCl with a value of Rf of 0.78. The selected wavelength for sibutramine HCl analysis was 224.40 nm, and the respective parameters of linearity, LoD, LoQ, precision, and accuracy were (r) 0.9991, 2,406 ppm, 7,291 ppm, 0.446% RSD, and 98.92% recovery. Based on the results above, showed that using the spectrofotometry UV-Visible method in this research complies with the established parameters.

Abstract

The high production of durian fruit gives an environmental problem if it is not used properly. Durian fruit skin contains flavonoids, phenolic compounds, saponins, and tannins which have antioxidant activity. Its antioxidant activity makes durian husk a candidate as a basic ingredient for natural cosmetics. Producing a formulation of scrub preparations as natural cosmetics based on the results of the characteristic test was the purpose in this research. Experimental research with a post-test design technique was carried out by making the changes of the concentration of durian husk as an active ingredient in the scrub preparations used in this study. The form of an oil-in-water cream scrub was used as the formulation in a change of concentration range of 1% (F1), 1.5% (F2), and 3% (F3) for each formula. Furthermore, the characteristic test was carried out which included organoleptic test, homogeneity test. pH test, viscosity test, spreadability test, and adhesion test. In this research also used statistica tests. The results showed that the best formulation is obtained from formulation 3 (F3) with a concentration of 3% durian rind. The characteristic test results include: stable organoleptic test for storage in terms of shape, color and odor; homogeneity test formed granules and there was no separation between the oil and water phases; Stable pH test according to skin pH at 5.05; spreadability test 7.3 cm; viscosity test 64 dPa.s; and 2.41 minutes of adhesion test. It pointed that all formulations fulfilled the requirements for topical scrubs in each characteristic test.

Abstract

Cajanus cajan or known as lebui is one of the local plants of Lombok which is used as a side dish and in some places empirically used as a treatment. This study aims to identify and analyze the antioxidant activity of the active fraction of lebui beans with various solvent variations. The design of post-test was used this study. The extract used was 96% ethanol extract with liquid-liquid fractionation method in various solvents such as methanol, n-hexane, and ethyl acetate. The results obtained were tested by thin layer chromatography with a standard comparison of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) in the eluent composition of ethyl acetate: methanol: formic acid (8:2:0,5). The antioxidant activity test used two tests, namely qualitative testing by spraying DPPH on the TLC plate and quantitative testing using UV-Vis’s spectrophotometer. The TLC test results obtained that the Rf value of lebui bean extract was 0.8, the Rf value for fraction I (n-hexane) was 0.8, the Rf value for fraction II (ethyl acetate) was 0.8, the Rf value for fraction III (methanol) was 0.2 and the standard Rf value for vitamin C was 0.8. The results of the qualitative test showed that fraction I and fraction II contained antioxidants. Further quantitative testing showed that the IC50 value of fraction I (N-Hexane), fraction II (Ethyl Acetate, and standard respectively were 148 ppm, 88.4 ppm, and 48 ppm. Based on this, it can be concluded that lebui beans have antioxidant activity in the category of strong antioxidant activity and more fracted on more polar solvent

Abstract

Antibiotics are drugs used to treat bacterial infections. Irrational use of antibiotics without a doctor's prescription causes antibiotic resistance. West Nusa Tenggara province is ranked sixth with the largest number of antibiotic consumption without a doctor's prescription so the incidence of antibiotic resistance increases. This community service aims to provide antibiotic resistance education to high school students in Selong District. The community service method was carried out at SMAN 1 Selong and SMAN 2 Selong which started with pretest, socialization, and posttest activities to measure students' knowledge of antibiotic resistance before and after socialization. The significance test of changes in students' knowledge levels before and after socialization was conducted using a paired sample t-test. The socialization participants from SMAN 1 Selong and SMAN 2 Selong consisted of 141 high school students in grade XI with an average age of 16. The pretest and posttest data analysis showed that students' knowledge levels regarding antibiotic resistance increased from 41% to 59% at SMAN 1 Selong and 42% to 58% at SMAN 2 Selong after socialization. The average value of students' knowledge about antibiotic resistance increased from 10.04 points to 14.73 points for SMAN 1 Selong and 10.33 points to 14.16 points for SMAN 2 Selong after the socialization was given from a total of 17 maximum points that could be obtained. The results of data analysis using paired sample t-test showed a significant difference (p<0.05) in the average level of student knowledge before and after the socialization activity was carried out. Thus, the antibiotic resistance socialization activity has successfully increased student knowledge in Selong District, especially at SMAN 1 Selong and SMAN 2 Selong effectively.

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki regulasi terkait dengan penggunaan pengawet sebagai bahan tambahan pangan, terutama terkait jenis dan jumlah yang diperbolehkan. Penggunaan pengawet yang tidak memenuhi regulasi dan persyaratan dapat mengindikasikan dan meninmbulkan bahaya kesehatan bagi konsumen. Salah satu makanan yang diproduksi dengan menambahkan pengawet adalah kerupuk kulit sapi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kandungan pengawet dalam kerupuk kulit sapi yang diperoleh di Desa Peresak secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Analisis dilakukan terhadap empat jenis pengawet yakni sodium tetraborat, formaldehid, sodium benzoat dan sodium nitrit. Analisis kualitatif dilakukan untuk mengetahui kandungan sodium tetraborat menggunakan uji kertas kurkumin, uji nyala api dan KLT; sedangkan formaldehid dianalisis menggunakan reagen Nash dan KLT. Analisis kuantitatif dilakukan terhadap sodium benzoat dan sodium nitrit menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Diperoleh hasil bahwa seluruh sampel yang digunakan tidak mengandung sodium tetraborat dan formaldehid. Kandungan sodium benzoat dan natrium nitrit yang didapatkan masing-masing

Abstract

Bagik Payung Selatan Village is one of the villages in Suralaga District, East Lombok Regency with a dense population of over 1.2 million people spread across 10 hamlets. The high population in Bagik Payung Selatan Village causes quite high amounts of waste production which can be seen from the large amount of rubbish piled up on the side of the road and environmental cleanliness still neglected. The community in Bagik Payung Selatan Village has a low level of awareness and knowledge regarding inorganic waste management. Most of the inorganic waste is plastic waste produced daily from household waste. This community service activity aims to provide education on inorganic waste management using ecobrick techniques with zero waste system principles in Bagik Payung Selatan Village so that the local community can manage inorganic waste well. The method of educating the community is carried out by providing outreach and training in skills to make handicraft products from inorganic waste which has previously been prepared using the ecobrick technique. The results of this community service activity include public knowledge and awareness regarding ecobrick techniques, the zero waste system principles, and community creativity in managing inorganic waste increased. The community is very enthusiastic about turning household waste into multiple useful handcraft products that can be reused and sold since they have high economic value to help the local community's economy.
