Cardiovascular diseases are diseases that cause high mortality and morbidity that can be prevented or reduced in risk of occurrence. However, there are still many people who do not make efforts to determine the level of risk of cardiovascular disease and do not know the efforts needed to reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease. This community service activity aimed to carry out health examination, identify risk factors and determine the risk of cardiovascular diseases in the community in Nagari Sungai Buluh Selatan, Batang Anai District, Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra. Activities are carried out using physical examination, assessing the level of disease risk and individual education about reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease methods. The instrument used to determine the level of risk is the Jakarta Cardiovascular Score. The results of this activity showed that 44.8% of the population had a moderate risk of suffering from cardiovascular diseases. Abstract

Adolescents are increasingly vulnerable to chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and heart disease, largely due to unhealthy lifestyles and poor dietary habits. This community service initiative aimed to improve adolescents’ knowledge and awareness regarding chronic disease prevention. The program was implemented at SMAN 9 Padang, involving 58 students, and comprised health education through lectures and individual health assessments—including measurements of weight and height, and family medical history screening. Results indicated that 34.5% of students were classified as underweight based on their body mass index (BMI), while 20.7% were overweight. Identified risk behaviors included smoking (22.3%), physical inactivity (35.5%), and a family history of hypertension (43.1%). The educational intervention led to a significant improvement in students' knowledge, with the average score increasing from 6.74 (pre-test) to 7.82 (post-test) on a 10-point scale. This school-based education and health screening initiative effectively enhanced adolescent awareness of chronic disease prevention and underscored the importance of early interventions to foster healthier lifestyles among youth.

Abstract

Radiotherapy for breast cancer has been proven to be highly effective, able to significantly reduce the risk of recurrence and lower the risk of death in the long term. However, behind these great benefits, there are side effects that need to be considered, such as skin toxicity, which can have a significant impact on the patient's physical and psychological condition. Therefore, it is necessary to review various literature to determine the various experiences of breast cancer patients with acute skin toxicity who underwent radiotherapy. Objective: To explore and analyze the experiences of breast cancer patients with acute toxicity undergoing radiotherapy through the literature. Method: Search for articles using the keywords acute skin toxicity AND breast cancer AND experience AND radiotherapy. Articles were searched through three online databases, namely sciencedirect (n = 43 articles), pubmed (n = 38 articles), and proquest (n = 32 articles). A total of 113 articles were collected through the data base. Through three screening processes that met the criteria, 4 articles were obtained. Results: This study found an outline of the classification of themes that emerged, namely: physical, functional, psychological impacts, and prevention of skin disorders due to radiotherapy as well as knowledge of breast cancer patients regarding radiotherapy. It is hoped that the results of this research can contribute to improving health care by expanding the scope of services to not only cover physical problems but also non-physical.

Instrumen yang digunakan Self-Care of Coronary Heart Disease Inventory (SC-CHID) dan World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL-BREF).
