Abstract

Police officers from the Mass Control Unit (DALMAS) are a police unit with the task of providing security against demonstrations. The chaotic conditions of the demonstration became a reality that they had to face while on duty. The rioting of the demonstrators not only poses a big risk, but in the rioting there are also efforts that can provoke DALMAS members to become emotional and aggressive, in other words provoked. The provoked variable is a very interesting study, but from the many results of research on aggressive behavior, a measurement scale that can be used to obtain quantitative data has not been found. This study tries to compile constructs and items to be able to measure the state of being provoked. The measurement construct was compiled and tested for conformity by involving 5 assessor panelists, and then 35 members of DALMAS were involved to conduct trials to determine the reliability of the items. The result managed to get a number of items that can be used to measure the state of being provoked, the measurement bits show a fairly accurate reliability. Although the existing items are able to measure variables, these results have not involved a large number of respondents.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract Heart rate is an indicator to see mental activity in humans. Anger is a mental activity that has been investigated in many previous studies. There have been uses of impressions as a stimulus, but not yet in 360 format (virtual reality). This study is a preliminary study to determine the impact of demonstration impressions on heart rate activity. Impressions are made in two forms; Riot demonstrations and peaceful demonstrations, which were given to the subjects using the Virtual Reality Box. A total of 40 subjects were involved to reject their heartbeats and were given the intervention of broadcast 1 for riot demonstration and broadcast 2 for peace. Heart rate is measured through the blood flow read by a sensor bracelet, to further differentiate heart rate differences that occur in subjects. The results of the observation analysis found that there was a difference in the subject's heart rate when given 1 and 2 impressions. The results of comparative trials have proven that demonstration impressions can have an impact on different heart rates when compared to peaceful demonstrations. Keywords: Anger, Demonstrations, Heart Rate, Impressions Abstrak Denyut jantung menjadi indikator untuk melihat aktivitas mental pada manusia. Abstract

Despite the moral emphasis in religious-based schools, some students still engage in deviant behavior. Weak social bonds within families, schools, or communities may contribute to this issue. This study examines the roles of psychological safety, sanctions, and academic commitment in preventing deviant behavior. A survey was conducted among 200 students from religious-based schools in Bekasi. Validated instruments measured Deviant Behavior, Psychological Safety, Sanctions, and Academic Commitment. Data were analyzed using correlation, mediation, and moderation analyses. Psychological safety (-0.195) and academic commitment (-0.279) showed significant negative correlations with deviant behavior. A psychologically safe environment enhanced motivation and compliance, while academic commitment reinforced moral values. Sanctions also had a weak negative correlation (-0.186) with deviant behavior, supporting social norms. Psychological safety and sanctions together explained 6.8% of the variance in deviant behavior (R² = 0.068). Mediation analysis revealed that academic commitment mediated the effect of psychological safety on deviant behavior but not that of sanctions. Moderation analysis indicated that sanctions strengthened the impact of psychological safety. Although the correlations were weak, they remained statistically significant, highlighting the importance of psychological safety in fostering positive behavior. Family psychology emphasizes parental influence, while legal psychology underscores the role of fair and consistent sanctions. Integrating psychological safety, academic commitment, and sanctions may help reduce deviant behavior in religious-based schools. Future research should explore interventions to strengthen moral commitment and social bonds.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between work engagement and sense of purpose in life among working Generation Z employees. The background of this research is based on the phenomenon of lack of meaningful work experienced by Generation Z, in which work perceived as lacking meaning can lead to decreased motivation, work engagement, and psychological well-being. This study employed a quantitative method with a correlational design. The participants consisted of 150 working Generation Z employees at PT X, selected based on power analysis calculations. Data were collected using a work engagement scale and a sense of purpose in life scale and analyzed using Pearson’s correlation after meeting the assumptions of normality, linearity, and homogeneity. The results indicated a significant and positive relationship between work engagement and sense of purpose in life (r = 0.813; p 0.001), suggesting that higher levels of work engagement are associated with a stronger sense of purpose in life. The categorization results showed that the majority of respondents were in the high category for both work engagement and sense of purpose in life. These findings highlight that a sense of purpose in life is an important psychological resource in enhancing work engagement among Generation Z. This study provides practical implications for organizations to not only focus on structural aspects of work but also support the development of employees’ sense of meaning and life purpose to improve work engagement and psychological well-being.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of self-control on FoMO among Generation Z individuals who play Roblox in Bekasi City. A quantitative approach was employed using simple linear regression analysis with 184 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included the Online Fear of Missing Out (ON-FoMO) scale and the Brief Self-Control Scale. The results of the simple linear regression indicated a regression coefficient of −0.895 and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.332, with a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), suggesting that self-control accounts for 32.2% of the variance in FoMO, while the remaining variance is explained by other factors not examined in this study. These findings demonstrate that self-control has a significant negative effect on FoMO meaning that self-control can suppress Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) in Generation Z who play Roblox in Bekasi City. However, most respondents were classified in the moderate category, indicating that self-control was not sufficient to reduce FoMO to a low level. This study highlights the importance of strengthening self-control, and future research is recommended to include additional variables such as self-regulation and self-esteem.
