Abstract

Buyung dance is a traditional Sundanese dance that reflects the Sundanese community in taking water. Also, the meaning of a pitcher is a kind of tool made of metal or clay, often used by some village women in earlier times to take water in rivers, lakes, or ponds. When viewed closely, the Buyung dance formation has mathematical concepts such as the field of geometry, transformation of the geometry, and the counts and measurements made by the dancers in performing the Buyung dance. Besides, each formation also has its philosophical significance. This research is a qualitative study. The researcher directly goes to the field, studies a natural process of discovery through the process, records, analyzes, interprets, and reports, and draws conclusions from the process. Data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the research, it was concluded that the beauty of the formation in the pitcher dance was identical to the pattern of the Frieze group. also, the formation formed has a philosophical meaning that reflects the local wisdom of the local community

Abstract

Students generally experience errors in two forms, namely conceptual and execution errors. Conceptual errors are related to students' lack of understanding, while execution errors occur when attempting to solve problems with incomplete procedures. This study aims to measure students' understanding of concepts after learning. The misconception analysis in this study used a four-tier diagnostic test. The results of this test provide five categories of student answers, namely understanding concept (understand), incomplete understanding (partial understanding), misconception, not understanding the concept (not understand), and cannot be coded (uncode). This research uses a mixed method. The data analysis phase is carried out by analyzing the data collected as Matching Familiar Figure Test (MFFT), four-tier diagnostic test data results, and in-depth interview data based on the results of the study concluded that in terms of students' reflective-impulsive cognitive style, impulsive students tend to experience higher misconceptions than reflective students.

Abstract

One of the mathematics learning successes is that students are able to complete mathematical problem solving. Existing conditions that students are still unable to complete mathematical problem solving. Learning models combined with learning media are expected to enable students to solve mathematical problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) on the material of ruang sisi datar (kubus) with the help of Lectora Inspire media on students' geometry problem solving abilities. Lectora inspire is an e-learning content development tool that is easy to use as an online learning. This research was carried out in SMPN 1 Cilimus, Kabupaten Kuningan. The research method used is quantitative method while the research design used is Posttest-only Control group design. The study population was all student class VIII and the sample used was class VIII4 as an experimental class and class VIII2 as a control class. Based on the acquisition of research data obtained the average mathematics posttest of the experimental class students was 72.75 and the posttest control class was 47.47. Student responses to the application of problem based learning learning models with an average score of 78.13, the average student response to the Lectora Inspire media was 78.7. Based on the data analysis test, it is known that tcount <ttable or 1.570 < 2.024 so it can be concluded that there is no influence of the use of Lectora Inspire media on students' geometry problem solving ability on the subject of the cube

Abstract

This study aims to assess mathematics teachers' understanding of Mathematics Content Knowledge based on the Revised Bloom Taxonomy. The method used is quantitative descriptive research with a survey approach. The respondents of this study were mathematics teachers who taught at SMP/MTs in Losari District, Brebes Regency. Data was collected using non-test instruments in the form of questionnaires and question tests. Data analysis involves presenting data, testing differences, and concluding. The results showed that teachers' understanding of Mathematics Content Knowledge in teaching and mastery of the material was categorized as strong. Based on Bloom's revised taxonomy, teachers have good mastery, especially in knowledge dimensions such as factual, conceptual, procedural, and metacognitive knowledge, which are categorized as high. There was no significant difference in the average Mathematics Content Knowledge score of teachers, either with a working period of less than 10 years, 10-15 years, or more than 15 years.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the skill of weaving various types of rattan woven motifs with the ability of mathematical logical thinking of students in schools around the Galmantro Rattan Tourism Village of Cirebon Regency. The method used is a quantitative research method with a One-Shot Case Study research design. Data collection techniques used in the form of observation, tests, and questionnaires. The results of this study are (1) during the training, the respondents felt interested in knowing how to weave and the types of woven motifs for rattan crafts because in reality the respondents had never tried directly to weave rattan woven motifs; (2) based on the correlation coefficient test between weaving skills and the mathematical logical thinking test the t and t_table test values are 7.711 more than 2.045, so that the two variables have a significant relationship with the relationship level of 0.599 in the medium category. Keywords: weaving skills, woven motifs, mathematical logical thinking

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to determine the ability of students 'mathematical disposition through learning STAD models, to find out the increase in the ability of mathematical disposition through learning STAD models, and to assess whether increasing the ability of mathematical disposition of students through learning STAD models is better than increasing the ability of students' mathematical disposition through conventional learning and to find out students' responses to STAD learning models. This research uses a quantitative approach in the form of quasi experimental research. The experimental design used is the type of Nonequivalent control group design. The design is used to determine the ability of students' mathematical disposition before and after being given the STAD model. Increasing students' mathematical disposition abilities using STAD learning models obtained a percentage increase of 12%. The control class with a total of 31 student scores before treatment was 89.77 and after treatment was 97.26 with an average score difference of 7.49. Increasing the ability of mathematical disposition that uses conventional learning has a percentage increase of 8%. This shows that the mathematical disposition ability of the experimental class students is higher than the control class.Keywords: STAD, mathematical disposition, Nonequivalent control group design AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan disposisi matematika siswa melalui pembelajaran model STAD, untuk mengetahui besar peningkatan kemampuan disposisi matematika melalui pembelajaran model STAD, dan untuk mengkaji apakah peningkatan kemampuan disposisi matematika siswa melalui pembelajaran model STAD lebih baik dari pada peningkatan kemampuan disposisi matematika siswa melalui pembelajaran konvensional dan untuk mengetahui respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran model STAD. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif yang berupa penelitian eksperimen kuasi. Desain eksperimen yang digunakan yaitu jenis Nonequivalent control group design. Desain tersebut digunakan untuk mengetahui kemampuan disposisi matematika siswa sebelum dan sesudah diberikan model STAD. Peningkatan kemampuan disposisi matematika siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran model STAD didapat prosentase peningkatan sebesar 12%. Kelas kontrol dengan jumlah 31 siswa skor sebelum treatment adalah 89,77 dan sesudah treatment adalah 97,26 dengan selisih skor rata-rata sebesar 7,49. Peningkatan kemampuan disposisi matematika yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional memiliki prosentase peningkatan sebesar 8%. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan disposisi matematika siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol.Kata kunci: STAD, disposisi matematika, Nonequivalent control group design

Abstract

AbstractThis study identifies and analyzes misconceptions about numeracy based on cognitive style. The research used a mixed approach with descriptive analysis involving 34 students in one of the public high schools in Kuningan. Data were collected using the Matching Familiar Figure Test (MFFT), numeracy questions, and interviews. There were 55.88% reflective cognitive style students, 23.54% impulsive, 11.76% slow-inaccurate, and 8.82% fast-accurate. Reflective students have a misconception rate of 22.10%, with the highest error in symbolic operations. Impulsive students showed a misconception rate of 34.17%, with the highest error in symbolic operations. Reflective students experience process skill errors, while impulsive students often experience transformation errors. These results indicate that students with impulsive cognitive styles rush to solve problems. Students who have a reflective cognitive style, when viewed based on the nature of their cognitive style, on average, show in the classroom that students tend to be slow in solving problems or problems. However, the answers given are more accurate and precise. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis miskonsepsi pada numerasi berdasarkan gaya kognitif. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan campuran dengan analisis deskriptif yang melibatkan 34 siswa di salah satu SMA Negeri di Kuningan. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes Matching Familiar Figure Test (MFFT), soal numerasi, dan wawancara. Terdapat 55,88% siswa bergaya kognitif reflektif, 23,54% impulsif, 11,76% lambat-tidak akurat, dan 8,82% cepat-akurat. Siswa reflektif memiliki tingkat miskonsepsi sebesar 22,10%, dengan kesalahan tertinggi pada operasi simbolik. Siswa impulsif menunjukkan tingkat miskonsepsi sebesar 34,17%, dengan kesalahan tertinggi juga pada operasi simbolik. Siswa reflektif cenderung mengalami kesalahan keterampilan proses, sementara siswa impulsif sering mengalami kesalahan transformasi. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa kecenderungan siswa dengan gaya kognitif impulsif cenderung terburu-buru dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Sedangkan siswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif reflektif, jika dilihat berdasarkan sifat gaya kognitifnya rata-rata menunjukkan di dalam kelas siswa cenderung lambat dalam menyelesaikan soal atau permasalahan tetapi jawaban yang diberikan lebih akurat dan tepat.

Abstract

This study identified students' mathematical understanding and communication deficiencies, especially in dividing numbers. Although bowls and marbles have been used to support mathematical conceptual understanding, there are limitations in understanding how students communicate effectively about division and numbers in practical contexts. This study explores students' mathematical communication skills in dividing and counting and how using bowls and marbles influences this. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach involving direct observation and video recording. The study subjects comprised four students with mild intellectual disabilities and different characteristics in communicating and understanding mathematical concepts. The instruments used included observation notes and video recordings of learning. Data were collected through observation of the learning process and video analysis to assess communication skills and conceptual understanding. The results showed that students 1 and 2 had better mathematical communication skills and a strong understanding of division, although with some initial errors. Students 3 and 4 highly depended on teacher direction and were less active in verbal communication. This study concludes that using bowls and marbles can improve understanding of division, but the success of mathematical communication is greatly influenced by active student involvement and teacher direction. This study implies the need to develop more interactive learning strategies and additional support for students with difficulties in mathematical communication. Applying teaching techniques emphasizing active student involvement and effective use of bowls and marbles can improve understanding of mathematical concepts and communication skills. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi kekurangan dalam pemahaman dan komunikasi matematis siswa, terutama dalam konteks pembagian bilangan. Meskipun bowls and marbles telah digunakan untuk mendukung pemahaman konsep matematis, terdapat keterbatasan dalam memahami bagaimana siswa berkomunikasi secara efektif mengenai pembagian dan membilang dalam konteks praktis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dalam konteks pembagian dan membilang serta bagaimana hal ini dipengaruhi oleh penggunaan mangkok dan kelereng. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif, melibatkan observasi langsung dan rekaman video. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari empat siswa tunagrahita ringan dengan karakteristik berbeda dalam berkomunikasi dan memahami konsep matematika. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi catatan observasi dan rekaman video pembelajaran. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi proses pembelajaran dan analisis video untuk menilai kemampuan komunikasi dan pemahaman konsep. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa 1 dan siswa 2 memiliki kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang lebih baik dan pemahaman yang kuat mengenai pembagian, meskipun dengan beberapa kesalahan awal. Siswa 3 dan siswa 4 menunjukkan ketergantungan yang tinggi pada arahan guru dan kurang aktif dalam komunikasi verbal. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa media manipulatif dapat meningkatkan pemahaman pembagian, namun keberhasilan komunikasi matematis sangat dipengaruhi oleh keterlibatan aktif siswa dan arahan guru. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya pengembangan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan dukungan tambahan bagi siswa yang menunjukkan kesulitan dalam komunikasi matematis. Penerapan teknik pengajaran yang menekankan pada keterlibatan siswa secara aktif dan penggunaan media manipulatif yang efektif dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis dan keterampilan komunikasi.

Abstract

In this study, researchers found a problem: there is still a lack of student interest in learning mathematics due to the media provided, which is less innovative and interactive, so students feel bored. Therefore, this research aims to (1) develop interactive learning media using Google Sites based on Android to increase student learning interest in Flat Buildings material grade VII SMP / MTs, (2) test the feasibility of the media, and (3) increase student learning interest. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the 4-D development model (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate). The instruments used were expert validation, student response, learning interest, and pretest-posttest questionnaires. The results of this study obtained an average value from media experts of 92% with a very feasible category, while material experts obtained an average of 84% with a feasible category. The results of the N-Gain test obtained an average value of 82%, and the results of the student interest questionnaire of 76.62%. These results show that Android-based Google Sites learning media effectively increases student interest in learning. It can be concluded that interactive learning media using Android-based Google Sites is feasible and effective in increasing student interest in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the ability of Madrasah Aliyah mathematics teachers to develop Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions through training and mentoring. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design involving 20 mathematics teachers. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and document analysis, then analyzed using thematic and descriptive statistics. The findings indicate that teachers' understanding of HOTS principles, reasoning levels, and question formulation steps after participating in the training significantly improved, with an average increase of 55–70% across key indicators. However, some teachers still struggled to integrate real-world contexts into the HOTS questions they developed. These findings highlight the importance of continuous professional development programs to strengthen teachers' competency in designing HOTS-based assessments. Further research is needed to explore the long-term impact of this training on student learning outcomes.
