Abstract

Mathematical disposition plays an important role in increasing student motivation in learning mathematics. High mathematical disposition has an impact on the good learning outcomes of mathematics. This study aims to test the increase in the mathematical disposition of students who take open-ended learning based on ethnomathematics and determine the effect of mathematical disposition on students' mathematical abilities. This quantitative research refers to a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data collection techniques in this study used non-test and test techniques. The instrument used was a questionnaire to measure students 'mathematical disposition and test questions to measure students' mathematical abilities. The data analysis technique used is the gain test and regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that the mathematical disposition of students who take ethnomathematics-based open-ended learning is increased by 47%, which means that it is included in the medium category and mathematical disposition affects students' mathematical abilities through the application of open-ended learning based on ethnomathematics by 57.9%. This means that open-ended learning based on ethnomathematics can improve students' mathematical disposition.

Abstract

This research aimed to analysize mathematical problem-solving abilities in plane figure material based on his Polya’s theory in fourth-grade students of SDN 5 Kalipucang Kulon. This research is based on test and interview results which show that mathematical problem-solving skills of fourth grader was still low. Problem solving skills is real effort in order to find for way out or idea related to goals to be achieved. Mathematical problem-solving indicator according to Polya’s theory are four stages, including: (a) understanding the problem, (b) devising a plan, (c) carrying out the plan, and (d) looking back. This research used descriptive qualitative design. The participants were 6 fourth-graders by high, medium, and low categories. The researcher collected the data by documentation of problem-solving ability test and interview. Data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, and drawing a conclusion. The research result showed that (1) students with high category were able to understand the problem, devisie and carry out the plan, and look back according to Polya’s stage. (2) Medium category students were only capable to understand the problem, devise and carrying out the plan, but unable to do looking back. (3) Low category students face a difficulty in understanding the problem, can not write completion plan and do the calculation, and also unable to look back the answer. This research suggested to teachers to be able to accompany and provide special attention to low grade students problem-solving ability in facing the story questions, and should getting used to students in a way introduce story questions related to daily life so that students will get used to face problem in mathematical study.

Abstract

AbstractTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan pembelajaran kooperatif model mind mapping berbantuan CD pembelajaran terhadaphasil belajar peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Semarang tahun pelajaran 2011/2012. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Semarang tahun pelajaran 2011/2012 yang berada dalam enam kelas. Sampel diambil secara random sampling. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dengan metode dokumentasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata hasil belajar matematika dengan pembelajaran mind mapping berbantuan CD pembelajaran lebih baik dari rata-rata hasil belajar matematika dengan pembelajaran direct instruction, hasil belajar peserta didik mencapai KKM, dan proporsi hasil belajar peserta didik yang diajar dengan pembelajaran mind mapping berbantuan CD pembelajaran yang telah memenuhi KKM lebih baik daripada proporsi hasil belajar peserta didik yang diajar dengan pembelajaran direct instruction. Simpulan yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran mind mapping berbantuan CD pembelajaran lebih efektif daripada pembelajaran matematika dengan direct instruction untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas VIII pada materi pokok teorema Pythagoras.The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of cooperative learning model of mind mapping assisted CD learning againts learning outcomes class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Semarang school year 2011/2012. The population in this study is class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Semarang school year 2011/2012 which is in six classes. Samples were taken by random sampling. Data collection methods used are the methods of documentation and tests. The results show the average results of math learning with mind mapping learning assisted CD learning is better than average learning outcomes of learning mathematics with direct instruction, student learning outcomes achieved KKM, and the proportion of study of students who were taught mind mapping learning assisted CD learning has met KKM better than the proportion of study of students who are taught with direct instruction teaching. The conclusions obtained in this study is the learning mind mapping assisted CD learning is more effective than learning mathematics with direct instruction to improve learning outcomes of students in class VIII in the Pythagorean theorem subject matter.

Abstract

Based on the results of pre-cycle test and observation of the fifth-grade students at Unggulan Muslimat NU Kudus Elementary School, it`s found that the average students` science literacy is low.This study attempts to discover the improvement of Unggulan Muslimat NU Kudus Elementary School fifth grade students` science literacy when apply discovery learning assisted by audio visual media. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) that conducted in Unggulan Muslimat NU Kudus Elementary School, in even semester in the academic year of 2017/2018. The subjects of this research are the researcher as the teacher model and the fifth grade students that consists of 29 students. This study held for two cycles, there are two meeting in every cycle and consist of four phases: plan, action, observe, dan reflection. The independent variable of this study is discovery learning assisted by audio visual media, and the dependent variable is science literacy. Data collections of this study are science literacy test for knowledge aspect (cognitive), and observation for science literacy of attitude aspect (affective), competention aspect (psychomotor). This study is qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The result of this study shows that, there is enhancement of science literacy of the fifth grade students of Unggulan Muslimat NU Kudus Elementary School in the force material, between first cycle 71,9% and improved in the second cycle 81,5% with high category. This results shows that the application of discovery learning model assisted with audio visual can improve science literacy of the fifth grade students of Unggulan Muslimat NU Kudus Elementary School.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan matematika peserta didik menyebabkan munculnya sikap ketidaksenangan terhadap matematika, dan sebaliknya. Ketidaksenangan tersebut akan memunculkan rasa takut dan cemas ketika belajar matematika. Kecemasan matematika juga dapat muncul karena proses pembelajaran matematika yang kurang menyenangkan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu: (1) mengetahui apakah rata-rata kecemasan matematika peserta didik yang diajar dengan pembelajaran probing-prompting bernuansa etnomatematika lebih rendah dari rata-rata kecemasan matematika peserta didik yang diajar dengan pembelajaran ekspositori dan (2) mengetahui penurunan kecemasan matematika peserta didik yang mengikuti pembelajaran probing-prompting bernuansa etnomatematika. Penelitian ini mengacu pada nonequivalent control group design yang merupakan bentuk desain dari kuasi eksperimen. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas IV SD NU Nawa Kartika Kudus pada semester genap tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu dengan pemberian angket untuk mengukur kecemasan matematika peserta didik. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini meliputi uji perbedaan rata-rata (uji t) dan uji gain untuk mengetahui penurunan kecemasan matematika peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kecemasan matematika peserta didik yang diajar dengan pembelajaran probing-prompting bernuansa etnomatematika lebih rendah dari rata-rata kecemasan matematika peserta didik yang diajar dengan pembelajaran ekspositori dan kecemasan matematika peserta didik yang mengikuti pembelajaran probing-prompting bernuansa etnomatematika mengalami penurunan sebesar 48% dengan kategori sedang.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by QR code on students’ mathematical problem solving ability. This experimental research was carried out on students of the Elementary School Teacher Education Study ProgramUniversitas Muria Kudus in the mathematical concept course in the academic year of 2016/2017. The ability to solve mathematical problems is measured by tests. Data analysis techniques used include t-test and proportion test. The results of this study are: 1) the mathematical problem solving ability of students who learn through PBL assisted by QR code is better than the mathematical problem solving ability of students who learn through Direct Instruction learning; 2) the mathematical problem solving ability of students who are taught with PBL assisted by QR code have reached the minimum completeness criteria (MCC) and 3) the proportion of students taught with PBL assisted by QR code that has reached the MCC is better than the proportion of students studying through Direct Instruction learning that have met the minimum completeness criteria (MCC). Thus, the lecturer can develop PBL assisted by QR code to create interesting learning so that students are enthusiastic about the learning, which will have a positive effect on their mathematical problem solving ability.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara keterampilan proses berpikir matematis mahasiswa dengan hasil belajar mahasiswa dan mendeskripsikan keterampilan proses berpikir matematis mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Matematika semester VI dalam mata kuliah Analisis Kompleks. Subjek dalam penelitian adalah mahasiswa semester VI Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Muria Kudus yang berjumlah 27 mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini melalui teknik tes. Teknik tes digunakan untuk mendapatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa aspek kognitif dan keterampilan proses berpikir matematis mahasiswa. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data yang meliputi analisis inferensial untuk menguji korelasi antarvariabel dan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara keterampilan proses berpikir matematis mahasiswa dengan hasil belajar mahasiswa. Sebagian besar keterampilan proses berpikir matematis mahasiswa hanya mencapai predikat B yaitu sebesar 48,15% mahasiswa, rata-rata keterampilan proses berpikir matematis mahasiswa adalah 62,96 dan secara klasikal tergolong pada predikat BC, serta berdasarkan indikator, keterampilan proses berpikir matematis mahasiswa belum optimal karena hanya mencapai rata-rata 57,87 %.

Abstract

The ability to think mathematically is very important for students to solve problems in everyday life. However, in reality, many students cannot find concepts, reason, problem-solving, communication, and connect mathematics to other sciences. This happens because students are not able to understand abstract mathematics. Teaching materials are needed in the form of applications on the device so that they are attractive to students. The ethnomathematics mobile module is a teaching material that contains mathematical material that is brought closer to everyday life through ethnomathematical learning. This study uses research and development (R&D) methods with the Borg & Gall model which is adapted from Sugiono's development model. The data of this study were obtained from a validation questionnaire of material experts and media experts. The type of data produced is qualitative data which is analyzed with assessment criteria guidelines to determine product quality. The purpose of this study is to obtain an ethnomathematics mobile module design to facilitate valid mathematical thinking skills. Based on the results of the assessment from the validator, the average value of the ethnomathematics mobile module material validity test was 3.76 (very valid) by material experts and the validity of the ethnomathematics mobile module media was 3.80 (very valid) by media experts. These results indicate that the ethnomathematics mobile module that was developed is valid or feasible to use.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan representasi matematis siswa dengan gaya kognitif Field Intermediate (FDI) dalam menyelesaikan soal etnomatematika di SD 1 Muhammadiyah Kudus. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah tiga siswa kelas III SD 1 Muhammadiyah Kudus yang memiliki gaya kognitif FDI. Tiga siswa tersebut tergolong dalam FDI lemah, sedang, dan kuat. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknis analisis yang mengacu pada Miles dan Huberman, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Jawaban siswa pada TRM dianalisis dan subjek penelitian diwawancara sebagai triangulasi. Langkah selanjutnya yaitu menganalisis data kemampuan representasi siswa dari subjek FDI. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profil representasi matematis siswa FDI tergolong baik, tetapi masih banyak kendala yang dihadapi. dalam representasi visual, siswa belum dapat menyajikan kembali data atau informasi dari suatu representasi ke representasi tabel; dalam representasi simbolik, siswa belum dapat membuat konjektur dari suatu pola bilangan; dan dalam representasi verbal, siswa belum dapat membuat situasi masalah berdasarkan data atau representasi yang diberikan, dan belum dapat menyusun langkah-langkah penyelesaian masalah matematis dengan kata-kata. AbstractThis study aims to analyze the mathematical representation ability of students with the Field Intermediate (FDI) cognitive style in solving ethnomathematics problems at SD 1 Muhammadiyah Kudus. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research subjects were three third grade students of SD 1 Muhammadiyah Kudus who had FDI cognitive styles. The three students were classified as low, medium, and high FDI. Data analysis in this study uses technical analysis that refers to Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Students' answers on TRM were analyzed and research subjects were interviewed as triangulation. The next step is to analyze the student's representation ability data from the subject of FDI. The results of the study showed that the FDI students' mathematical representation profile was good, but there were still many obstacles encountered. in visual representation, students have not been able to restate data or information from a representation to the table representation; in symbolic representation, students have not been able to make a conjecture of a number pattern; and (3) in verbal representations, students have not been able to create problem situations based on data or representations provided, and have not been able to arrange steps to solve mathematical problems with words.

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the learning interest of fifth grade students at SD N Winong 01 Pati. This research utilized qualitative descriptive method. This research was conducted at SD N Winong 01 Pati, Desa Winong, Kecamatan Winong, Kabupaten Pati. The focus of this research was studentsʼ learning interest towards WhatsApp-based online learning. The primary sources of data in this research were five 5th grade students at SD N Winong 01 Pati. In addition, the secondary sources of data were obtained through documentation of the students’ assignments and WhatsApp Group, articles, reference books, and other supporting data. The result of this research showed that students were often bored during learning at home. Moreover, teachers gave assignments without given materials or media to support the process of learning everyday. This caused the students less interested and not involved in learning. Students only responded and focused on the assignment given to them. The demand to submit the assignment everyday made the students motivated to learn and they did the assignment diligently. Besides, students also became more diligent and disciplined in learning and had a schedule of learning.
