Abstract

Objectives: The objective of this study is to analyze the effect of followership in increasing affective commitment, complemented by a mediation mechanism using job satisfaction and moderating variable job tenure.Methodology: This study is using the quantitative research approach involving 131 employees from the service industry in East Java. Data retrieval using a convenience sampling technique. The instrument used is a questionnaire that is distributed online. Data analysis used SEM_PLS with Smartpls 3.0 application. Finding: The results found that followership can increase work satisfaction, and job satisfaction can directly affect commitment. Surprisingly, good followership had no direct effect on affective commitment. However, the followership mediation mechanism successfully increases affective commitment through job satisfaction. Finally, job tenure has succeeded in strengthening the role of followership in increasing affective commitment.Conclusion: These findings suggest that if a leader wants to increase employees' affective commitment using a followership attitude, they must pay attention to employee job satisfaction and tenure.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze business opportunities available to immigrants returning to their home countries through a Literature Review approach. Returning immigrants bring valuable skills, capital, networks, and knowledge gained while living abroad, creating potential for starting and growing businesses in their homeland. Their international experience often allows them to recognize and capitalize on untapped market opportunities with a fresh perspective. Key factors that drive the success of these businesses include supportive economic conditions, newly acquired skills, stronger financial capital, and support from international business networks, providing access to broader markets and partnerships. However, these immigrants also face challenges such as cultural differences, complex business regulations, limited access to capital, and potential stigma or social discrimination. Economic, political, and social conditions in their home countries further influence the success of their ventures. Findings from this review offer valuable insights for governments and relevant institutions in formulating supportive policies for immigrant entrepreneurs, and inform future research exploring specific factors impacting the economic engagement of returning immigrants.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of individual characteristics, organizational commitment and job satisfaction on employee performance with an organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) mediation mechanism in the banking industry in Indonesia. The data analysis used was quantitative analysis. Data collected by random sampling technique with questionnaire disseminated online using Google Form to 122 employees. Data was analyzed using SEM-PLS via SmartPLS application. The results verified that individual characteristics had a significant effect on employee performance. However, organizational commitment and job satisfaction do not have an effect on employee performance. Furthermore, individual characteristics, organizational commitment and job satisfaction have a significant effect on OCB. Then OCB has a significant effect on employee performance. In addition, OCB mediates in part the influence of individual characteristics on employee performance. While OCB perfectly mediates the effect of organizational commitment and job satisfaction on employee performance

Abstract

Profesi guru merupakan pekerjaan yang mengandung unsur profesionalisme karena untuk menjadi guru diperlukan ilmu, baik secara konten maupun pedagogi. Kemampuan komunikasi sangat diperlukan untuk mendukung proses kegiatan belajar mengajar di lingkungan sekolah. Komunikasi yang baik antara santri dan guru akan menciptakan tercapainya proses belajar mengajar yang efektif. Selain itu, kepemimpinan juga sangat penting karena memiliki peran yang besar dalam proses pengambilan keputusan dan menentukan keberhasilan lembaga pendidikan. Kegiatan pengabdian yang telah dilakukan ditujukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi guru-guru di Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Sa’idiyah, Bangkalan, Madura. Selain pelatihan komunikasi, guru-guru juga akan diberikan pelatihan dalam mengelola kepemimpinan diri. Melalui pelatihan komunikasi dan kepemimpinan diri tersebut, guru-guru ditargetkan mampu mengambil keputusan secara terukur serta meraih keberhasilan dalam proses belajar mengajar secara efektif. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan secara langsung dengan metode pendampingan intensif dan berkolaborasi secara langsung dengan Laboratorium Kewirausahaan FEB UB. Dampak kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat 2024 ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan komunikasi dan kepemimpinan guru Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Sa’idiyah Bangkalan Madura. Pelatihan ini juga diharapkan dapat membantu guru-guru di Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Sa’idiyah Bangkalan Madura dalam membangun hubungan yang lebih baik dengan para santri serta memberikan kemampuan dan keterampilan yang diperlukan untuk mengelola berbagai situasi dalam proses belajar mengajar sehingga berimplikasi pada meningkatnya kualitas pendidikan yang ada.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to identify the effect of work load on job stress among sandwich generations in Jabodetabek with compensation as the mediating variable. This quantitative research was conducted based on the gaps between previous studies regarding the effect and the direction of the relationship between work load and job stress, in addition to the increasing ratio of stress experienced by the said generations in Indonesia following the COVID-19 pandemic. The research population is employees categorized as sandwich generation who live and work in Jabodetabek, from which 220 people were selected as the respondents. The data was harvested via questionnaires and was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling – Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) in SmartPLS version 3.2.9. This study finds that (1) work load positively and significantly influences job stress, (2) work load negatively and significantly affects compensation, (3) compensation negatively and significantly influences job stress, and (4) work load positively and significantly impacts job stress with the mediation of compensation.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh beban kerja terhadap stres kerja bagi sandwich generation di Jabodetabek dengan kompensasi sebagai variabel mediasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini didasari pada research gap yang terdapat pada penelitian-penelitian terdahulu mengenai pengaruh dan arah hubungan beban kerja terhadap stres kerja. Selain itu dilatarbelakangi dengan adanya fenomena peningkatan rasio dan stres yang dialami sandwich generation di Indonesia pascapandemi COVID-19. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah karyawan yang bekerja dan bertempat tinggal di area Jabodetabek dan berstatus sebagai sandwich generation. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 220 responden dengan kuesioner sebagai media pengumpulan data responden. Metode analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) dengan menggunakan program SmartPLS versi 3.2.9. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) beban kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap stres kerja, (2) beban kerja berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap kompensasi, (3) kompensasi berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap stres kerja, serta (4) beban kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap stres kerja yang dimediasi oleh kompensasi.

Abstract

The purpose of this quantitative research is to analyze the effects of compensation, workplace environment, and job description on the interest of Generation Z to apply for job. This causal study attempts to identify the influence of the independent variables, i.e., compensation (X1), workplace environment (X2), and job description (X3), on the dependent variable, i.e., the interest of applying for job (Y). Using convenience sampling, ninety people were selected as the sample. The data was harvested via Likert-scaled questionnaires and was analyzed using multiple linear regression and coefficient of determination test. The results of the hypothesis testing, which incorporates the t-test, indicate that compensation, workplace environment, and job description positively and significantly affects the interest to apply for job.   Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh kompensasi, lingkungan kerja, dan deskripsi pekerjaan terhadap minat generasi Z dalam melamar kerja. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Causal Study atau studi kausal untuk mengetahui pengaruh variabel independen yaitu Kompensai (X1), Lingkungan Kerja (X2), dan Deskripsi Pekerjaan (X3) terhadap variabel dependen Minat Melamar Kerja (Y) dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dengan cara menyebar kuesioner. Sampel penelitian yang digunakan berujumlah 90 responden dengan menggunakan convenience sampling. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dari responden adalah metode survey dengan skala pengukuran adalah skala likert. Alat analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah regresi linear berganda dan koefisien determinasi. Sedangkan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji t. Hasil dari penelitian berdasarkan analisis data dan pengujian hipotesis yang dilakukan diketahui bahwa Kompensasi, Lingkungan Kerja, dan Deskripsi Pekerjaan berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap Minat Melamar Kerja.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect simultaneously and partially related to work discipline and compensation on the performance of employees of PT Merak Jaya Beton Pasuruan. This study uses a quantitative method with explanatory research. This study also uses instrument tests, classical assumptions, and multiple linear regression. The population in this study amounted to 100 people and used a saturated sampling technique for all employees at PT Merak Jaya Beton Pasuruan, totaling 100 employees. The data analysis tool used is SPSS Statistics 26.0 in the form of multiple linear regression analysis, as well as hypothesis testing through the t test and coefficient of determination test. The results of this study indicate that the variables Work Discipline (X1) has a significant influence on Employee Performance (Y) at PT Merak Jaya Beton Pasuruan. And the results of this study also show that partially the compensation variable (X2) has a significant influence on employee performance (Y) at PT Merak Jaya Beton Pasuruan.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh secara simultan dan parsial terkait dengan disiplin kerja dan kompensasi terhadap kinerja karyawan PT Merak Jaya Beton Pasuruan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan penelitian penjelasan. Adapun penelitian ini juga menggunakan uji instrument, asumsi klasik, dan regresi linier berganda. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 100 orang dan menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh seluruh karyawan di PT Merak Jaya Beton Pasuruan yang berjumlah 100 karyawan. Alat analisis data yang digunakan adalah SPSS Statistics 26,0 berupa analisis regresi linear berganda, serta uji hipotesis melalui uji t dan uji koefisien determinasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel Disiplin Kerja (X1) memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap Kinerja Karyawan (Y) PT Merak Jaya Beton Pasuruan. Serta hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial variabel Kompensasi (X2) memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap Kinerja Karyawan (Y) PT Merak Jaya Beton Pasuruan.

Abstract

The research is aimed to analyze effect of environment variable both in internal environment (marketing, financial and production), or external environment (buyer, competitor, technology, government) simultaneously and partial good also the dominant variable toward performance of small and medium enterprises ceramics at Dinoyo, Malang. The result research has some suggestions, such as improvement with increasing ceramic industry of Dinoyo, Malang: (1) In increasing development for industry of ceramic Dinoyo, Malang, the local government, especially industry and commercial department office should do education by giving training, controlling and quality control product, and also education in financial area, such, financial, marketing, and management, (2) Production is one of important factor necessary for craftsman in order to be more sensitive to develop their product in good quality. Another important factor is marketing, financial, and technology. (3) The craftsman should be more increasing of company performance, so it can maximize product result desired in increasing quality product. (4) Service quality to customer must be increased, so the customer likes and interest in buying ceramic product. The craftsman should be more opened in receiving criticism from their customers. (5) The future research can continue and improve this research on more adequate and more deepening research indicator or entering other variable not discussed yet on this research.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the effect of e-servicescape dimensions (aesthetic appeal, layout and functionality, and financial security) on customer trust of Tokopedia e-store. This research involved 200 respondents as the data were gained through an online questionnaire. Data analysis was run in SmartPLS software. From the test result, it is found that aesthetic appeal, layout and functionality, and financial security demonstrate a positive and significant effect on customer trust. Based on these findings, it is concluded that improving e-servicescape dimensions result in better customer trust of Tokopedia e-store. Further research may include more variables like the technology acceptance model (TAM) and e-WOM for enhancing the framework of this recent research to predict customer trust for the e-store.

Abstract

Employee performance will be more optimal if the employee combines it with social media. Moreover, social media platforms have various applications supporting employee performance, such as Zoom, Google Meetings, Skype, Telegram, and Whatsapp. Social media has fairly high accessibility, is easy to apply, and provides a variety of certain features that can support employees' work. For this reason, this study will examine the effect of social media on employee performance, mediated by employee engagement and job satisfaction. This research was conducted on educational employees at Brawijaya University Malang. Brawijaya University is one university that uses social media for its employees. Furthermore, the research data were analyzed using PLS (Partial Least Square) with the SEM (Structural Equation Model) approach. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, but in this study, it is not known for a certain number of employees who use social media, so researchers refer to determining the minimum sample size for the SEM model, which is 5-10 times the number of indicators. Based on these considerations, the respondents obtained a total of 122 employees with the status of State Civil Apparatus. The results of the PLS analysis show that social media has no significant effect on employee performance. Nonetheless, employee engagement and job satisfaction perfectly mediate the relationship between social media and employee performance. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that social media can improve the performance of educational employees at Brawijaya University Malang through the mediating role of employee engagement and job satisfaction.
