Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between family support and assertiveness with the tendency to use narcotics in early adulthood. The univariate results show that family support has an average score of 2.591, indicating a high level of family support. Family support, particularly in the forms of emotional, esteem, and instrumental support, was found to play a significant role in preventing drug abuse, with a t-test yielding a t-value of 4.103 (p < 0.05). Meanwhile, assertiveness also had a high average score (2.573) and significantly influenced the tendency to use narcotics, with a t-value of 5.051 (p < 0.05). The multivariate analysis results indicate a significant interaction between both variables, with an F-value of 336.378 (p < 0.05), suggesting that family support and assertiveness together can reduce the tendency to use narcotics. The study concludes that the combination of positive family support and high assertiveness can strengthen an individual's protection against the risk of narcotic abuse in early adulthood.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the relationship between gratitude and self-control with self-acceptance in women who experience domestic violence (DV). Gratitude is defined as an individual’s acknowledgment of the presence of others or certain sources that play a role in providing the blessings they receive. Meanwhile, self-control refers to an individual’s ability to direct, regulate, and manage their behavior as well as control negative impulses that arise within themselves. Self-acceptance, on the other hand, is a positive attitude toward oneself, in which individuals are able and willing to accept their condition, including both strengths and weaknesses. The method used in this study employed a quantitative correlational approach, involving 349 women who were victims of domestic violence. The results of the first hypothesis test showed f = 12.233 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between gratitude and self-control with self-acceptance in women experiencing domestic violence. The second hypothesis test revealed a significant positive relationship between gratitude and self-acceptance, with a Pearson correlation value of 0.190 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). This means that the higher the level of gratitude, the higher the self-acceptance among women victims of domestic violence. The third hypothesis test showed a significant positive correlation between self-control and self-acceptance, with a Pearson correlation value of 0.184 and p = 0.004 (p < 0.05). This suggests that the higher the level of self-control, the higher the self-acceptance among women victims of domestic violence. Gratitude and self-control contributed an effective variance of 6.6% to self-acceptance.

Abstract

Millennials and Generation Z are the age groups that dominate the use of digital dating applications. In these generations, building interpersonal relationships is relatively easy, including interactions through digital platforms. The phenomenon of ghosting—defined as the sudden termination of communication without explanation—frequently emerges in this context. This study aims to explore the relationship between attachment style and dark triad personality traits on ghosting behavior among dating application users. The research employed a quantitative approach with a path analysis method. The sample consisted of 254 emerging adults who use dating applications, selected through purposive sampling techniques. The results showed that attachment style had a significant negative effect on ghosting behavior (β = -0.408; p < 0.05), indicating that individuals with secure attachment are less likely to engage in ghosting. Conversely, dark triad personality traits had a significant positive effect on ghosting behavior (β = 0.548; p < 0.05), where the dimensions of Machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy increased the likelihood of ghosting. Regression analysis revealed a significant simultaneous contribution (F = 471.850; p < 0.05), with the independent variables explaining 79% of the variance in ghosting behavior. These findings indicate that attachment style and dark triad personality traits play an important role in shaping ghosting behavior in the digital era. This study can serve as a basis for developing psychological interventions to improve the quality of interpersonal relationships in the context of dating applications.

Abstract

Enuresis is bed wetting behavior experienced by individuals who have gone through the developmental age of toilet training. This condition makes individuals and those around them experience problems in dealing with enuresis. The behavioral approach is an approach used to change maladaptive behavior into adaptive behavior. This approach is an effective therapy for children to carry out agreed behaviors to obtain the expected behavior. The token economy is a behavioral approach to giving tokens (signs) that focuses on modifying behavior to increase expected behavior and reduce unexpected behavior. Obtained tokens are collected in an agreed upon amount to be exchanged for prizes. Children with enuretic behavior can modify behavior using token economy techniques to anticipate enuretic behavior. The results of this study explain that the token economy can help overcome non-organic enuresis in children. Children are able to make changes in behavior according to the contract that has been planned together to avoid enuresis (wetting the bed).

Abstract

Burnout is the result of long-term, poorly managed stress, which eventually leads to physical exhaustion. In corporate environment, burnout is a serious problem that needs special attention because it not only impacts the health and well-being of employees, but also directly affects productivity, performance, and the sustainability of company operations. Employees who apply job crafting by proactively adjusting tasks, work relationships, and perspectives on work to align with their abilities and resources are less likely to experience burnout, because they can create a work environment that is more meaningful and suits their personal needs. A positive and supportive organizational culture plays an important role in reducing employee burnout. Work engagement also found to be able to decrease burn out.  However, the mechanism of their influences on burn out still needs to be understood.  This study aims to analyze the relationship between job crafting, organizational culture and burn out through work engagement as a mediator. The research subjects involved 106 employees from two state-owned companies, namely PT X in Sidoarjo and PT Z in Surabaya, Indonesia. A path analysis conducted using JASP for Windows. The results show that work engagement mediates the relationship between job crafting, organizational culture, and burnout. In conclusion, employees who are active in job crafting and have a positive view of the company culture and values tend to have higher work engagement, which in turn make employees less likely to experience burnout. This study findings provide new understanding on how company can prevent employees burnout.

Abstract

The profession of being a female sex worker carries various forms of risks that encompass physical, sexual, and social aspects. Engaging in this work over a long period is a process filled with courage, self-reflection, and complex dynamics of changing life perspectives. Nevertheless, many of them still have hopes and determination to improve their lives for the better. This study focuses on efforts to understand the relationship between problem-focused coping and social support with life meaningfulness among female sex workers. The research approach used is quantitative with a multiple correlation analysis model. From a total population of 232 people, 44 respondents were selected as the research sample. The research instruments included measures of problem-focused coping, social support, and life meaningfulness, which were analyzed using multiple correlation techniques. The results showed that the first hypothesis could not be tested because the data did not meet the normality assumption. Meanwhile, the second hypothesis indicated a negative relationship between problem-focused coping and life meaningfulness, whereas the third hypothesis found a positive relationship between social support and life meaningfulness. These findings suggest that the greater the social support received, the higher the level of life meaningfulness experienced by female sex workers.

Abstract

AbstractRevenge porn is a form of Gender – Based Online Violence (GBOV) that has a significant impact on the psychological well – being of victims, one of which is anxiety, which can disrupt their social and emotional lives. This study aims to analyze the role of family function and resilience in reducing anxiety among revenge porn victims. This research employs a quantitative approach, involving 90 respondents aged 16 – 29 years who have experienced revenge porn and reside in East Java. The sampling technique was conducted using purposive sampling and snowball sampling, while data collection utilized a Likert scale, including the anxiety scale (Nevid, 2005), family function scale (Epstein, 1978), and resilience scale (Connor & Davidson, 2003). The findings indicate that, simultaneously, family function and resilience have a negative relationship with anxiety. Partially, both family function and resilience also show a significant negative correlation with anxiety. These results emphasize that good family function and high levels of resilience can help revenge porn victims manage their anxiety effectively.
