Abstract. This study aims to describe the form of poverty in the novel Gadis Pesisir using theory of sociology of literature. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type, the researcher describes the data on the form of poverty on social life. The data in this study are words, sentences, and paragraphs that reveal the form of poverty and the influence of poverty on social life. Data source in this study is the novel Gadis Pesisir by Nunuk Y. Kusmiana published by Gramedia Pustaka Utama in 2019 with a book thickness of 321 pages. Data collection techniques in this study are reading and note-taking techniques, through analysis techniques, namely data identification, data classification, data analysis and interpretation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the portrait of poverty contained in the novel Gadis Pesisir is the inability to meet basic consumption (clothing, food, and housing), lack of access to other basic necessities of life (health, education, sanitation, clean water, and transportation), lack of security for life future (due to the lack of investment in education and family), vulnerability to individual and mass shock, low quality of human resources and limited natural resources, occurrence of physical or mental disability, and social disability and disadvantage. Kajian ini menggunakan kajian Semiotika Riffaterre dengan, teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara. Teknik analisis penelitian dilakukan dengan reduksi data, menyajikan data, dan melakukan verifikasi atau kesimpulan. Hasil dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemaknaan gelong tedong dapat dilihat dari pertama pembacaan hermeneutik yang ditujukan untuk mendapatkan makna secara keseluruhan yaitu perjalanan kerbau yang banyak bahkan dikatakan beribu-ribu diawali dengan perjalanan melalui laut kemudian daratan dari Gowa kemudian Makassar berjalan dari sana menuju ke Enrekang atau Bambapuang, ke Karangan, Salubarani, ke Tampo, tangti, hingga sampai di daerah Mengkendek dan melanjutkan perjalanannya hingga tiba di kota yang diimpikan yaitu Tanah Toraja. Matrik, model dan varian yang ditemukan mewakili seluruh makna dalam teks yaitu sanjungan atau nyanyian tentang kerbau dan penggambaran kerbau dari negeri seberang yang dengan doa dan sanjungan dan harapan untuk datang ke negeri masyarakat Toraja.

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan struktural cerita dalam cerpen serta menemukan adanya relasi budaya yang terdapat dalam antologi cerpen yang dijadikan sebagai sumber data yang dianalisis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan mendeskripsikan data yang diperoleh berdasarkan pada teori yang digunakan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan empat uraian dalam analisis strukturalisme Levi-Strauss yaitu pada tataran geografis menunjukkan penggambaran daerah dalam cerpen yang dilekatkan dengan etnis dan keadaan masyarakat pada masing-masing cerpen. Tataran techno-economic menunjukkan penggambaran ekonomi para tokoh dipengaruhi latar waktu dan tempat pada masing-masing cerpen sehingga mempengaruhi sikap tokoh dalam menjalankan kehidupan. Tataran sosiologis menunjukkan hubungan masyarakat pada masing-masing cerpen yang digambarkan memiliki solidaritas tinggi dalam masyarakatnya. Tataran kosmologis menunjukkan ritual kepercayaan masyarakat yang dilekatkan sebagai ciri khas masyarakat suatu daerah pada masing-masing cerpen. Sehingga berdasarkan analisis tersebut ditemukan relasi budaya antar etnis pada mata pencaharian dan hubungan masyarakat yang terjalin dalam antologi cerpen Bertarung dalam Sarung dan Kisah-Kisah Lainnya Karya Alfian Dippahatang. Abstract This study aims to describe the form of coercion (threats) and forms of consensus (agreement) contained in the analyzed novel. This research is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study indicate that first, Coercive is a position where ruling party member threat to the party who mastered to achieve goals which is desired. Coercive form (threat) to the character Zaliman (Bagus) who applies a lot policies that are deemed unreasonable. The policy contains prohibitions and rules involving people's private lives and supported by strict supervision in its application, prohibitions such as the use of the vowel E in both pronunciation and writing. Second, convention is a agreement or agreement achieved through and mutual understanding for achieve what you want. The form of the convention (agreement) can be seen in the form of decision making by Zaliman (Bagus) and his cronies who dominate the minds of the people to agree to all the rules that have been set, such as the establishment of the basic constitution of Wiranacita.Keywords: Hegemony, Coercive, Consensus

Abstract.This The Use of Metaphors in the Anthology of Mantera Cinta Poems by Rusdin Tompo (Stylistic Studies). This study aims to describe the form and meaning of the metaphors contained in the anthology of the analyzed poetry. This research is descriptive qualitative. The data used are words or groups of words that are shown as metaphors in the anthology of the poem Mantera Cinta by Rusdin Tompo. The data source used is the Anthology of Mantera Cinta Poetry by Rusdin Tompo. The approach used is Stylistics. The results of this study indicate that there are 3 out of 6 forms of using metaphors according to Enkvist, namely packages that wrap the core of pre-existing thoughts, choices between various existing statements, and deviations from norms and rules. The meaning contained in each poem was analyzed according to a keraf view. Based on this, it was found that the meaning of the use of metaphors in the poetry contained in Rusdin Tompo's anthology is an indirect meaning, then the dominant meaning of poetry is more directed to a man's love for his lover.Keywords: Metaphor, Stylistics, and Poetry

Abstract: This study aims to describe the value of local wisdom pappaseng to riolo Bugis in the book Local Cultural Wisdom by Kaimuddin Mabbaco using three stages, namely, understanding symbols, giving symbol meanings, and thinking symbols. This research is qualitative, the source of this research data is in the form of text from pappaseng to riolo Bugis from the book Local Cultural Wisdom by Kaimuddin Mabaco. The abbreviation used in this pnelitian is Paul Ricoeur's Hermeneutics, the results of the study show the existence of meaning interpretation using the 3 stages of Paul Ricoeur's Hermeneutics method, namely the understanding of symbols, the giving of symbol meanings, and symbol thinking each interpretation is an attempt to dismantle the veiled meanings in the value of pappaseng wisdom is the result of the meaning of the pappaseng text to find out what local wisdom values are contained in the pappaseng to riolo Bugis text in the book of local cultural wisdom by Kaimuddin Mabbaco Keywords: Hermeneutics, the value of local wisdom, pappaseng.

Abstract.Causes of Siri' Cultural Shift in Mutmainnah Syam's Novel Anak Dara Mulampekke: Anthropology of William A. Haviland. This study aims to describe the causes of the shift in siri' culture in the novel Anak Dara Mulampekke by Mutmainnah Syam seen from the anthropological study of William A. Haviland. This research is descriptive qualitative. The research data are in the form of words, phrases, sentences and paragraphs which indicate that there is a cause for the shift in siri' culture in Mutmainnah Syam's novel Anak Dara Mulampekke. The results of this study are the causes of the shift in siri' culture which shows three descriptions, namely, the influence of foreign culture, the influence of the surrounding environment and flexibility.Keywords: Literary Anthropology, Cultural Shift, Siri'

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan nilai edukasi dalam “I La Galigo” ditulis R.A. Kern, seri terjemahan KITLV-LIPI sebagai cerita Bugis kuno oleh La Side dan Sagimun M.D. tahun 1989. Penelitian kualitatif tersebut, berupaya memahami isi ceritra yang berepisode dalam”I La Galigo” dengan mengklasifikasi nilai edukasi yang terdapat di dalam ceritra tersebut. Nilai edukasi yang ditemukan dalam buku I La Galigo, meliputi nilai religius, jujur, toleransi, disiplin, kerja keras, kreatif, mandiri, demokratis, rasa ingin tahu, semangat kebangsaan, cinta tanah air, bersahabat/komunikatif, cinta damai, peduli lingkungan, peduli sosial, tanggung jawab. Paling banyak muncul dalam cerpen I La Galigo tersebut, nilai cinta damai. Kata Kunci: Nilai Edukasi, I LaGaligo, Cerpen

Abstract. This qualitative research with descriptive explanation aims to describe the forms of attitude in the speech spoken by Indonesian Literature students class 2020 in attending online lectures during the COVID-19 pandemic and the factors that cause the problems of online lectures. The results of this study indicate that first, the attitudes in speech expressed by Indonesian Literature students class 2020 who attend online lectures are dominated by negative affect, Judgment aspect in this research is dominated by personal judgment rather than moral, and the factors that cause online lectures are divided into internal and external factors. Abstract.This research is an approach to the text in the novel Rain in June using Julia Kristeva's intertextual theory. The purpose of this study is to describe the opposition in the novel, which leads to traditional opposition and belief opposition. Opposition according to Julia is something that cannot be exchanged and absolutely between two competitive groups, never harmonious, never complementary, and never able to be reconciled. Through the novel Hujan Bulan Juni, Sapardi Djoko Damono, the author examines and describes how a sense of ethnic ownership can create unfriendliness between other tribes, which can be observed through the traditional opposition in the study of this novel. The results of this study are as follows: the opposition between the traditions of the Menado and Javanese tribes makes us aware that each tribe has its own uniqueness and strengths; the things that distinguish us do not necessarily become divisions within a country. The opposition to belief in this novel shows that religious people still often discriminate against each other. Basically, religion makes us as human beings who are guided by and have empathy for fellow human beings, not the other way around. The characters in this novel often question a person's religion when it is felt that he is not in line with his beliefs. The oppositions in this novel are still numerous and often occur in real life.Keywords: Opposition, Culture, Belief
