Abstract

Abstract: Parental Involvement of Children with Special Needs: Insights from Epstein’s Six Domains Framework. Objectives: This study investigated the role of parents of children with disabilities in inclusive school settings. Methods: Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through focus group discussions (FGD) to 17 parents for children with special needs and analyzed using ATLAS.ti software, following an interactive analysis model comprising data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification.  Findings: Findings highlight the critical role parents play across six domains of involvement, as defined by Epstein's framework: creating supportive home environments (Parenting), engaging in clear communication with the school (Communicating), volunteering at the school (Volunteering), supporting learning at home (Learning at Home), participating in school-related decision-making (Decision-Making), and collaborating with the community to coordinate resources (Collaborating with the Community). These areas of involvement enable parents to actively contribute to inclusion in educational settings.  Conclusion: This study underscores the importance of comprehensive parental engagement of children with disabilities within inclusive schools. Keywords: role of parents, disabilities, inclusive schools.

Abstract

The integration of technology into education continues to evolve, with Android-based game media offering new opportunities for more engaging learning experiences. However, there is still a lack of research that specifically focuses on developing Android-based game media to improve Arabic grammar skills at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level. This study aims to develop Android-based game media to enhance students’ Arabic grammar skills in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Utilizing a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the Alessi & Trollip development model, the research involved media experts, subject matter experts, practitioners, and 40 students. Data were collected through observation and questionnaires, then analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative methods. During alpha testing, the media received an average feasibility score of 91.17% from experts and practitioners, categorized as "very strong." In the beta testing phase, 40 students participated, and the media achieved an average score of 88.00%, also rated as "very strong." These results indicate that the Android-based game media is highly feasible and effective for supporting Arabic grammar instruction. The study concludes that this media can serve as a valuable supplementary tool to improve grammar proficiency and increase student engagement in Arabic language learning at the elementary level.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Total Quality Management (TQM) assessment model and comprehensively examine the implementation of TQM in Special Schools. The primary focus lies in addressing the needs of school principals and teachers, facilitating the enhancement of teacher performance through the model, and evaluating its predictive validity. The research method in this developmental study employed research procedures adapted from Borg and Gall and was organized into four stages. The preliminary study stage comprised library research and field surveys. The model development stage involved validating the model by experts and practitioners. Using a correlation test, the predictive validity stage examined the relationship between total quality management and teacher performance. This study concludes that the implementation of TQM falls within the medium category. There exists a significant 90% need among school principals and teachers in special schools for assessments related to total quality management, indicating its essential nature. The validation by experts demonstrates consistently high results across all categorization aspects. Similarly, the validation by practitioners also yields noteworthy outcomes within each categorization aspect. The correlation between total quality management and teacher performance has been established. In light of these findings, it can be confidently asserted that the developed learning model is suitable for practical application

Abstract

E-books are effective and responsive learning media to the demands of trainees in obtaining accurate, structured and easily accessible information about complementary foods. This study aims to identify needs in the context of developing a digital media product in e-book format. This research meth-od is a qualitative descriptive method. The research subjects consisted of trainers or training instructors. The data collection techniques consisted of in-terviews and observations followed by the instruments, namely interview sheets and observation sheets. Data analysis techniques used descriptive by providing an overview of research findings. The results of this research indi-cate that during the training activities, no media or materials were provided for the trainees to study independently other than posters containing a sum-mary of the material, so they tended to have difficulty understanding materi-al about making complementary foods. Even though the residents were very enthusiastic about participating in the training activities. Therefore, an inno- vation is needed in providing knowledge to training participants, one of which can be done by developing an e-book containing training materials that can be accessed at any time by training participants. It is hoped that through this research innovation will emerge that can make it easier for train-ees to better understand material about making complementary foods.
