Abstract

Differential helical gears are critical components in power transmission systems of vehicles, responsible for transmitting torque from the engine to the drive wheels. These components operate under continuous high torque loads and are susceptible to failure due to material fatigue and the presence of initial cracks. This study aims to predict the initial crack location and evaluate the potential failure of a differential helical gear subjected to a 175 Nm torque using the Finite Element Method (FEM). The gear was modeled with actual dimensions and simulated using ANSYS software under two conditions: without cracks and with an initial crack. The simulation results show that the maximum shear stress without a crack is 45.82 MPa, while with an initial crack, it increases to 66.14 MPa, exceeding the allowable shear stress of ASTM A36 material at 45.45 MPa. This significant increase in stress due to the crack indicates a high risk of structural failure. Therefore, finite element analysis proves to be an effective tool for early crack detection and stress distribution evaluation, which is essential for improving the reliability of gear design and material selection.

Abstract

Industry 4.0 is supported by nine foundational pillars, including Big Data and Analytics, Autonomous Robots, Simulation, Horizontal and Vertical System Integration, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Augmented Reality, Cloud Computing, Additive Manufacturing, and Cybersecurity. This study focuses on horizontal and vertical system integration, which enables seamless information flow across departments, suppliers, and customers through smart systems and IoT devices. One important tool in supporting industrial integration is Computer Aided Design (CAD), which plays a key role in product design and the generation of blueprints that bridge design and manufacturing functions. Most widely used CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, and CATIA are commercial and come with high licensing costs. At Samudra University, Autodesk Inventor Student Version was previously utilized for educational purposes; however, due to its feature limitations and temporary license, an alternative was sought. In collaboration with the Mechanical Engineering Department, FreeCAD was explored as an Open Source solution. This research aims to identify a free and open-source CAD software that offers features comparable to commercial CAD tools and can be further developed without licensing constraints. The methodology involves collecting various Open Source CAD applications, establishing evaluation criteria, testing core functionalities, and selecting the most suitable application to support academic and industrial design needs.

Abstract

Aceh Province is experiencing rapid changes in infrastructure along with population growth and globalization and urbanization. This development and growth has led to a significant increase in the construction of high-rise buildings in urban areas. In multi-storey buildings, the use of materials that have a low albedo against solar radiation, so that a lot of radiation is absorbed and stored in the form of heat in the building so that it can increase the temperature of the building up to 12 °C. The absence of heat absorbers such as green plants around the building affects the thermal comfort of building occupants. Thermal comfort can be measured using various parameters, one of which is the Temperature Humidity Index (THI). The use of green plants of the type of Sansevieria Ttrifasciata which is used as a building envelope for 7 days on the 2nd floor of the Samudra University Laboratory building to measure the temperature difference after being absorbed first by the (Sansevieria Ttrifasciata) in the photosynthesis process. The results show that the THI thermal comfort index is reached at 25°C to 26°C with the conditions shown based on the ASHRAE 55 standard is thermally comfortable.

Abstract

Korosi dapat menyebabkan kegagalan dini pada bangunan infrastruktur, termasuk pada lingkungan sekitaran masyarakat,  korosi dapat menyebabkan kerugian besar jika korosi tidak ditangani lebih awal. Korosi dapat dikendalikan dengan proteksi kathodik anoda korban, namun metode tersebut lebih cocok digunakan pada industry karena pengeluaran untuk perawatan cukup mahal. Selain dengan metode anoda korban, korosi juga dapat dikendalikan menggunakan inhibitor. inhibitor ialah senyawa yang apabila ditambahkan dalam jumlah kecil pada suatu sistem korosi bisa mengurangi laju korosi pada konsentrasi tertentu. Sangat banyak inhibitor alami yang dapat diperoleh dari tanaman sekitar untuk menghemat biaya proteksi. Salah satu bahan alami yang dapat menjadi inhibitor korosi adalah belimbing wuluh. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini terdiri dari tujuan umum dan khusus, tujuan umum dari pengabdian ini yaitu untuk memberikan penyuluhan kepada masyarakat bagaimana cara membuat ekstrak daun belimbing wuluh sebagai inhibitor korosi, berhubung permasalahan kelompok tani ingin maju yaitu kontruksi pertanian yang terbuat dari besi seperti pagar mudah berkarat. Tujuan khusus dari pengabdian ini untuk menganalisa efisiensi ekstrak daun belimbing wuluh sebagai inhibitor penghambat korosi. Kegiatan pengabdian dimulai dengan melakukan survey, membuat larutan inhibitor, melakukan pengujian terhadap larutan inhibitor, dan memberikan penyuluhan kepada kelompok tani ingin maju, Dusun Persatuan Gp. Abstract

Pengeringan terasi merupakan salah satu langkah penting dalam produksi terasi, produk olahan tradisional yang menjadi mata pencaharian utama bagi masyarakat Kampung Baroh, Langsa. Namun, metode pengeringan tradisional yang digunakan oleh masyarakat seringkali tidak efisien, memakan waktu lama, dan kurang higienis. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan alat pengering terasi yang sederhana, efisien, dan mudah digunakan oleh masyarakat Kampung Baroh dengan tujuan meningkatkan kualitas produksi dan pemberdayaan ekonomi lokal. Baroh Langsa Lama, Kec Langsa Lama, Kota Langsa. Metode pengembangan alat pengering terasi melibatkan partisipasi aktif masyarakat setempat. Tim pengabdian bekerja sama dengan masyarakat Kampung Baroh dalam merancang, menguji, dan memperbaiki prototipe alat pengering terasi. Alat ini didesain agar sesuai dengan kondisi lingkungan dan budaya setempat, serta memenuhi standar keamanan pangan dan sanitasi. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan alat pengering terasi yang dikembangkan telah menghasilkan terasi dengan kualitas yang baik dalam hal tekstur, rasa, dan kebersihan. Selain itu, alat ini juga mempercepat proses pengeringan yang sebelumnya memakan waktu berhari-hari menjadi hanya dalam waktu 8 jam saja. Dampak positif keberadaan alat adalah peningkatan produktifitas masyarakat Kampung Baroh yang dapat memasok terasi lebih cepat ke pasar lokal dan regional.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyse the factors causing moral degradation of grade VI students at SDN Galang Bulan, with a focus on the influence of the family environment, peers, school environment support, the times and technology, and the lack of character education programs. The method used was a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, participant observation, and focus group discussions. The results showed that family environment factors and peer influence have a significant impact on students' moral behaviour. In addition, support from the school environment and technological developments also contribute to moral degradation. The conclusion of this study emphasises the importance of collaboration between schools, parents and communities in creating an environment that supports the formation of good character in students.

Abstract

The plant with the Latin name Averhoa Bilimbi L or better known as belimbing wuluh is one of the vegetable plants that is widely used as a seasoning for dishes, one of which is sunti acid, which is the result of drying from belimbing wuluh. The star fruit plant also bears fruit throughout the year. The people of Aceh, especially the people of Gampong Paya Bujok, utilize dried star fruit into sunti acid for cooking spices. Inefficient drying will affect drying, for example weather factors and the length of the drying process caused by sunlight not being obtained for 24 hours. The purpose of this community service is to obtain an efficient drying process and hygiene of the product by utilizing a dryer from a used gas-fueled drum. Abstract

The urban development of Bulukumba Regency exhibits a spatial expansion trend toward peri-urban areas, historically marked by the emergence of new growth poles. This phenomenon reflects ongoing urbanization and generates complex social dynamics through population migration from both rural and urban regions. Migration is driven by the pursuit of economic opportunities, more affordable housing, and lifestyle shifts increasingly oriented toward urban preferences. This study aims to analyze the influence of growth poles on morphological changes and to explore the role of gentrification in shaping socio-economic interaction patterns. A quantitative approach is employed, utilizing spatial analysis, correlation testing, and grounded theory to examine the phenomenon holistically. The findings indicate that both physical and non-physical factors are influenced by fragmented growth patterns, often concentrated around economic potential and high accessibility. The formation of growth poles is seen as a consequence of leapfrogging centrifugal urban expansion, whereby central urban development stimulates the emergence of new development clusters in peri-urban zones. These zones act as transitional spaces offering economic opportunities with lower living costs, making them attractive destinations for urban migrants facing socio-economic pressures in their places of origin. Gentrification is not merely a physical revitalization process but also functions as a socio-economic filtering mechanism that reconstructs cultural identity and values within industrialized spaces. The shift from an agrarian to an urban economy marks a structural transformation shaped by market efficiency, competitiveness, and the rationality of spatial capitalism.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi telah mendorong transformasi digital di berbagai sektor, termasuk administrasi desa. Namun, pemanfaatan teknologi cloud sebagai media penyimpanan dokumen digital belum sepenuhnya diadopsi oleh aparatur desa. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi digital aparatur kantor keuchik di Desa Meurandeh Dayah melalui pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi cloud. Pelatihan dilakukan oleh tim dari Universitas Samudra dengan metode ceramah, demonstrasi langsung, dan praktik mandiri. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta dalam menggunakan Google Drive sebagai media penyimpanan digital. Kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap efisiensi kerja dan menjadi langkah awal menuju digitalisasi sistem administrasi desa.

Abstract

Kurangnya pemahaman terhadap teknologi digital di kalangan aparatur desa menjadi salah satu kendala dalam pelaksanaan tugas administrasi dan pelayanan publik di tingkat desa. Menanggapi permasalahan ini, tim pengabdi dari Universitas Samudra melaksanakan kegiatan pelatihan penggunaan kecerdasan buatan (AI) untuk meningkatkan literasi digital aparatur kantor keuchik Desa Meurandeh Dayah. Dalam pelatihan ini, peserta diperkenalkan dengan Deepseek, salah satu AI terbaru yang bersifat gratis dan berbasis open-source, yang mampu membantu dalam pencarian informasi, penyusunan dokumen, hingga pembuatan ide-ide baru. Pelatihan dirancang secara aplikatif dengan metode ceramah interaktif, diskusi, serta praktik langsung, guna membekali peserta dengan keterampilan praktis dalam mengoperasikan teknologi berbasis AI. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman dan kemampuan peserta dalam memanfaatkan teknologi digital secara produktif. Diharapkan, pelatihan ini menjadi titik awal transformasi digital di lingkungan pemerintahan desa dan mendorong terciptanya tata kelola yang lebih efisien dan adaptif.
