Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between the intensity of watching YouTube and language development in early childhood (ages 2-5 years). The research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design and utilized purposive sampling techniques. The study focused on kindergartens in Pringgowirawan Village, which has 5 schools and 190 students. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. To analyze the data, the product-moment correlation formula was applied using SPSS.The analysis revealed a significant relationship between the intensity of watching YouTube and language development in early childhood in Pringgowirawan Village, Jember Regency. This was indicated by the SPSS calculation, where the Sig. (2-tailed) value between the intensity of watching YouTube (X) and children's language development (Y) was 0.000 < 0.05, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (Ho) and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha). This signifies a significant correlation between the intensity of watching YouTube and children's language development. Since the Pearson correlation coefficient (r) was negative, it indicates that as the intensity of watching YouTube increases, children's language development tends to decrease

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of 3M games (throwing, catching, and kicking the ball) on the development of kinesthetic intelligence in children aged 5-6 years at RA Senyum Muslim, Bekasi Regency. This type of research focuses on the 3M game (throwing, catching, and kicking the ball) to develop kinesthetic intelligence in children aged 4-6 years at RA Senyum Muslim, Bekasi Regency, using a pre-experimental research method with a Pretest-Posttest design. The population in this study consisted of all children aged 4-6 years at RA Senyum Muslim, Bekasi Regency, totaling 30 students. The sampling technique used in this study was total sampling, meaning all children aged 4-6 years at RA Senyum Muslim, Bekasi Regency, totaling 30 students, were included in the sample. A hypothesis test was then conducted using a paired sample t-test, calculating the magnitude of the effect, and investigating whether the 3M game (throwing, catching, and kicking the ball) had an effect on the kinesthetic intelligence of children aged 4-6 years. The study results explained that the Pre-Test score showed an average kinesthetic intelligence of children (Mean) of 11.20. As for the Post-Test score, the average value of the children's kinesthetic intelligence was 23.97. Since the average value of children's kinesthetic intelligence in the Pre-Test was 11.20, which is lower than the Post-Test score of 23.97, it indicates that descriptively, there is a difference in the average kinesthetic intelligence of children aged 4-6 years. The hypothesis test revealed that the Sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.000 < 0.05, thus rejecting H0 and accepting Ha. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the average kinesthetic intelligence of children aged 4-6 years between the Pre-Test and Post-Test at RA Senyum Muslim, Bekasi Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of verbal abuse and parental interpersonal communication on the self-confidence of children aged 4-5 years in Legonkulon Sub-district, Subang. Verbal abuse is identified as the use of harsh, insulting, or demeaning words by parents, while good interpersonal communication includes openness, empathy, and mutual respect. This study used a quantitative approach with survey method and multiple linear regression analysis to analyze data from 96 children. The findings showed that verbal abuse and interpersonal communication together significantly affected children's self-confidence, with verbal abuse explaining 77.7% of the variance in children's self-confidence. This study provides recommendations for appropriate interventions, such as effective communication training for parents and educational programs to raise awareness about the importance of positive communication. Thus, this study contributes to a better understanding of the factors that influence children's self-confidence and develops more effective intervention strategies. The results showed that there is an effect of verbal abuse and interpersonal communication simultaneously on children's self-confidence. The R value of 94% indicates a very strong relationship between the two independent variables (verbal abuse and interpersonal communication) with the dependent variable (children's self-confidence). The F value of 625.457 with a test significance of 0.000 indicates that the regression model used is significant and can be used to predict the effect of verbal abuse and interpersonal communication on children's self-confidence.

Abstract

The proliferation of misinformation in digital environments poses a critical challenge for university students, necessitating integrative competency frameworks beyond isolated cognitive skills. This study examined the mediating role of digital citizenship literacy in the relationship between critical thinking, media awareness, and resistance to misinformation among undergraduate students at UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative cross-sectional survey design with purposive sampling, data were collected from 300 students across the Tadris IPS and Arabic Language Education programs using a validated five-point Likert-scale instrument. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS 4.0. Results demonstrated that critical thinking and media awareness significantly predicted both digital citizenship literacy and resistance to misinformation. Digital citizenship literacy emerged as the strongest direct predictor of misinformation resistance (β = 0.389, p < 0.001) and significantly partially mediated the effects of critical thinking (β = 0.133) and media awareness (β = 0.116) on misinformation resistance. The full model explained 54.1% of variance in misinformation resistance. These findings suggest that cultivating digital citizenship norms constitutes the most proximal mechanism through which cognitive and media competencies translate into behavioral resistance to false information. Implications for curriculum development, pedagogical practice, and higher education policy are discussed.
