Abstract

Background: Stunting is a nutritional problem caused by insufficient food intake for a long time. Routine exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months and followed by the provision of nutritious weaning foods is one of the efforts to prevent stunting. Purpose: community service activities are to provide knowledge about the risk factors and causes of stunting, provide knowledge about the potential of tempeh as a potential food to prevent stunting, provide knowledge and skills on how to make weaning food. Method: this activity is a collaboration between TJSL PT KILANG PERTAMINA INTERNATIONAL RU III and the Faculty of Public Health, Sriwijaya University. Participants consisted of cadres and mothers of toddlers at Melati Deswita Plaju integrated health care. The activities carried out were counseling on preventing stunting, counseling on potential food tempeh preventing stunting, story telling, let's eat tempeh. Result: as many as 85% of respondents have good knowledge after being given counseling related to stunting. Conclusion: there is an increase in knowledge where the percentage of respondents who have a good category increases after the extension activities are carried out.   Keywords: stunting, tempeh, toddlers, weaning foods, integrated health care

Abstract

Background: Remaja perempuan membutuhkan lebih banyak zat besi daripada remaja laki-laki karena mereka perlu menggantikan zat besi yang hilang selama menstruasi. Pengabdian Masyarakat dengan Peningkatan Pemahaman Gizi Seimbang sebagai upaya pencegahan anemia pada Remaja melalui Buku Saku dan Video di MAN Insan Cendikia OKI (MAN IC OKI). Metode: Mitra pengabdian ini adalah 35 siswi pengurus asrama MAN IC OKI. Evaluasi awal dilakukan dalam bentuk pemberian pretest dan posttest dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pengetahuan, sikap dan partisipasi peserta pada kegiatan edukasi dan penyuluhan. Evaluasi Lanjutan Evaluasi lanjutan dilakukan dalam bentuk pembentukan Duta Gizi di sekolah untuk menyuarakan Gizi seimbang untuk pencegahan masalah gizi anemia pada remaja. Selain itu juga evaluasi lanjutan dilakukan pada serta pendistribusian buku saku dan video ke peserta dan ke UKS sekolah. Hasil: Terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan, serta banyaknya pertanyaan yang mereka ajukan ketika berdiskusi dan keterlibatan mereka di kegiatan pemilihan Duta Gizi yang kelak akan menjadi agen perubahan di sekolah tersebut. Kesimpulan: Terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan siswi setelah diberikan penyuluhan dan edukasi melalui buku saku dan video.

Abstract

Background: Nutritional anemia is a condition where the hemoglobin level in the blood is below normal. Anemia education is very important because there are still many young women who do not know about anemia. This activity aims to increase knowledge about balanced nutrition and anemia among young women in Menanti Village. Methods: This activity is in collaboration with the Head of Menanti Village, Kec. Kelekar Muara Enim Regency with a total of 36 participants, using lecture and discussion methods. The activities carried out are measuring knowledge and providing education using the lecture method. Results: Nutrition and anemia education activities in Menanti Village, Kelekar District, Muara Enim Regency were carried out on Tuesday 11 June 2024 for 36 young women. Conclusion: Community service activities by lecturers at the FKM Nutrition Study Program at Sriwijaya University in the form of nutritional education regarding anemia in young women using leaflets as a medium increase female students' knowledge regarding anemia. Knowledge about applying the principles of balanced nutrition is one of the efforts to prevent anemia from an early age in adolescents.
