Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing use of social media among students at Universitas Dinamika Bangsa, which is suspected to influence their consumerist lifestyle. The purpose of this research is to examine the impact of social media on students’ purchasing habits. A quantitative approach with a survey method was employed. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 92 enrolled students. The independent variable in this study is the intensity of social media use, while the dependent variable is the level of student consumerism. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression. The findings indicate that the intensity of social media use has a significant effect on students’ consumerism levels. The higher the intensity of social media use, the greater the tendency for students to purchase non-essential goods. These results highlight the need for enhancing students’ digital literacy skills to enable them to respond more critically to social media content, particularly promotional materials. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on the relationship between social media and consumerism among university students—a segment of the young generation that is particularly susceptible to the influence of a consumerist lifestyle.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of financial literacy, financial technology (FinTech), and demographic moderation on the financial behavior of the Millennial generation in Indonesia. Employing a descriptive quantitative approach and the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method based on Partial Least Squares (PLS), data were collected from 97 respondents using a structured questionnaire. The analysis results reveal that financial literacy (X1), FinTech (X2), and demographic moderation (Z) have a significant impact on financial behavior (Y). Financial literacy directly enhances individuals’ ability to manage finances, invest, and plan for their financial future, with a P-value of 0.004. FinTech also promotes more efficient financial behavior, with a P-value of 0.009. Furthermore, demographic moderation significantly moderates the relationship between financial literacy and FinTech with financial behavior, with P-values of 0.002 and 0.035, respectively. These findings highlight the importance of incorporating demographic perspectives in understanding Millennials’ financial behavior. The research model demonstrates strong predictive capability, with an R-Square value of 0.766, indicating that 76.6% of the variance in financial behavior is explained by the independent variables. The constructs’ reliability and validity were well established, as evidenced by Cronbach’s Alpha and Composite Reliability values above 0.7, as well as an Average Variance Extracted (AVE) exceeding 0.5. Theoretically, this study contributes to the understanding of the relationship between financial literacy, FinTech, and demographic factors in shaping financial behavior. Practically, the findings suggest that FinTech service providers should design more inclusive strategies and implement effective financial education programs for Millennials. A comprehensive approach that considers demographic and technological factors is essential for enhancing financial literacy and behavior more effectively.

Abstract

In the digital era, financial technology has become an essential part of everyday life, particularly for students who are highly adaptive to innovations such as electronic wallets. This study aims to analyze the effect of perceived usefulness (PU) on the use of the DANA e-wallet among students of Universitas Dinamika Bangsa (UNAMA), with perceived ease of use (PEOU) as a mediating variable. The research employed a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires and analyzing the data using SmartPLS. The findings reveal that PU significantly influences both PEOU and actual use (AU). However, PEOU does not have a significant effect on AU, and PU through PEOU also does not significantly influence AU. These results indicate that although perceived usefulness is the primary factor driving e-wallet adoption, perceived ease of use does not act as a strong mediating variable. This study recommends that e-wallet providers focus on enhancing useful features and offering user education to improve the experience and adoption of financial technology among students.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the impact of compensation and work environment on employee performance at PT. Jambi Mandiri Sentosa, while assessing job satisfaction as a mediating variable, a study prompted by the company's fluctuating sales and downward performance trends. Using a quantitative approach and a census sampling strategy involving all 60 employees, data were analyzed through the PLS-SEM method using SmartPLS software. The findings reveal that while compensation and work environment have a positive and significant direct effect on both employee performance and job satisfaction, job satisfaction itself does not have a statistically significant impact on employee performance (P-Value 0.174 > 0.05). Consequently, the mediation analysis demonstrates that job satisfaction does not act as an intermediary between the independent variables and performance. It is concluded that the influence of compensation and work environment on productivity is primarily direct; therefore, management is advised to prioritize optimizing the work environment and fair compensation systems to ensure sales stability and operational efficiency, rather than relying on job satisfaction as a primary driver of performance.
