Abstract

Abstrak Masing-masing surat kabar memiliki kebijakan politis tersendiri, termasuk kebijakan editorial sebagai kerangka pikir media. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengkategorisasian isu dan strategi wacana atas teks terhadap kecenderungan redaksional editorial Harian Media Indonesia terhadap sebuah isu/peristiwa. Tipe penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif dan deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kritis. Sumber data berupa dokumentasi teks editorial edisi 2 Januari 2012 sampai 30 Juni 2012. Dari keseluruhan editorial dilakukan analisis isi kuantitatif dengan melibatkan dua orang coder untuk pengkategorisasian editorial. Data berupa hasil kategorisasi dianalisis dengan menggunakan Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) model Teun A. Van Dijk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Isu politik menjadi preferensi Media Indonesia dalam sajian editorialnya yaitu 86 editorial dengan persentasi tertinggi 71,07%. Kecenderungan redaksional editorial Harian Media Indonesia yang kritis, pro rakyat dan tidak segan-segan memperlihatkan sikap anti pemerintah telah menjalankan hegemoninya berdasarkan ideologi yang dianut. Namun pada isu tertentu menyatakan sikap mendukung kebijakan pemerintah dengan indikasi kepentingan politik media bersangkutan. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa sikap resisten terhadap pemerintah bukanlah ukuran valid guna menilai bahwa sebuah media komersial yang menjalankan politik ekonomi media telah berjuang bagi kepentingan masyarakat luas.ABSTRACTEach newspaper has its own political policies, including editorial policies as a media framework. This research aims to know the categorizing of the issues and discourse strategies over the text toward the redaction tendency of Harian Media Indonesia editorial toward issue/events. The types of the research are quantitative and qualitative descriptive using critical approach. Data sources are documentation of editorial texts since January 2, 2012 until June 30, 2012. All editorial texts are analyzed using quantitative content analysis by involving two coders for categorizing those editorial texts. Data got from editorial categorization will then be analyzed by using Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) model by Teun A. Van Dijk. The results showed that political issues become the preference of the Media Indonesia in its editorial i.e. 86 editorials of which percentage is the highest as much as 71,07%. The redaction tendency of Harian Media Indonesia editorial which is critical, pro people and not hesitate showing its stance that anti Government has been running its hegemony based on ideological beliefs. However, on specific issues it stated its stance in supporting the government policies with an indication of the political importance of the media itself. So it can be inferred that the resistant stance toward government is not the valid standard in order to assess that a commercial media running the political economy of the media has been fighting for the interests of the wider community.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1) untuk mengetahui fungsi KKSS sebagai forum komunikasi dalam penyelesaian konflik etnis di kota Palu, 2) faktor-faktor yang mendukung dan menghambat KKSS sebagai forum komunikasi dalam penyelesaian konfli etnis di kota Palu.Pengumpulan data digunakan metode wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi dan diskusi kelompok berfokus. Selanjutnya data yang didapat dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam penyelesaian konflik antara Bugis dan Kaili di kota Palu, KKSS cabang kota Palu menggunakan komunikasi kelompok dan komunikasi antarpribadi. Selain itu peran tokoh masyarakat dalam penyelesaian konflik Bugis dan Kaili juga sangat berpengaruh. Hambatan yang dihadapi KKSS cabang kota Palu dapat diatasi dengan terjalinnya komunikasi yang baik antara pengurus, pemerintah dan tokoh masyarakat Bugis maupun tokoh masyarakat Kaili. Abstract This study aims to: 1) understanding the function of KKSS as a forum for communication in the resolution of ethnic conflicts of Bugis and Kaili in Palu city, 2) understanding the factors that support and inhibit KKSS as a forum of communication in the resolution of ethnic conflicts of Bugis and Kaili in Palu city.Data collection used interviews, observation, documentation and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The data was analysed using descriptive qualitative analysis techniques.The result showed that in the resolution of the conflict between Bugis and Kaili in Palu, KKSS Palu used group communication and interpersonal commnunication. In addition, the role of community leaders in resolving the conflict of Bugis-Kaili is also very influential. Barriers that is faced by the KKSS of Palu can be overcome by good communications between KKSS committee, local government and community leaders of Bugis and Kaili.

Abstract

AbstractThe aim of study id to analyze the understanding, attitude, implementation and the implementationefforts of Journalistic Ethics Code as self-censorship by journalisist in the Post-Orde Baru inMakassar. The study is carried out to several journalistis of printed media in Makassar. This is aqualitative research utilizing library and field surveys. The data were collected through observation,deep interviews and documen inspections. The inform ants were determined by snowball samplingtechnique. The data were analyzed using Miles and Hubermans Interactive Model. The result of thestudy indicate that majority of journalistis in the post-Orde Baru in Makassar have a wellunderstanding about some principles like fairness, accuracy, and objecttivity in the journalisticEthics Code. They have positive view toward the principles and agree about the importance inimplementing it. How ever, in fact the principles are not well implemented yet especially about theaccuracy due to some of obstacles faced by journalist when doing their job. Thus, journalists haveto attempt implementing the Journalistic Ethics Code as self-cencordhip throught some effortsbrought by the media, journalist organisation (PWI and AJI), Press Council, and government. AbstrakPenelitian ini dimaksudka untuk menganalisis tingkat pemahaman, sikap, dan oenerapan sensor diridalam melakukan Kode Etik Jurnalistik di kalangan Wartawan Pasca Orde Baru di Makassar. Studiini dilakukan pada beberapa wartawan media cetak di Makassar. Metode penelitian yakni kualitatifdengan menggunakan kepustakaan dan dokumentasi. Informan ditetapkan dengan cara tekniksnowball sampling. Data dianalisis dengan memakai model interaktif dari miles dan Hubermans.Hasil studi ini mengindikasikan vahwa pada umumnya wartawan pasca orde baru di Makassarmemiliki pemahaman yang baik tentang prinsip-prinsip penulisan jurlanistik, misalnya kejujuran,akurasi, dan objek-tivitas dalam menjalankan Kode Etik Jurnalistik. Mereka pada umumnyamemiliki pandangan yang positif terhadap prinsip-prinsip Kode Etik Jurnalistik dan setuju untukdilaksanakan. Meskipun sejauh ini dalam kenyataannya prinsip-prinsip tersebut belum dilakukansecara penuh karena beberapa faktor penghambat. Karena itu para wartawan berusaha melakukanKode Etik Jurnalistik dalam bentuk sensor diri yang diusahakan oleh media itu sendiri, organisasiwartawan PWI dan Aji dewan Pres, dan Pemerintah.

Abstract

Abstract This research aimed(1) to investigate the opinions of the political party prominent figures toward the sidedness find out the master of political party opinion towards the sidedness of the TV One and Metro TV in 2014 presidential election; (2) To investigate the extent of the roles of the media in forming the opinions of the political party prominent figures toward the sidedness of TV One dan Metro TV; (3) to investigate the sidedness levels of TV One dan Metro TV as the national TVs in 2014 presidential election. The research was descriptive-qualitative in character. The research informants comprised 12 prominent figures of the political parties, 7 culturalists, political observers, and academicians. The samples were chosen using the purposive sampling technique. The data collection was through interviews and observation. Then the data analysis was done using the interaction model analysis developed by Miles and Huberman. The obtained data were processed through 3 qualtative data analysis channels, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results revealed that the opinions of the prominent figures of the political parties toward the sidedness of TV One and Metro TV in 2014 presidential election tended to take side with a certain couple, TV One tended to take side with the Pair of Prabowo-Hatta, while Metro TV tended to take side with the Pair of Jokkowi-JK. Also, the roles of the TV was very strong in forming the opinions of the prominent figures of the political parties in 2014 Presidentia Election as felt by all the informants – either by those joining the Merah Putrih Coalision (KMP) or those joining the Indonesia Hebat Coalision (KIH). The some opinions were also felt by the prominent figures of the political parties in South Sulawesi. This was possible because of the pragmatic factor to “force” the media to adopt the practical political logic for sake of increasing the images of the candidates. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui opini tokoh partai politik terhadap keberpihakan TV One dan Metro TV dalam Pilpres 2014, mengetahui besarnya peranan media dalam membentuk opini tokoh partai politik terhadap keberpihakan TV One dan Metro TV, dan tingkat keberpihakan TV O]]ne dan Metro TV sebagai TV nasional dalam pemilihan presiden 2014. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif. Informan penelitian ini adalah 12 orang tokoh partai politik, 7 orang budayawan, pengamat politik dan Akdemisi. Penyampelan dilakukan secara purposif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dan observasi. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis model interaksi yang dikembangkan oleh Milles dan Huberman, data yang telah didapat kemudian diolah melalui 3 jalur analisis data kualitatif yaitu : Reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa opini Tokoh Partai Politik terhadap keberpihakan TV One dan Metro TV pada Pilpres 2014cenderung berpihak kepada pasangan tertentu. Keberpihakan TV One kepada pasangan Prabowo-hatta dan Metro ke pasangan Jokowi- JK.. Demikianjuga peranan televisi dalam membentuk opini tokoh partai politik terhadap keberpihakan TV One dan Metro TV di Sulsel pada pilpres 2014 sangat besar. Hal ini dirasakan oleh seluruh informan baik yang tergabung dalam Koalisi Merah Putih maupun Koalisi Indonesia Hebat dengan tingkat keberpihakan TV One dan Metro TV pada pilpres 2014 sangat tinggi dirasakan oleh para tokoh partai politik di sulsel.Hal tersebut dimungkingkan karena faktor pragmatisme kepemilikan untuk “memaksa” media mengadopsi logika politik praktis yang untuk peningkatan citra kandidat.

Abstract

Hidup dalam keberagaman membutuhkan komunikasi yang mampu mendukung hubungan antar individu maupun kelompok. Terlepas dari berhasil tidaknya sebuah komunikasi dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor. Artikel ini membahas faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi komunikasi penganut Hindu Towani Tolotang dengan Muslim di Kabupaten Sidrap yang dapat menjadi pedoman atau inspirasi bagi masyarakat yang hidup dalam keberagaman. Metode penelitian adalah kualitatif, menggunakan studi etnografi yang mendeskripsikan makna dan dan wujud unsur-unsur sosio-kultural dalam lingkungan masyarakat multikultural, dengan melakukan observasi dan wawancara secara personality interview dan in depth interview. Tempat penelitian berlokasi di Kecamatan Amparita dan Kecamatan Duapitue, Kabupaten Sidrap, Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan, yang juga menjadi tempat tinggal komunitas penganut Hindu Towani Tolotang.  Informan penelitian dipilih melalui purposive sampling dengan memilih tokoh agama, tokoh masyarakat dan pemerintah setempat yang beragama Hindu Towani Tolotang dan Islam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor pendukung komunikasi tersebut masih berkaitan dengan prinsip-prinsip masyarakat suku Bugis yang turun temurun diterapkan dari generasi ke generasi. Seperti Musyawarah (Tudang Sipulung), Kebiasaan “Permisi” (Mappatabe), Saling memanusiakan, saling menghormati atau menghargai dan saling mengingatkan (Sipkatau, Sipakalebbi, Sipakainge) dan Nasihat (Pappaseng). Sedangkan faktor penghambat komunikasi berkaitan dengan minimnya tenaga pendidik yang mengajarkan agama lokal karena dengan pendidikan formal memberikan dampak kepada pengetahuan berkomunikasi, beretika dan berprilaku. Serta tidak adanya program pemerintah khusus keagamaan yang terorganisir, masyarakat akan mengalami kurangnya pemahaman tentang nilai-nilai agama, etika, dan toleransi antaragama

Abstract

Finding love in the digital age can be seen easier than ever. With a simple app, an individual and millions of others can come together and meet from everywhere. The researchers aim to analyze the relationship development in online dating matches through multiple interpersonal communication perspectives. It includes how an individual chooses their potential partner, their initial involvement, self-disclosure, and whether they decide to continue a serious relationship. The research methodology used is qualitative method with in depth interview, using Devito’s Relationship Stages as the theoretical framework. The result shows that compared to traditional dating, online dating couples took extra security precautions in early contact. It is also found that the strength of social bonding, especially with close friends and family members, significantly influences the relationship. There are three main stages of relationships that are experienced in this research; (1) Contact, in line with the Uncertainty Reduction Theory and Communication Privacy Management, (2) Involvement that corresponds with the Social Exchange Theory, and (3) Intimacy, that aligns with Social Penetration Theory.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus dan tujuannya untuk menganalisa konstruksi identitas diri kelompok gay Makassar yang memperlihatkan identitas dirinya sebagai gay dalam media sosial instagram. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan studi naratif, data diambil oleh peneliti dilapangan sebagai hasil pengamatan dan wawancara langsung dengan informan kelompok gay yang tinggal di kota makassar, provinsi sulawesi selatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok gay tersebut mengkonstruksi dirinya sebagai seorang gay di instagram untuk mencari pasangan yang berasal dari sejenisnya. Dengan menggunakan berbagai fitur seperti storygram, feed foto, dan diret message. Kelompok tersebut cenderung menampilkan unggahan foto dengan badan yang athletis, menyukai selfie dengan bertelanjang dada, menyukai berfoto selfie dan lebih rileks, penggunaan aksesoris seperti softlens ketika sedang berfoto atau selfie, dan menggunakan outfit up to date serta bermotif

Abstract

The Parepare City Government's policy of positioning the city as an industry without smokestacks, as outlined in the city's vision 2018-2023, the development of the tourism sector as highly urgent. Alongside digital media determinism, there is opportunity to develop a smart city that implements a series of tourism developments through digitalization to increase tourist visits, with a tourism digitalization program through the contributions of Generation Z. Based on research findings, Parepare City Government has encouraged policies for the involvement of Generation Z through various policies, such as programs and budgets to encourage the involvement and competence of Parepare's Generation Z residents. They has a significant contribution to tourism development through the use of information and communication technology, including citizen journalism, social media platforms, and cultural events that converge with digital information, as part of the globalization of Parepare's tourism information based on new media. This aligns with theory proposed by Henry Jenkins that the presence of new media will encourage audiences to collectively take roles, including Generation Z. Hence, Generation Z contributes to the activities on social media platforms for disseminating tourism information about Parepare City. The digital space participation of Parepare's Generation Z acts both as followers and prosumers.

Abstract

This journal discusses the strategy of Radar Bone in implementing media convergence in the editorial process of online media. This research aims to describe Radar Bone's strategy in news coverage, to find out Radar Bone's strategy in today's digital era and to find out the application of media convergence in the online media editorial process.To obtain answers to the three main problems, the author uses field research methods, namely interviews, observations and documentation with a communication science approach and a sociology approach with data presentation carried out descriptively qualitative, which is a research that produces descriptive data (depiction). The subject of this research is Usman Sommeng as Chief Editor and Daily Editor in Charge, the researcher considers that the Chief Editor has the main role regarding policies related to media convergence. Furthermore, the researcher determined Askar Syam and Herman kahar as the Managing Editor and Legal Editor to be the next informant to find out how the strategy is used in today's digital era and the last informant is Adri and Baharuddin as Radar Bone reporters. The research results show that: First, the strategy carried out by Radar Bone in news coverage is through several stages starting from the planning, organizing, moving, and also monitoring stages.

Abstract

The transformation of the digital communication landscape has presented the phenomenon of information disorder that has the potential to construct symbolic violence, especially among Indonesian adolescents as active users of social media. This research aims to analyze how digital communication patterns in the form of information disorder shape and perpetuate symbolic violence, as well as its impact on the communication behavior and social interaction of Indonesian adolescents. Through a narrative literature review approach, this research integrates findings from various academic sources, focusing on the dynamics of digital communication, manifestations of symbolic violence, and interaction patterns on social media. The analysis reveals that information disorder has created new communication patterns that can systematically trigger and perpetuate various forms of symbolic violence in the digital space. The complexity of interactions between digital communication patterns, sociocultural contexts, and the characteristics of social media platforms influences adolescents' vulnerability to this phenomenon. The identified impacts reveal significant changes in adolescents' communication patterns and social interactions, including transformations in how they construct meaning, establish identity, and form social relations in digital spaces. The study also identified that effective communication strategies in impact mitigation should integrate digital literacy with Media and Information Literacy (MIL), supported by participatory communication and community empowerment approaches. The findings make a significant contribution to the development of a more effective communication model in protecting the digital well-being of Indonesian youth.
