Environmental issues on the coast are of concern because of their important existence, but environmental conditions on the coast, especially mangrove forests, are increasingly critical Based on Clark Labs data, the extent of mangrove conversion to ponds from 1999 to 2018. The on going community participation in the mangrove rehabilitation program has its dynamics because it involves many parties. The parties involved include local governments (Forestry Service, UPT Sawitto, and Fisheries Service), farmers, village governments, and communities. During the implementation of the program activities, the main issues encouraging community participation in mangrove rehabilitation such as analysis, strategy, mobilization, action, evaluation, and sustainability are very interesting to be studied further. This research uses qualitative research with a case study approach. The unit of analysis is the mangrove rehabilitation program. Key data were collected through in-depth interviews with key informants. For the data triangulation process, observation of mangrove rehabilitation sites was carried out to complete the research data. Furthermore, the data is analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The result of this study is an evaluation of community participation in the mangrove rehabilitation program in Tanroe Hamlet, Bababinanga Village, while some issues have not been satisfactory such as participation in evaluation and participation in decision-making. Furthermore, developing a communication strategy run by the Pinrang Regency Government is very good for the short term. In the long term, it has not yielded significant results in some areas of the rehabilitation program. This is influenced by several things, including land rehabilitation and empowerment by communicators, extension programs and public campaigns, community participation in planning and decision-making, diverse communication media, formation of working groups and training, monitoring, and feedback. In principle, the practice carried out is good but still at the exploration stage.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of forensic communication with media analysis to understand and address sexual violence. Media authenticity is examined as a crucial factor influencing public perception and judicial processes. Through a detailed examination of how media constructs motives and the application of forensic communication techniques, the research demonstrates the potential of mass media to serve as forensic evidence. The study employs an interpretive paradigm and Ricoeur's Hermeneutics of Suspicion to analyze media texts and police examination minutes. Findings indicate that the construction of motives in media significantly impacts the evidentiary process in sexual harassment cases. This research underscores the importance of accurate media representation and calls for the media to adhere to accuracy, integrity, and social responsibility principles. Further research is suggested to explore the broader social dynamics and collective motives in criminal cases, particularly sexual violence.

Abstract

Stunting remains a critical health issue in Indonesia, with long-term impacts on human capital and economic development. It is caused by chronic malnutrition, resulting in impaired physical and cognitive growth. This study examines the implementation of an integrative communication model for addressing stunting in Bantaeng, South Sulawesi, using a qualitative case study approach. The research aims to explore how communication strategies are applied across sectors to reduce stunting and improve public health outcomes. Data was collected through field observations and interviews with key stakeholders, including government agencies, health workers, and community leaders. Findings indicate that the success of the program relies on structured inter-sectoral coordination, accurate and integrated data, and the active participation of local communities. The study highlights the importance of using local values, such as language and food traditions, to strengthen communication and increase community engagement. The integrative communication model in Bantaeng combines vertical and horizontal communication, ensuring coordinated actions among stakeholders. The ideal model emphasizes cross-sector communication, community participation, accurate data usage, and deliberative communication practices. This research provides insights into the effectiveness of communication in stunting prevention and offers recommendations for enhancing inter-sectoral collaboration and local participation. The model developed in Bantaeng could serve as a reference for similar health communication programs in Indonesia.

Abstract

The limited quality and performance of village officials is one of the sources of problems that arise in the Village Government in managing village funds. The research was conducted with the aim of exploring and describing the communication strategy applied by DPMD as a village monitor and coach in an effort to improve the performance of village officials in Enrekang Regency, especially in the management of village funds. Researchers used a qualitative approach with a case study method. The informants taken were four people who had information and experience related to improving the performance of village officials, namely the head of DPMD, the Head of the Division that handled the performance improvement of village officials and 2 (two) Village Heads. In this study, it is known that the communication strategy applied by DPMD in an effort to improve the performance of village officials, especially in the management of village funds, is through several steps, namely by conducting research, planning, implementing and evaluating communication. The communication strategy implemented is quite good, but not optimal because in determining communicants in the implementation of training and socialization, DPMD has not been able to present or invite all village officials who should participate in the process of managing village funds. This is also due to the limited budget of the Enrekang Regency PMD Office

Abstract

Masculinity is homogeneously defined as a rule or rules in social practice and is represented by the culture depicted in a man. The majority of society demands that a man must be independent, strong, firm, tough, disciplined, think logically, able to be a protector and avoid anything related to women (no sissy stuff). However, along with the development of globalization and the proliferation of Korean wave fever among people around the world, K-Pop idols, especially men, have emerged bringing a new identity from the concept of masculinity called Hybrid Masculinity. This research aims to determine the form of Hybrid Masculinity in the music video Enhypen Sacrifice (Eat Me Up) using John Fiske's semiotic analysis with his theory The Codes of Television. The results of this research show that there are symbols and representations of a new form of male masculinity called Manufactured Versatile Masculinity and the discovery of new emphases in viewing the concept of masculinity itself.

Abstract

The Makassar City Government's Waste Processing for Electrical Energy (PSEL) project has become a topic of discussion and debate in various media outlets, including Tribunmakassar.com and Fajar.co.id. These two media outlets present different perspectives in their coverage of the project. This research employs a qualitative framing analysis approach to examine the pros and cons of the two media's reporting perspectives. The primary data, in the form of several related news articles, were analyzed using Robert N. Entman's framing tools. The results of the research are distributed into the following analysis units: define problem, diagnose causes, treatment recommendation, and make moral judgment. In the Tribunmakassar.com media, the problem is defined as the rejection of residents, which is perceived as potentially detrimental to the interests of the PSEL national strategic project. Fajar.co.id presents PSEL as a solution to environmental problems and residents' land, emphasizing the justice of land payments that have not been paid for 31 years. Tribunmakassar.com's diagnosis of causes highlights the alleged existence of individuals who sought to sabotage the project or bidders who provoked the community to refuse. Fajar.co.id highlights the divergence of opinions between the municipal government and residents regarding the project's location and the potential social and financial implications. Tribunmakassar.com assesses the residents' rejection of the project as a potentially detrimental action to the interests of the PSEL project, which is a national strategic project. Fajar.co.id evaluated PSEL as a potential solution to the environmental and land issues facing residents, with a particular focus on the fairness of land payments that have been outstanding for 31 years. Tribunmakassar.com proposed the necessity for enhanced coordination, the involvement of the KPK, and the preparation of tenders as a means of overcoming differences in opinion and the intricacies of regulations. Fajar.co.id proposed that further study, transparency, and the consideration of alternative approaches could be beneficial in addressing concerns and resolving disagreements.
