Self-efficacy focuses on the component of self-confidence that a person has in doing his tasks including career decision making. To be able to decide the career appropriately, students need confidence in making choices based on their abilities. This study aimed to improve self-efficacy in students’ career decision making through group counseling with symbolic modeling technique. The experimental research method with one group pre-test post-test design was used and involved eight students as group members. After their data were analyzed by using the Wilcoxon test, it showed that group counseling with symbolic modeling technique was effective to improve self-efficacy in students’ career decision making. Further, the discussion of this study is directed at identifying the implication of group counseling with symbolic modeling technique to improve self-efficacy in students’ career decision making.

This study examinedthe effect of achievement goal on homework behavior and achievementemotionas a mediator for high school students in Sukoharjo Regency. Four hundred twenty-fourhigh school students in Sukoharjo Regency by cluster purposive sampling were usedin the study. Mediation analysis was applied to test the effects of achievement emotionmediation on the achievement goal of homework behavior. The results of structural equation modeling show the effects of emotional mediation of pleasure in connecting with concentration and effort. Furthermore, the task approach, task avoidance, and other avoidances directly affect enjoyment; the task approach and other avoidances affect anxiety; the task approach, task avoidance, and enjoymentare influencing business and concentration. The theoretical and practical implications of these findings are discussedin the article.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of group counseling with rational emotive behavior therapy approach to increase self-esteem and reducing online gaming addiction. This study design using non-equivalent control group pre-test – post-test design. Purposive sampling technique is used to select 14 students as research subjects. Each 7 students are placed in the experimental group and a control group so that the two groups had the same initial conditions. MANOVA test results showed that group counseling rational emotive behavior therapy approach is effective in improving self-esteem (F3.10= 24.237; p < 0.01) and reducing online gaming addiction (F3.10=29.756; p < 0.01). Furthermore, the Wilcoxon test results showed that the experimental group an increase in self-esteem (z = -2.371; p < 0.05), and a decrease in online gaming addiction (z = -2.375; P <0.05) were significant. While the control group an increase in self-esteem (z =-.175; p > 0.05) and a decrease in online gaming addiction (z = -1.342; p > 0.05) did not occur significantly. The findings of this study confirms that counseling group with rational emotive behavior therapy approach is effective in improving self-esteem and lower addicted to online games.

The purpose of this research was to identify and analyze the prediction effects of perfectionism on the career decision self-efficacy and career indecision, career decision self-efficacy on the career indecision and the mediating effect of career decision self-efficacy on the relationship between perfectionism and career indecision. The sample involved 369 high school students selected using random cluster sampling. The research method used is a structural equation model. The results showed that self-oriented perfectionism positively predicted career decision self-efficacy while socially prescribed perfectionism negatively predicted career decision self-efficacy, as well as career decision self-efficacy to predict career indecision. Also, career decision self-efficacy has a mediating effect on the relationship of perfectionism with career indecisions. The implications of the findings of this study are discussed in the article.

Respect attitude must grow among students in a classroom or environment. It is aimed at good communication without distinguishing any differences. This study attempted to examine the effectiveness of group guidance using Film Media and Assignment Technique to develop the respect attitude of the students of Senior High School Gemuh Kendal. The method used was experimental with Randomized Pre-test - post-test comparison group design. This involved as many as 21st Grade Students of Natural Science Department of Senior High School Gemuh Kendal as the subject of the study. Further, the analysis results by using One Way ANOVA showed that the group counseling using film media and assignment technique was effective to develop students’ respect attitude (F = 78.141; p < 0.01). At last, the discussion of the findings of this study was directed at looking at the effectiveness of the film media group guidance and assignment technique group guidance.

This research aims to improve the ability of junior high school students' career planning by using interactive multimedia. The experimental research method used the design of one group pre-test and post-test with purposive sampling technique to determine 27 subjects of the Junior High School class IX students. The results of the research were obtained further planning career of class IX students of Public Junior High School 3 Cepu, before using guidance media (pre-test) the mean value was 109.74 with SD 3.84 and an increase in the mean posttest 153.33 with SD 3.12. The results of the t-test show that interactive multimedia is effective to improve the career planning skills of Junior High School students (t(27) = 12.58, p <0.01). This finding confirms that interactive multimedia can be applied to improve Junior High School students? career planning.

This study attempted to improve students? counseling interests by using a Web medium in form of Cyber Counseling. To achieve such purpose, this study employed one group pre-test post-test design. Meanwhile, the instrument used to collect the data was counseling interest scale. The subjects of this study were 6 students chosen by purposive sampling technique. The researchers analyzed their data by using wilcoxon non-parametric analysis. The results showed that web-based Cyber Counseling effectively improved students? counseling interests (Z= -2.226, p < 0.05). This result asserts that Cyber Counseling has an implication toward the optimization of counselors? roles and professionalism in the utilization of Cyber Counseling for the development of Information and Technology resources development.

The present study was aimed at finding out the effectiveness of group guidance with sociodrama for improving student's prosocial behavior. This study employed experimental method with one group pretest Posttest design, involving ten students as the members of the group. The analysis result using Wilcoxon test showed that group guidance with sociodrama technique was effective to improve student?s prosocial behavior. The result of the study showed that group guidance in SMP Negeri Kabupaten Pemalang had been planned within guidance and counseling program. However, its implementation was sub-optimal. The present study also found that group guidance with sociodrama is effective for improving student?s prosocial behavior. The discussion of the result of the study is aimed at identifying the implication of group guidance with sociodrama in improving student?s prosocial behavior.

Studies related to the use of cognitive therapy group and extinction techniques have happened to be ineffective to reduce academic procrastination, so this study aimed at proofing that the use of group counseling with cognitive therapy group and extinction techniques was effective to reduce academic procrastination. To do so, the researchers employed Randomized Pre-test ? Post-test Comparison Group Design. This design was applied to 14 people chosen randomly based on the pre-test results using academic procrastination scale. These people were divided into two groups. Based on the results of Wilcoxon test, it was known that cognitive therapy group technique was effective to reduce academic procrastination (Z = -2.37; p < 0.05). Similarly, extinction technique was also effective to reduce academic procrastination (Z = -2.36; p < 0.05). In details, extinction technique was more effective than cognitive therapy group in reducing academic procrastination (Z = -5.13; p < 0.05). Thus, these findings contribute implications for counselors. First, the counselors are suggested to use cognitive therapy group and extinction techniques to reduce academic procrastination. Second, the counselors should pay more attention on the processes of group counseling during the implementation.

This study aimed at examining and analyzing the implementation of psychoeducational group with role play to improve the interpersonal communication of guidance and counseling students. This study used pretest-posttest comparison group design. Meanwhile, purposive sampling was used to select 18 experimental subjects placed in two groups randomly so that each group consisted of nine students. Their data were collected using interpersonal communication scale. The results of wilcoxon test showed that the implementation of psychoeducational group with role play and symbolic modelling and the combination of both techniques was effective to improve students? interpersonal communication. Further, the implication of the study findings are discussed in the discussion chapter.
