Abstract

Background: Muscle strength is a force released by a muscle or group of muscles used to perform an activity. Everyone has different daily activities and activities so that not everyone has the same muscle strength. It is very common for pre-elderly to experience decreased muscle mass and muscle strength, decreased muscle volume with age and replaced by fat tissue and connective tissue. Purpose: This study was to measure the strength of the superior extremity flexor muscles in male pre-elderly and male students. The tool used was a handgrip dynamometer. Method: This study used an observational design with a cross-sectional approach with a research sample of 30 people divided into two groups of 15 male pre-elderly and 15 male students who had muscle strength measurements then the data was applied to SPPS 29. Results: The results of the strength of the superior extremity flexor muscles in male pre-elderly were 27.82 kilogram and in male students were 28.00 kilogram. Conclusion: The strength of the superior extremity flexor muscles in male students was proven to be stronger than that of male pre-elderly

Abstract

Background: The chronic disease service program is designed for all BPJS Kesehatan members who suffer from chronic diseases including type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension. Hypertension is diagnosed when a person has systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 mm Hg and/or diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mm Hg. Cholesterol, uric acid and blood sugar are triggers for non-communicable diseases, one of which is hypertension. Based on the background above, researchers are interested in conducting a study that aims to determine the relationship between cholesterol, uric acid and blood sugar levels with the incidence of hypertension in Prolanis patients aged 50-75 years at the Paron Health Center, Ngawi Regency in the period January-March 2024. Methods: This study is a cross-sectional study with an observational analysis method using primary data. The population that became the subject of this study were Prolanis hypertension patients aged 50-75 years at the Paron Health Center, Ngawi Regency with a sample taken for this study of 52 patients who had met the inclusion criteria. The data analysis of this study used the chi square test. Results: Based on gender, Prolanis hypertension patients aged 50-75 years in women are 79.5% high cholesterol levels, and male patients are 46.2% high cholesterol levels, in women 56.4% have high uric acid levels and male patients are 53.8% have high uric acid levels, in women 7.7% high blood sugar levels and male patients are 7.7% have high blood sugar levels. Based on obesity status, Prolanis hypertension patients aged 50-75 years who are obese are 89.2% high cholesterol levels and non-obese are 26.7% high cholesterol levels, obese patients are 64.9% high uric acid levels and non-obese patients are 33.3% high uric acid levels, obese patients are 5.4% high blood sugar levels and non-obese patients are 13.3% high blood sugar levels. Conclusion: Based on gender, there is a relationship between cholesterol levels, with the incidence of hypertension in Prolanis patients aged 50-75 years. However, there is no relationship between uric acid levels and blood sugar levels with the incidence of hypertension in Prolanis patients aged 50-75 years. Based on obesity status, there is a relationship between cholesterol and uric acid levels with the incidence of hypertension in Prolanis patients aged 50-75 years. However, there is no relationship between blood sugar levels with the incidence of hypertension in Prolanis patients aged 50-75 years.

Abstract

Background: Facial skin care is needed to maintain and preserve moisture and elasticity of the facial skin. The use of organic masks can be used to treat and provide nutrition to the facial skin to overcome facial skin problems. Objective: The purpose of this study was to measure effectiveness of the combination of moringa leaves mask (Moringa oleifera L.) and honey with butterfly pea flower mask (Clitorea ternatea L.) on facial skin moisture. Methods: The research is an analytical experimental study, 30 women aged 40-50 years old were given a combination of moringa leaves mask and honey on the right side of the face and butterfly pea flower mask and honey on the left side of the face, then before using the mask and after using the mask, the moisture value of the facial skin was measured with a skin moisture analyzer. The treatment in this study was given twice a week for three weeks, from April to May 2025 at the Wijaya Surabaya doctor's practice and clinic, using statistical analysis of the Pearson Correlation test with a p value of 0.000 (α <0.005). Result: The combination of moringa leaves and honey experienced an increase in moisture value of 70% moist skin and 30% normal skin, and the combination of butterfly pea flower mask and honey experienced an increase of 60% moist skin and 40% to normal skin. Conclusion: The combination of moringa leaves mask and honey with butterfly pea flower mask and honey only has a difference of 10%, meaning that the use of both combinations of these masks is equally useful in increasing moisture in facial skin.
