Abstract

Mindfulness technique and lavender aromatherapy in reducing anxiety levels in cervical cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. This research method uses a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. A total of 49 respondents who experienced mild to moderate anxiety were involved in this study. The level of patient anxiety was measured before and after the intervention using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) questionnaire. The interventions provided included mindfulness technique training and lavender aromatherapy during chemotherapy sessions. The results showed a significant decrease in patient anxiety levels after the intervention, with the average anxiety level dropping from 43.40 to 34.26. The results of the paired sample t-test statistical test showed a p value <0.05, indicating that mindfulness and lavender aromatherapy interventions were effective in reducing anxiety in cervical cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Based on these findings, mindfulness and lavender aromatherapy interventions can be integrated as complementary therapies in cancer patient care to reduce anxiety during the treatment process. This study supports Calista Roy's adaptation theory, which emphasizes the importance of environmental interventions in helping patients adapt emotionally and physically to the disease. Suggestions for educational and health institutions are to integrate mindfulness techniques and lavender aromatherapy into nursing curricula and clinical practice to improve the well-being of cancer patients. These techniques can also be applied independently by the community as a simple way to manage everyday anxiety.

Abstract

COVID-19 infection transmits quickly and easily from one person to another. One way to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 is by increasing self-awareness. This study was to analyze self-awareness ability to breaking the COVID-19 transmission. This was a descriptive study with 518 respondents. Data were obtained through questionnaires with 40 statements using Goleman’s six indicators. The first indicator showed that 94.40% of respondents were able to recognize their feelings and could break COVID-19 transmission, the second indicator showed that 87.84% of respondents could recognize their strengths and weaknesses in preventing transmission, the third indicator showed that 88.42% possessed an independent attitude in deciding and preventing transmission, the fourth indicator showed that 86.88% of respondents could make informed decisions concerning the right ways to stop and prevent transmission, the fifth indicator stated that 87.26% were skilled in expressing their thoughts, feelings, opinions, and beliefs on transmission, and the last indicator showed that 88.22% of respondents could evaluate themselves concerning the virus transmission. Self-awareness could be raised through understanding. Nurses have responsibility in providing education to helping people be more aware of COVID-19 transmission by implementing health protocols: washing hands, wearing masks, maintaining distance, staying away from crowds, and reducing mobility.

Abstract

Post-CABG period is often characterized by medical complications, functional limitations, psychosocial problems, and a high risk of readmission. This review aims to examine the scientific evidence related to continuity of care in post-CABG patients, including the effectiveness of nursing interventions and cardiac rehabilitation in influencing patient outcomes. The method used was a literature review with a narrative approach, through searches of articles in PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar (2019–2025). Of the 1,863 articles initially identified, 9 met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed thematically. The results show that systematic nursing interventions such as discharge planning significantly reduce readmissions and medical complications, as well as improve quality of life. Home-based, outpatient, and telerehabilitation cardiac rehabilitation programs are effective in improving functional capacity, patient adherence, and productivity. Biopsychosocial support, integration of psychological rehabilitation, and patient participation through shared decision-making enhance coping, satisfaction, and patient engagement. Contextual factors such as geographical location and access to health services also influence outcomes. In conclusion, continuity of care after CABG requires an integrated, multidimensional intervention approach that encompasses physical, psychosocial, and socioeconomic aspects, in order to enhance clinical effectiveness, accelerate recovery, and support patients’ social reintegration.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that affects children's growth and development due to eating patterns that do not align with balanced nutrition. Mothers, as primary caregivers, play a crucial role, so effective and participatory nursing interventions are essential. This study used Dorothy E. Johnson's Behavioural System Theory as an environmental stimulus that influences behavioural systems. The objective of this study was to analyse the effect of health education using the brainstorming method on balanced nutritional eating patterns in stunted toddlers. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-post-test approach. The health education intervention was conducted over three weeks through three stages. The Round Robin brainstorming method was used. The study sample consisted of 38 mothers of stunted toddlers, selected using purposive sampling. The measurement tool employed the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ), which underwent validity and reliability tests, showing good content validity and an acceptable reliability coefficient (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.8). The research showed that the majority of children's eating patterns before the brainstorming method were in the poor category (76.3%), and after the intervention, 63.2% of toddlers' eating patterns were in the good category. The Wilcoxon test results indicated a significant effect of health education using the brainstorming method on changes in the dietary patterns of stunted toddlers. Health education using the brainstorming method had a significant effect on improving balanced nutrition in stunted toddlers.

Abstract

Pain is one of the most prevalent symptoms experienced by palliative care patients and significantly affects their quality of life. Although various interventions have been developed, pain management remains suboptimal, particularly regarding the implementation of evidence-based non-pharmacological interventions. Therefore, a literature synthesis is needed to identify effective and practical interventions for palliative nursing care. This study aimed to identify non-pharmacological interventions for pain management in palliative care patients. This study employed a Narrative Literature Review design guided by the PRISMA framework. Articles were searched through PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar databases, covering publications from 2020 to 2026. The inclusion criteria included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and quasi-experimental studies investigating the use of non-pharmacological interventions for pain management in palliative care patients. Article selection was conducted through identification, screening, and eligibility assessment stages. The data were analyzed descriptively using a narrative synthesis approach. A total of six articles meeting the inclusion criteria. The findings indicated that non-pharmacological interventions, including Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR), massage therapy, hot and cold compresses, and movement-based relaxation therapy, were effective in reducing pain intensity and improving the quality of life of palliative care patients. PMR demonstrated the most consistent effectiveness in reducing pain while improving sleep quality and daily functioning. Massage therapy and compress interventions also provided additional benefits by enhancing patient comfort. Non-pharmacological interventions are effective in managing pain among palliative care patients. A multimodal approach integrating both physical and psychological aspects is strongly recommended in nursing practice. PMR may be considered a primary intervention due to its effectiveness, ease of implementation, and ability to support patients' self-management of pain over the long term.

Abstract

Myoma uteri namely Benign tumors of the uterus, apart from being malignant, benign tumors of the uterus or uterine myomas often appear. Types of surgery on uterine fibroids include hysterectomy and myomectomy. This procedure has the potential to be painful. Nursing care for Mrs. S patients with uterine fibroids with acute pain through the SEFT (Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique) therapy approach were carried out from assessment, diagnosis, nursing plan, implementation to nursing evaluation. The general intervention given is pain management according to the Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standards with acute pain. The pain management intervention was then associated with SEFT non-pharmacological therapy. The SEFT method is a healing method of doing beats at certain meridian points by using the stages of tune-in, set-up, and tapping. After being given the intervention for 3 days, it showed that giving SEFT could reduce the intensity of the pain scale. SEFT therapy can make patients feel calm, comfortable and relaxed so that it affects the pain response. The results of the application SEFT to nursing care, it is recommended that maternity nurses, families and patients be able to practice SEFT therapy in the management of post-op laparotomy and hysterectomy pain patients.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Pregnancy is a process that begins with the release of a mature egg cell in the oviduct which then meets sperm so that the two unite to form a cell that will grow. High risk pregnancy is a pregnancy that will cause greater harm and complications to both the mother and the fetus in the womb and can cause death, pain, disability, discomfort and dissatisfaction. Complications during pregnancy can be categorized as a risk of pregnancy, as much as 90%. Maternal death according to the World Health Organization (WHO) is death that occurs during pregnancy, childbirth, or within 42 days after delivery from causes that are directly or indirectly related to the pregnancy. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of health education using animated video media on pregnant women's knowledge about high-risk pregnancies. The method used was Quasy Experiment. The results obtained were respondents' knowledge before being given health education about High Risk Pregnancy with a median of 1.23. Meanwhile, respondents' knowledge after being given health education was a median of 1.55. So a p value of 0.000 can be obtained. Thus, Ha 0.05 means that it is accepted or there is an influence of Health Education Using Animation Video Media on Pregnant Women's Knowledge about High Risk Pregnancy, with the significance value (p) in the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test being 0.300 (p 0.05), so it is based on the normality test Kolomogorov-Smirnov data is normally distributed. Meanwhile, the significance value (p) in the Shapiro-Wilk test is 0.650 (p 0.05), so that based on the Shapiro-Wilk normality test the data is normally distributed.
