Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of mind mapping media in developing students' critical thinking skills in elementary schools. Mind mapping media is known as a visual aid that can help students organize information and connect ideas in a more structured way. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method in an elementary school. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with teachers, classroom observations, and analysis of learning documents involving the use of mind mapping media. The research results show that the use of mind mapping media can stimulate students' critical thinking abilities by improving their analysis, synthesis and information evaluation skills. In addition, students also showed improvements in their ability to solve problems and collaborate in groups. These findings provide new insight into how mind mapping media can be integrated into the learning process to improve the quality of students' thinking at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This research aims to increase elementary school students' understanding of natural disaster mitigation through the use of visual educational media. A qualitative approach was used in this research, with a research design in the form of a case study in one of the elementary schools in a disaster-prone area. Data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The visual educational media developed includes illustrations, animated videos, and infographics that explain types of natural disasters, mitigation steps, and self-saving measures. The research results show that the use of visual educational media significantly increases students' understanding of the concept of disaster mitigation, as seen from the increase in student participation in learning and their ability to explain mitigation steps independently. This research provides recommendations for developing more innovative and technology-based learning media to support disaster education in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research aims to understand how elementary school students view and behave towards air pollution around the school environment. Using a qualitative approach, this research involved in-depth interviews with students from several elementary schools in urban areas that are exposed to significant levels of air pollution. The data obtained was analyzed thematically to identify students' perceptions regarding the impact of air pollution on their health and the actions they consider necessary to reduce pollution. The research results show that most students have a basic understanding of air pollution, but their knowledge about its impact on health is still limited. Students' attitudes tend to be passive, although they show a desire to be involved in environmental conservation efforts through simple activities at school. This research provides important insights for the development of more effective educational programs to increase students' awareness of the importance of maintaining the air quality around them.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze students' social interactions in implementing the salted egg making project in elementary schools. With a qualitative approach, this research uses observation, interviews and documentation methods to collect data from fourth grade students involved in project activities. The focus of the research is how students communicate, work together, and resolve conflicts during activities. The research results show that the salted egg making project can improve students' social skills, including communication skills, joint decision making, and tolerance for differences of opinion. Students appear more active in sharing tasks and are responsible for their respective roles. In addition, it was found that teachers have an important role as facilitators to direct positive interactions between students. This activity also shows that project-based learning can be an effective means of developing students' social aspects in the school environment. Based on these findings, it is recommended that schools integrate similar activities in the curriculum to encourage the holistic development of students' social skills.

Abstract

This research aims to develop visual-based interactive media that is effective in increasing elementary school students' understanding of the concept of the water cycle. The water cycle is an important material in the science curriculum, but it is often difficult for students to understand because of its abstract nature. This research uses a qualitative approach with the research and development (R&D) model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects consisted of teachers and fourth grade students in one of the elementary schools in Indonesia. Data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation, then analyzed thematically. The research results show that visual-based interactive media, such as animation and digital illustrations accompanied by interactive narratives, can significantly increase students' understanding of the concept of the water cycle. This media also increases student participation in the learning process and helps teachers convey material in a more interesting way. Using this media makes it easier for students to connect theoretical concepts with everyday phenomena, such as rain and evaporation. The teacher stated that this media was practical to use and relevant to learning needs. In conclusion, visual-based interactive media can be an innovative solution in increasing the effectiveness of learning water cycle concepts in elementary schools. This research recommends further development for widespread integration of technology in science learning.

Abstract

Character education implementation through language development is essential in primary education. However, the application of character education in reality has not been optimal. This study aimed to explore the implementation of character education through language development in primary schools. This research used a qualitative approach, and data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The population of this study consisted of 522 students and 16 teachers in 15 classes at Silih Asah II State Elementary School in Cirebon City, Indonesia. The research sample was sampled from class 2A, consisting of 40 students, and 10 students' parents also gave feedback regarding this learning. The teacher sample consisted of 5 male and 5 female teachers, including the principal. The results showed that the implementation of character education through language development can be accomplished by combining language development activities with character learning activities such as storytelling, singing, and group games that involve all students. In addition, the results showed that through language development, children can learn communication and social skills that help them build good character. Therefore, this study concluded that language development can be an effective medium for implementing character education in primary schools.

Abstract

This research aims to explore and analyze the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, with a focus on innovation and the effectiveness of using AI in improving the quality of learning. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study design involving five Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Cirebon Regency, involving in-depth interviews with 15 PAI teachers and 50 students, classroom observations, and document analysis. The research results show that the application of AI provides significant benefits such as delivering more interactive material, personalizing learning according to student needs, and more efficient learning evaluation. In conclusion, the implementation of AI in PAI learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah can improve the quality of learning and student understanding, although its success depends on technological readiness, teacher training, and support from related parties. It is hoped that this research will become a reference for other madrasas in adopting AI to increase the effectiveness of PAI learning.
