Abstract

This study examines the influence of economic growth, population size, and open unemployment rate on the Human Development Index (HDI) in the Tapal Kuda region of East Java, which includes the districts of Banyuwangi, Bondowoso, Jember, Lumajang, Probolinggo, Pasuruan, and Situbondo during the period 2014–2023. The analysis was conducted using secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) employing panel data regression via the Fixed Effects Model (FEM) approach. The findings indicate that economic growth does not have a significant negative impact on the HDI, suggesting that changes in economic growth have not yet notably improved or reduced the quality of life for residents in this region. The population size variable has a significant positive impact, indicating that population growth is accompanied by improved access to education, health services, and living standards. Conversely, the open unemployment rate has a significant negative impact on the HDI, indicating that high unemployment is a barrier to human development progress. Based on these findings, policies that prioritize equitable development, job creation, and improvements in the quality of education and health services are needed to accelerate HDI improvement in the Tapal Kuda region.

Abstract

Cancer is a non-communicable disease in which cells or tissues grow uncontrollably and malignantly and require long-term treatment. Chemotherapy is the primary treatment used to treat cancer by giving a type of drug that is tailored to the type of cancer suffered by the child. The mechanism of action of chemotherapy drugs is very strong to kill cancer cells but this also affects other normal cells. This shows that chemotherapy has side effects in its treatment. The side effects of chemotherapy are physical and psychological impacts. Objective: this study aims to determine the physical and psychological impact on children who undergo chemotherapy. This research was conducted at Arifin Achmad Regional Hospital. Methods: This research design uses descriptive quantitative with cross sectional approach. The sample of this study was 66 respondents. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique with inclusion criteria namely children who received chemotherapy treatment and were aged 5 to 7 years. The analysis used was univariate analysis. Results: The results of this study show that the physical impacts that often arise are hair loss (71.4%), dry mouth (40.5%), lack of energy (38.1%), changes in skin color (38.1%), nausea (38.1%), weight loss (35.7%) and others. Frequent psychological effects were irritability (69.0%), sleep disturbance (42.9%), worry (31.0%) and others. sadness (28.6%) and others. Conclusion: From the results of the study, it can be seen that the most frequent impacts on children undergoing chemotherapy are hair loss and irritability.

Abstract

Abstract

The problem of delay remains a major challenge in the construction world. During the implementation of construction projects, delays are often caused by obstacles or unplanned problems. Delays lead to the duration of project execution not as planned in the work contract. Many ways are done to overcome project schedule delays such as the crashing time acceleration method and the Last Planner System (LPS). The crashing method is carried out by accelerating the duration of project completion by carrying out three systems, namely increasing manpower, changing work time (shifts) and adding work time (overtime). Meanwhile, the LPS is a planning system based on collaboration, integrated commitment between works by involving people who are directly responsible and understand the work in a production unit. This study aims to analyze the acceleration of time with the Crashing method and with the LPS then compare the effectiveness of time acceleration between the two methods. Case study from the Pilot Scale Product Development Facility Building (Building No.34). The problem is what level of efficiency in both methods of time acceleration will be analyzed. The implementation of crashing with alternatives shift work reduces the project duration by 22 days, whereas the simulation of the LPS increases the actual weight compared to planning. The difference between the two method is that the crashing method is applied after delays occur, while the LPS accelerates work and increases productivity by utilizing continuous team collaboration.
