Abstract

Technology in education demands innovative and creative learning by utilizing android smartphones to improve student learning outcomes. Therefore, this study aims to develop and produce an android-based application on algebraic form material to improve student learning outcomes for grade VII students of SMP Negeri 8 Kupang that is valid, practical, and effective and to find out teacher and student responses to the application.The method used in this study is the Research and Development (R&D) research method and the model used for ADDIE development which consists of 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation andevaluation (evaluation). Data collection techniques used are interviews, questionnaires and learning outcomes tests. The data analysis technique used is qualitative data analysis and quantitative data analysis.The results showed that the Algebra Learning Application met the valid, practical and effective eligibility criteria and was able to improve student learning outcomes. The average total validity by material experts is 4.01, education practitioners are 4.23, and media experts are 4.66, with the "valid" category. The average total practicality of the teacher is 4.81 and that of the students in the small group is 4.2, while in the large group is 4.62 with the "practical" category. The percentage of mastery learning using learning media is 83.33% in the "effective" category. There was an increase in interest and completeness of student learning outcomes which initially increased from 40% to 83.33% so that the Algebra Learning application was very feasible to use. Abstract

Mathematics learning in this era requires teachers to be able to develop learning models that pay attention to the characteristics of students, so it is important for teachers to know learning trajectory. This study aims to describe the conception of learning trajectory and hypothetical learning trajectory, as well as presenting the design of hypothetical learning trajectories in mathematics learning. Based on the theories studied, it is concluded that hypothetical learning trajectory is a learning design in the form of allegations on student learning activities based on initial understanding and characteristics of students to achieve higher understanding. HLT has three main components namely learning objectives, learning activities, and hypotheses of the learning process. HLT is used by teachers as a guide to predict and prepare learning flow designs that are appropriate to the stages of student thinking and can improve student learning outcomes. The findings of previous studies show that to design HLT in mathematics learning, educators need to consider student obstacle learning, a hierarchy of material, and learning support capacity, so that learning activities to be hypothesized are built based on these things. It is recommended that future researchers can use the existing HLT, and also develop HLT in other materials that have not been tested by further studying HLT and whatever affects it, research with different differences can be used.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1) mengukur level literasi matematika siswa sekolah menengah di Kabupaten Kupang, dan 2) mengetahui perbedaan literasi matematika siswa sekolah menengah di Kabupaten Kupang ditinjau dari perbedaan gender, kemampuan matematika, dan status sosial ekonomi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMA/K Kelas X di Kabupaten Kupang. Teknik penarikan sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling dengan pemilihan sampel dalam tiap cluster sebanyak 1 kelas untuk sekolah. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) soal tes literasi matematika yang diambil dari soal tes PISA tahun 2006 dan 2012 yang terdiri dari 12 soal dengan konten change and relationship, shape and space, quantity, uncertainty, dan (2) angket latar belakang siswa yang berisi biodata siswa, keluarga, sekolah, pengalaman belajar matematika di sekolah. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif, uji Mann Whitney dan uji Kruskal Wallis. Hasil penelitian menunjukan level literasi siswa berada pada level sedang (6,7%), level rendah (76,7%), dan sangat rendah (16,7%). Tidak terdapat perbedaan literasi matematika siswa yang signifikan berdasarkan tinjauan perbedaaan gender dan perbedaan status sosial ekonomi, serta terdapat perbedaan literasi matematika siswa yang signifikan berdasarkan tinjauan kemampuan matematika

Abstract

Topik fungsi kuadrat dimulai dari menggambar grafik, menganalisis bentuk grafik serta penentuan sumbu simetri dan nilai optimum. Ketiga materi ini dalam praktiknya memiliki masalah terkait pemahaman dan motivasi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan menerapkan pendekatan saintifik dengan GeoGebra untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian tindakan kelas, dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 32 siswa pada kelas IX C SMPN 5 Kupang. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yakni soal tes hasil belajar tiap siklus, dan lembar observasi motivasi siswa. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Indikator keberhasilan dalam penelitian ini adalah jika secara individu siswa telah mencapai nilai KKM 70 dan secara klasikal 75% siswa mencapai nilai KKM tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada siklus I, 73,73% siswa memiliki motivasi yang baik dalam mengikuti pembelajaran dan meningkat menjadi 80,93% pada siklus II. Lebih lanjut, hasil belajar pada siklus I dikategorikan memenuhi indikator ketuntasan karena lebih dari 70% siswa tuntas secara klasikal. Presentasi ini meningkat menjadi 78,125% pada siklus II. Peningkatan ini menunjukan penerapan pendekatan saintifik dengan media GeoGebra memberi dampak yang postif terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, peneliti merekomendasikan kegiatan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik dengan GeoGebra dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran fungsi kuadrat

Abstract

This review aims to describe the model, characteristics, and design of blended learning, to describe the trend of research blended learning in supporting the development of students' mathematical thinking skills and to provide recommendations for blended learning in supporting the development of students' mathematical thinking skills in the future. The method used in this paper is an article review method which is carried out in three stages, namely identifying keywords related to blended learning in developing mathematical thinking skills, article search strategies, and analyzing articles. Blended learning is a combination of learning patterns, between face-to-face learning and online learning. The trend of Blended learning is carried out with online learning and face-to-face learning in class is carried out alternately (rotational model), using various LMS. The results of the article analysis show that the blended learning stage can develop students' mathematical thinking skills, namely the seeking of information stage students are directed to think critically. At this stage students are more motivated and independent in finding or accessing materials online. Then at the stage of acquisition of information and synthesizing of knowledge, students are directed to solve problems, use mathematical understanding skills, reasoning, connection and representation skills, communication and collaboration, and think critically through discussions, presentations, and work on practice questions. In addition, students look more enthusiastic and motivated because it is adjusted to their learning style and learning speed and students are directed to be independent in learning the material. The researcher recommends a blended learning design using the flipped classroom model with online learning using the Moodle LMS in which each stage of blended learning, students are directed to rely on mathematical thinking skills. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui besar pengaruh penggunaan problem based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir matematis siswa dan perbedaan pengaruh penggunaan problem based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir matemati siswa ditinjau dari jenis berpikir matematis, jenjang pendidikan, dan tahun penelitian. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan analisis data menggunakan meta-analisis. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei dengan sampel 42 artikel penelitian eksperimen. Hasil analisis secara keseluruhan rata-rata besar pengaruh penggunaan problem based learning memiliki pengaruh yang tinggi terhadap kemampuan berpikir matematis siswa yaitu sebesar 0,86. Selain itu, hasil uji hipotesis perbedaan pengaruh berdasarkan jenis berpikir matematis memberikan hasil signifikansi , dan perbedaan pengaruh berdasarkan jenjang pendidikan memberikan hasil , sehingga tidak ada perbedaan pengaruh penggunaan problem based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir matematis siswa jika ditinjau berdasarkan jenis berpikir matematis dan jenjang pendidikan, sedangkan perbedaan pengaruh berdasarkan tahun penelitian memberikan hasil , ini menunjukan terdapat perbedaan pengaruh problem based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir matematis siswa ditinjau dari tahun penelitian.

Abstract

This study aims to develop online learning tools in the Algebra Structure course. This research is a development using the Kemp model. The learning tools produced in this study are RPS, RTS, teaching materials, learning videos and learning outcomes tests. The results of the validation and testing of the learning tools show that learning tools are valid, practical and effective. The average validator's assessment of the RPS, RTS, Teaching Materials, Learning Videos and Tests Learning outcomes are 3.72, 3.76, 3.76, and 3.72 with good criteria. The average value of observations by observer 1, observer 2 and observer 3 is 4.00, 4.06, and 4.12, with good categories. The results of student responses showed that 93.482% of students satisfied with the teaching component, 84.09% of students satisfied with the novelty of the learning component, 94.87% interest in participating in further learning, 88.88% expressed satisfaction with language clarity, 91.42% satisfied with the appearance of the material teaching and learning videos. The validation of the questions showed that there were 3 items with high validity, and there were 6 items with sufficient validity. Furthermore, the test reliability coefficient = 0.79 which indicates that the learning outcomes test has high reliability and is used without revision. Thus, the validation and testing of the device shows that student activities are effective, lecturers' ability to manage learning is good, student responses are positive and test results are valid and reliable.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh antara kecemasan, kesulitan belajar dan motivasi belajar terhadap hasil belajar matematika pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Kupang. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Kupang dan sampel yang diambil sebanyak 78 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linear sederhana dan analisis regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa baik secara parsial maupun simultan, kecemasan, kesulitan belajar, dan motivasi tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa

Abstract

The purposes of this study were: i) Developing strategic management of education and training online tutorial; ii) Testing the feasibility of strategic management of education and training online tutorial; iii) Finding out the obstacles in strategic management of education and training online tutorial development process; and iv) Finding the solutions in overcoming obstacles in developing strategic management of education and training online tutorial. This developmental research used the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE) model and involved second year students of teacher training and education faculty in the Kupang region, Indonesia. The instruments used in this study were: i) Validation guidelines for online tutorial material and supporting instruments; ii) Students’ self-directed learning questionnaire; and iii) Online tutorial formative test questions. Data analysis used descriptive and inferential statistical test. The results show that the online tutorial: i) Fulfilled the aspect of validity in the excellent category; ii) Fulfilled the effectiveness aspect in the good category; iii) Limitations of the source, difficulties in compacting the content of material and developing discussion questions are the obstacles in developing the online tutorial; and iv) The solutions are (utilize Universitas Terbuka (UT)'s open educational resources (OER), make concept maps, and keep practicing to make question samples and consult the questions made to the experts).

Abstract

The development of technology in the field of education is growing rapidly, thus requiring teachers to be more creative in developing technology-based learning media by utilizing android smartphones. Therefore, this study aims to develop and produce an Android-based mathematics learning media using smart apps creator on the material for geometry transformation for class IX of SMP Negeri 15 Kupang City that is valid, practical and effective. The method used in this research is the Research and method Development (R&D) and the models used in the development process this learning media is the ADDIE development model which consists of 5 stages, namely analysis (analysis), design (design), development (development), implementation (implementation) and evaluation (evaluation). The result showed that the learning media developed met the eligibility criteria that were valid, practical and effective. The average total validity by material experts is 4.5 and media experts is 4.3 with the “very valid” category. The average total practicatility of the teacher was 4.71 and the students in the small group trial was 4.51, in the large group trial 4.43 with the “very practical” category. The percentage of completeness in the small group trial obtained 100% results with the category “very effective” , in the large group trial the results obtained 82.14% with the category “very effective”. So that android-based learning media is very feasible to use.
