Abstract

Dengue cases is a tropical disease transmitted by Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes, which has become an international health issue in recent decades. The purpose of this study is to determine the autocorrelation and distribution patterns of Dengue Fever (DF), Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), Dengue Shock Syndrome (DSS), Severe Dengue (SD), and Dengue Warning Signs (DWS) in the operational area of Hospital X. This study is classified as correlational, with a retrospective cohort design, utilizing patient medical records from January 2 to May 15, 2024. The total sample consists of 1,698 records, collected through purposive sampling, with the criteria being patient medical records diagnosed with DF, DHF, DSS, SD, and DWS during 2024. The z-score indicates that clustered distribution patterns occur in DF cases (z-score 5.07) and DHF cases (z-score 9.85). Random distribution patterns occur in DSS cases (z-score 0.86), SD cases (z-score -0.35), and DWS cases (z-score -0.15). The hypothesis that shows autocorrelation (p-value 0.000) is that the occurrence of DF in one location correlates with DF occurrences in surrounding locations, and the occurrence of DHF in one location correlates (p-value 0.000) with DHF occurrences in surrounding locations

Abstract

The benefits of binahong leaves (Anredera cordifolia) in the treatment of external wounds and as an anti-inflammatory agent can be optimised when used in topical form compared to the extract form. This research aims to determine the particle size characteristics and entrapment efficiency of the phytosome suspension of thick ethanol extract of binahong leaves using phosphatidylcholine via PSA and calculate the entrapment efficiency using the 1:1 formula. The research was carried out using a laboratory experimental method where the phytosome suspension was prepared by thin layer hydration. Phytosomes are a technology developed for the formulation of drugs and nutraceuticals containing hydrophilic active compounds from natural sources (such as herbs). This is achieved by complexing the active ingredients (phytoconstituents) with phospholipids. The resulting phytosomes typically have an average particle size of 50 nm to 500 µm, which is the result of complexation between the plant active ingredients and phosphatidylcholine. The phytosome suspension is prepared from a mixture of phytosome complex, ethanol and water, which has been subjected to thin layer hydration. The results of previous studies show that it is possible to prepare phytosome complex suspensions using natural materials and phosphatidylcholine carriers, with the resulting particle size characteristics and entrapment efficiency varying. The mean particle size of the phytosome suspension of the thick ethanol extract of Binahong leaves was 1.154 ± 0.745 µm with a polydispersity index of 0.416 and an entrapment efficiency value of 82.7140%.

Abstract

Health information systems are a priority in supporting Universal Health Coverage (UHC). Yet 65% of WHO member states face challenges in health information system integration, causing losses of up to $300 billion per year. In Indonesia, 35% of BPJS claims are delayed due to incomplete documentation. This study aims to evaluate the Medical Record Management Information System (SIMRM) at West Bandung Private Hospital using the Health Metric Network (HMN) framework. The mix method design was used with a total sampling of 22 medical record staff. Data was collected through questionnaires, interviews and observations. The results show that SIMRM is in the category of "there is but inadequate" with a percentage of 59%. The evaluation showed weaknesses in the completeness of documentation and the accuracy of the diagnostic code. So it can be concluded that even though SIMRM helps speed up the documentation process, improvements are still needed in system integration and staff training to increase the effectiveness of outpatient BPJS claims, so that it can improve the quality of health services.

Abstract

The 2017 Global Nutrition Report states that 2 billion adults and 41 million children worldwide are overweight or obese. Based on Body Mass Index (BMI) assessments using Z-scores, it was found that out of 168 students at SMAN 2 Padalarang, 21 students (12.5%) had abnormal BMI values. One proposed solution is nutrition education through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and learning videos to increase students' knowledge about obesity prevention and balanced nutrition. This program aims to determine whether there is a significant difference between the pre- and post-intervention scores for each method. The implementation of this activity involved FGDs and learning videos, with 248 students from grades 10, 11, and 12 at SMAN 2 Padalarang participating. A total of 124 students received counseling through the FGD method, while the other 124 students participated through the learning video method. This program was conducted on August 21-22, 2024. The analysis showed that both intervention methods, video and FGD, had a significant impact (p-value 0.000 for both interventions) on the change in scores from pre-test to post-test. In conclusion, in this program, the FGD method showed a greater effect (1.12) than the learning video (0.99).

Abstract

According to the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey, the incidence of Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI) in West Java reached 156,977 cases. This high prevalence reflects a significant public health challenge, influenced by population density and environmental factors that facilitate the spread of the disease. As a strategic intervention, this community empowerment program aims to assess and enhance public knowledge regarding URTI prevention and management. The initiative was designed as an educational solution utilizing the field school method and educational brochures. The program was implemented on Friday, December 20, 2024, in the Jalan Sodong area, West Bandung Regency, involving 10 respondents. The program’s outcomes indicated a substantial improvement in community knowledge. Prior to the intervention, the average knowledge score was 46.5, which significantly increased to 95.5 after participation, reflecting a 91.45% increase. This notable improvement serves as a key factor in strengthening public awareness and preparedness in preventing URTI. Thus, the application of the field school method combined with educational brochures has proven to be an effective approach in increasing public awareness of URTI. This initiative contributes to disease prevention efforts, with the potential for broader implementation to reduce the incidence of URTI in other communities.

Abstract

Cases of ARI disease in the Cipatat Health Center working area in December 2023-February 2024 are still high with 1,298 cases and no ARI disease mapping has been done. This study aims to determine the autocorrelation of prevalence, distribution patterns, number of cases, point prevalence rate value and distribution of ARI disease in the Cipatat Health Center working area. This type of research is correlation with a spatial approach based on the Moran index and with a retrospective cohort study. The data collection technique was purposive sampling, namely files taken in December 2023-February 2024 with the highest number of cases in Citatah village with 598 cases. The highest point prevalence rate value is in Citatah village with 360, the distribution is done with four-level clustering with the highest level of cases in Citatah and Cipatat villages. Based on spatial statistics, the p-value is 0.00, the hypothesis H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected because the p-value is less than α (5%). Factors causing ARI are internal community factors and external environmental factors. It can be concluded that the incidence of ARI in the Cipatat Health Center working area is cluster-shaped, which means that there are similarities in the characteristics of the incident area with other areas so that regional-based disease prevention interventions are needed.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infectious disease caused by the Dengue virus and transmitted through the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. The Bandung City Health Office said that this year as of April 26, 2024, the cumulative number of DHF cases in Bandung City exceeded 3,025 cases. This study aims to identify the factors associated between INA-CBGs tariffs and the actual treatment costs of Dengue Fever (DHF) patients at Hospital X Bandung. A correlation research method with a retrospective approach was used to analyze secondary data of JKN claims in 2023. The population in this study were patients who underwent inpatient treatment in 2023 at Hospital X Bandung with a diagnosis of Dengue Fever (DHF) with diagnosis code A91, totaling 906 medical record files. Samples were selected based on the criteria of medical record files with a primary diagnosis of Dengue Fever (DHF) and medical record files with JKN tariff setting. The results showed that length of stay (p < 0.001), medical procedures (p 0.018), and severity (p < 0.036) of illness significantly contributed to the tariff gap. This tariff gap has implications for the hospital's financial loss and potential reduction in service quality. Based on these findings, it is recommended to review the INA-CBGs tariff structure, develop clinical pathways, stricter management of treatment classes, and improve cooperation between hospitals and BPJS Kesehatan.
