Abstract

There are many alterations and adaptations of the workspaces after the Covid-19 pandemic. Nowadays, workspaces are required to have flexibility in facilitating physical and virtual activities, work-from-home (WFH), and work-from-office (WFO) activities. Besides, workspaces must provide comfort based on user preferences and demand to support workers’ health and productivity. In order to answer these problems, the design of interactive digital devices that can be adjusted according to physical needs, activities, and preferences is needed to support the ideal workspace comfort. The research method used in this research is a literature review related to ideal workspace comfort standards and an assessment of the Arduino as an interactive digital device to produce an interactive digital device method design that can detect ideal comfort and be applied to workspaces. The result shows that as an interactive digital device, Arduino can be implemented in a workspace to detect and produce ideal workspace comfort regarding lighting, noise, temperature, and humidity. Arduino also supports flexibility and varied demand in a workspace because of its adjustable artificial intelligence feature. The ideal standard of workspace differs based on the activities and geographical conditions of the country and is related to the varied preferences of its users. Based on its complexity, for further research to be carried out, it is recommended to conduct a case study of ideal workspace interior design with an Arduino device in a specific place to generate more accurate data and suitable workspace design.

Abstract

The pharmacy was built to provide health services for the community, especially when purchasing medicines from a doctor's prescription. In Pharmacy Service Standards, pharmacies must always provide suitable facilities, infrastructure, service quality, and competent pharmaceutical staff. Biophilic design is one of the interior design approaches that can be applied to these requirements. Biophilic can escalate user productivity and reduce stress levels. The research method used was analyzing events directly (observation), interviews, and documentation. In general, the interior arrangement of a pharmacy consists of an entrance, a drug display case, a cashier, and a drug dispensing area. The responsible pharmacist's area is mostly hidden on the room side, so it is not easily accessible to consumers. Storefront tables usually used to display medicines were arranged to separate the consumer area from the inside of the pharmacy. Patients can only ask questions briefly, see medicines and pay directly at the display counter. In the interior design field, designing a medical area is similar to the healing activity of a patient. Previous studies have shown that the comfort factor in the room is sufficient to affect the health of patients at the pharmacy. Some supporting factors are applications of bright interior elements, green leaves, and brown color

Abstract

Library as a public place with facilities that meet the needs of education, research, informationpreservation and user recreation has an important role in the growth of generation Z in Indonesia. However, as a place that can accommodate the various productive activities of generation Z, libraries are still of little interest to generation Z. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the character of generation Z and its application into a library interior design with the aim of making the library interior in accordance with their needs and character so that the library can be more attractive to generation Z. This research was conductedqualitatively at selected locations where the productive Generation Z carried out their activities at several locations in the city of Bandung. There are stages through several methods including literature study, observation, and questionnaires, then further analyzed using the comparison matrix method fromthe datathat had been obtained. The results of the study found that there are several aspects in the library interior that can be adapted to the character of generation Z, first is the character of phigital, practical andindependent with the provision of digital-based facilities, then the character likes to interact with the application of dynamic layouts in reading and study areas, as well as the provision of webcams and LCDs tosupport remote interaction, then the creative and innovative character with the application of an attractive and not monotonous library atmosphere, next is the character of multitasking with the provision of semiformal areas, then the last is the ambitious character with the application of the separation of noisy areas and quiet areas in the library area. Abstract

The population of Indonesia in 2022 will reach 27,536 million people, of which 17.5 millionpeople are people with disabilities. In this context, disability refers to physical or mental limitations limiting a person's social interaction. The primary function of a wheelchair brake is to control the speedand movement of the wheelchair and its equipment. However, the manual wheelchair braking systemis still not ef ective enough to overcome steep roads. Accessibility for people with disabilities is greatlyinfluenced by environmental and structural factors, especially in areas where the streets are long or steep. To increase accessibility for people who use manual wheelchairs and have physical limitations, particular research was carried out. The method used in this research uses a design thinking frameworkthat begins with a data collection process through interviews, observations, documents, and validationusing triangulation of data sources to conclude, then carrying out the design process using experimental methods and validating wheelchair users with disabilities. This research aims to address the mobilitychallenges of people with physical disabilities who use manual wheelchairs in areas with steeptopography. The result of this research is that an innovative concept of using brake accessories onmanual wheelchairs has been developed. Keywords : disability, wheelchair, accessibility, physical limitations

Abstract

The right design methods and approaches will make Small and Medium Industries (SMEs) highly competitive to compete in the local and international arena. The design development industry for SMEs products also has a sustainable impact on society as workers who have an important role in the quality of products that will be produced by the SMEs where they work. During this time, CV. Cipta Abadi is one of the SMEs in Cirebon that produces and sells products made from rattan based on orders according to designs received. As long as the Industry is operational, product designs from orders received are not allowed to be produced and resold because they do not have Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for these product designs. This SMEs does not have a unique product that is owned as an original product of his work. This is due to budget constraints in recruiting designers or financing design services. This community service program uses a science and technology simulation method through a furniture design approach. In the process the design approach follows stages that are both theoretical and practical, namely the stages of Conceptualization, Research, Design Development, Implementation, Evaluation, Presentation. In the end the team was able to provide three original designs with proportional shapes and dimensions to maximize the volume of the inner container for the needs of the export market without compromising the aesthetic value of the product which is a factor of market attractiveness both locally and internationally. The resulting rattan product designs are also registered for their intellectual property as a form of protection for industrial designs which are the exclusive economic rights of CV. Cipta Abadi.

Abstract

The waste problem in Indonesia is a problem that has not been resolved to date; this hurts the surrounding environment, one of which is 23.3 million tonnes annually produced from 202 districts or cities, of which only 15 are appropriately managed. 6 million tons annually. Therefore, it is necessary to process plastic waste to minimize the accumulation of plastic waste and its impact on the environment (Amanullah. G, 2023). Olah Plastic is one of the MSMEs located in Bandung that processes plastic waste into products. However, Olah Plastic has a problem in the form of remaining unprocessed production waste, so product innovation is needed that can minimize production waste and activities that can increase public knowledge about processing. plastic waste. The results of this research are block printing plates made from the remaining waste from Olah Plastic production, where the printing plates will be used as media in workshops to increase public awareness regarding the negative impact of plastic waste on the environment, which still has selling value

Abstract

Fashion waste is a global concern due to its large production volume. Therefore, waste management is a major concern in the industry to reduce negative impacts on the environment. The case study in this study is on a garment factory on Jalan Tamim. The waste produced by this garment needs to be considered in environmental management on Jalan Tamim Bandung. It highlights the urgency of implementing more sustainable production practice innovations by utilizing fabric scraps. The design approach method is used to provide a deep understanding of the problem's urgency that can produce design solutions with the Design Thinking stages, namely, emphasizing, defining, ideating, prototyping, and testing. The design results are expected to be an alternative strategy for utilizing fabric scraps in the context of sustainable fashion using fabric manipulation techniques
