Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of text-based learning in improving the academic literacy of postgraduate students in the Indonesian Language Study Program. Academic literacy at the postgraduate level encompasses the ability to read, write, and think critically systematically in an academic context. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that text-based learning significantly contributes to improving students' academic literacy. Students are able to understand academic texts more deeply, organize scientific information, and produce academic writing that aligns with scientific conventions. Text-based learning emphasizes understanding the structure, social purpose, and linguistic characteristics of texts, enabling students to actively engage in the process of analyzing and producing scientific texts. In addition to improving technical skills, this approach also builds students' academic awareness and critical thinking skills. Despite challenges related to differences in students' initial abilities and time constraints, text-based learning has proven to be an effective and sustainable strategy for strengthening the academic literacy of postgraduate students in Indonesian Language. This research has implications for the development of more contextual and practice-based learning methods in higher education.

Abstract

This study examines how the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) cooperative learning model is implemented in Pancasila Education classes at grade VI of SDN 1 Tanjung Makmur. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, students, the principal, and parents, and document analysis. The entire process followed a qualitative case study design. TSTS implementation unfolded through four stages, namely heterogeneous group formation, group discussion, stay-stray rotation, and synthesis. Each stage produced distinct interaction patterns, psychological dynamics, and teaching challenges. Three contextual factors shaped implementation quality, namely teacher facilitation skills, group dynamics, and students' prior communicative ability. The stay-stray rotation proved to be the most demanding stage, and also the most pedagogically rich, requiring students to draw on cognitive, communicative, and emotional readiness at once. Of all the findings, one stands out there is a natural fit between how TSTS works and what Pancasila values ask of students. Learning through TSTS is, in practice, a direct exercise in mutual cooperation, deliberation, and respect for difference. The study contributes a process-oriented understanding of TSTS that moves beyond outcome measurement, and points to practical directions for developing teachers' facilitation skills in civic and character education.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the improvement in learning outcomes of class V students at SDN 31 Palembang before and after implementing differentiation learning strategies in view of science learning. This research design uses Quasi Experimental Design. Quasi Experimental Design where there is only one research group that is measured before and after treatment. The research design uses a one group pretest-posttest design, consisting of one predetermined group. The subjects in this research were 28 class V students at SDN 31 Palembang. The instruments used to measure student learning outcomes are pre-test and post-test scores. As a result of the research that has been carried out and the discussion, the researcher concludes that there is an influence of the differentiated learning model on the learning outcomes of class V science students. This is shown by testing the hypothesis using the paired sample t test. The t value obtained is 6.392 > 2.048, the t table value df=28 is significant. (2-tailed) of 0.000 means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using interactive media, Wordwall, integrated with Interactive Flat Panel (IFP), in improving reading comprehension skills in narrative texts. The primary motivation for this research was low reading interest and students' difficulties in understanding the intrinsic elements of texts. The method used was descriptive qualitative, with data collection through observation and interviews. The results showed that the combination of Wordwall and IFP created a dynamic and visual learning environment, enabling students to more easily construct meaning from narrative texts. The conclusion of this study is that the appropriate use of interactive technology can be an innovative solution to address literacy barriers in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research is based on the reality of fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Tepung Sari, where students' literacy skills in determining main ideas are still concerning. Students tend to get stuck in the pattern of copying the first sentence of a paragraph without truly analyzing the essence of the reading. To overcome this impasse, this study implemented the Small Group Discussion method. Through a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach over two cycles, a significant transformation in the learning atmosphere was found. The results showed that a more intimate and non-intimidating discussion space allowed students to exchange strategies for understanding texts collegially. Quantitatively, there was a surge in classical completion rates from only 40% in the pre-cycle to 90% at the end of the second cycle. This study concludes that shifting problem-solving authority from teachers to students through small groups not only improves academic scores but also fosters students' critical thinking in analyzing reading texts.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the phenomenon of low interest in writing among third-grade students, who often view personal letters as a tedious academic burden. The primary objective of this study was to examine in depth how parental support, both material and non-material, can act as a catalyst in motivating students to learn. Through a qualitative approach using observation and interviews, the results revealed that emotional parental support such as guidance in sentence construction and appreciation for work has a more significant impact than simply providing stationery. When parents are actively involved in their children's creative process, psychological barriers to writing can be minimized, allowing students to become more expressive and confident in composing personal letters. These findings confirm that literacy success at the elementary level is not solely a product of teacher instruction in the classroom, but rather the result of warm synergy in the family room.

Abstract

This article examines the concept of civic responsibility in Civic Education (PKn) through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The purpose of this study is to analyze how Civic Education contributes to the development of students’ civic responsibility, encompassing cognitive, affective, and conative dimensions. The study examined 15 national and international journal articles published between 2020 and 2025, sourced from Google Scholar and the SINTA-indexed database. The results indicate that PKn instruction employing active, contextual, and collaborative methods significantly strengthens students’ civic responsibility. The development of civic responsibility is most effective when Civic Education integrates values education with the development of practical citizenship competencies. This article provides implications for the development of more meaningful Civic Education learning strategies in schools.

Abstract

This study discusses the phonological analysis of the Javanese language used by the people of Tridadi Village, East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, using a geographical dialectology approach. The Javanese language that developed in the area is the result of the distribution of speakers from Java Island who experienced adaptation due to the influence of the geographical environment and contact with other regional languages in the surrounding area. This study aims to describe phonological variations that include vowel phonemes, consonant phonemes, and phonetic correspondences in the speech of native speakers. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and recordings of three informants who are native Javanese speakers in Tridadi Village. The data obtained were then transcribed phonetically and analyzed using the distribution and matching methods. The results of the study indicate that there are 9 variations of vowel phonemes, namely /a, i, u, e, o, ɛ, ɔ, ə, ʊ/ and 19 variations of consonant phonemes, namely /b, c, d, g, h, j, k, l, m, n, ŋ, ɳ, p, r, s, t, w, y, ʔ/. These variations are influenced by geographical and social factors, as well as the existence of language contact with other regional languages around the research area. In addition, sound correspondence patterns were also found that indicate certain phoneme changes in the context of speech. These phonological variations are characteristic of the Javanese dialect in Tridadi Village which distinguishes it from Javanese dialects in other areas. Thus, this study contributes to the development of phonological and dialectological studies, especially in describing Javanese language variations in the South Sumatra region.
