Abstract

The rapid development of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) has opened up new possibilities for transforming the nature of teaching; however, empirical data on how physical education teachers can implement and integrate GenAI into their work is still lacking. This study aims to investigate how physical education teachers adopt GenAI in their teaching practices, focusing on their perceptions, usage patterns, and experiences, based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). This was conducted using open-ended and closed-ended questionnaires with 66 physical education teachers from Aceh Tengah Regency, Bener Meriah Regency, Aceh Besar Regency, and Banda Aceh City in Indonesia. The UTAUT-based questionnaire, consisting of six constructs and open-ended questions, was used to collect data. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, and qualitative responses were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate positive adoption of GenAI and, in particular, behavioral intentions and performance expectations. ChatGPT, Gemini, and MetaAI were the most popular, as they are most accessible and widely known. Furthermore, this study identified a three-phase GenAI instructional integration consisting of pre-teaching activities, such as lesson planning, materials development, and assessment preparation; in-teaching activities, such as visual learning support, content organization, and the use of multimedia materials; and post-teaching activities, such as reporting, documentation, and program management. These findings suggest that GenAI is now more of a supplementary technology and has potential as an instructional and administrative tool in the teaching process.

Abstract

Quality education is influenced not only by pedagogical aspects but also by students’ physical readiness, which is closely related to nutritional status. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) and its impact on student participation in Physical Education learning at SD Negeri 1 Bebesen. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using an interactive analysis model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation as well as member checking. The findings indicate an increase in students’ average attendance from 85% to 93% after the implementation of the program, along with a decrease in the number of students absent due to illness or fatigue. These changes are described based on observational and documentation data within the qualitative case study context. Observational results reveal improvements across all participation indicators, including active engagement in warm-up activities, endurance during core exercises, enthusiasm in games, and responsiveness to teacher instructions. Thematic analysis identified four main themes: increased physical energy, enhanced enthusiasm and motivation, active participation in physical activities, and improved attendance consistency. These findings suggest that the MBG program contributes not only to students’ physical well-being but also to psychological readiness, thereby supporting the effectiveness of Physical Education learning. Integrating school nutrition policies with activity-based learning represents a holistic approach to improving health-oriented educational quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Gayo Didong local culture as a foundation for developing the civic character of the younger generation. Didong is an oral art form of the Gayo community that not only serves as entertainment but also conveys moral, religious, and social values while shaping identity and self-concept. This study employed a systematic literature review by analyzing 48 scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025. The findings indicate that most studies utilized qualitative and literature review approaches focusing on the exploration of values, social meanings, and cultural functions in character development. Didong embodies noble values such as honesty, deliberation, mutual cooperation, social responsibility, and religiosity, which align with the principles of civic education. The integration of Didong cultural values into formal and non-formal education is considered effective in enhancing nationalism, social solidarity, and civic awareness among students. In the era of globalization, Didong also functions as a moral shield and cultural identity that helps the younger generation navigate modernization without losing their identity.
