Abstract

The meaning of life among adolescents from broken-home families has received limited attention, especially those living with their grandparents, which presents unique challenges and opportunities for personal growth. This study explores the meaning of life among adolescents from broken-home families living with their grandparents. Through a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, the research investigates the experiences of adolescents in finding meaning in their lives. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and observations in OKU Timur and Bandar Lampung. The study involved early and late adolescents aged 12-21 years who live with their grandparents due to parental divorce or absence. The research identified several factors influencing the meaning of life, including personal understanding, positive actions, relationship building, tri-value experiences, and religiosity. The findings reveal that adolescents develop various strategies to find meaning such as (1) building resilience, (2) adapting to change, (3) a sense of responsibility, (4) seeking social support, (5) strengthening spirituality, and (6) independence. They view life as a learning process, a struggle for independence, and an opportunity to make their grandparents happy. Despite facing challenges, they strive to maintain a positive attitude and focus on what they can control. Religiosity and religious beliefs are their primary source of strength. This study highlights the importance of emotional and spiritual support in helping adolescents overcome life's difficulties and build a positive, meaningful life.

Abstract

Abstract

Youth nowadays are increasingly required to have a resiliency in order to prevent disturbance in their developmental task, quality of life, and their future. This research aimed to elaborate youth resiliency and influence of ecological factors on their resiliency. Using quantitative design, this research was conducted during September 2015 – January 2016. Total 120 teenagers were generated through multi-stage random sampling technique. Primary data was collected through survey using researcher-developed questionnaire. Results showed that youth ecological factors such as subjective well-being, internal protective factor (including self-acceptance, environment acceptance, self-confidence, achievement, discipline, self-ability), external protective factors (including parenting, family , school , peer group,  and society environment), involvement of children in juvenile delinquency, family income, father’s length of education, administrative areas, and types of schools were associated with youth resiliency. Furthermore, external protective factors (from school, and parenting), and youth internal protective factors have a positive significant effect on youth resiliency. Specific regression analysis the influence family protective factor on youth resiliency showed that moral-religious orientation, cohesion, and achievement orientation have a positive significant effect on youth resiliency.

Abstract

Students, as the younger generation, must have adequate digital literacy skills to adapt and develop in this era. This research aims to identify and analyze portraits of students' digital literacy skills in Indonesia in the 5.0 era. This research used quantitative methods involving 99 student respondents from various campuses throughout Indonesia. The instrument used in this research is a questionnaire developed by Nugroho (2020), which uses the digital literacy measurement component from Digital Digital Literacy Across the Curriculum (Hague & Payton, 2010) with a reliability score of α = 0.961. The research results showed that most (73%) respondents were in the medium digital literacy skills category. The results also show that stu3edents achieved high scores in the skills components of seeking and selecting information, communication, digital security, collaboration, and creativity. Mid-average scores were achieved for the functional skills component, critical thinking, and evaluation abilities. Meanwhile, the lowest score was in the social and cultural understanding component. The findings of this research can be used for various purposes, such as designing digital literacy education and training programs that are right on target, developing digital tools and platforms that are easy to use by people with various levels of digital literacy, and creating effective policies and regulations related to digital literacy.

Abstract

This study investigates integrating Social Cure strategies and Adaptive Learning technologies to foster student well-being in online physics education. Employing a convergent mixed-methods design with 112 first-year undergraduates enrolled in a Basic Physics course at Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Intan Lampung during the 2022/2023 academic year, the research combined validated instruments (WEMWBS, PSSM, GSE-6, OSE, AEQ-S, Paas scale) with thematic interview analysis. Quantitative findings revealed significant increases in well-being, belonging, self-efficacy, and engagement, alongside reductions in cognitive load and anxiety. At the same time, qualitative narratives confirmed that peer mentoring, identity-building, and adaptive scaffolding synergistically enhanced emotional security and academic confidence. Confirmatory factor analysis supported the reliability and validity of measurement models, and joint displays integrated statistical results with students lived experiences. The study extends Social Cure theory into Physics contexts and enriches Cognitive Load Theory by demonstrating the dual benefits of socio-emotional support and adaptive personalization. It offers a replicable model for higher education institutions to design inclusive online environments that balance intellectual rigor with psychological well-being. It provides actionable insights for curriculum reform and digital pedagogy in Physics education.
