Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of taujih al-qiraat and its hermeneutical implications in Surah Yunus, focusing on how variations among the ten canonical Qur'anic readings generate layers of linguistic and theological meaning. It identifies forty-one loci of farsh al-huruf and verifies them through four parameters: rasm (orthographic framework), dabt (diacritical precision), lughawi (lexical plausibility), and nahwi/sarfi (grammatical and morphological validity). The research adopts a descriptive-analytical method integrating classical philology with modern linguistic verification to establish a transparent and replicable model of analysis. The results show that the variants in Surah Yunus function as a structured system of semantic plurality rather than random recitational differences. Ten representative loci reveal that phonetic variations preserve the rhythm of recitation, minor semantic variations influence rhetorical emphasis, and major semantic variations shape theological interpretation. These findings confirm that taujih al-qiraat serves as both a linguistic and hermeneutical framework linking structure and meaning in the Qur'an. The study concludes that the diversity of readings in Surah Yunus reflects divine intentionality within the boundaries of the Arabic language. By aligning classical verification with contemporary analysis, it offers a verifiable model for understanding how linguistic variation contributes to the Qur'an’s interpretive depth and theological coherence.

Abstract

Indonesia has a plurality of tribes and religions. The plurality of this tribe is one of the characteristics of Indonesian society that can be proud. However, we do not realize that the plurality also holds the potential for conflict that can threaten the life of the nation and the state. This has been proven in some areas of Indonesia such as the Sampit conflict between the Madurese and Dayaks, in Poso between Christians and Muslims, in Aceh between GAM and RI, the Ahmadiyah conflict, religious blasphemy, the infiltration of radicalism and terrorism, HTI dissolution etc. To minimize this, in schools must be instilled togetherness values, tolerant and able to adapt in various differences. The purpose of this study is to determine the urgency of multicultural education in Indonesia. With multicultural education, it is hoped to build multicultural discourse among teachers and students that not only able to build students' skills on subjects taught but be able to apply the values of pluralism, humanism and democracy directly in schools so that the nation is able to face various forms of conflict social. This research method is literature study (Library Research). In the approach using normative descriptive with more emphasis on the power of data analysis on existing data sources. The method uses content analysis is a method that prioritizes on the disclose aspects of the content (essence) of some existing proportions. From the results of this study, the authors conclude that the urgency of multicultural education in Indonesia is as an alternative means of solving conflicts, fostering students not deprived of cultural roots, as the foundation for the development of the national curriculum, and the realization of a multicultural Indonesian society. The implementation of the school, in the context of learning needs integrative learning model approach (teachers organize the material by linking several themes from various relevant subjects eg through religious subjects and civics), teachers have relevant learning strategy that is student centered instruction through discussion, simulation and games, strengthening character education in schools such as religious, nationalist, independent, mutual cooperation and integrity, growing religious tolerance values by schools must prepare a curriculum that includes the values of pluralism and tolerance

Abstract

Pencuri (sāriqah) yang termaktub pada Al-Maidah ayat 38 yaitu surah kelima dalam Al-Qur’an, memuat lafadz qaṭa‛a (potong) telah lama menjadi subjek perbedaan interpretasi. Kesenjangan antara perintah tekstual ini dengan implementasi hukum di negara modern seperti Indonesia, melatarbelakangi penelitian ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui makna historis (ma’na at-tarikhi) lafadz qaṭa‛a, mengetahui pesan utama (maghza at-tarikhi) dan menganalisis kontekstualisasi masa kini (maghza al-mutaharrik al-muasir). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif pustaka (library research) dengan kerangka teori hermeneutika ma’na cum maghza. Data primer dianalisis dari tiga kitab tafsir yaitu al-Kasysyaf karya al-Zamakhsyari, al-Iklil karya KH. Misbah bin Zain al-Mustofa, dan al-Misbah karya Muhammad Quraish Shihab. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga mufasir sepakat pada maghza historis (pembalasan dan pencegahan), namun berbeda pada ma’na dan kontekstualisasi. Al-Zamakhshari menetapkan ma’na linguistik-fiqh (potong pergelangan tangan kanan). KH. Misbah menegaskan ma’na legal-absolut yang menolak kontekstualisasi dinamis. Sebaliknya, Quraish Shihab menawarkan ma’na sosio-historis dan maghza kontemporer yang paling signifikan, yakni memahami hukuman potong tangan sebagai batas maksimal (hadd al-a’la), yang memberi diskresi hakim untuk sanksi alternatif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pemahaman maghza al-mutaharrik, khususnya melalui pendekatan Quraish Shihab, menawarkan jembatan relevan antara teks wahyu dan sistem hukum kontemporer. Tiga pandangan mufasir tentang lafadz qaṭa‛a dalam Al-Qur’an Surah Al-Maidah ayat 38 melalui pendekatan tafsir (linguistik-fiqh, legal-absolut, sosio-historis) menggunakan kerangka ma’na cum maghza menjadi kontribusi praktis dalam penelitian ini.

Abstract

In the fast-paced digital era, humans are often trapped in worldly routines and distracted by social media, leading to the neglect of their true potential and spiritual values. The concept of muhāsabah al-nafs in the Qur'an offers a solution to this identity crisis, as it emphasizes the importance of self-reflection for moral and spiritual improvement. Although the term is not explicitly mentioned, its values are reflected in verses such as Surah Al-Hashr [59]:18, which urges people to reflect on their deeds. Muhasabah also encompasses social and spiritual dimensions through concepts such as tazkiyah (purification), islah (reformation), tawbah (repentance), sabr (patience), and ihsan (excellence), which encourage inner purification, self-betterment, and positive contributions to society. This study aims to examine Qur'anic verses relevant to muhāsabah al-nafs, analyze their interpretations in classical exegeses such as Al-Iklil, Tarjuman Al-Mustafid, and Al-Maraghi, and relate them to contemporary life contexts, particularly among the younger generation. Using a qualitative approach with the thematic exegesis method (tafsir maudhū‘ī) by Al-Farmawy and literature review, the research reveals that scholars interpret introspection as a key to developing awareness of one’s actions and motivating change toward goodness. A wise person is one who can subdue their desires and work for the hereafter, while the heedless will remain trapped in hypocrisy and loss. This study is expected to enrich the body of knowledge and serve as a practical guide in building spiritual character amidst modern challenges.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis relevansi ayat ḥuzn (depresi)  perspektif Abu Zayd al-Balkhi (w. 934 M) dengan teori psikologi modern, yaitu Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Penelitian ini memakai pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi pustaka dan tafsir tematik. Data diambil dari tafsir klasik dan modern, seperti tafsir at-Thabari, al-Munir, dan al-Azhar, serta ayat-ayat al-Qur’an, khususnya Surah Yusuf (ayat 13, 84, 86) dan Surah Maryam (ayat 24), untuk mendalami tema yang dibahas. Sumber data sekunder diperoleh dari kamus bahasa Arab, kitab azbabun nuzul, literatur sejarah, jurnal ilmiah dan karya ilmiah lainnya. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik observasi dan pencatatan, lalu dianalisis dengan metode tafsir tematik menurut al-Farmawi. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah: bagaimana penafsiran ayat-ayat ḥuzn (depresi) perspektif psikologi Abu Zayd al-Balkhi? dan Bagaimana relevansi penafsiran ayat ḥuzn (depresi) dengan psikologi modern?. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemikiran Abu Zayd al-Balkhi mengenai kesedihan sebagai respon alami yang dapat dikelola secara kognitif dan spiritual, sejalan dengan prinsip-prinsip CBT yang menekankan kesadaran diri (awareness), penataan ulang pola pikir (cognitive reframing), dan respon perilaku adaptif (behavioral response). Kisah Nabi Ya‘qub dan Maryam menjadi gambaran Qur’ani tentang self healing yang mencerminkan keseimbangan antara ekspresi emosional, keimanan dan tindakan solutif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa integrasi antara tafsir al-Qur’an dan teori psikologi klasik Islam serta pendekatan psikologi modern mampu memberikan kontribusi terhadap pemahaman kejiwaan yang lebih holistik dan kontekstual di era kontemporer.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of the causalitic learning model integrated with local wisdom values, assisted by Articulate Storyline, to enhance students' creative thinking ability on the topic of sound waves The research employs a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The population consists of eleventh-grade students at SMAN 2 Narmada for the 2025/2026 academic year. Sampling was conducted using cluster random sampling, resulting in the selection of 21 students from class XI-A as the experimental group and 20 students from class XI-C as the control group. The experimental group received treatment through the causalius, learning model integrated with local wisdom values, while the control group was treated conventionally. Data on creative thinking ability (CTA) were obtained through an essay test consisting of 5 questions. The average CTA scores were 82.07 for the experimental group and 77.33 for the control group. The data from both groups were homogeneous and normally distributed. The CTA data were analyzed using a pooled variance t-test The analysis vielded a calculated t-value of 2.19 and a table t-value at a 5% significance level of 2.023, resulting in salculated wable Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of implementing the causalitic learning model integrated with local wisdom values, assisted by Articulate Storyline, on the creative thinking ability of high school students in the sound waves topic.

Abstract

Tujuan utama penelitian ini berusaha mengembangkan bahan ajar Tahsinul Qiro’ah berbasis metode an-Nahdliyah untuk meningkatkan ketrampilan membaca al-Qur’an dikalangan mahasiswa di IAIM NU Metro Lampung. Jenis penelitian ini adalah model pengembangan (development research) yang mengacu pada metode R&D model Akker. Prosedur pengembangannya meliputi tahap preliminary dan tahap uji formatif yang terdiri atas uji diri sendiri, uji ahli, uji satu-satu, uji kelas kecil dan uji lapangan. Teknik pengumpulan datanya meliputi observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan triangulasi, reduksi data, display data dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari hasil post tes afektif (ketrampilan) dan kognitif mahasiswa menggunakan modul Tahsinul Qiro’ah untuk meningkatkan ketrampilan membaca al-Qur’an berbasis metode an-Nahdliyah menghasilkan temuan bahwa hasil kognitif mahasiswa di bidang tajwid lebih bagus dari pada hasil praktiknya, di mana nilai rata-rata kognitif sebesar 3,0%  dalam kategori berhasil menguasai materi dengan baik. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata aspek ketrampilan sebesar 2,4% menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa cukup terampil.

Abstract

This study discusses the learning strategy of the Al-Qur'an Hadīth subject in forming the religious character of students at MTs Ma'arif Bumi Baru, Blambangan Umpu District, Way Kanan Regency. The background of this study is based on the importance of religious character education amidst the moral and social challenges faced by the younger generation. The Al-Qur'an Hadīth subject has a strategic role in instilling deep Islamic values, so that learning is not only oriented towards mastering the material, but also on forming attitudes and behaviors that reflect religious values. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and documentation of learning activities. The results of the study show that teachers use several effective strategies, including: integration between religious theory and practice, habituation of daily worship such as dhuha prayer, recitation of the Al-Qur'an before the lesson begins, instilling the values ​​of honesty, responsibility, and discipline through studying the meaning of the verses of the Al-Qur'an, and the application of the exemplary method (uswah hasanah) in daily interactions. In addition, the use of discussion methods and contextual reflection of values ​​encourages students to relate the teachings of the Qur'an and Hadith to everyday life. This strategy has been proven to be able to improve students' religious character as reflected in politeness, enthusiasm for worship, honesty, and enthusiasm for sharing. Thus, learning the Qur'an and Hadith which is designed holistically and integratively can be an effective medium in forming students' religious character. This study recommends that this learning strategy continue to be developed and supported by the madrasah environment and family in order to create a generation that is faithful, has noble character, and is responsible.

Abstract

This study examines the concept of magic in the story of Prophet Musa as interpreted by Al-Baidawi in Anwār al-Tanzīl wa Asrār al-Ta’wīl, focusing on Surah Ṭāhā verses 65–70. Although the theme of magic has been widely discussed in Islamic scholarship, limited attention has been given to Al-Baidawi’s exegetical perspective, particularly regarding the distinction between magic and miracles in the Qur’anic narrative. This study therefore seeks to contribute to the existing literature by providing a focused analysis of Al-Baidawi’s interpretation of the confrontation between Prophet Musa and Pharaoh’s magicians. The research employs a qualitative library-based approach using descriptive-analytical methods and thematic content analysis. Data were collected from Al-Baidawi’s tafsir as the primary source and supported by relevant classical and contemporary references. The analysis involved identifying key interpretive themes, examining textual explanations, and evaluating theological arguments related to magic and miracles. The findings show that Al-Baidawi understands magic as a form of sensory deception that manipulates human perception without changing objective reality, whereas miracles are genuine manifestations of divine power bestowed upon prophets. He also regards magic as a serious religious transgression because of its association with shirk and deviation from divine guidance. Furthermore, the study highlights the psychological dimension of magical illusion reflected in Musa’s response during the encounter. These findings enrich the understanding of classical Qur’anic exegesis and offer a contextual framework for discussing perceptions of supernatural phenomena within Islamic thought.

Abstract

Amid the expanding waves of digital transformation, human moral integrity is facing new challenges in the form of visual exposure and the commodification of the body in cyberspace. This article aims to actualize the essential message of QS. An-Nūr verses 30–32 through the perspective of Tafsīr Maqāṣidī as formulated by Abdul Mustaqim, in order to address the challenges posed by increasingly open modern lifestyles. Employing a qualitative method based on library research, and utilizing a maqāṣidī exegetical approach to QS. An-Nūr verses 30–32, this study seeks to uncover the Islamic concept of honor, which is then contextualized within contemporary social realities to produce findings that are systematic, analytical, and scientifically accountable. The findings indicate that the verses on honor are not merely strict regulations, but rather constitute a comprehensive system for the protection of human dignity, particularly through the commands to lower the gaze and cover the ‘awrah as stated in QS. An-Nūr verses 30–31. This meaning becomes increasingly relevant in the context of digital engagement and the exercise of privacy control to prevent the negative impacts of social media practices. Furthermore, the recommendation of marriage in verse 32 is positioned as a primary solution, while also addressing economic barriers arising from consumptive lifestyle standards. In synthesis, Islamic law provides a holistic framework of protection encompassing mindset, social ethics, and practical solutions in safeguarding human honor and dignity. Through this perspective, the Qur’an functions as a robust moral shield for individuals in preserving spiritual values amid the currents of globalization.
