Abstract

This study explores how strategic management contributes to achieving sustainable competitive advantage in Islamic educational institutions through a comparative multiple-case study of MAN 1 Jombang and SMA Trensains Tebuireng. A qualitative research approach with a multiple-case study design was employed to examine strategic environmental analysis, strategy formulation, strategy implementation, and strategic evaluation in two institutions operating under different governance structures and educational philosophies. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, and were analyzed using the interactive model of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing supported by cross-case analysis. The findings reveal that MAN 1 Jombang develops competitive advantage through bureaucratic legitimacy, structured strategic planning, systematic implementation, and performance-oriented evaluation, while SMA Trensains Tebuireng achieves competitiveness through intellectual differentiation, philosophical coherence, collaborative implementation, and reflective organizational learning. Despite these differences, both institutions demonstrate that sustainable competitive advantage emerges from the integration of strategic environmental analysis, strategic positioning, strategic resource utilization, implementation supported by leadership and organizational culture, and continuous evaluation. The study proposes the Strategic Competitive Advantage Model of Islamic Education, which explains that institutional competitiveness is strengthened through the dynamic interaction of these four strategic management processes, resulting in enhanced institutional reputation, academic excellence, public trust, organizational legitimacy, and long-term sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of Management Information Systems (MIS) in improving the quality of educational services and job satisfaction at Madrasah. The research employs a mixed methods approach with a sequential exploratory design, beginning with qualitative methods through observation, interviews, and documentation, followed by quantitative analysis using questionnaires distributed to 285 respondents. Qualitative data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, while quantitative data were examined through simple and multiple linear regression with SPSS. The qualitative findings indicate that MIS supports administrative efficiency, provides accurate data, and enhances service quality and job satisfaction across five key aspects: responsiveness, assurance, tangibles, empathy, and reliability. However, challenges such as limited infrastructure and user adaptability remain. Quantitatively, statistical tests show that MIS has a significant impact on both service quality and job satisfaction, as indicated by the F-value (2.679) exceeding the F-table value (2.410) with a significance level of 0.00 < 0.05. This study emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive and sustainable MIS implementation strategy to support the educational vision at Madrasah.

Abstract

The management of Islamic educational institutions in the modern era faces complex challenges that require a managerial approach that is not only technically effective, but also aligned with Islamic values and the social context of society. Therefore, a management model that is capable of integrating various approaches comprehensively is needed. This study aims to analyze four main approaches in Islamic educational management, namely the rational approach, the community figure approach, the cultural approach, and the opinion formation approach, as well as to examine their implications for the management of educational institutions. The research problems in this study include the characteristics of each approach and how their synergy can improve the effectiveness of Islamic educational institution management. The method used is qualitative research in the form of a literature study, sourced from relevant books and scientific journals, and analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of the study show that the rational approach plays a role in creating a structured and data-based management system, while the community figure approach provides social legitimacy through charismatic leadership. The cultural approach functions to strengthen the internalization of Islamic values within the organizational culture, whereas the opinion formation approach contributes to building institutional image and public trust. The integration of these four approaches produces a holistic management model that not only improves organizational efficiency and effectiveness, but also strengthens the competitiveness, adaptability, and sustainability of Islamic educational institutions amid global dynamics.

Abstract

The Industrial Revolution 5.0 era demands that the education system adapt to rapid technological advancements without neglecting character development, particularly within Islamic Religious Education (IRE). This article explores the importance of integrating Islamic values into digital character education as a strategy to shape resilient, adaptive, and globally competitive Muslim generations. Without strong spiritual and moral foundations, digital education risks contributing to a character crisis among students. Therefore, the role of IRE teachers is essential in utilizing technology as a medium to instill Islamic values such as honesty, responsibility, tolerance, and discipline. This study employs a qualitative-descriptive approach with literature review as the primary method. The findings indicate that the integration of Islamic values into digital learning can be achieved through various platforms such as interactive videos, e-learning systems, and educational social media, while maintaining Islamic pedagogical principles. In conclusion, Islamic-based digital character education is not only relevant but also a fundamental necessity in preparing Muslim students to face modern challenges while preserving their moral and spiritual integrity. The implications of this study can serve as a reference for educators and policymakers in designing technology-based IRE curricula.
