Abstract

This research is based on the findings of problems in historical learning conducted by blended learning in class XII at SMA Negeri 16 Medan during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research also aims to describe the challenges of teaching and learning through blended learning during historical learning in class XII at SMA Negeri 16 Medan. This type of research is qualitative research through a descriptive approach. The results of the study illustrate the challenges experienced by educators and learners. The challenges of educators are teachers lacking knowledge in blended learning, difficulty in providing assessments on blended learning, ineffective learning time, educators' ability to use gadgets, limited facilities and infrastructure, while the problems felt by students are difficulty in adjusting, lack of interest in learners when learning blended learning, learners' learning achievements are low, some learners cannot afford internet packages and have difficulty in accessing the internet network.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the opinions of teachers and students about the use of modules in historical learning at Erlangga Pematangsiantar High School. This type of research is descriptive-qualitative. Data was taken from the informant of 1 history teacher, 28 students consisting of 15 students of class X IPA and 13 students of class X IPS and Principal through observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The validity of the data in this study is tested using data triangulation techniques, then the collected data is analyzed data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion withdrawal, so that the modules are made effective then the teacher must refer to the theory put forward by Everett M. Rogers in which the module has excellence, consistency, complexity, can be tested and can be observed. From the results of the research it can be concluded that modules made by teachers of history subjects are effective.

Abstract

Setelah dilakukannya zending RMG ke wilayah Nusantara, maka tak luput pula RMG masuk ke Tanah Batak. Diawali dengan berdirinya gereja di Tarutung hingga meluas ke seluruh wilayah Tanah Batak. Zendeling Pekabaran Injil Zending Batak yang pertama sekali diutus oleh Zending HKBP ke Desa Rura Tanjung adalah Gr Ogus Hutagalung sejak tahun 1920. Gr Ogus Hutagalung berhasil menyebarkan agama Kristen Protestan terutama kepada penduduk yang belum menganut agama. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah. Adapun hasil penelitian yang diperoleh bahwa berdirinya HKBP Sihorbo Tanjung tidak terlepas dari pengaruh pengembangan Zending atau Pekabaran Injil ke berbagai daerah sebagi indikator panggilan gereja yang hidup seperti Zending Batak yang datang ke Rura Tanjung. Peranan HKBP Sihorbo Tanjung dalam menyebarkan agama Kristen Protestan di Rura Tanjung semakin berkembang hingga sampai sekarang (2018) terlihat dari berbagai bidang misalnya: bidang pendidikan, bidang Diakoni (pelayanan sosial), bidang kesehatan, bidang ekonomi.

Abstract

In class X students at SMA Negeri 3 Pematang Siantar, this study attempts to ascertain if the Cooperative Script learning methodology can achieve student learning outcomes in history topics. The Nonequivalent Control Group Design is the type of research design utilized in this study, which employs a quasi-experimental methodology. Tests, observation, and documentation were employed in data gathering procedures, while dependent and independent sample t-tests were utilized in data analysis approaches. 22 students from Class X Science served as the experimental class in this study, and 22 students from Class X Social Studies served as the control class. Based on the study's findings, it was discovered that the learning outcomes of the experimental class's students, who used the Cooperative Script learning model, were better than those of the control class's students, who used the traditional learning model. Thus, it can be said that class X students at SMA Negeri 3 Pematang Siantar may learn history substantially better using the Cooperative Script learning paradigm. This can be taken into account so that the school can use this learning model to enhance student learning outcomes. The approach the school can adopt is to organize routine teacher training sessions on innovative learning.

Abstract

Independent learning is a type of learning in which students must complete authentic assessments based on their own initiative. As a result, various approaches to developing quality history learning steps and a Pancasila profile in relation to independent schools with student autonomy are required. The development of history learning can be accomplished through three methods of implementing the social profile: teaching resources, learning methods, and authentic assessment. The use of authentic assessment will encompass the selection of instructional materials and learning models, making it a significant channel. Authentic assessment guides learning by allowing students to create various learning activities that contain the Pancasila Profile's contents during the learning process. Authentic assessment provides a true picture of students' reading abilities as well as a measure of their progress toward independence. As a result of this fact, authentic assessment can aid in the improvement of history learning as well as the development of student independence.

Abstract

Teachers play a crucial role as stakeholders in ensuring the continuity of literacy movements in schools. They undertake various efforts to sustain and develop school-based literacy programs, particularly in history. To this end, teachers can take several steps to promote and maintain the school's history literacy movement, such as planning and implementing the school's literacy history movement process. The research aims to determine the literacy skills of class XI students in lesson planning at SMAN 3 Pematangsiantar and to comprehend the role of teachers in fostering student literacy history in the learning process. A descriptive qualitative method was used to analyze descriptive data by describing the research results. The study utilized observation, interviews, and documentation to collect data from the principal, homeroom teacher, and class XI students. The study's findings suggest that teachers at SMAN 3 Pematangsiantar foster literacy movements through planning and processes implemented in the stages of habituation, development, and learning. Teachers can encourage students to participate in literacy programs by incorporating reading programs into the curriculum, such as a one-hour reading program or a reading lesson before class, and using various media, such as bulletin boards, to promote literacy movements. In addition, teachers and parents play essential roles in managing and supervising students since students learn not only at school but also actively learn at home.

Abstract

Film adalah serangkaian gambar diam, yang ketika ditampilkan pada layar akan menciptakan ilusi gambar bergerak. Ilusi optik ini memaksa penonton untuk melihat gerakan berkelanjutan antar objek yang berbeda secara cepat dan berturut-turut. Film merupakan bagian dari media komunikasi massa yang sering kali digunakan sebagai media yang menggambarkan kehidupan sosial dalam masyarakat. Film sebagai salah satu atribut media massa menjadi sarana komunikasi yang paling efektif. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah pada saat proses kegiatan pembelajaran berlangsung dalam menyampaikan materi ajar masih terkesan monoton. Hal ini dikarenakan kurangnya partisipasi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, sehingga membuat siswa menjadi bosan, kurang aktif dan akhirnya tidak memperhatikan guru yang sedang mengajar di kelas, akibatnya akan berdampak pada nilai mereka rendah. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini maka guru harus menggunakan media pembelajaran yang tepat. Media yang dapat digunakan yaitu media film. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh media film terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Selain itu untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengolah informasi siswa melalui penerapan media film dalam pembelajaran sejarah. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam penerapan media film untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengolah informasi siswa merupakan salah satu cara yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran sejarah di sekolah. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan saran atau rekomendasi serta bahan pertimbangan untuk guru agar siswa memiliki kemampuan dalam mengolah informasi sehingga pembelajaran sejarah dapat berjalan dengan lancar.

Abstract

Maritime trade is an economic activity carried out through sea routes such as exports and imports, the main function of maritime trade is to improve the economy of a country and the welfare between entrepreneurs, this maritime trade is not only carried out by two countries but can even be between one country and one organization that has members with several countries in it such as ASEAN. The purpose of this study is to provide knowledge about the role of maritime trade in the history of the economy in ASEAN. The results of this study explain the influence of maritime trade on the economic development of ASEAN and ASEAN member states. ASEAN is an organization formed with the aim of improving the economies of the countries in Southeast Asia consisting of Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Philippines, Myanmar, Laos. This study uses qualitative research with a library study approach to research accurate and relevant data so that readers can easily understand the range of knowledge from this research.

Abstract

This article discusses the crucial role of Usman Janatin and Harun Thohir in the confrontation between Indonesia and Malaysia in the 1963–1968 period, presenting an in-depth perspective for understanding history at the Class XII high school level. As the two central figures in this conflict, Usman Janatin and Harun Thohir are in the spotlight, presenting stories of heroism and service that shape the history of relations between the two countries. Data was collected through literature study, document analysis, and interviews. Through content analysis which consists of four steps, namely data procurement, unit determination, recording/coding, inference, and data analysis. This article provides a comprehensive picture of the Indonesia-Malaysia confrontation and the cultural, political and military roles played by Usman Janatin and Harun Thohir. It is hoped that this article will be a valuable resource for Class XII high school students who are studying regional history, providing deeper insight into the period of confrontation and its impact on the two countries. By exploring this heroic story, it is hoped that it can motivate students to better appreciate the spirit of patriotism and devotion to their homeland, as well as increase their understanding of the dynamics of relations between countries in the context of modern history.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the observational learning model in improving the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students in Social Studies (IPS) at SMP Muhammadiyah 21 Serbelawan in the 2023-2024 academic year. The research method used is classroom action research (PTK) consisting of two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, observations, and interviews with students and teachers. The results showed that the implementation of the observational learning model can significantly improve student learning outcomes. In the first cycle, there was a 15% increase in the average student learning outcomes, and in the second cycle, the increase reached 25%. In addition, students showed higher enthusiasm and active involvement in the learning process. The conclusion of this study is that the observational learning model is effective in improving IPS learning outcomes and can be applied as an alternative learning method at SMP Muhammadiyah 21 Serbelawan.
