Abstract

Abstract

The research is being carried out among the students of the SMK Accounting and Finance Institute who are still not mastered in computer knowledge, have anxiety about the use of computers, and lack motivation towards learning outcomes. This study aims to examine the role of learning motivation as a mediator between computer knowledge and computer anxiety in student learning outcomes. This type of research is quantitative with a path analysis correlation design. The number of respondents in this study was 90 students of SMK Negeri 1 Boyolali. The results showed that the learning motivation variable is a mediator variable between computer knowledge and learning outcomes. However, the results of the analysis also show that the learning motivation variable is a mediator variable between computer anxiety and learning outcomes, while computer knowledge and computer anxiety have an effect but are not significant on learning outcomes. Therefore, to improve learning outcomes through increasing students' computer knowledge, learning motivation is needed. Meanwhile, increasing computer anxiety decreases motivation and learning outcomes, but not significantly. Therefore, learning motivation has an important role in mediating computer knowledge and computer anxiety on student learning outcomes in spreadsheet subjects for accounting. Further research is expected to find out what other factors affect student learning outcomes in accounting spreadsheet subjects.

Abstract

Structural Equation Modelling Analysis of Improving Teachers' Teaching Creativity: The Role of Professional Identity and Emotional Intelligence. Objective: The study aimed to examine a comprehensive structural model comprising three variables namely teaching creativity, emotional intelligence, and professional identity. Methods: The study involved 170 prospective teachers enrolled in teacher professional education programs in Indonesia by using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected online using instruments adapted from previous research. The data were analysed by using covariance-based Structural Equation Modelling (CB-SEM) with the assistance of AMOS.  Findings: The findings revealed that the model confirmed a strong relationship among the three variables. Partial regression analysis reveals that emotional intelligence influences professional identity and teaching creativity, while professional identity influences teaching creativity. Nevertheless, the full model analysis revealed a contrary result that emotional intelligence could not directly enhance teaching creativity. Emotional intelligence must be accompanied by a strong professional identity to boost creativity in teaching effectively. These results suggest that professional identity functions as a full mediator in the relationship between emotional intelligence and teaching creativity. Conclusions: Efforts to enhance teaching creativity should focus not only on developing emotional intelligence but also on strengthening professional identity. This identity comprises several components, including cultural knowledge, blending, interpersonal skills, and active engagement in the professional community. Neglecting professional identity may hinder improvements in teaching creativity, even if emotional intelligence is high. Stakeholders should prioritise both aspects to cultivate creative educators. Keywords: teaching creativity, emotional intelligence, professional identity, SEM, teacher.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i2.202498

Abstract

This research investigates the components of professional identity among prospective accounting teachers, a topic largely unexplored in existing literature. Conducted in Indonesia, the qualitative study adopts a narrative design with six participants from both private and public universities. Data collection involves participants independently recording narratives throughout their first to third years of study, capturing the evolution of their professional identity. Results reveal a progression in professional identity formation over the three years. In the initial year, emphasis is on instructional abilities. By the second year, a notable shift occurs, with elements such as multitasking, game-based teaching, and character values gaining prominence. Furthermore, flexibility, agility, sensitivity, and tech savvy emerge as identity components. The third year marks a significant transformation, with a focus on soft skills, time management, and a sense of responsibility as central components of professional identity for prospective accounting teachers. It is crucial to acknowledge that these components remain subject to further evolution with continued analysis. The study recommends subsequent research utilizing quantitative methods, specifically exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the identified professional identity components. This research contributes to the broader discourse on professional identity, shedding light on the nuanced development within the context of prospective accounting teachers.

Abstract

The study aims to test the immersion variable as a mediator between visibility, metavoicing, and guidance shopping against purchase intention on Shopee's live-streaming shopping features. This type of research is quantitative with design correlation path analysis. A total of 114 respondents were millennials aged 17–20. Research results show that the immersion variable is a significant mediator variable between metavoicing and guidance shopping towards purchase intention. There is a significant direct influence between the visibility guidance shopping variable and the immersion on the purchase intention. However, the results of the analysis also show that the metavoicing variable does not have a direct effect on the purchasing intention, while visibility does not directly affect immersion. Therefore, the immersion variable is not the mediator variable between visibility and purchase intention. Based on that, purchase intention will increase significantly if there is an increase in metavoicing and guidance shopping. Metavoicing and guidance shopping increased the purchase intention with increased immersion. However, the buy intention will increase significantly without the increase in immersion, and the purchase intent will only rise significantly when the metavoicing variable is bridged by immersions.

Abstract

Creativity plays a crucial role in solving problems through innovation, which enhances self-development, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. In the field of education, teaching creativity enables teachers to design diverse and engaging learning experiences that cater to different student needs and learning styles. However, the effectiveness of teaching creativity is influenced by various factors, including teaching enthusiasm and professional identity. This study aims to investigate the mediating role of professional identity in the relationship between teaching enthusiasm and teaching creativity. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected from 170 pre-service teachers through questionnaires measuring Teaching Enthusiasm (TE), Professional Identity (PI), and Teaching Creativity (TC). Path Analysis was employed to examine the direct and mediating effects of professional identity. The findings indicate that professional identity plays a full mediating role between teaching enthusiasm and teaching creativity. While teaching enthusiasm alone does not significantly impact teaching creativity, the presence of a strong professional identity enhances this relationship. Teachers with high enthusiasm and a well-established professional identity are more likely to implement creative teaching methods, fostering an engaging and effective learning environment. This study underscores the importance of strengthening professional identity to optimize the benefits of teaching enthusiasm in fostering creativity. Educational institutions should implement continuous training and professional development programs to enhance teachers' professional identity, ultimately improving student learning outcomes. Future research could explore additional factors that contribute to teaching creativity, such as institutional support and teaching experience.
