Abstract

This study aims to analyze the growth of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) cultivated in a concrete pond system in Dusun IV, Fadoro Lasara Village, Gunungsitoli City. The concrete pond system was chosen for its advantages in land efficiency, ease of management, and ability to maintain stable water quality. The research method employed a quantitative experimental approach over 60 days, with 200 Nile tilapia as the study subjects. The parameters observed included absolute weight and length gain, specific growth rate (SGR), feed conversion ratio (FCR), and survival rate (SR). The results showed that the average weight of the fish increased from 5.12 grams to 98.46 grams, with a length increase of 12.5 cm. The SGR was recorded at 4.29% per day, FCR at 1.38, and SR at 96.5%. These results indicate that the concrete pond system can support optimal tilapia growth. This study recommends the application of concrete ponds as an efficient aquaculture alternative, particularly in areas with limited land and resources. This system has proven to be adaptive to local conditions and contributes to increased productivity and income for aquaculture farmers.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate student satisfaction with student services at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Nias University. Involving 282 respondents consisting of 152 males and 130 females, this study used a Likert scale-based questionnaire to collect data. Validity and reliability tests showed all indicators were valid and reliable with a Cronbach's alpha value of 0.916. Satisfaction analysis was conducted through the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) methods, which resulted in a CSI value of 53%, indicating a good level of satisfaction although there are some aspects that need improvement. This study also identifies factors that affect student satisfaction, such as adequacy, accessibility, and quality of facilities & infrastructure, with data analysis using multiple linear regression. The results of the study are expected to provide recommendations for improving student affairs services in the future, ensuring that services remain optimal for students.

Abstract

Feed is an important factor in cultivating catfish (Clarias sp.), which affects the survival and growth of fry. Catfish growth is greatly influenced by feed quality, including nutrition, digestibility and feed utilization. Fermented feed is one of the innovations developed to improve feed quality. Fermented feed has become an attractive alternative to improve feed quality and growth efficiency. This article aims to explore the effect of fermented feed on the survival and growth of catfish fry by reviewing various previous studies. The method used is a literature review by collecting research results from various published scientific articles. The research results show that the use of fermented feed in catfish cultivation can increase growth, digestibility and feed efficiency. Further research is needed to explore optimal dosage and composition.

Abstract

This research explores innovative strategies in the management of marine fisheries resources and their impact on the welfare of fishers in Siofabanua Village, North Nias. Using a holistic and multidisciplinary approach, we analyzed aspects of the marine ecosystem, fishers' socioeconomic dynamics, and fisheries management policies. The analysis showed that the implementation of innovative strategies significantly improved fishers' income, access to education and health, and their quality of life. Government support, community involvement, and fishers' capacity also play an important role in the success of innovative strategies. This research provides recommendations for governments, non-governmental organizations and communities to strengthen policies, funding, institutions and cooperation to maintain the sustainability of marine fisheries resources and improve fishers' welfare. This article not only provides an in-depth understanding of the challenges faced by fishing communities in Siofabanua Village, but also proposes innovative solutions to improve their welfare. It is hoped that this article can serve as a guide for practitioners, policy makers, and communities in maintaining the sustainability of marine fisheries resources and the welfare of fishers in coastal areas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of probiotics in supporting the sustainability of fish farming systems. The study was conducted using a literature analysis method from various scientific sources, including journals, academic books, and other scientific works. Probiotics are proven to have significant benefits in increasing feed efficiency, improving water quality, and increasing fish resistance to disease. The study results show that probiotics can reduce ammonia levels by 40%, increase feed conversion efficiency (FCR) by 25%, and increase fish survival rates by 90%. In addition, the use of probiotics can reduce dependence on antibiotics and chemicals, making it more environmentally friendly. The conclusion of this study is that probiotics are an effective solution to improve production efficiency while maintaining environmental sustainability in fish farming. However, further research is needed to optimize the type and application of probiotics that suit various aquaculture systems.

Abstract

One solution to urban farming is hydroponic cultivation. Currently, the development of the world of agriculture, especially in the field of hydroponics, is increasingly rapid. When compared to conventional farming, hydroponics has advantages that conventional farming does not have. One plant that is often cultivated hydroponically is the cherry tomato plant. The growth and production of tomatoes with a good hydroponic system requires the right concentration and volume of nutrients. This research used a non-factorial randomized block design (CRD) with Nutrient concentration (N) treatment, consisting of 5 levels, namely: N1 = 800 ppm, N2 = 900 ppm, N3 = 1000 ppm, N4 = 1100 ppm and N5 = 1200 ppm. The results showed that nutrient concentration had an effect on the generative growth phase, but had no significant effect on the vegetative growth phase of cherry tomato plants. Nutrient concentration influences the morphology and physiology of cherry tomato plants. Nutrient concentration had a significant effect on the production of cherry tomato plants hydroponically with the heaviest fruit weight per plant found in the AB Mix nutrient concentration of 1000 ppm (N3) of 97.89 g.

Abstract

Pertumbuhan populasi dunia dan kebutuhan pangan yang semakin meningkat merupakan tantangan global kompleks. Untuk mengatasinya, inovasi teknologi akuakultur berkelanjutan, seperti sistem akuaponik, telah menjadi fokus utama dalam upaya memenuhi kebutuhan pangan yang meningkat. Sistem akuaponik mengintegrasikan budidaya ikan dengan pertumbuhan tanaman secara terintegrasi, menciptakan siklus alami di mana ikan menghasilkan limbah yang diperlukan sebagai sumber nutrisi bagi tanaman, sementara tanaman membersihkan air untuk ikan. Dalam jurnal ini, kami membahas pemanfaatan sistem akuaponik untuk meningkatkan produksi ikan dan tanaman secara berkelanjutan. Sistem akuaponik menawarkan berbagai manfaat, antara lain efisiensi penggunaan air yang tinggi, pengurangan limbah, dan peningkatan produktivitas. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui tinjauan pustaka terhadap artikel ilmiah, jurnal, dan publikasi terkait inovasi teknologi akuakultur berkelanjutan dan pemanfaatan sistem akuaponik. Data dan informasi yang diperoleh dianalisis dan disajikan untuk mendukung tujuan penelitian ini. Dalam hasil dan pembahasan, kami menjelaskan prinsip dasar dan manfaat akuaponik, serta faktorfaktor yang mempengaruhi produksi ikan dalam sistem akuaponik, seperti ketersediaan nutrisi, kualitas air, suhu lingkungan, kepadatan ikan, dan manajemen pakan. Abstract

ABSTRACT Ikan gabus (Channa striata) banyak ditemui di perairan Indonesia. Keuntungan ikan ini adalah bisa dimanfaatkan dalam pengobatan tradisional karena kandungan protein, lemak, mineral, dan vitamin yang bermanfaat bagi kesehatan. Review ini bertujuan untuk menilai efek penggunaan pakan alami berupa larva lalat pada pertumbuhan ikan gabus (C. striata). Informasi diperoleh melalui tinjauan Pustaka yang dianalisis dalam rangka mempersiapkan penelitian mengenai dampak pemberian pakan pada pertumbuhan ikan Gabus (C. striata). Dari hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa perbedaan kandungan protein pada pakan alami maggot mempengaruhi pertumbuhan ikan gabus. Sebagai hasilnya, pertumbuhan ikan gabus meningkat ketika diberi pakan maggot dalam jumlah yang lebih banyak. Kata kunci :. Pakan Maggot, Pakan buatan, Ikan Gabus (channa striata), Pertumbuhan. ABSTRACT In Indonesian waters, snakehead fish (C. striata) are often encountered. Because this fish includes healthy amounts of protein, fat, minerals, and vitamins, its advantages can be utilized in conventional therapy. The purpose of this review is to evaluate the impact of feeding snakehead fish (C. striata) natural food in the form of fly larvae. Data were gathered from observations in the literature and interpreted in light of preliminary studies on the effects of feeding on the growth of snakehead fish (C. striata). The findings of the study indicate that variations in the amount of protein present in natural maggot feed have an impact on the development of snakehead fish. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penggunaan ekstrak bawang putih (Allium sativum) sebagai suplemen pakan dalam meningkatkan performa imunitas dan pertumbuhan ikan dalam konteks budidaya akuatik. Tujuannya adalah untuk menyelidiki manfaat ekstrak bawang putih terhadap kesehatan dan pertumbuhan ikan serta implikasi penggunaannya dalam konteks budidaya ikan yang berkelanjutan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah tinjauan literatur dengan pendekatan analisis deskriptif. Hasil dari tinjauan literatur menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak bawang putih memiliki potensi besar dalam meningkatkan sistem kekebalan tubuh ikan dan mempercepat pertumbuhan mereka. Senyawa aktif dalam bawang putih, terutama allicin, memiliki sifat antibakteri dan antioksidan yang membantu melindungi ikan dari infeksi dan penyakit, serta merangsang pertumbuhan dengan meningkatkan efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan dan penyerapan nutrisi. Penggunaan ekstrak bawang putih juga dianggap ramah lingkungan karena minimnya residu obat dan dampak negatifnya terhadap lingkungan. Penambahan ekstrak bawang putih ke dalam pakan ikan dapat meningkatkan kesehatan dan pertumbuhan ikan dalam budidaya akuatik

Abstract

ABSTRAK Permasalahan penurunan kualitas air di perairan darat dan pesisir akibat aktivitas antropogenik menuntut pendekatan pengelolaan yang holistik dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji prinsip, implementasi, tantangan, dan peluang pendekatan berbasis ekosistem dalam pengelolaan kualitas air. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur terhadap sumber ilmiah nasional dan internasional tahun 2015-2025. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan berbasis ekosistem mengintegrasikan aspek sosial, ekonomi dan ekologis melalui pengelolaan berbasis wilayah ekologi, keterlibatan pemangku kepentingan, serta integrasi ilmu lokal dan teknologi modern. Implementasi di perairan darat mencakup pemanfaatan indikator biologis dan partisipasi masyarakat, sedangkan di wilayah pesisir berfokus pada konservasi ekosistem mangrove dan estuaria. Tantangan utama mencakup keterbatasan data ekologis dan lemahnya koordinasi antarsektor, namun peluang terbuka melalui pengembangan sistem pemantauan berbasis teknologiinternet of thingsyang dikombinasikan dengan kearifan lokal. Pendekatan berbasis ekosistem memberikan landasan strategis dalam pengelolaan kualitas air secara adaptif dan berkelanjutan untuk menjaga keberlangsungan ekosistem perairan.
